The biggest offender was inf st/sh ret. They should have adjusted that ability and left the rest as they were.
Too lazy to make a video, so i just created a necro and made some screenshots of how it is possible to port on Niflhel with a fleshworm.
thats still working ~ so it works just like shortbow, blink and all the other stuff. you only have to know how.

http://imageshack.us/a/img832/7982/gw044v.jpgAre you implying that I am providing incorrect information or are you trying to show that it works in specific situations? If it’s the first, I’ll just make a video then to prove my point. If it’s the second, then I would like to point out that it’s the problematic teleport behavior that is being discussed here and not those specific situations when it actually works properly.
I’ve used flesh wurm everywhere I was able to port to prior to the patch without issue. I’m not sure what difficulty you are having with it and I’ve still been able to go through walls including the one at Keep.
As an avid PvP myself, I can understand the wait for Solo Q can be a frustrating process. As we’ve announced in several podcasts now, Solo Q is our top priority. Fixing matchmaking was a necessary process that did not take developer time away from Solo Q and will make our implementation of Solo Q run much more smoothly.
We want to ensure you are not experiencing:
*Drastically longer queue times
*Massive losses/gains of rating per match (check ranking fluctuations)
*Mismatches (i.e. playing a top 25 ranked team as a 400 ranked player)An example of constructive feedback for this would be:
Response A: “I’m a 300-400 ranked player and I typically play at prime time. Since the patch my matches seem to be much more even unless I manage to face a premade who happens to sit around my ranking (I checked their ranking). My queue times seem to be consistent as to how they were pre-patch and I am no longer experiencing massive ranking losses.”
Response B: “I’m a 300-400 ranked player and I typically play non prime time hours. Since the patch I seemed to be getting mismatched quite often. After checking the rankings of players I was facing I can conclude that I’ve been getting placed in buckets much higher than expected as my team was much lower ranked than our opponents. My queue times on the other hand are quite fast.”
Keep in mind you aren’t required to post feedback. We encourage you to keep things constructive and friendly. Thanks everyone!
So in essence, everyone please after facing me in tournament pm me your characters names so I can go out of the game and look you all up on the leaderboards.
If that’s the case Tyler, then why can we not see rating in game? It’s beyond pointless for there to be this invisible system and expect reasonable feedback on it. All we can see are ranking to it is reasonable for us to assume that a rank 1 would have far less rating than that of a rank 40.
The tone of the conversation really needs to shift to when/if something is not fun or frustrating to play against, regardless of whether or not it is OP, when does A-net step in to change it.
Having your main source of damage, an evade, and boon steal tied to the same ability is questionable imo; however I don’t think that is the larger issue. The area that I feel is too rewarding for the thief and not fun/frustrating to play against is inf-strike/shadow return. Trying to line up coordinated burst or even setting up your own burst is near impossible. The tragedy of the situation is one of the persistent problems when facing thieves. The only response you have is to have enough aoe to “accidentally” down them, which is an even larger problem the thief profession is facing. There needs to be some sort of balance associated with giving thieves enough abilities to allow them to play their role and not so frustrating to play against.
They’re already working on it as a means to monetize the pvp side. You’ll receive one free template and others will be purchased through the gem process.
To be fair, they were a RARE item. Not everyone was supposed to get a pair, that’s what makes them special to have if you were lucky enough to snag a pair! Don’t worry, there’ll be plenty more “rare” items that you can shoot for in future events.
Rare items should be obtained through some type of skill metric and not some RNG process. Make things like this acquired through a rating system or something the like.
Working now? 15 chars
You tell us? C’mon son…
Why put them in if you’re just going to take them out? Hey thanks for playing our game, we’re going to NOT reward you for sticking around.
At least the dodge queue bug got fixed…
It’s funny, here was J. Sharp’s response when this was brought up, “c’mon son.”
and here was J. Peter’s response, “we know it’s still not fixed, the fix we released didn’t work. We’re still working on it.”
Can we get a response to acknowledge your awareness that the fix you said was put in place is not working?
2 reasons why other dps builds of ANY profession is hard to fit into a team. Mesmer and thief burst. You simply do not have as many abilities as a gc build to mitigate their burst, while they have many ways to mitigate yours.
One burst combo with either mf or lf on cd and you are dead. Couple their burst with ele’s inability to stay at range until the “right” time to burst and you pretty much have a non viable gc build for tournaments.
There are a couple of duo’s I can see trying to run in a tournament setting though I haven’t had the chance to try the comps out yet.
PVE event broke? HOTFIXED! Game breaking pvp bug…Let’s just say we fixed it.
What’s the point in telling people you aren’t impressed with it? If it’s unimpressive, you just move on. I mean, I guess I don’t see the point.
@Evil…let the pv3 people have their moment. Just because it isn’t spvp/tpvp doesn’t make it any less enjoying for those playing and obviously people in the thread enjoyed watching it.
It’s even worse than before. I’m even starting to get affected by it even in PvE now…
Yeah that’s it! My PVE experience is being ruined by this…Please fix, pve pve pve pve pve pve pve
Why is this still not fixed?
I would like to see that trait happen.
Critical strikes have a x% chance to remove 1 boon from your target.
We don’t need to contribute anymore in the arms race of excessive boons/boon punishment. There already is collateral damage to those professions/builds who have minimal access to important boons. We’re now at the point where we’re trivializing the effectiveness of boons on those professions/builds that don’t have access to huge uptime on boons, but rely on them for their intended purposes.
You guys are all wrong! Why would they release patch notes saying they fixed it if it wasn’t fixed?
please note the sarcasm
Individual Skill =/= Ability to lead a team. I’ve played against top 100 players and beaten them 1v1 repeatedly but playing against them as a team, they definitely deserved the win. They’re good “team players” in a “team game”, go figure. People mistake their individual skill as some kind of validation that they should be higher ranked than people on the leaderboards. It’s the better teams that win, not the better 1v1’er.
TADA!! That’s why there should be team charters and team ranks/rating and solo queue with solo rank/rating.
Guards is an instant cast, so by the time you see the animation, you will be knocked back—you have to bait it out or have stability or a stun breaker.
No it’s not. You can reliably react to the animation.
Oh, so there is a window? Okay, I’ll update it.
Well, it’s not instant. I was pretty sure you can react to it, but I just tested it to confirm.
It’s a subtle animation where your body starts moving. That and a good way to foresee it coming is when the person stops their auto attack and you see them start moving.
To piggyback this, start your stomps at the downed players head. This way they will rotate toward you and will have to start their interrupt. Much easier to dodge through.

