I’ve noticed that too, every time you post something the same few people comment on it just to talk crap and cause a lot of unnecessary drama .
I’ve noticed too that you have the same people defending this, MMR hell, Premade = Sure win, Unfair matchmaking, etc.
If something’s not fair or right people are gonna speak out against it, you can try as hard as you want to shut them up, goodluck with that. Maybe if certain people weren’t so afraid that matches would actually become fair and even and stop their easy wins & make them actually work for it, things would be much quieter and happier and chillaxed than they are.
It’s interesting when you’re posting you’re “speaking out…”; when others post against the OP they’re “starting drama.”

You both missed my point completely. I’m a pretty proficient dungeon runner. On a good day, I can dodge Alpha indefinitely and one-shot Lupi. ( To “one shot” in this case means to defeat her without a team wipe.)
Despite that, showing up on my alt, I couldn’t even get on a party. She was deemed unworthy .
Fractals and raids have similar issues. Elitist groups will kick without any notice or explanation.
If ANET chose to make PvP team only, the elitism would quickly exclude most players.
As to grinding versus skill. I have my dungeon master. I’ve successfully completed every path in every dungeon. At times, I have even taken very low level party members through dungeons as a challenge to myself.

You want solo queues, because as you have said you don’t want to be picked last. Well guess what? Find a bunch of people at your level and “practice” with them. Oh, but you don’t want that. In any situation where there is a winner and a loser this is going to happen.
If matchmaking was fair and balanced players would be matched into matches against those of a similar level where they have an even chance of winning. Clearly if such long losing sequences are happening this is not the case with the system. I would say given the population issues that the best system is the S1 system.

There’s nothing about “i made this build bs” (At least for me) it’s more likely if i find something really good that can counter actual meta i just don’t want to see everyone running it in no time…all i want is to keep for myself something is gonna give me an advantage over everyone else and win. Sounds like you’re not trying to beat anyone on skill, but out gimmick them. High level competitions are about skill and not gimmicks. World class competitors show all their techniques and still beat people with them. There’s a reason people run mirrors when they want to see who is actually better.

You must be new here, so I will help you out. That isn’t going to change anything. Simply put, they don’t have the resources to support this game (in pvp) the way we players want them to. Which means, infrequent updates/patches.
No resources. Don’t expect much more from this game.
This is a good point. We’d like to revisit this system at some point.
What types of specific stats do you want to see (keep in mind combat stats vs “gamemode” stats)? How much info is too much info?
I think it’s good to show more info for these types of things, but keep in mind that if we add too much, it can be overwhelming for some players. Due to that we’d want to find a nice balance between too little and too much.

You are all recognizing the problem with PvP templates versus PvE templates:
PvP builds can be constructed regardless of what items you own. The templates can even save weapon type and give you a free level 1 item if you don’t have a weapon in your inventory already because PvP has normalized attributes.
PvE/WvW builds must include actual items. This mean sharing non-PvP builds becomes very complicated. Either you simply can’t do it, or templates save out exact items for reapplication AND save out item type/level/rarity/prefix/suffix/etc for sharing.
Another aspect you guys are hitting on is the need for template ‘chunks’. This means templates are not an all-or-nothing application, but can be pieced together from various parts. For instance, you could have an ‘appearance’ template that consists only of wardrobe skins, dyes, and a finisher that you can apply and save separately from a ‘functional’ template that may contain skills, traits, and amulet.
This is quite an intricate detail, but you may even want to leave individual skill/trait slot empty in a template you’re sharing like a wildcard.

I respect you Evan and all the employees that work with you, but the fact of the matter is this; the things that you want to do and the things that you do end up doing are miles apart. Time is not in your favor and your updates are too infrequent to keep people invested in the game.
lol not everyone wants new broken game modes, some of us just want incentive to play conquest, like seasons for example.
and the thing is that killing people takes no skill in this game, i can kill people by spamming one button but that wont make me succeed in conquestwhere did you get broken game modes from? The whole point im making is that its terribly embarassing to see a mode called sPvP not incentive people to fight other people. At least not the first priority.
Because if you ever take time to look at very basic class/mechanic design you will understand that deathmatch or capture the flag would be broken.
try killing whole enemy team at start of match and then farm them on respawn, i guarantee you that will give you nice advantage in this “just sit on points” mode.
Deathmatch on maps such as courtyard can easily support 3 v 3 up to 5 v 5. It’s actually one of the few things they did semi-decently.
There’s a game, which just went live, that already has these features. Guys…this game is two years old and they STILL haven’t introduced features which are base line in newer MMO’s. If they haven’t implemented it in two years don’t expect it anytime soon. When they actually do get around to it, the other 100 or so features which are also base line might then be implemented in the next 5-10 years if this game is still around…

That’s Grouch being a company man. The “BIG” pvp patch was nothing more than shifting piles of clothes in a room, from one to another, and claiming the room was clean.
We got:
A new map/game mode: Private servers only (outside of being private servers only, this single map is the best thing to happen to the game IF they decide to expand on this type of play style)
Reward tracks that gave us…gear/skins we already owned
Wardrobe, which charges us to use things…WE ALREADY OWNED
Minor balance changes which should have been released months ago
PVP build which is clunky
1 single piece of PVP only gear

