Well I THINK I can get some stuff from this thread. It is mostly banter back and forth but I saw some useful comments about other things.
I am by far no expert in networking, but I don’t think computer hardware, excluding network card, affect you getting disconnected. I assume this has to do with your internet or a hiccup in the communication between client and server.
Sadly I don’t have the answer to if these achievements will go away or not in the time to come. I want to say no, but don’t quote me on that.
I’d prefer this for when Cantha is remade for gw2. For now let them focus on fixes and content.
This does not seem right. Did you submit this via in-game support?
It will help a lot more that way than any other way. More people to do it with detailed responses the better.
As for this thread I’ve taken note of it and added it to my log.
I think the shatterer needs buffs. I beat him with pugs first try and had like 5 minutes left. But so far I enjoyed what I’ve seen, gliding and lunar year.
Please read this dev post to better understand your experience.
I’ve read that post already. I understand that the event was in mind of leveled players of that map and that with less people it would be harder. But it is a quick and easy boss that will always have a lot of people doing it.
And second I thought I read it was to stop players from afk killing it. From the one time, granted this is one time, I did the event. There is already a zerg or two just afk killing him still. Even if he was meant for lower level, I still think he should live up to his title. Being a strong dragon minion. Heck teakettle is in a level 60 zone and was harder than any level 80 event, people love(ed) that. I look forward to seeing how this evolves.
My only concern is that when I did it with a group full of people, we just stood there pressing 1. It seems a safe zone has already been found, close to the old one. Sure the “casuals” used lightly here, were using gliders and such. Because its new and cool. But the zerg just afk autoattacked still. I saw some move a little bit but I don’t see improvement here.

That wont be much of a leap now will it.
Another place is the light house in LA.
Also when we say English. You mean British English right?
Because to me, the American way is “goal-um” because sports.
And the English way is “gall-um”. Because reasons.
On a more serious note. It is pronounced how ever you want to. And in the end it doesn’t really matter.
I’ll be going to DR bank and glide down from the statute.

GameJust because a games is classified as Multiplayer, doesn’t mean you have or need, to play with others. All it means is that people are online at the same time and can interact with the world at the same time.
That is partially irrelevant. It is an MMO, they are meant to be played with people. Even so. I’ve gotten to all the new maps solo on a elementalist zerk build and finished the elite specs for every class with less than 5 people. I’ve beaten the personal story on my mesmer with my girlfriend on her thief and had no problems. Your points are invalid. Sorry but this topic had been made since the expansion was released and the community has shut it down everytime.
:Ps: They advertised HoT as hard content.
I changed the title to include “[Suggestion]” within it so that it will be more easily spotted. Therefore, in case anyone had it bookmarked, I’m shamelessly bumping the thread to the top.
-chants- sticky it…sticky it…sticky it…
If I get more time ill see what I can brainstorm.
Yeah, I can’t get on the ‘delete their name if they have been inactive for ’x’ time or longer’ bandwagon. Nope, sorry.
I would be utterly kittened if names that I stayed up all night to get at launch were suddenly “gone” because I chose to take a break, or because life was more important than a game for a period of time.
But what if they hadn’t been on since the first week of launch?
Some of those come back. I’ve seen posts from people who’ve been gone for a long time. A new guildie was gone for 2 plus years, and has returned. There’s threads on this forum on a regular basis where people are returning after long absences, and they are returning to an intact account without char names having been stripped from it. It’s one of the bonuses to this game that you can leave and know your account is there waiting for you, untouched, when you return.
I can agree with that.
I am victim to have the name taken seconds after I went to make my character though. arugh!( at ore launch)
Well said with the first two points.
I could deal without linkable achievements.
A lfg raid is a must too.

I’m not sure how it is now, because of the guild hall locking away content in tiers.
But before it was very viable to use it as extra bank space for you and friends.
I also mained Mesmer since release. But in my opinion, personally, I never really noticed Mesmers being strong. I am unhappy with offensive nerfs in PvE. We will see if they are needed more than they need, and take it from there.
I’d start with removing the mini map icon, and possibly the apple over your head. Leave the [ mentor ] part in chat, this way people wont use it for a tag.
Then possibly a search feature?
I would say finish your personally story, I’d you haven’t already . Then hot story torn from the sky. This unlocks masteries as said above. Then I would work on map complete. Try using weapons you hadn’t used before. Playing with action camera, first person, or no HUD even. Spice it up a bit. Then work towards ascended weapons. And takes it from there. While playing hot stuff.
I personally think CDI’s need to come back.
It made the people who truly cared for the game think about it and weeded out the people who just troll and think absurd ideas.
kitten ….. I must have missed a memo…