An Error Prevented Saving:
•Message Body length must at least be 15.
The only way to get this hot fixed in is if we can find some scenarios where it’s breaking pve. If we do that…HOTFIX!
Intelligence is another one that is bugged.
Another “unintended” change that made it into the game. How many more reasons need to be given for there to be a PTR implemented in this game?
I must apologize to the 2 jokers here who apparently can’t read and embarrassed themselves making fun of something I already admitted was a mistake on my part. I have this other thing called a job that keeps me very busy during the week and when I get free time I like to play the game rather than hawk the forums for people to troll.
I was trying to be helpful, if you wanted to make fun of me for posting a build that you apparently already knew about, you are too late, I already realized this and admitted my mistake several posts before you came through to rag on me for it. It’s inevitable someone else would have come up with it besides myself, and not really frequenting the forums much or AT ALL prior to this patch (check my posting history…) so I’m not really shocked either. It was an honest mistake and I freely admit that I was wrong.
By the way, it’s people like Chaosky and Pyriall that I was trying to avoid by not sharing this build months ago when I first discovered it (even if that was weeks after one of you trolls copy/pasted it from some site). Hence the “under protest” bit which was nothing but the truth, as not everyone who plays the game spends all their free time in the forums.
Seriously, show a little respect and consideration for people who do other things with their free time for once. Or you can troll me some more…I don’t care, I doubt I will return and even find out about it. This has been a thorough waste of time anyway, no offense to the normal people here, but there is too much complaining and not enough doing here for my taste.
Happy Hunting Eles…see you in the pit.
The real question is, did you post this response under protest?
It has nothing to do with posting a build it has to do with your ego and how you posted the response. I mean really…under protest.
Perhaps you did not read the post in that link good sir. I have tested this build extensively (been using it since I created it after hitting 80 a month or so after pre-launch). What I meant in the above post was that I have yet to test this build seriously in a pvp or wvw situation since today’s debacle – I mean ‘patch.’
This build involves actually using the signets. Not just having them on your bar for kicks. There is synergy built around not only having them, but you are crippling this build if you aren’t using them on your target(s).
I’m not going to explain this here or now, as I shared this build under protest because I see too many people doing cookie cutter builds because they are the flavor of the month. If anyone actually tries it out, let me know what you think or if you have questions, PM me in-game (as I don’t usually get on the forums due to lack of free time and what little I have I prefer to waste in game).
It always amazes me when people come here and try to make a point to say, “I invented a build”
People have been trying to make condi-sig builds since the beginning. Not to burst your bubble, but it’s an old build.
hey guize I made this thing called a lightbulb
what are you laughing at
Are you going to describe how it works? Under “protest” I assume.

