Cool deal. Thanks folks.
I’ll try both those things. It’s still it’s pretty annoying though. :p
Anyone else getting the, “You have placed too many sell orders too quickly. Please wait a few minutes before attempting to sell again.” error way too often? It seems like I get it every time I use the BLTC.
Known bug or by design?
So I would really like to hear from the rest of you (especially those who actually played gw1) what your expectations were, were they meet, why or why not, and what are your plans/expectations going forward (give it up, play something else, keep playing, etc).
I was a long time GW1 player. Loved it.
I heard a lot of speculation about GW2. Player housing, persistent giant world, immersive story telling, tons of non combat activities, etc, etc. All of which was way premature considering how little information was actually available back then.
I was a bit too trusting then and bought into a lot of it. I walked into this game expecting the king of all MMOs. Instead what I got was a solid game that is fun to play on and off. If you got cash it makes it even better but all-in-all it’s fairly enjoyable on its own.
I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed in where the game is today as to where I thought it would be in year 3. I’ll keep looking for that ultimate MMO experience and if I find it GW2 will have been a good experience, but just another game.
TLDR; Thought GW2 would be an A+ game but instead it’s a B-. Good. Not Great.

I was actually a bit surprised to hear him speak, and very clearly at that. Granted, we know the dragons are intelligent and capable of speech. Zhaitan was probably too rotten or wasn’t interested in taunting us (and at the point where we meet him he is weakened and probably in WTFWTFWTFWTF panic mode).
Actually, I think that goes against what we’re supposed to know about them so far. Until now, they’ve been shown as more animalistic, just raw forces of nature and destruction. With Zhaitan, it was his underlings that were smart and thought for him, which is part of the reason why he was able to be taken down like that at the end. We didn’t just starve him, we lobotomized him by cutting him off from his smart minions.
Mordremoth is the dragon of mind, though, and he may be able to think for himself more than the others can. If he gains the knowledge of any sylvari he corrupts, then he’ll know all about us and the world at large already. I’m sure he’ll want to exchange a few words with the people that killed Zhaitan, and be smart enough to use an avatar when he does so.
Or we couldn’t hear Zhaitan speak because we don’t have undead characters? Only reason we can hear Mordremoth is because we have dragon minion characters, if we were allowed to make Frostbrood or Branded characters we’d probably hear Jormag and Kralkatorrik as well.
That aside, Mordremoth might not even be “speaking”. It’s presented to us as words, but that’s probably because there’s no other way for ANet to really describe a dragon trying to impose its will on our characters.
Actually the developers have stated that all the dragons can speak and are in fact more intelligent than mortals can even comprehend, they’re basically gods, just not the nice kind.
They don’t normally speak to us though, because the dragons consider themselves so far above the mortal races as to have no reason to ever communicate with us. It’d be like an exterminator talking with ants. However I’m betting that changed when we killed Zhaitan, now we’re a threat, and we’re going to hear Mordremoth and the other dragons speak a lot more often.
I thought the dragons were originally designed to be like “forces of nature” and not necessarily intelligent. If so then that has obviously changed with Mordremoth.
What happened to “shaving power” through gradual, balanced nerfs?
What happened to not making entire skills useless?
LOL
Yeah but then they couldn’t drop they mic and looks so cool for the 13 year old fan boys. And really isn’t that what it’s really all about?
I never really used Ice Bow anyway.
The guy that made the announcement seemed like a real kitten though. Maybe he was just nervous about being on camera and it just came out wrong. idk.

I love it!
He seems so threatening and imposing. The voice feels spot on and I really like that he seems to be so much more than the original design of the dragons.
I hate to be this guy but just be glad you didn’t get “dragonhunter” or “daredevil”.
I do pity the guardians and thieves. Both those names are embarrassingly bad. Druid has some lore behind it as well as a place in MMO history.
I would honestly rather choose a name like Treehunter over only getting one BWE for testing and iteration.
lol
I’m not sure we’ve seen too many drastic changes to any elite spec so far. However, Anet does value the “iteration process” so even after release I think they’d be willing to change things up if they wanted to.
I’m not 100% convinced they will actually do so by community feedback. I mean look at how many negative post there are about the dragonhunter name. I’d say most actual changes won’t come until months after release and highly doubt “name changes” are on the table. Actual game play and design may mean more to them.
That’s not really any consolation though is it.

