I hope they add a new champ train to another zone.
I doubt it…
I have to give Anet more credit than to… rehash… content…
never mind.
(In all seriousness though I doubt we will se another attack at the queens festival. Too predictable and this isn’t suppose to be the start of Season 2. Just a festival. So relax and enjoy your easy loot.)
Less rainbows and flowers please.
Yeah because we totally don’t have enough fire.
I request a rainbow flame legendary!
B/c the only other option besides rainbows and flowers is fire… -_-
Maybe some crystal, arcane, earth, ooze, magitech, desert, etc.

Less rainbows and flowers please.
Same here.
50 bucks for an entire continent and everything that comes with it? Sign me up!It would really suck to be the people who need to 100% map completion after than expansion launches.
GW1 handled that pretty easily.
Just have map completion based on each continent.
What I want in this games is:
1.) New races
2.) New land to explore
3.) News skills
4.) New weapons
5.) New dynamic events
6.) Well written and deep lore that is expressed in every aspect of new content. Some shallow content is fine but depth is needed.
If that comes in a box expansion, I’ll buy it. If it’s free, I’ll take it. I just want more to do in Tyria and I am willing to pay for that.
… can they please not have the usual rectangular shape? Using mountain ranges to mark the borders of zones is so incredibly clunky. I’d like to see a smooth transition from a zone to another without the need to border the map with hills on every side.
This!
With such a creative team I thought they would come up with a better way to do zones…
well to be honest I was really disappointed we had “zones” at all. I thought Tyria this time around would be an open world. But That is just going to be something this world is lacking (VERY disappointing).
I don’t know what else they could do but a more random shape to the mountains would be a good start.
I was wondering if anyone knows what armor set this is and is it available for player characters?
SO i got a elementalist and a warrior to lvl 30 but I dont know which on to stick with, i cant tell which will be better. can some one tell me the advantages of each. Like which has better DPS, PVP, and dungeons. I also constantly play with my friend who is a guardian so i don’t worry about solo playing.
I have leveled both to 80 (my first 2 characters too).
I would suggest Elementalist as your main to start though. It is very squishy and will require you to get a feel for moving, dodging, and knowing your skill rotation. This will help you in the future as you level more alts.
I did world completion with my norn warrior and it was a lot of fun. Very strong, and I felt pretty bad-a against most mobs. However, Warrior may teach you some bad habits that will negatively affect your game play in other classes.
Just my personal experience though. Choose what YOU have the most fun at.
Chuck Norris would kick both their kitten s.
Chuck Norris got beaten senseless by Bruce Lee.
Then Bruce Lee died…
Coincidence? I think not.
I have read the books. Sea of Sorrows was my favorite btw.
I do find it strange that LA would have so many outpost all over the place with no real interest of its own. Unless they struck some deal the the queen, Mother Tree, and Knut Whitebear off screen or something.
(well maybe not Knut considering how the norn leadership works)
And as far as I could tell LA doesn’t just exist in Krytan territory but it is its own independent state now.
Well crud…
Personally, I have always checked where each races military was stationed and assumed that they would only dedicate resources to defending their own territory so in my mind I just kind of made note of it.
With that said, LA seems to control a fairly diverse territory…. or did. I’m not sure how that works with LA’s current condition. Anyway, they have outpost in Kessex, Queensdale, Gendarran, Lornar’s, Snowden, and Caledon.
Anyone know of a fan made map that may cover those type things?
I was wondering does anyone know the official national boundaries in Tyria?
My suggestion is guilds created by Anet to move more content to players directly. Basically, Anet would create some specialty guilds (and increase the guild limit) based on in universe entities such as the Lion Guard, Zepherytes, Modus Sceleris, etc (maybe even some race specific ones). These guilds would have an unlimited roster and deliver content directly to its members. They could start new and unique world events and have a chance at special rewards (like custom gear, consumables, or colored titles). Maybe randomly throughout the day the NPC guild leaders could send a mail to players actively representing the guild to meet them at x location to do some special mission.
Anyway, just a thought I had. Hope it at least sparks some ideas or something.
Any recent news on this?
People will moan regardless of what Anet says or does. Virtually all MMOs have their army of career complainers.
It’s not just in video games but all over the place. My locale college team’s former coach called them the “legions of the miserable”. Although it is true some just complain to complain others do so because they still care and want to see a game (team, company, political party, etc) do better. It shows they are still invested.
But like in sports all Anet has to do is start winning. Start implementing things the majority of the fan base wants and a lot of the negativity will fall into the background.
Sanctum of Rall has a consistent train going at almost all hours…
but I’m not really sure what that means with the megaservers now. I mean it’s not really SoR’s server anymore.
I wonder if that is one of the reasons for the megaservers OP.
Let’s hope so. I can’t wait to explore more of Tyria.
I’d like to see some more traditional RPG/fantasy gear. Robes for light armor, plate mail for heavy, and just any kind of variety for medium. Those poor guys/gals are stuck with very little options.
Any gear that is in general more masculine would be very nice. It feels like the vast majority of outfits in this game are feminine. They also seem very busy. Maybe take a more simplistic approach for the next series of armors they release.
It seems like the devs have hidden a lot of cool little things in the game that often go unnoticed (like the swinging boys). So, I was wondering what are the strangest things you have seen in game?
Mine were these little metal charr figurines :
Don’t forget you get to fight a bunch of champs that spawn around then…
except those champs don’t drop loot bags. So… nm
You don’t now.
The only way to get gold at a reasonable (and legal) rate now is to exchange real world money for gems and then gems for gold.
As of today you can buy 1 gold for .16 cents from Anet’s gems. Sorry.
Well considering I make upwards of 20g still per temple run and much more than that on the trading post, this post I am quoting is incorrect.
You make more than 20 gold per run? And Anet nerfed Champion farming b/c it was OP… makes sense.
Guess I need to just do that from now on.
GW2 has problems but remember it’s F2P. So in the future their may be an update that fits you better. Maybe check in every now and then to see if any good changes come your way.
Don’t forget the supply of crafting materials, weapons, armor etc will go down without people farming them.
Ok Lockon here is the secret.
Go play the trading post. If you can, get your guild together and manipulate the market like Team Legacy did when the game first launched. That should net you a lot of coin and screw as many people in the community as possible. If you want to do it legit just watch items on 3rd party sites that track those sort of things.
This should help you get started:
Track Profit Margins:

