You mean this?
Dual Wielding desperately needs looking into, it just doesn’t feel right because every other game I have ever played had both weapons attacking with different attack animations so your character isn’t doing the same animation over and over in a painful chain… Come on ArenaNet! You brought us this far, why stop now?
@lothefallen.7081,1+ This is a really great post and it sums up everything about how I feel about the game right now, well done. It’s a shame all the hype-knights are completely living in denial about how shallow the game really is right now.
No, the manifesto is a fortification of lies. After playing this game since release they litterally contradicted everything they said except for the part where the world feels hand crafted & artistically stylized. I post this now because I wanted to be sure on how I felt about the game, and not act on impulse at the first sign of trouble.
I assume race would be a permanent aspect of your character. Afterall, it is bound to your personal story.
Playing a race for the personal story makes as much sense as playing world of warcraft for it’s dynamic content. Besides that I would pay for a new race to switch to that one say.. if it were a Largos or a Tengu.
I get happy…. From actual loot and good story design. Ohh and I also get happy from things that don’t clip through gear.* Also from good weapon variety/balance.*

I would definitely choose Largos as my primary character since all the other races really lack in depth, they’re too happy go lucky with the world blooming flowers everywhere they walk(especially the sylvari). Now the Largos they’re mysterious, original, and actually have exquisite voice acting along with very interesting lore which is something very hard to find in this game besides the Mursaat and the human gods. There is so much that I love about this race on so many levels and I never felt this way about any race from any fantasy story since the Angels from Diablo and the Rivarn.

My happy places I would love to see more of:
The Underworld
The Fissure of Woe
The Desolation
Ring of Fire
Realm of Torment
More of the Mad Realm.
Race: Sylvari
Gender: Male
Class: Mesmer
Weapons have become displaced on light armoured characters for the sylvari race, and others… I may have a solution, allow us to place our own weapons: Scale and adjust.
@The White Knights will be the death of this game, let go of your pride; the manifesto contradicted it’s values and you’re living proof of that. Moving on, this game needs dedicated healers, zerg reviving just doesn’t cut it. That or ArenaNet really needs to rethink combat encounters and severely reduce the particle effects on bosses.
So, what’s your favourite aspect of the game? Mine is the dynamic event system which I personally believe that most games should adopt.

I couldn’t find a kangaroo but here, it’s the thought that counts.
One of the major mechanics that they should have brought in from the original guild wars is primary and secondary professions that right there was guild wars’ bread and butter, that system would have worked wonders in this game. Also talent trees would of been great, in my opinion never walk away from talent trees, it’s like drinking your coffee without having caffeine in it.

I like this idea, most of it anyway, I’m not in favour of the “showing more skin aspect” unless you’re going for the He-man look then by all means. Personally I think the mesmers, elementalists and sandwichmancers have it great because light armour has some of the best looking pieces that you can easily mix and match but not so much for medium and heavy… Especially heavy lacking variety there. Hopefully they plan on doing something but it’s very unlikely.
@ColinJohanson, so what about actual ascended armour, any rough estimate on when we’ll see be seeing it implemented?
A big war between Jormag(Frost) and Primordius(Flame)!! :o
Good let’s hope they both take each other out so we won’t have to deal with them.
If only ArenaNet thought like the bot creators then perhaps they could one day get somewhere… You know, find out ways how to screw up, say like teleporting for example, if you teleport to x, y, z without using a waypoint or coin then the client crashes or all of your characters are locked out for a set period of time….
I always knew most humans were mentally insane…. Hehemerhahhhagahaakaaha.