They said the voice of Jennah would be RETURNING! So she’s in HoT story at some point……..
Well, maybe we’ll be lucky and it’s just her death scene.
:D
I may be mistaken but aren’t elite specializations suppose to be better than standard classes?
If you’re comparing Scrapper to Dragonhunter (/barf that name is so bad) that’s a different story.
So with all the changes to the XP Boosters what is the most efficient XP Booster combo now?
Nah, I played for an hour or so and literally didn’t get a thing so I just went back to farming my favorite spots and leveling alts.
I’m a little disappointed but I can’t say it really bugged me. Cool idea but it just didn’t do anything for me with out the rewards.
People having been raising this complaint since the original Beta.
So far nothing. I have to assume it is functioning as they intended.
However, I do agree it is WAY to much. Maybe once day we’ll get a slider or something. Maybe.
Its a minor inconvenience. Nothing more.
My broken Razer Naga disagrees.
But that may be from the thousands of other single action clicks I’ve had to do in game as well. A “consume all” button would be a huge quality of life improvement.
Or it could be that you bought a razer naga, they are notorious for being cheaply made.
I’m sure that’s all it is.
No chance at all that it’s the thousands upon thousands of clicks I’ve done opening bags in this game had anything to do with it.
I bet if I just left that mouse on my desk it would have broke anyway. Geeze what was I thinking.
It probably would have, and I’ve had my mouse for over 3 years, zero problems(it’s a standard Alienware mouse) and I’ve clicked with that thing over several 100 thousand times, if not at least a million(not hard to do when you do everything but type by mouseclick). I think those that blame this game for breaking their mice have just not bought the right kind of mouse, it’s that simple…the simpler the mouse, the less chance of it breaking.
As for the ToK, I don’t even bother to save mine anymore, I just use them and get another Spirit Shard that I have no use for either, but it’s better than the ToK taking up slots in my bank. As for leveling, I do it the old fashioned way, but I don’t do story steps until I’ve outleveled two or 3 chapters, then blow through those all at once.
Product loyalty aside, this game could still use a quality of life improvident by having a “consume/use all” options. If for nothing other than streamlining “content” that is either inconsequential or annoying.
I’m sure something like this is VERY low on Anet’s priority list but count my vote for it being worth the development time. For whatever that is worth.
EDIT: And to be clear I don’t blame GW2 for my mouse breaking. I bought both the mouse and the game so I knew what I was getting into. I do consider it a bit more than a “…minor inconvenience” though.

The new ones look good.

