Personally I would do a review for this game but there are sooo many negative things I would say about this game, not because I hate it or anything… It’s just true in a way. This game was truly a force not to be reckoned with when it was in beta, but if I had to blame something, it would be legendaries with neglect to pvp & horrid class design coming at a tie for second.
@Lotro fans, agreed, I loved the scenery in lotro, simply amazing, even rivals gw2 in a way. Dam shame character models were painful to look at. *Edit, they’re looking into New character models.

What kind of dark? Don’t Starve Dark or Snowblind Fractal dark? Imagine lighting effects at nighttime, scarey beasts as well would make for a nice addition.
None of them. Because none of them have a story.
Per Merriam-Webster:
Legendary: “of, relating to, or characteristic of legend or a legend”
Legend: “a story coming down from the past; especially : one popularly regarded as historical although not verifiable”
1+, I just laugh at games now when they slap on the “legendary” brand without ever trying to attempt writing a story for it. Look at the Ashbringer, Sohothin & Magdaer, Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker, Excalibur… I’m just gonna stop there..
It was alright, it was kind of like an old school history channel documentary.
Light Aromor: Three Classes
Medium Armor: Three Classes
Heavy Armor: Two ClassesIdeas?
Dark Paladin, Dark Templar, Dark Knight, Death Knight, etc?
Is it me or is it a little… Dark in here? However, besides that god awful pun I say there will definitely be new classes/professions in the future expansions.

Took you 3.5 months to get the best skins in the game? Most other MMOS would have taken that time to get a full set of gear alone…
Just imagine trying to get a full set of legendary armour. Now that would be interesting to see.
The Sylvari are a decent race but I somehow feel as if they cut quite a few corners when designing this race, if I had to say at least one corner cutting method it would be that the human and Sylvari character animations are almost identical at least for combat and all other animations excluding the running and dancing animations. Rehashed models drive me to be quite incensed. I rather like the old models as well because it actually fit the concept art and at least for me they looked more distinct, they looked more peaceful and more belonging to nature.
I’m all for new armor…At lvl 80, full exotics (karma) light armor, the skins are all the same… Whether you get it from Arah, or Grenth, or Melandru….
It would have been much better (opinion alert) if each one had their own “special” armor. Something “growing” for melandu, and “deathly” for Grenth, and maybe something like a Battle Mage for Balthazar, but sadly, no… they’re all the same.
.
This.

Hey everyone is entitled to their own opinions and you’re certainly welcomed to not like Guild Wars 2, I’m just saying that from my perspective Neverwinter combat is actually dull, among the most dull “action combat” I’ve ever played in fact. And yet when you stop to think about it there are actually few functional differences between the system of that game and this one, with most just being the way the controls are presented.
I guess mobility means a lot to me.
It’s all about perspective wherever you go. I like guild wars, this game has potential and there is a lot of things I love about it(level scaling, open world) and quite a few things I really hate about it(off hand rarely gets used, misplaced weapons), I will admit there is a lot of crap about Neverwinter that I really don’t like such as convenient zooming & weapon variety. However I’m more tactical along the lines of “choose wisely” but not turn based…. bloody turn base games. I’m farrrrr too impatient for things like that.
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
What’s the first thing you’re going to do?
I would fire the guys who are responsible for the horrible combat system and then hire the guys from Neverwinter.

Oh wow this profession is already dead lol, you want to add salt to the wound as well? I can take out any thief out there even if I were to be in greens and they had full blown ascended I could still even give them a run for their money. This profession in my honest opinion needs to be revamped. It isn’t skill, it isn’t a learn to play problem, it’s a broken class problem along with engineers & rangers.
We’re getting ready to fight Trahearne(who is secretly Vizier Khilbron) and his horde of brainwashed pact disciples. With the dragons awakening, He saw this as an opportunity to win the heart of Tyria by taking the credit for the killing of Zhaitan. You also fight Destiny’s Edge before you finally reach him, you must put them out of their misery since their assassinations; the Lich Khilbron who saw this as yet another window of opportunity to raise his perfect champions. However It all boils down to a Mursaat conspiracy dealing with the extinction of all life on Tyria. The dragons which are actually the guardians of Tyria, saw this evil coming from ages in the unknown prophesies.