I strongly believe that all the professions should be able to use all the weapons, both off and main, two and ranged. That or at least implement dual professions that share said weapons and skills.
I recently quit, my primary issue as to why is the shallow combat and the favouring of ranged combat, and the worst part of it is the devs know what’s wrong and yet they do nothing. I’ll log in only to do the daily and that’s it, collect those jugs of karma just in case they ever fix this game.
Also: the deep sea dragon DID wake up – 50 years (approximately) before GW2. It’s what drove the quaggan, krait, largos, and karka from the deep seas.
Just to correct you, the Largos were never driven from the Unending Ocean but in fact are still fighting these so called horrors of the deep sea dragon. If they were driven out then you would see an actual settlement such as the Quaggans and the Krait, many of them are explorers and hunters…. Mainly hunters.
It’s cataclysm rogues all over again! Better nerf them!
They said you could put together your own playlist, as they went on ArenaNet decided to scrap it. http://www.arena.net/blog/james-boer-talks-gw2-audio-design
Amolino put together a playlist for the players who wanted a… General idea of what they wanted so to say.
Also this guy had a good list
http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9F9ED8E83D6F80BE
I support this. It’s a crying shame ArenaNet does not pay attention to this forum section.
Realistic choices
1. Largos
2. Tengu
3. Ponies
Dream choices
1. Mursaat
2. Ghosts
3. Undead
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
@Zonzai, it’s not really a complaint it’s more of a opinion. It’s true though… Earlier I browsed through all the facial options and almost all of them looked late-twenties/middle-aged. However this is how I feel when creating a male human character in Guild Wars 2.
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
1. Cross professions or secondary professions for some. This allowed a lot of skill variety for the game, and if they would of implemented this from the start people would not be crying about lack of variety. For example if a guardian crosses with a warrior he’ll get the warrior’s weapon skills and weapon types that the guardian could not use before like off hand swords, maces, etc.
2. Actual story. I miss actually getting those quests that tell a story rather than giving you a chore list, tasks to me are a step back and to be honest I feel like a butler caring for some rich spoiled brat.
3. Separate costumes tab next to every armour piece, drag and drop for aesthetics. Light, heavy, medium all for the sake of variety. (more of a suggestion but you know what I mean, no town clothes)
4. Humanity in general, guild wars was always about the humans and the humans alone made the original story great. Charr and Asurans just seem out of place. On a side important note I miss manly looking humans. They all mostly look like pre-teens and teenagers, same for hairstyles.
I will always remember Guild Wars 2 as that game where you had to kill ten rats without a story.
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
1. An actual loot system.
1.5: If you are dual wielding you should also attack with your off hand as well, main attacks need reworked that will certainly add some joy and depth.
2. Every class that has a main one handed weapon should have an off hand of that weapon type as well, same applies to off hand weapons as well with the exception of shields, focus, and torches.
3. Player cosmetics room about five cosmetic rooms one for each major holiday, removal of transmutation stones and the town clothes window.
4. Unique legendary weapons that can only be obtained from a mixed variety of skill points, scavenger hunts, achievement points, specific essence shards from each type of monster that is a champion, complex riddles, and other things that require actual skill rather than a pocket full of spare change.
5. Dynamic events that yield challenge not mindless rushing.
6. Improved telegraphs that you can actually see.