Historical and Current Market Analysis:

Lol! Prophet……….nope
Dungeons are a good source. Also Fractals. Demand on everything is up now, so selling materials is good money.
Dungeons? You can’t be serious. 1-3 gold a run. pssh
Material farms aren’t bad but very time consuming not exactly the most exciting thing to do. Although the exploration aspect of it could be cool I suppose.
You don’t now.

Well, playing the markes works in a lot of ways. You don’t neccessearily need to start spending all your spare time sitting infront of price lists (even though a lot of the more profitable areas involve the trading post), there is some decent crafting, mystic forging, gathering (for example certain cooking ingredients), salvaging and sure, the most profitable of all (given that you already have a decent amount of gold to spare) : speculation.
Still, the gold nerf shouldn’t do too much harm since a few gold sinks like repairs are gone and they need to make up for that somehow.
I really doubt the few gold sinks that have been removed off set the complete nerf of every way people farmed for gold in this game. I can’t remember the last time I even needed to repair or respec my characters. This will end up pushing players toward playing the market and gold sellers. The one thing it sure doesn’t do is encourage people to actually play the game. Add better loot to dynamic events and add more events if that is Anets big deal in GW2.
Everyone I play with has one.
Personally, it completely changed the game for me. I love it.
I love the update. I know of several zones that on my server are just empty all the time.
My only concern is for RP game play. Something as simple as a new chat window would help a lot. Maybe add an RP tab (or box like you can with “whisper”, “say” , etc)so players can enjoy that mode and not get a lot of crap from the rest of the player base.

I wish the soft trinity GW2 was trying to do was more pronounced.
To be completely honest GW2 is all about DPS, but as a player who likes to solo a lot I’m ok with that for now. It does get a little old sometimes but I wouldn’t have a clue on what they could do to fix it without bringing back the trinity.
I think what you may be looking for is Quickness(attack speed) and Vigor (endurance “dodge” regeneration)
Quickness: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Quickness
Endurance: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Endurance
With so many new Traits coming on April 15th we may have some more ways to get this as well. You can also mix certain skills with quickness such as Hundred Blades if you were so inclined.
Some things that could help in this area are:
10% Chance on Critical: Gain Quickness (3 Seconds)
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Sigil_of_Rage
You have a 25% chance to gain quickness on a critical hit.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Critical_Haste
When you use a healing skill you gain 50% endurance.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Superior_Rune_of_the_Adventurer
Your endurance is refilled each time you kill a foe.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sigil_of_Stamina
Gain 50% of your endurance when you swap to this weapon while in combat.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Sigil_of_Energy
100% chance to gain might when you dodge, +40% to your Endurance refill rate.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Bowl_of_Orrian_Truffle_and_Meat_Stew
Frostgorge Farm. It’s pretty profitable for now. If your going to do it I would try before the April 15th update that nerfs Champions a bit.

