This link, and website itself is great for crafting and other needs.
It breaks down the Check list you need to keep track of(and will even tell you which supplies you already own and re adjust the list and cost of the weapon if you select that option at the top).
It’ll also break down the steps one by one until the final step of getting the legendary. Tells you what items are once a day crafts, how many you need, how many days it will take, and above all, which items you can buy or not.

Enjoy the crafting, and the time gate. It’s a blessing in disguise honestly.

It would be cool if A-net did a game jam and someone did this.

I would love if we could get new characters, or none, to follow us around in story… I really don’t like doing the LS solely because of the characters we’re forced to be with.

You could use photoshop to try and find the right colors. Using Hex codes (ie: #fffffff)

Personally, I feel you guys need to find a plan and stick with it. You’ve changed how and when you release content, how much and what type of content so much it is extremely inconsistent.

I think Quarterly Updates were a nice medium, if given enough content to make up for the lack of updates. Good luck with the new format I hope you find something you can stick with.

I would like to clarify we’ve pushed our static raid attempts to 7pm EST, more simple this way opposed to a 30minute gap.

Go google, Google. They have a free doctor, chef, gym. Almost anything you could imagine.

In terms of the management, I cannot say as I do not know personally how their management is, but I can say something feels like they’re managing like pin the tail on the donkey.

I’ve deleted what I’ve been trying to say for 10 minutes now, not sure how to word it.
Personally I’ve been bored with this game for 3 or so years now. Why do I keep playing? Perhaps its the amount of money I’ve spent on it, maybe it is because of the time I’ve spent with it? Who knows, I just finished crafting bolt, something I was so excited to have finally as my third legendary, the second I crafted it I couldn’t care less about it. It might as well not have existed to me.

Why is this? For starters I’m impatient and I will use my credit card to get gold to help speed up the process. Why? Because I don’t feel like opening chests following dozens of grey default model characters around some crappy desert with weird plant monsters to earn some money for hours with no end in sight.

It’s honestly weird. That is the “meta” of this game, being impatient and wanting things when you want them, not when you deserve them.

People want content, people want prestige. People hate working for things they want, they hate spending time doing things. Aren’t those the ‘precursors’ of the first?
What is prestige? Something you’re PROUD of for ACCOMPLISHING?
What is content? Something you spend TIME to DO?
Not in guild wars 2. prestige is non-existent, because the prestige of legendary weapons is flooded with CC-warriors such as myself. Nearly anything is bought or nerfed to be easy to get.
Content is sped through and ignored to the best of the players ability.
In some games, players spend years to get something their proud of, and in the end feel the prestige of having. Now imagine if you were time gated 365days to get a legendary weapon. What an uproar there would be! Wow I can’t even imagine what it’d look like. Because I tell you now, the toxicity I saw about people needing to wait 14 days or what have you for a few things in HoT’s list of legendary weapons. OH and trust me, even I was furious when I had to wait 19 days for charged quartz to finish bolt, instantly I regretted now saving my gold and buying zap.

All in all, it is a shared responsibility between the majority of the community(maybe 70%?) and the developers. We give them mixed messages constantly of what they should be doing, and they get confused of how they should move forward. We wanted content so they gave us HoT, we cried for nerfs so they did. They gave us raids for hard content, we cry to make it harder.

Meanwhile there are those who take their time and enjoy the game, those who have played for 2 years or so now, and have just gotten their first level 80, those who just got their legendary after 3 years of farming.
To those players, I truly envy you, keep enjoying the game for what it is, and not for what you want.

Well, I managed to finish writing this, it is a lot less “shame on you” towards the community as I originally had it. I hope it doesn’t come across as that, especially as I am one to blame. If this topic could actually go somewhere that’d be awesome, honestly!

We had this as a topic with a “VIP” membership debate. Needless to say it didn’t end well. Haha.
The conclusion was to just buy gems monthly. Granted I’d be okay if there was kitten option!

Yes I was talking about the ones mainly appointed to raid content. Which for your information isn’t such a small player base as you’d think.