I still would like to see more customization options though.
This is seriously the best guild I’ve ever been apart of. Friendly, kind, and very helpful players are everywhere.
My wife and I joined about two years ago and we have been involved in a host of mission and are never left out or behind. If you want a real family atmosphere with great people then I highly recommend Gaiscioch.
I’m wanting to farm some creatures with Yellow Names around Tyria. Anyone know of a map I could use or just some locations that have an excessive amount of them?
How about they add a little cut scene and a merchant that works as a guild banner basically.
Maybe add a way to spawn gifts and boosters at the ceremony location (for a nominal fee of course)
(edited by Prophet.6257)
Sorry, when I head daredevil all I can think of was a stunt man.
This spec does look like the game play will be a lot of fun though but it is going to be a little off putting for me every time I see it. At least it’s not as bad as dragonhunter I suppose.
(edited by Prophet.6257)
Anyone else think this name sounds pretty corny? I mean the spec looks awesome but the name… eh. I mean it’s not as bad as dragonhunter but it’s a close 2nd imo.
Were the Hero points suppose to be reset during this update or is it a bug?
Not that it’s that big of a deal considering we can just reassign the points but just curious.
EDIT: nm it is a bug. I can’t reassign the points.
2nd Edit: All fixed. And pretty good turn around time imo.
(edited by Prophet.6257)
I wish there was a tab to turn on/off all particle effects and each piece of the UI individually.
Not sure exactly but it’s a couple hundred dollars.
Maybe $500 at this point? idk.
With the new Guild Emblem Contest going on do we have any information on Anet adding more guild emblems to the game or allowing players more customization options?
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/announcing-the-guildwars2-guild-emblem-contest/
ty, now I got to put in a support ticket. lol
Why’s that?
They’d have automatically been added to your wallet.
Oh! Even better. Thank you.
What a cool feature.
ty, now I got to put in a support ticket. lol
Were scrolls of knowledge removed or replaced?
B/c mine are gone and I’m not seeing any consumable that replaced them.
I really hope they add this feature to the game. I really feel that if they implement it correctly it could generate revenue and excitement for the game.
Obviously not everyone is going to care and they can always do something else. Will it take up some development time? Sure, but it also adds some well needed depth to Tyria. Plus, since it is primarily cosmetic it would fit the revenue model Anet has already implemented.
I mean right now we’re all just a bunch of homeless murders.
Yes, but I think it is still unofficial. So everything on here is subject to change.
“Hero Points are earned by leveling up or by completing Hero Challenges (previously Skill Challenges) throughout the world. The Training tab is locked until your character reaches level 11. In order to make this change, Antitoxin Spray has been removed from the game.”
Can I have my 25 skill points or 5 Gold coin + 250 Pristine Toxic Spore Samples back please?
Not a demand or anything. It would just be nice.
I doubt the citizens of LA care much about the Pact while they are living in burned out homes and morning their lost loved ones.
For the players it’s their choice. Help LA or keep on fighting the Modrem in the new zones. Personally, I’ll be rebuilding LA.
Are we going to get some HoT gear when the expansion drops?
Some shirts like these discussed a LONG time ago would be cool. I’m not sure what the price range should be or anything but having some official gear avaliable would be pretty cool imo.
Maybe add it here: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/shop/

I think every single one of these is x100 better than “dragonhunter”…
Good gods that name is so bad. I still can’t believe Anet, of all companies, would be so cheesy.
Also since Eir did not show any interest in her child, and he himself did not knew who his mother was, until he was seven, there is no real reason to name Braham after his mother.
This was my thought on the matter for sure.
However, I wonder if in Norn culture a person is “named” by family accomplishment over lineage.
I have used 5 charges since they introduced the new system.
I just wish we has an actual wardrobe instead of what we got.
Oh well…
I think this could be a good opportunity for Anet to get some of this side of the communities support back. A name change would show they are still listening.
Assuming it’s what the majority of people who actually play Guardian want that is.
I think the name should be changed. It sounds cheesy and generic.
I expect the name “dragon hunter” to be the name of a class in some kind of facebook game.
Care to go the the post saying that its a good name and repeat yourself.
Or you could since you found it. No need to make me do all the work.
lol, fair enough.
Care to go the the post saying that its a good name and repeat yourself.
I’m sorry it just sounds horrible to me. Just my opinion but yuck. It’s too specific. Most of the names are fairly general and feel a LOT more creative than “dragon hunter”.
With all of that said the actual design of the specialization seems pretty cool. So on that front, well done Anet.
My drop rate is usually pretty good…
…but not for the portal. I’ll spend a bit more time trying to get one but I’m content just waiting until an open beta.
In all honesty I do like what they are going for but it seems a little too hard to get in a reasonable amount of time but that may be the point. And it does explain the “thoughts on RNG” post we had from the devs a little while back.
RNG as a concept: Discuss: (John Smith)

I’d love to see this in PvE! I see why it wouldn’t work in PvP but the idea is great.
Tragedies happens every single day.
Going by this logic they would never be able to release anything at all, since it will always be possible to make a connection to said tragedy.
+1
Relax folks.
We just had a string of terrible plane crashes, including one last week. How does something so insensitive slip through?
The German forums, where people apparently had family members affected by this tragedy, are really upset: https://forum-de.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Un-gl-cklicher-Aprilscherz.
Come on man.
…player spectators for the arena matches! just walk into the arena on your character, take a seat and enjoy the fights.
This!
I love it. It adds a good amount of depth to the world.
I’d also love to have a /cheer or /boo option that kept rolling for a bit. Adding some crowd noise. Maybe have a mode that allows spectators to throw single use weapons in the arena too.