Welcome to “Too Many Characters Anonymous”.
We here would like to enroll you in our too many characters program.
I’ll be your guide. I myself have 20 characters and 15 of them are max level and ascended or exotic geared. While being here you enjoy the free refreshments annually. An empty wallet and a wardrobe the size of Texas. Along with countless hours of logging into each of them into farming maps.
We understand your side effects being, but not limited to;
1) lack of transmutation stones
2) lack of in game gold
3) having more than 2 of the same class and don’t know why.
4) Slight OCD problems with characters and their location on the log in screen.
We here at TMCA once more Welcome you, and your problems and will do our best to help you.
On a side note, I agree with JustaFleshWound and you should seek another game.
Play each class a bit in the heart of mists. Get a feel for each one at end game and play it.
This will help reduce the “what should I do, which class to play” questions that many have, including myself. Even with 15 level 80s I still don’t know what my main is lol.
Focus on saving materials and all currency you get. Farm and craft all you need while you level, or just use what drops.
Try leveling in a group.
I’m sure there is more I could add, but I’m really tired.
Hope this helps!
The drink 10000 drinks will be here after January 12th.
Make sure to get all the other achievements/collections before then.
The thing is, from what I recall, the “currency” you get from unlocking the workshop was to replace influences use to speed upgrades up? And the more your guild plays together the more you get?
I heard something about it on one of the streams.
I vote no for influence back, no matter how it’s implemented.
1. 1700 gems is a lot.
2.. Most civilizations of a “medieval” time don’t have instant time transportation, where you can go across the world and still be at the same second as you were when you went through.
3. Mounts are technically in the gem store already. Broomstick, Drill, Carpet.
Lol, I guess doing research would have helped in this case huh. :]
I actually play the jumping puzzle with the HuD turned off. I don’t need to know what my hp is at because I know if I don’t see it, I don’t worry. If I don’t worry I don’t mess up.
The timer will run out if you make a mistake. Take all the time you need on the first part. When you get to the campfire you’ll get all your health back. From there wait until you understand the presents and when they spawn, which pop first etc. After that its all about dodge rolling and timing.dodge roll for a little momentum as well.
I have a small guild of 32 is people. But only 3 of us actually play the game. Others don’t rep it don’t play.
Of the three of us, the guild started at about rank 5 and we are now rank 10 just got our work station, and already almost the market.
Sure we individually spend more gold. But we are managing fine.
I’m sure me having 16 characters farming mats for it is helping too.
It seems I wasn’t clear, paying TWO TICKETS gets you the ENTIRE set. Not one piece.
The RNG is getting the tickets, not the armor.
I should take a how to write posts more clear class huh? haha.
My apologies for all the confusion.
Did you mean Black Lion Tickets, rather than keys? I mean, keys are rather easy to come by….
Oh my god. Give this man a reward.
YES I meant tickets lmao.
I shouldn’t post things while tired.
Updated main post, really sorry guys and gals!
(edited by Riku.4821)
Corrected main post.
Once the new set comes out, this set goes to 5, when a third new set comes out, first one goes to 7.
To make it easier for the programmers, we are leaving it as it is in the base game. if you buy, say primeval armor, you get a “box” of primeval armor. opening that gives you the 6 pieces.
It is also easier to make 2 keys the price of 1 item, then it is to make 2 keys the cost of 6 items.
This is an idea for if they don’t add real armor to the gem store or in game.
DISCLAIMER: NO COMMENTS ABOUT WANTING IN GAME ITEMS OR LESS GEM STORE IDEAS. Also this was a quick idea I had just after dinner, not much thought was put in it.
With that said. What are your opinions on adding armor sets to the BLTC TICKET system?
Every two weeks we get an armor set. Lets say 2 TICKETS gets you an item which contains ALL the armor pieces. Then the weapons could go with this set or not.
After next weeks set this set goes to 5 then 7 like weapons.
If that example isn’t one you’d like, suggest your own below.