I play this game for the dynamic content; the open world. I love the fact that I can return to any zone at any given level because of the scaling system as opposed to other games once you’re finished you really have no reason to return. The sense of exploration that every other game lacks.
Waste of developer time in my honest opinion.
Its only a small team probably of only 5 to 10 people out of 300 or more. Leaderboards are in other games that want to be competitive such as Starcraft and WoW. Pretty much any game with PvP has leaderboards.
Still a waste of time, they could be doing far more important things… and stuff. Stuff and things.
What may be important to you is not always what is important to everyone else. Such as Twilight movie I consider a total waste of money and hurts society then benefits. Does that mean my opinion is more important then someone else’s? No it wouldn’t as long as it does not directly effect me. My girlfriend loves twilight but as long as she doesn’t force me to watch it or anything similar to it they can keep making the movies.
I am a competitive player and love to see where I stand on the leaderboards. Such as when Command and Conquer comes out I will be playing it to no end just to make sure I stay on top. If the game is too easy I do not find that it can offer me anything to learn from.
Good for you son, you sure did take things out of context. AN could have worked on something far more important than this such as a lfg tool which I’m sure they already have people working on it but what about event leaderboards? To see whose the top player that put in the most effort. Or a improved black lion market? Being able to separate armours would be nice amongst other things as well. Personally I would love an improved achievement panel, being able to compare and inspect other players would be just great. I’m not even going to think about profession imbalance. Now I said it was a waste of time but I don’t hate it; just saying other things have priority over it.

@Odd, I like them either way, just as long as they’re done right.

Extraordinary post, I agree completely. On an unrelated note, I would like to see town clothes removed. I feel as if they would do this they would actually make some money with the holiday clothes and open up a new window of opportunity for themselves like in the original Guild Wars.
Waste of developer time in my honest opinion.
Norns are like like giant dwarves. They totally act like that. I don’t think they will add dwarves to the playable ones.
Norn are french viking pansies, you deserved to be slapped for that comment.
The Image below depicts my Issue clearly. However, for all of you that have an issue, please post a tissue. If you didn’t understand the idiom that means post a similar image describing your problem.
Suggestion leading to a solution: Allow us to adjust our own weapons, side to side, up-down, simple rotation, whatever gets the job done.
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
Hold on, I want to change my choices.
1. Dwarves, every curse can be undone. The best depiction of the dwarves I have ever seen was in a film called “The Hobbit”, I was blown away on how well done they were, I certainly hope people take after that sort of detail.
2. Largos, you all already know why.
3. Tengu, I love variety!
I know this isn’t Middle Earth’s lore but it was inspired though, but how Jackson brought those characters to life was simply amazing! Those Dwarves were so badarse, I don’t even think elves can fight that well.
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
In my honest opinion, this game is underrated. Although I can see why people tend to be angry with it.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. I love chaos and dynamics, the things that make guild wars what it is. This game holds a special place in my heart since it is an ever changing world, the thing mmo-gamers really strive for.
Can someone explain to me how this game has any sort of grind? I haven’t grinded for a single thing thus far.
When I read that I literally threw my hands up in the air and said: “I’m done!” /thread, I’m out.

I’m not sure if this would be a good idea… Here are some of the things people would want that look rather ridiculous.
Don’t Ever Be Sorry.
Tengu? Perhaps later because I like my KFC fried chicken crispy. Now I would certainly like to see the Largos become playable since all of my characters are just placeholders waiting for something like that to happen… we’ll probably never see any new races in the future unfortunately.
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
I still barely play, log in to do the daily and that’s about it. Only problems I have with the game is the combat, clipping, and weapon stances.
Straight outta WoW, looks like Braham got bored of crafting and raiding. Came here instead and brought his favourite items with him.
I like how he’s rocking the Titansteel Destroyer and Neverending Winter. He certainly is an ex-crafter and raider of WoW.