I don’t get why this needed a nerf anyway. It’s a friggin 30 point trait, shouldda replaced the regen on cantrip cast with a different boon/effect instead.
Not like I play an ele, but for everyone with half a brain who read the ele trait lines and skills once, it’s fairly obvious, this change goes in a completely wrong direction.it’s still a potential cleanse every 5 seconds.. although I’d agree that allowing cantrips to interfere with an aoe cleanse does raise the skill cap for team utility.
Anything that raises the skill cap on cantrip eles is good news to me.
I’m never in favor of taking activated abilities and forcing the users to have to mentally keep track of icd’s. There needs to be a display on the potential cleanse, just like with kit refinement. ICD’s are generally reserved for passive abilities, but since they tied it to activated abilities through traits it becomes a bit clunky for my taste.
… which is better than nothing at all…
Ahh the new found mantra of A-net. If you continue down this path, all of these little choices of “better than nothing” will lead inevitably to people taking the choice of nothing and moving on.
Like I said, we needed this technology anyways. It’s great that it can fill some of the roles of observer mode before we actually have observer mode
So is this then confirmation that a full observer mode with a higher limit of concurrent viewers is actively being designed/developed/tested?
It must be a disconnect in communication. I assumed, his original comment meant that there were technical limitations preventing observer mode. Now it sounds like it is something they are working on…Clarification please.
There are definitely technical limitations we have not solved.
I understand that, my question is still there though – is the plan TO solve them and release a full observer mode?
I hope you realize that he can’t answer this question if he wants to keep his job.
Didn’t know you signed his paychecks…
I don’t have to – it’s like a standard clause in most any employment contract.
No it’s not…

We are conducting a small closed Beta. Who can participate?
- Top players from our QP leaderboards will receive a Custom Arena and early access as part of their prize package.
- Some press and media sites
- If you purchased a Custom Arena while they were accidentally available on the gem store then you will be able to activate them at this time.
- Additionally we are considering a small number of active community members.
MARA is a PvX guild with main focus on PvE. We did a lot of skirmish in GW1 and have been waiting for it to come around to GW2.
It’s very sad that we can not participate in the arenas in the beta. With +800 members being able to participate in this in the beta, would had helped us to start planning and structuring it, and might have encouraged the guild members more to sponsor it.I really hope we will get an open beta for this.
How are you unable to participate? You’re obviously allowed to participate in the “server is full” line like the rest of us.

Who is going to actually pay for those?
If only other multiplayer games had dedicated servers…we could look at those and see however many hundreds of them there are…the historical precedent would be useful…oh well. /sarcasm
I guess we can look to ALL other mmo’s and predict the future success of NEW mmo’s…oh well, all I need to do is just invest in EVERY MMO…/sarcasm
Once people have to start paying for the CA’s there won’t be very many open up to the public, so tournaments will be the new hj. I think A-Net really overestimated the potential gain of revenue from CA’s.
Who is going to actually pay for those?
Dear ArenaNet, please add a downvote option as well so we can downvote all these dumb comments down in the mud so people wont be able to see them.
Some of these comments from other players are pathetic.
You have received 1 down vote for your comment.
We did test, but internal servers and external servers are not the same. Our internal tests were fine. This is why we beta!
Kind of bs that we beta test features on a game that is supposedly live. Why not open up a PTR where features can actually be tested instead of throwing us broken content.
Don’t have the resources.
On par with warrior long bow, ranger long bow, and ele staff abilities.
Thief SB is on par with long bow and staff now? Awesome! I missed the part where they adjusted Shortbow range to 1200-1500. Ohh wait they didnt? Guess its not on par then is it now?
Yes, being that you have to invest points to make those two weapons function. So, sure give thieves 1200 range and make it cost 10-20 points in a trait line…done and done.
On par with warrior long bow, ranger long bow, and ele staff abilities.
So it’s now on par with other ranged weapons right?
If you go power 20, arms 25, in your warrior traits you get bezerkers might 12% when full adreneline, 10% on great sword.
arms 25, is 10% against bleeding foes.
why use 30 traits in discipline and lose 10% dmg? + power or crit chance too, for the new trait that gives 3% dmg per boon?
Think twice , and fix it fast please.
The obvious conclusion will be to nerf 25 in arms…haha
Jonathan Sharps response to this, “cool story bro”
Why didn’t you test this?
rofl they obviously tested it, releasing stuff into live servers leads into new problems, kitten happens.
everyone thinks he’s a coder …
+1
He even posted this before others did. Hot fixing it right away. Its stupid how people are complaining.
The complaints are more in line with why there isn’t an open PTR. This question has been posed since release and patch after patch there are things that are discovered on release to live.
Would a public test server be feasible to implement? (After other priorities of course)
No need, that’s what live servers are for.
We did test, but internal servers and external servers are not the same. Our internal tests were fine. This is why YOU beta for us!
Fixed that for you…