Way to be pushing your guild everywhere, Prophet. >.>
Crystal Desert is a good server, friendly people, it’s formerly one of the tops, but it’s fallen by the wayside and could use some loyal love again.
And to you pushing your server.
I’ve just had a good experience with them and that’s not always been the case for me so I just wanted to show some love ya’ know.
Sanctum of Rall, Gaiscioch (GSCH) has a really good community. Some of the nicest people I’ve ever played an MMO with. Plus we are very active and have events running several times a week. The Great Tyrian Adventure is really cool. We are a little more active in PvE right now though, but the WvW community may just be a little set back for the time being.
I solo play 99% of the time as well with the occasional temporary meeting up with players at random as I help them out with events or things they are too low level to be doing in the first place
Harathi Hinterlands is fantastic for solo play. I solo the event chain from the start up until Ulgoth spawns and sometimes a few people show up at that point to help out. But generally the entire chain is more fun alone so it is good nobody goes there on my server. End up with full bags and 6 champ loots. If some help on Ulgoth then you have your boss and bonus chest as well. Sometimes only one other person shows so we 2-man Ulgoth. Usually deaths are involved, but it’s so much fun! Generally can run the whole chain from start to Ulgoth in 30-45 minutes solo.
If you let Ulgoth’s timer expire then the centaurs regroup and push in on the last camp. Defend this camp and you get another run at all of the pre-Ulgoth events of 4 champs and a ton of centaur waves, which means tons of loot. Let Ulgoth’s timer expire again and use that time to empty bags. Then defend the camp again and do the run to Ulgoth again to get 4 more champ bags and full bags of loot. Can start from the defend the last camp stage about ever 30 minutes or so. Each defend to Ulgoth gets between 3 and 6 gold worth of loot (mats, junk loot) and usually 1-4 rares with 124% MF, as well as 80-120 supply bags. Usually enough time to clean bags before the next assault starts…usually.
This is so much fun to do. One of my favorite chains in the game for sure.
If you don’t mind doing a little work you can learn to play the trading post by flipping items. This tool is pretty good for that:
http://www.gw2spidy.com/
Other than that unidentified dye is still going for a lot right now so if you have been saving your laurels you can make some good coin off of that. You also may want to consider doing some Frostgorge Champion farming before the nerf kicks in on April 15th.
I’m on Sanctum of Rall and Gaiscioch (GSCH) host some pretty fun PvE events. Their is always a Queensdale and Frostgorge zerg going on too.
Most zones are still pretty empty though but if you are into the popular content you should be able to find some people. Living Story stuff on SoR is always very active too. You may be able to get a fee transfer too if it’s not too late for the Season 2 WvW transfers.
(edited by Prophet.6257)
I think it would be nice if in Guild Wars 2 we had an easier way to find guilds in game. Maybe let guilds advertise inside the LFG tool or just have a huge list of every guild on your server. I don’t know the specifics but I’m sure some people on here have a better model than folks spamming the world chat hoping someone sees it.
The big new patch is going to hit us in a couple of weeks. Making Legendary Weapons and Ascended Gear Account Bound seems to be a good Idea. Those grumbling about having made multiple legendary weapons should have known that this was going to happen sooner or later..
However, does the Wardrobe system seem to be a bit excessive ?
Wouldn’t it be more prudent to just stop at making gear account bound ?
The Wardrobe system seems to be diluting the value of the skins in the game. A large section of the population in game may end up looking similar wearing the same type of gear skin and using the same weapon skins.
I hope that the cost via “Transmutation Charges” will be enough to control excessive use of same skins on every character in a single account.
The Wardrobe system does seem to be against the interests of those players who have actually been spending $$ on the game…..However rather than completely doing away with it, maybe It just needs to be tweaked in a way to minimise impact on these players.
For Example :
1. Maintain level restrictions of skins (That means u can use Legendary wep skins on other level 80 weps only)2. Keep Gem Store Skins out of this system ? (Lol though I guess its these skins that will be most popular in the wardrobe….)
I would think people having access to more armor would mean a more diverse looking community, not less. People have different taste and will undoubtedly go for whatever look fits them the best not just what armor has the best stats. Although with the pay-to-use instead of pay-to-unlock in place you may be right. With a regressive pay model in place people very well may just stick with whatever armor is the most cost effective and that very well may look identical to one another. Sorry.
Sure, I could write a system that is 100% player friendly and costs nothing – but I know that this is one for the things ArenaNet funds employee salaries with, and I don’t expect them to give that up entirely just because I want it all for free forever.
This incarnation of a wardrobe will NOT let you change willy-nilly at will for free forever. But it WILL let you do so more cheaply with more options than it has in the past.
If you want to push for more, fine. Just realize that content requires income and there comes a point where slashing their revenue is slashing your own prospects for enjoyment.
nike, listen to me for a second.
in an unlock system, with the same cost for unlock that you now have for changing. Do you think Stones would be more valuable, or less valuable.
where do you think you will use more stones throughout the life of the game.
my premise is very simple, i believe you, and 90% of players will spend MORE stones overall throughout the life of the game, if they pay to unlock for the account, than if they pay to change. Keep in mind that high end gear is account bound now.
I think in an unlock system you will work toward unlocking every single skin you like, EVEN if its not as cool as your favorite skin. In the current system you will only pay for whatever your current favorite skin is.
What is really going to increase thier profits more?
I have done probably 80 transmutation across 8 charachters in a year and a half. with unlocks i would probably have done at the very least twice that. I would probably have done way more.
Not all people are completionists. Most just like a few sets and keep switching between them (like me). Anet has decided to target these players as they probably are the majority – more profit.
Most people only use a few sets b/c it’s too expensive to have more than that.
I hope solid foundation is the thing a lot of people were asking for, Housing/Guild Halls.
But know ANet’s track record it probably means nerfing classes or talking about class skills they already addressed earlier in the week.
Oh PLEASE let it be housing!
Cosmetic, limited, monetized I don’t really care but it should be in the game.
If you think about it all of our characters are random homeless people wondering around the world killing things and taking stuff off their dead bodies.
The additional problem we have is that none of us have numbers on the mindset of the larger playerbase. Both sides argue that “everyone they have spoken to” likes their version better. Both sides argue that the other side might be just a “vocal minority”. But neither of us has actual numbers to back that up especially compared to the number of actually existing players and what their behaviour might entail.
Because how large o a portion of the playerbase have you actually spoken to? And in addition: Isn’t it likely that most people you talk about this will agree with you because you are most likely to discuss something like this with the people you usually play with? People with an alike mindset to yours? So of course in your gaming circle you will find mostly people who agree to your particular point of view.
Those two aspects somewhat diminish the actual value of those statements.
I agree with you. That is why we should look at some basic economic principles. Specifically what will incentivize players as well as Arena Net.
Anet wants the game to do well. They want lots of players and a lot of money
Players want the game to do well. They want lots of players and to keep lots of their money.
The players want the best value and Anet wants the largest profit. Anet also wants to offer the best value compared to its competition. The better that value becomes the more people are willing to buy the game and spend money in it. The less valuable each feature is the less valuable the game is.
With the current system Anet is betting on a smaller player base and hope to get more from them. If they were to use a Pay-to-unlock model they would be betting on growth and most importantly betting on themselves to release better content (like armor skins).
The PTU crowd is willing to bet on growth because we love this game and have confidence it it’s ability to bring in new players which will in tern spend more money on the game.