Race: Human
Gender: Male
Class: Mesmer
Weapons disappear into leg gear, doesn’t matter what leggings unless it’s completely plain like a normal pear of “jeans”. Doesn’t matter what class, weapons sink into the leggings of anything robe like.
Again I have a solution, please forward this suggestion: Allow us to adjust our weapons(left & right are separate) so we can fix our own problems.
More grind, added ascended gear, dailies are mandatory, game is not alt friendly.
Enjoy ^^
Ohh Rukia, you always beat me to it.
Children in lingerie and a ridiculous healing concept? No. Just no. This post riddles with immaturity. When Tera went F2P I was interested(for the action combat), then I got in game and saw these little girls running around in lingerie amongst other races as well; even men. Children running rampant through the game will break immersion. GG korea, you’ll never make a decent mmorpg or game for that matter, Ever.
I haven’t seen any female Tengu in game…
They’re all in the kitchen holding to their own responsibility.
Just seeing how this thread’s been active for so long just goes to show they don’t give two steaming golems about their own story… or someone else’s perhaps?
Militant here then again like it really matters. Your personality in this game doesn’t mean a cholerny thing. You will always act like a adolescent teenager with the same carebear defiant attitude, with Trahearne being your babysitter.
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
Spoiler! Trahearne is actually Vizier Khilbron in disguise. Quite sneaky of him to take advantage of a new race.
I have a viable and convenient solution! They should just allow us to purchase the ascended gear at three times the cost of exotic gear karma wise, 126,000 a piece; I think that is reasonable and just allow the Laurels for the purchase of vanity items such as cosmetic armour/weapons.
The first GW had a war, between guilds, that finished before the events of the first game.
This is a alternate sequel to that game.
Fixed. However it is very strange to not include some type of guild vs. guild system or toggle an option in the guild panel to wage war on other guilds that you’ve come in contact with.
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
The Asura were probably the worst addition to the lore of guild wars, a large portion of them are horribly written in every possible way imaginable. It’s like ArenaNet went to the Nickelodeon studio to recruit some of their writers.
I would save guild wars 2 from Ree Soesbee, stop the guy who created the asura and would convince ArenaNet to side with another publisher. * Oh and I would save Rurik, I’d also destroy Trahearne’s seedpod.
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
Perhaps you should have stayed… IN THE MOUNTAINS!
It would be nice to be able to inspect other players, look at their achievements, see what they transmuted, how good their gear is, or anything that marks personal achievement or seeing if they’re wearing full trash gear in a dungeon which would be very helpful. It’s sometimes like a death knight trying to tank with full dps/heals gear while in unholy presence.
**It should have been implemented at launch, why they didn’t I have no clue.
(edited by Nightarch.2943)
Guild Wars 2 is just an alternate reality story to the first game, usually sequels are supposed to be successors but apparently not in this case. Sure it has superior game play but story….. Just no.
It has the potential and it would need to be done right for it to work efficiently. I kind of feel that this aspect is what made guild wars what it was. Granted of course they would have to rework the traits…. Which in my opinion would be a good thing despite how a vast majority of them are rather useless anyway but what it all truly boils down to is: “Play how you want to play and have fun doing it” aspect which I really think the game is direly deprived of right now. I welcome it and would dish out some currency to help make that happen.

@Egon, I apologize for the rough approach LOL! I value honest opinions and that was mine questioning you as to why they’re like the…. Q’s from Mass effect, you just didn’t provide enough information and you still don’t. The Quarians are more like the Vanir from Stargate Atlantis imo. Also this is the lore forum, no one barely posts in it let alone moderate it. To be technical derailing the topic would to go and create your own topic and post matters there instead but since it’s all in the same thread it’s rather relevant. It’s like saying the charr are a clone of the tauren with catlike features added to them or the sylvari are a stolen concept from the dark age of camelot’s sylvan without backing yourself up.
@Olaf Egon Wein, LOL! It’s perhaps the most exquisite race I’ve seen in any game to date. Just pathetic, how about some elucidation to validate you’re claims as to why they’re an aion knock off/massafail. Dark elves? Since it has pointy ears so it must be an elf…. Ha idiotic! Now if you think they’re wings you’re obviously suffering some severe brain damage, those are fins quite honestly I must say, what an utter laughable excuse for trolling I have ever seen.