Fed up of joining solo queues on PVP and getting 3 man teams against 5 on the other team, was like that for the entire game ( In the picture ) Lot’s of other games joined with 3/4 of my team and 5 on theirs never seems to be the other way round. There needs to be some implementation of a system that prevents games starting if there is an imbalance in the team.
This game just lacks fundamental features. The development was/is too slow to accommodate any level of competitive play. Accept it and move on or accept it and be miserable.
Please don’t anyone post about giving them time yadayada. This game has been out for close to two years and it is still missing the most basic of features. There are games in alpha/beta stages that exceed this game in structure. There is no reason this game shouldn’t have them.
Welcome to GW2, where the balance team doesn’t know what its balancing for. Conquest…5 spots per team and 8 professions. You’re always going to have professions better at specified roles on a team. The key to balance was making the difference between professions marginal enough to allow people to play what profession they would like, but the balance team doesn’t know how to balance. The gap is too huge for anyone to take anything but the best per role.
Power Ranger also dies from one Life Transfer of Power Necromancer. And maybe one Life Blast.
Not even speaking about other professions’ damage

Because PvP has some of the most rude and spiteful people in the entire game. Not showing ranks it just removing a reason for them to blame the new guy for their inadequacies. The next patch? We just had a feature patch about a month ago. Dealing with the China merger is taking a ton of time, I’m sure. Even if Anet gave you a date, it’d probably be all speculation at this point, which probably isn’t what they want, as if they stated a date, people would hold them accountable for that date, and if the date rolls around without follow through of their speculation, the community would wield their torches and pitch forks with outcries that this game lacks any new content, and we should follow Moses in exodus to a new game entirely….
So yeah….Be patient….And stuff.
The feature patch was nothing more than taking what we already had and repackaging it. Outside of a few runes/sigils that changed anything, the feature pack was more punishing to veteran pvpers than it was rewarding.
Why would the Chinese release affect the balance team’s interaction? They didn’t need to do any balance work with the Chinese release, it seems to me like they’d be able to come right back to CDIs and whatnot, after a short break if they needed one of course.

Protection on auras.
That is the only difference, and not a good one even. Zephyrs Boon gives much more and over-commiting on defense will cripple your killing ability completely.
It is basicly D/D that everyone rolls now. Except no Mist Form, which I don’t get.
Protection on auras is definitely the better choice. In this set up a lot of your damage is coming from conditions. Being able to 1 v 2 is more reliable with constant protection uptime and constant condi-pressure along with sustained damage.

Ask yourself this: would you’ve been surprised if Unholy Martyr or Unholy Sanctuary became the new Death Magic adept minor trait? I’d actually take 170 toughness in DS over both of them.Also, I don’t understand how Unholy Martyr is supposed to fit in Blood Magic. Let’s assume for a moment that this trait line was actually good… who makes a 6 point investment for this trait?
The slow transfer rate clearly shows that it’s not designed to be a group support skill or a way to increase pressure through transfers. The sole purpose seems to be a way to stay in DS longer in group fights, in which case a 5% lf per 3 sec is just plain worse than Vital Persistance, an adept trait in a line you’d actually expect it to be. Unholy Martyr on the other hand has zero synergy with the rest of Blood Magic since healing doesn’t work in DS.So, I think your idea is good. But the first thing I’d do is allow all sources of healing in Death Shroud, then apply your suggested change to Unholy Martyr and switch it with Parasitic Contagion.
Most new GM traits were out right bad, should not be GM, or are in the wrong trait line. Terrible? Yes. Surprised? Nope.

Matchmaking has not changed. We stopped showing ranks because they were being used incorrectly (as if they implied skill rather than time invested), causing a toxic environment where players felt justified (wrongly) while harassing each other.
We are working on changes to matchmaking, but those changes are unrelated to the decision to not show ranks.
That said, there has been a huge influx of new players, and this is likely what you are noticing. They are likely going to need some time to learn the ropes and figure out how to play. May I suggest taking a patient, mentoring approach?

There are specific rewards that guarantee exotics on dungeon tracks.
Which is totally borked if you ask me. There are no guaranteed exotics in any dungeon (unless you count the exotics we can BUY with dungeon tokens, but they’re getting dungeon tokens too, right?). PvPers should be subjected to the same crap PvErs get. Dungeon chests generally only give blues and if you get a green it’s a Minor sigil from that dungeon. PvPers shouldn’t be guaranteed better rewards than anyone else gets. Give their chests the same loot table we get.

I must be in the minority on this, I didn’t have huge AI damage on my Mesmer or Ranger. Now; however I noticed that my phantasm damage is very lack luster as pure glass. Can anyone tell me how Phantasm damage is calculated?

3 v 3, 4 v 4, and 5 v 5 work well on this map. It’s the single best thing they have added to this game. There is enough space and los to make this have the WoW arena feel. This map alone has the potential to change the course of Gw2 pvp.
Create team charters with team rankings and only allow full teams in. Make solo queue with solo rankings and have an unranked queue where fewer than full teams can join.
I don’t like excluding pugs from team queue. Not enough population either for that full team queue to pop much.

I tried substituting Signet of the beastmaster for Read the Wind and protect me (which is roughly the same as SoS). The problem was you lost your mobility. So then I subbed for travelers runes, then you lost your burst from SoH.
Signet of the beastmaster should not be competing with Read the Wind. Move it down a tier or make SoB baseline like every other signet in the game.
I like to have more than one of my grandmasters too as a thief. But we all can’t be all to end all. Need to decided whether you want survivability or damage. Not both.
Signet of the beastmaster is not worthy of a GM trait. Compare it to all other signets across the game. How would you feel if you had to choose between Executioner and making your signets actually have an active effect? It’s silly to have to devote a GM trait just to make signets function the SAME way other signets do for all other professions.

The only thing good that come out of this patch was Courtyard. If they were smart, which I know they’re not, they would expand upon this and make it a 3 v 3, 4 v 4, or 5 v 5 (which is pushing it) and make this “arenas”.
Courtyard is the only map in any other MMO that comes close to feeling like WoW arenas. They did a nice job on this map. The only problem would be figuring out how to handle potential spawn camping after a big wipe.