I think they should stop the current way they’re doing teasers and add it into a “quarterly update” tease. which is maybe 30-45seconds long, or ~10-15seconds per major content piece.

Just curious on the general feedback and opinions on the theme of teasers ArenaNet is doing.
I hadn’t seen much conversation about it. But in my opinion the teasers aren’t that great in any way. Yes they do tease but not in the good way. It seems more so a marketing ploy instead of content showcase.

I’d like to see pvp/wvw balance differ from PvE in this aspect.

Like for example, mesmers have a lot of block/invul. They also have quiet a few ways to heal passively or through regen and some traits. So their main heal skill should be much lower then what it is now. Say if its heals for 6k it now heals for 2.3k or something. Because you can heal or block so many more attacks.

But the other problem is a sneaky thief running up in stealth from a LoS corner and critting you 0-100 haha.

Software development, and especially game development, is rife with unexpected delays, budget reallocation, and unpredictable production/programming walls.

The policy of not telling us something until it ships is a mature business decision, because it takes into account those systemic problems with software development.

I’d rather be pleasantly surprised getting something I didn’t know about, than disappointed that something I was expecting didn’t happen.

Basically this. You’d be surprised how many times I’m told “Yeah this will be done tomorrow” by a programmer and then get a message in the morning “Sorry ran into a lot of bugs and had to undo all of the nights work to fix it” Or something of the sort.

I really like what they are doing with the WvW polls though. And I like the Content pages we get for new releases. Maybe if they could do something like those two ideas combine?

I don’t think there is a problem with their posture. They are much more bulky than charr from gw1. They’ve adapted to run faster on all fours now, so their body structure is more hunched over.

If this has been discussed for years, then you’d know that it was explained about 2 years ago in a post asking the same thing linking the same photo.

This is at the high end of your budget, note that this does not include a keyboard, mouse, monitor or Operating system. I assume you have them already or can get them another time.
Justification for the build, Gw2 is a CPU and GPU demanding game, it has a lot of AI to render on screen(CPU) and the graphics on high/ultra are a lot of textures to render out(GPU). You didn’t specify which games you’re running besides Gw2. So I went with a simple 970, that should cover most of your needs. I went with a i7 4790k because in my opinion anything below i7 is trash, when talking about gaming and multitasking.

You have a budget clearly over $1000 so you don’t want some toaster that can just get by with nice graphic settings and passible FPS. an i5 and weak graphics card aren’t something you should be looking at. Also as much as I loved AMD for the past few years. They are the underdogs and sadly will stay that way, don’t bother with their cards, even if you get a free 390x like I did haha.

Things you could change on my list to save some more money.
1. brands: I have never been let down by Corsair or Asus, so I will always pick their parts over anyone else even if it costs more.
2. RAM: You could probably find cheaper ram, but it kind of ties in with point 1, and corsair is known for their RAM. But I’d go with 1600 no less, and I don’t think you need over 2000.
3. Motherboard: on PPP, there aren’t that many options under what I picked, but if you see one on newegg or something for cheaper you might want to consider. Motherboards are kind of barebones and the more expensive they are the more features they have, generally speaking.
4. Case: I picked something cheap. I personally would say browse what is there and pick one you like, you’ll be staring at it for awhile now. Again Corsair hasn’t let me down with the case I have.

I tried being as general and not super tech heavy with this post. Hopefully it was easy to follow. If anything use what I picked, as my opinion, for a reference sheet and make your own.
Also know you’ll need to or find someone to build the PC when you get the parts.

I suggest a Charr Revenant, if you own Heart of Thorns by now, or Warrior if you do not.
If you don’t own HoT I suggest trying to do so before getting back into the game. It will make the experience even more refreshed in little ways.

Edit: I realized a flaw in my ability to read. I thought you meant Charr not char. Regardless, I still think my options would work, just don’t have to be a Charr! But heavy armor Charr are superior I’m my opinion.

I’d never ever get a reference card.
I also have a 980ti Strix, and would rather buy another then get a 1080, even an aftermarket one, at this point.

