Releasing more weapons as part of Elite specialisations is not the answer. Elite specialisations should focus on modifying all current existing abilities is closer to the right direction. Also all the weapons should be available to nearly all classes regardless of Elite specialisations.
If they can’t do that then ArenaNet should allow for cross weapon transmutation one handed melee weapons with melee and one handed ranged with the one handed ranged. Two handed melee with the melee and the ranged with the ranged so on and so forth.
And why should they that exactly ?
Why should they do it? You tell me, it’s quite clear what I am suggesting.

Did they finally put in player housing??!?!?! This must be why the servers are full!!!
Housing. I would place so much gold into my home if we had housing like Wildstar.
I miss the original Guild Wars. I would play it more but when I do, it just defeats the purpose for me knowing there will never be any more content updates for that game.
When I first heard of Guild Wars 2 I got excited, thought it would be Guild Wars 1, just with an open world, turns out it was the exact opposite. Regardless of what I feel, I am happy that people are currently enjoying the game though.
Hello! It’s been a while since I posted but I saw this and felt like I had to comment. When I first started playing Guild Wars 2 back when it launched I was in awe over how much freedom I had with… generally everything. The new trait points each level above ten made left me very excited to level. From adept to master and finally to grandmaster was so satisfying, it really made me feel self accomplished when I leveled my first character.
From personal experience, people do not like it when you hold their hands and tell them what to do every step of the way, a little guidance along the way is okay but let them discover everything on their own. The best player experience is self discovery.
This is why we do not have capes.

Can we start merging or getting rid of stats please? I like experimenting with different builds but the current stat system restricts me of having any sort of freedom. You guys at ArenaNet removed the trinity, so how about we do away with another vast improvement? We should be focusing on gameplay and asking ourselves “is it fun?”
I’m holding out hope for the Tengu.
If there is one world boss that is deserving of an update, it’s the Shadow Behemoth. Two examples of perfect world bosses that have been revamped is the Fire Elemental and the Inquest Golem Mark II.
Thank you everyone for your answers!
I was curious if there is a laurel cap in place. For some reason I keep thinking it’s one-hundred. Can anyone confirm?
BY OGDEN’S HAMMER, WHAT SAVINGS!
Oh wait—this isn’t the good lines thread..
As to the topic, I’d like to see all weapons opened to all professions personally.
This. And a-net did say they are working to make it happen.
They said they would rather expand existing weapons to other professions before introducing new ones. As it is right now they currently have no plans for expanding them unfortunately.
If they’re going to do this then we need more permanent achievements, as it sits right now there is very little in game.
This is a bad design decision. I thought of all things that event rewards (silver) would at least be buffed since it’s already so unrewarding.
This is why I will never use a two-handed melee weapon, they all look so absurd when wielded.
All or nothing? This is certainly a step back. I like how you can use them in combat now but since it’s all or nothing will we be-able to see our backpiece?
I have suggested this so many times.
I’m against ninja style though, it’s absurd.
1-1+2+1-2=1, thief off hand sword confirmed.
1+
Not one but two porous bones! Yes that’s right, instead one, you loot two! That’s six-teen more copper in your pocket!
Same here, excellent connection, horrible lag.
Wildstar has a mentoring system actually. It doesn’t have a downleveling system though.
That is why I didn’t count it.
I would like to see a new class in GW2! My favourite concept for a new class that would be a very fitting and interesting addition to the current classes and their playstyle is the “Bard”, a musician that damages enemys with music and symphonies!
I tried to play the necromancer and the other two professions, but they’re so broken/unbalanced that I just can’t get immersed enough to play one for more than an hour.
Elementalist – My personal warmage, he’s my favourite, I use him for world exploration and dungeon adventure; My survivalist.
Warrior – I mainly use him for taking down hard angle combat champions.
Guardian – Just got back from a vacation in the Mad Realm. Sweeps the dirty streets of Orr with his broom—err I mean staff.
Thief – Daily interrupter, still doesn’t have an off hand sword. Currently on a charr killing vacation in Ascalon.
Mesmer – Professional dust collector.
We’re eventually going to get the Tengu, as for professions I personally think they’re fine but need a lot of balance updates as well as needing weapons expanded to them, like a dual sword necromancer or a companionless pistol ranger. Not only that but I would like different ways to play with a single weapon. Like a melee dual scepter elementalist.
I played Wildstar and to say it brings nothing to the table is an ignorant, short-sighted statement. To keep things short and simple I’m just going to make a list. Here are features that Wildstar has over Guild Wars 2
1. Challenges, timer based content that gives you an exceptional reward if completed, is repeatable.
2. Housing, though, not as good as other games; it offers new features regardless such as changing the mood. Refer to second photo
3. A 4 path system, another mini option on how to play the game
4. A complex Telegraph system, something people really underestimate a system which could help our game and end the one-shot boss auto attack crisis.
5. A costume system, no restrictions other than leveling up to unlock; refer to first photo. Sure we can transmute items but that doesn’t quite cut it
6. Emphasis on lore.
I only listed the ones I felt important. Now for features that Guild Wars 2 has over Wildstar.
1. Dynamic Events, though not rewarding enough for the time invested I suppose it could be a bit engaging but it adds a level of depth to the world that you just can’t take away.
2. Level Scaling/Mentoring. This system adds for a mass amount of re-playability, this is the only feature other than dynamic events that’s keeping me in this game.
3. Voice-acted environment.
4. Variations on different weapons.
That is about it. I tossed graphics aside, our game other than the environment doesn’t look all that great either. Didn’t list gear because I couldn’t care less about gear grind/stats, this game has it as well, they should have kept the same stat system as Guild Wars 1.
Slaying dangerous foes and loving countless women never gets old.
Sorry to be the negative force here but all those sets look like generic rubbish.
But not the backpiece Tyria needs right now.
ArenaNet should be merging stats, not creating more.
Or bring back the identify kits from Guild Wars 1
If it ever happens and we do get another playable race it would definitely be the tengu. I just don’t see Kodan happening.
I support this, there’s nothing I love more than (besides housing & writing) mixing and matching armour sets. As it stands right now there is little to no variety going on right now.
Not much of a pvper but I always enjoyed seeing this. I miss the Mad King.
CITIZENS! CITIZENS! CITIZENS! CITIZENS!