2. The fact that transmutation exists at all is fantastic and is one of the reasons GW2
is so progressive and awesome. We’re just saying that, while it’s better than other MMOs, the transmutation system is still flawed and is not enough for a game that claims to be revolutionary.I just want to point this comment out…. I feel like this defines exactly why everyone is so unhappy: super high ultra expectations.
The bottom line is this: Anet needs to make money somehow, this is their way. Luckily, they are improving upon the system, so that even though they still make money, we get more. To be unhappy with it because “it isn’t enough” is actually sickening to me. Since when do we need to get everything we want? We’re getting something we didn’t need to have.
This is part of running a business. They have to be able to negotiate with their customers. Anet doesn’t need to be coddled they are perfectly capable handling their business. If what we are asking is just too much for them and they can’t do it then we are just at an impasse. No hard feeling no anger but it is just another thing too add to what is wrong (in our eyes) with this game.
Everyone wants to be able to change their looks around for free. What does that do to Anet? Cut their sales. What does that do for us? Cut our new content. Part of running a business is giving customers what they want without sacrificing the company for it.
part of running a business is figuring out how to monetize in a way that maximizes your profits. This system does not. i will point out again.
The only time this system increases profit over an unlock system is when a player uses returns to a previously used look. Under the current system, people almost never do that. For any look that they think they may use again, they create a new set of items to store that look.
Even that case is rare, because most people just only go with one look.If i want to monetize 2000 of the prints of my pictures, one of the worst ways i can do it, is to sell them a service where every time the bring back one of my pictures, i give them a new print. People will almost never use/buy 1999 of my print. I may make money one time per 6 months. Instead of customer potentially buying 6 or 7 pieces of art, they buy 1, they keep it until i can make something that is so much better they pay again to switch.
not to mention, even in my example, i dont charge the initial item costs that the game charges to obtain the item the first time.
To be honest I’m not entirely sure you know exactly what anet’s business situation is. I usually respect you as a poster, but I honestly feel like you are assuming you know a lot more about the system than you do. Anet had options, they knew their options. They chose this system, one which the very vocal minority of the forums dislikes because of x reason or y. It doesn’t matter, though, because it’s what Anet chose.
Myself, and all of my friends I have discussed this with, are excited about the new system. They will buy more charges than they buy crystals currently. To the casual player, it isn’t about “I want account unlocks!” Or “anet is taking my money! Shame them into submission!” It’s about “wow, that cultural armor I bought for gold that took me a year to farm because I play casually will be added to my wardrobe so I can try new armor sets without feeling like I’m sacrificing anything significant outside of a couple dollars.”
And I think it’s a very vocal minority who actual support it. Everyone I have spoken to hates the current implementation of the wardrobe system. It just does nothing for us.
We aren’t upset about giving Anet money. I love this brand. We just feel like the Wardrobe system is not a good deal. Now that can be fine and we just sit back and keep our money or we can suggest improvements. Specifically ones that we are willing to spend a lot of money on.