It is hard to say. A quick opinion of mine that I’ve seen.
Ranger : Druid used for heals, can offer some DPS but I don’t think it is that strong.
Engineer : Scrapper Stronger utility, I personally don’t like the hammer, and never saw the engineer as a PvE class. (Sorry I know next to nothing on this class)
Warrior : Berserker they got an update that feels a little lack luster. But they have strong WvW and burst potential.

I hope this weak quick opinion of those three helps?
If you are more specific of which part of PvE we might be able to help you better.

What if instead of getting 2 for completing the world. It just checks off as done and you don’t need them for any future legendary? Like an achievement sort of thing.

Hehe. I thought it was obvious this was meant for optional, no advantage based system. Just because there is an optional sub fee doesn’t mean it’s bad and the game is garbage now.

And I’m sure if a 100% optional fee with no advantage to someone who has it was instead called “BLTC Loot Box” or something. Not a soul would complain. The stigma of sub fee is so strong.

If I want to support the company I should optionally buy $10+ worth of gems? What if I only want to spend $5? How is it any different if 15% of the player base optionally buys gems, or optionally buys a VIP service?

For myself, I’ve already spend over $1000 in gems, and I wouldn’t mind an optional $5 fee, or kitten gem option that I could choose to pay monthly.

As for my main idea. Nay to the 200 gems, 50% reduction of WP costs instead of 100%.

Just my two cents.

I do not really see any benefit for a VIP sub outside of the Gold sink stuff we currently mitigate.

But for 5USD/Month, 200 gems + Gold Sink Removals (or just discounts) could be interesting. And then add on a few convenience items (Bank access, Vendor Access, and BLTP access for the duration of the VIP) it becomes a bit more then just interesting for me.

But the ‘No Item damage on Death’ is kinda important, as repairs can be annoying to deal with when you are doing Raids and learning new content and you run out of the cans.

You’d want to stay away from things like repair fees. I can see elitists say you need to be VIP to join the group. Just so they don’t have to wait 10seconds to have you repair.

I like the idea of a pistol skin for daggers. Simply for the sake of the OP.

Cultural and non uniform pieces are my go to.

For $5 a month:
1. Get 200 gems a month?
2. No waypoint costs
3. Free character slot.
4. Free lv80 boost.

Just a quick thought, not sure if I’d agree with these in a week or two. But I was trying to think of simple things that wouldn’t completely make it a p2w model. (not 100% sold on the gem part)

I looked at a few searches, it seems at the time of those posts, players cannot use face shapes of the DE characters. Looks like you’ll have to make a twin who isn’t exact.

Hmm, I do like the town crier idea. But would people really notice, if they were put in an inn of DR?

That being the unidentified lodestone and now bandit event. These are found under the “Current Events” tab in achievements. After unlocking them from the correct collection item.

I do think the dialogue should be and is needed, but it is indeed too often.

I didn’t read all the replies, but I can say that other fantasy games and movies. Staves are used as catalysts, You don’t need to actually use the staff but be holding onto it.

Mesmer: Axe/Dagger
Thief: Rifle or Mace
Ranger: Off-hand Sword
Warrior: Shortbow
Guardian: Rifle
Engineer: Mace/Warhorn
Revenant: Greatsword/Torch
Elementalist: Main-hand Sword
Necromancer: Torch

To be honest, I don’t know if this whole new weapon for each spec will be consistent. How many more weapons can each profession equally get? Warriors can use almost everything by now.

EDIT: Updated my list. Put more thought into it.

Personally, I’d like to see all nodes on all maps, keeping the level requirement, but distributing it in such a way it reflects realistic statistics.

The funny thing is I only referred to the unreasonable damage coefficients and damage boosts disparity between bursts across professions, and you are the only ones who keep bringing overall build design, survivability, skill, knowledge of profession mechanics, which I didn’t even mentioned at all.

Maybe this is the point. It is true mechanically classes have “strong skills” while others don’t. You’re the only one arguing something is wrong here. In my opinion it is about the builds, nomad warrior won’t hit that high I’m sure. (That is a Joke.)