But… but we never got to see Scarlet’s taters…
Taters, later? sigh.
Delicious plump… taaaaterrrrs.
But… but we never got to see Scarlet’s taters…
I socialized with someone once, it was an awful experience.
The Shadow Behemoth should be harder to fight but not more time consuming. The giant red circles should be one shots regardless, you have all the time in the world to move out of them so why not? The portals should have more elites as well.
1. Quality content that is permanent.
2. Existing weapon expansion to all professions.
3. Risk vs. Reward addressed. Exploration should be rewarding.
This game isn’t the continuation of the first, it just stole the title and lore.
Good riddance.
I thought it was just me that the community on Tarnished Coast seemed a bit toxic. Went there From Blackgate because I didn’t want to be around any pvpers/elitists. I’ve always liked Darkhaven but the server seems so dead whenever I guest to it.
Removing the trinity was the first step in the right direction, ArenaNet just lacked the imagination to make it happen.
An option to scale the shoulder size to your liking, simple solution. Personally I’d be angry if they changed the size of my Sylvari’s shoulders, I think they’re fine the way they are.
Not at all. Although their lack of imagination for combat encounters does make the current system unforgivable at times. Nothing I hate more than “stacking up” to kill a boss.
Level twenty should have been the cap. IT should have but isn’t, suppose I’m fine with that… Just a little generic having a super high level character is all, anything over level twenty just feels entirely repetitive.
The area is apart of a dynamic event chain, if there is no Ogres then the area was claimed by the Ebon Vanguard.