Overall those are the things I desire to see the most.
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
I specialize with dual swords on my warrior.
You know what they say about men with big swords?
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
’What’s the fastest way to anger a norn? Tell her that you’ve never heard of her. Ahh. it’s funny because it’s true.’
‘I hear the mortality rate for Hylek is very high. They croak every night!’
‘Why can’t you borrow money from a dwarf? Because they’re always a little short.’
’What’s a norn’s favourite drink?The next one! They’re all drunk.’
‘Two quaggans were walking in a cow posture. The first one turns to the second and says, “Foo.” The other replies, “Cows say moo.” The first looks down at his flippers and says, “no, foo. poo.”’
You quit just because of expensive waypoints and no mounts?
One does not simply acquire loot in Tyria.
Indeed, one must simply record loot drops pre-15th and also since and make comparisons because thats what the game is all about. If you haven’t been keeping a record of your drops since day one, “I pity the life you’ve wasted!” (Tannis quote from BL2).
Keeping a loot record is absurd. I pity you for playing such a horrible and tasteless rather generic as well as unsophisticated game, “Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please.” ~Mark Twain.
One does not simply acquire loot in Tyria.
Definitely a reskin.
@Lorath.2504, I am merely suggesting a game that might be good and no I will never have hype for any game ever again after this wreck. Especially after the DR.
@scootshoot.6583, thank you! Someone with some common sense here, I was never an Elder Scrolls fan but I did think Skyrim looked amazing as a gamer I go out and try every game that I can because I’m always looking for ways to have fun, also to find a game that caters to one’s play style so that there is a lot of variety going on out there.
@DarksunG.9537, I find it extremely intriguing that you thought I was implying that TESO will be the next bringer of mmos, I do agree with scootshoot.6583 that the game won’t be that popular at launch but is that going to stop me from trying it out? No, but again it’s healthy for someone to go out and play another game for awhile and I never implied that I was leaving either that is like saying “lmfao all other films suck, Lord of the Rings4life” and by implying that shows how much fanboys annoy the hell out of me to the point I don’t even like watching that film anymore since that mainly shows that the community is biased toward other people/films, who the hell only watches one film for countless hours? Fandom is a scourge.
Now for those of you wondering why I called this game a living breathing cliche is so ~gandalfing~ obvious even you should see it, I’ll give you a hint: Things that fly, things that breath fire and things that most generic fantasy games play out. Next the story of every race is great at the start then the orders of Tyria come in and any hope of your “personal story: it’s really all about you” is smashed and the main star becomes Trahearne, the hero must put aside his current mantle and become the war HERO he was destined to become and yeah your just here for the ride. Is that cliche enough? Now for the thriving contradiction remark, I’m not even going to give my personal opinion on this for the fear of I would be here too ~gandalfing~ long, instead I’ll just quote the developers and post pictures with quotes.
“We just don’t want players to grind in Guild Wars 2. No one enjoys that. No one finds it fun.” ~Colin Johanson
“As a structure, the MMO has lost the ability to make the player feel like a hero. Everybody around you is doing the same thing you are doing. The boss you just killed respawns ten minutes later. It doesn’t care that I’m there.”
“We do not want to build the same MMO everyone else is building, and in Guild Wars 2, it’s your world. It’s your story. You affect things around you in a very permanent way.”
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
This game has great graphics, great game play, and the best sounds I have had in a game in a long time. The classes are fun to play. What the game lacks…purpose. This game is one big grind. The quest or hearts are just cut and pasted, they are the same from one to 80. The personal storyline starts off slightly different then quickly becomes the same story for all chars. This game will be short lived IMHO amongst the hardcore gamers. I don’t like to have to grind for gold. I rather grind for my level. Honestly some of the graphics for gear are awful. Then there is community, guilds don’t even have a guild hall, let alone a reason to really banned together. Peeps on the battle field have very little to group unless your friends. Then there is The Hall of Monuments or as it should be refereed to is the Hall of Wasted time in GW1. 3 out of 5 stars from me. Already looking to see what is coming out in the near future in the MMO world.
Elder Scrolls Online, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLp0ykvotEI&list=FLNJi0oNtThGb2cGacQxKdyA&index=10, that video cleared most of my doubts about the game. I feel as if ArenaNet wanted to be so unique that they actually created a living breathing cliche as well as a thriving contradiction.
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
There’s a reason why no other game does this. Penalizing players for how they want to play is never a good idea.
Introducing a sword offhand.
/Signed
As for S/P, S/D: rework pistol whip to be exactly the same as Blurred Frenzy, instant and convenient, flanking strike should be exactly the same as serpent’s strike, just with an off hand poke and without the snake.
/Signed.
Assassin. Just take every reference from the profession in GW1.
Lead/Off/Dual attacks and the combinations you could pull off is what I miss most.
We have one, it’s called a Thief.
Here is how the game currently runs.
Support: Heals you barely feel, abilities that barely help you.
Control: Pointless.
Damage: Melee gets one shot, dodging still doesn’t work. Ranged is actually mandatory
Arenanet should just implement healers already, getting one shot isn’t fun, nor is laying on the ground throwing trash at your target then hopelessly dying like a fragile child ripe for slaughter. Dying on your feet is the way to go, fight to survive mechanic is inconvenient. Also do not say “L2play” it’s the bitter truth, the combat in this game is flawed and do not get me wrong I love the hell out of this game, played over 850 hours, savouring the greatness this game has to offer.
@Narcemus.1348, Stargate is amazing, although I’m not sure if the Asura gates are inspired by it or not but they certainly do share similarities, would of been great if they just of added one gate in each area and had a Dial-Home-Device to travel area to area. That is probably why I dislike the Asura since the Replicators had that name. However If they do make Largos playable I’m definitely naming mine Todd.
This is what a Largos would appear to look like without his mask. They would very much look like the Wraith from Stargate Atlantis… Just wingless.