Please go back and read previous post. The majority of reasonable people are asking for a PAY-to-unlock system not a absolutely free wardrobe. We know they need to make money and are willing to give them money but for a better deal than what was offered.
When it comes to our purchases I can only speak for myself just like you can only speak for yourself. I am not going to buy a single Wardrobe Charge under their currently released model. You sound like you will.
Would you also buy a Wardrobe unlock charge?
I will be buying more charges under the new system than I would for an “unlock” charge. Why? Because when I switch an armor set, the likelihood that I go back to the old one is low. The reason I don’t change my armors now is because the skins and stats are too expensive to sacrifice either. With charges, if on a whim I do happen to want to change back, it will cost me a few charges.
I personally think that anet would not make enough on wardrobe “unlock” to justify getting rid of the single charge.
But you still would buy the unlock if everything else was equal. As would I. The difference is I will not buy a single “charge”. With just the two of us considered using an unlock system has double Anet’s sales. In fact if it was unlockable I would attempt to unlock every outfit just to have the freedom to change whenever I wanted. The current system gives me no incentive at all. I think you will find several members our our community that feel the same way.

We complain because we still care about Guild Wars 2. We want to be part of Tyria and we want the players experience to be improved. We also want to see Arena Net to do well. That is why so many are willing to compromise with a pay-to-unlock system instead of just demanding it be entirely free.

They announced a wardrobe..okay..everyone believed that it will be like the PvP locker where u can switch your clothes to your hearts content.
But nope it’s the same renting system we had before.
I know, that I won’t buy any charges in the future…why? Because it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth to spend charges every time i want to change the skin on my armor. I would rather spend 5 charges on 1 skin and unlock it for free use later on. I would buy gems and stuff this companies pockets with money if they would allow me to change my skins any time i want..even in the middle of a dungeon run without paying for it every time.
I can only talk for myself (and for my boyfriend lol) but i would spend a lot more charges (like 5-6 charges for a skin) to unlock the 800-900 skins that i like. I don’t want the skins for free so i can use them for free,i am willing to pay for them when i unlock them.
I have played many games and just to give you an example : I played PWI for a few years. This game has a lot of fashion to offer,a set is being sold for around 20-25 $.
I bought fashion in worth of over 400- 500 $ on my characters…why? Because i love fashion i switched my fashion every hour……..or in the middle of a dungeon run…Now, my behaviour changed in GW2…….i look for a combination of skins i like…transmute it ONCE on my character and thats it!
My boyfriend runs around with 3 sets of the same armor in his inventory, all of them have a different skin.He switches between them every few hours.
The point is, that people won’t buy more crystals or charges than they did before the patch.
This system isn’t as flexible and doesn’t encourage people to collect many skins, cuz they will never use 90% of those skins. They will have 1 set they really like and then sit on it.So instead of spending 4.000- 4.500 charges in the future i will just use around 50.And i know i am not the only one who thinks like this.
I will rather buy some more inventory space and carry 2-3 sets of armor at a time with different skins so i can change my looks at will. Its cheaper than paying for crystals every time you would like to change your looks.
I’m in the same boat. I LOVE to change my characters look but in GW2 I’ve avoided it b/c of the cost. This “new system” does nothing for me. It’s too temporary. If it was an unlock system instead of a rental system I’d be all in. As it stands now, I’m not spending a cent on it.