Personally I’m fine with how it is.
Gem store gets them money, money keeps them getting us content.
I wouldn’t delete them. The third (and possibly future) birthday gifts are quite valuable with their access to dyes worth several hundred gold.
What you can do is park them somewhere useful for a daily harvest, either a rich node or place with a lot of nodes close together or a magnificent chest such as the one at the end of the Pirate JP in Lion’s Arch or if you have HoT, park it at the flax farm and sell the flax or donate to your guild. When you need tools or salvage kits, go to WvW or PvP and back to where you were. I have a level 80 warrior that I only use now for a daily harvest.
This most definitely. I have 20 characters. 16 of them are farming materials for my guild.
14 are level 80.
These skins are suppose to take time to give prestige. I have only seen two people with nightfury, and one with the snow one.
This is good, it adds what the game needs. Just my two cents. I know people will complain about needing to grind for something they want for free or cheap. But it is what it is, and remember it is an optional thing to do. If you want it, commit to it.
I have to question the wisdom in that, honestly. For a genre that’s in a rat race to appeal to as many potential players as possible, it seems self-defeating to implement rewards that only benefit a minority of the player base.
That being said, I’m not advocating anything silly like making every skin available sans any effort, I’m okay with the idea of prestigious skins… but I would rather they actually represent something that reflects that prestige; PvP tournament armor skins, PvP league backpiece, and (eventually) PvE raid armor are good examples of cosmetics that actually have prestige because they’re actually earned – the Halloween and Wintersday shoulders are not, because all they represent are luck and wealth respectively.
I mean, really, anyone who’s walking around with a snowy aura right now 100% got that from buying drinks from the TP, how’s that any more prestigious than the people who bought their legendaries off the TP?
Well you do have a point. I know only a couple of people who are near the 1000s without buying them. On the first day mind you. But your example would show even higher prestige that “actually matters” , while this is more large wallet prestige I suppose.

Straight out of the patch notes ,
“•There are returning and new permanent Wintersday achievements as well as new daily achievements.”
I’d assume it is to stay.

I grabbed the gifts at the gift tree and then I changed into an enchanted snowball and glided around in Verdant Brink. After 1hr I had 50k drinks and also a Legendary precursor dropped from a Skritt.
I can see myself getting the shoulder skin if I do this for 20 days. Even while not playing Gw2. PS I like these kind of exclusive items that require huge time investments.
It makes em so special.
What is the relevance to the snow ball?
Having a happy veteran player base is better as they will convince others to play who will be more loyal. 99% if the player base is not unhappy, just those willing to go to the forums. Gw1 had a bunch of things like this.
The problem with the three new legendary weapons is they just aren’t good. They aren’t eternity status for wow factor.
Hellfire, is locked away in achievement points, but hey that is something so I agree.
As stated this is not really HoT related.
Second locking titles, and other cosmetic behind long tasks, especially consuming holiday items is something they have always done. It is just the first time in gw2. It was all over gw1 and still accepted.
As it seems the collection isn’t going anywhere. And as Arena Net is famous for. Next year will be a other chance to get the drinks. Or buy the gifts way later in the year for cheap and get the drinks.
Gw2 has always had the problem of no prestige factor with cosmetics. Dungeon armor, everyone had, mystic forge skins no one cared for, fractal skins were not very good. Legendries’ I am assuming 75% of players bought them.
So then came the Halloween skins you could earn by RNG, the first year ones. They cost more than most legendary weapons on the TP. And so on.
Now we come to the current. Where we have a mystic forge recipe that costs a lot of gold, and is also more costly than more legendary weapons.
People complained about the RNG.
Now we have a collection for the next prestige skin, 80% of it is is doing the holiday events and making a few easy mystic forge items. The rest is drinking consumables that you get for just playing.
These skins are suppose to take time to give prestige. I have only seen two people with nightfury, and one with the snow one.

I don’t see the problem. Gw1 has achievements like this. And it seems they will be available after wintersday. Just play the game and enjoy it. No need to grind. Yes 10k is a lot but they will come in time.
It is generally the far most left hair styles.

Or look here.
I felt they were a little lack luster. Only ones I liked were the pony tails for male and female humans. I did not see Asura hairs fyi.
I think they are just on the back burner at the moment.
Their drivers have been bad since I had the 6950 at least. And this continued all the way until the end of the 390×. Even if their drivers are catching up with Nvidia, it wont help much. NVIDIA has hands in so many companies engines that they are all optimized purely for Nvidia and you’ll lose performance for not having Nvidia.
All right this is getting ridiculous but you’re just 100% wrong here on so many levels, especially when it comes to performance. Since you seem convinced of that I’m not going to keep going but the AMD’s performance is fine and beats nVidia at the same price point pretty much across the board, not to mention the fact that their drivers have been fine since the late 5000 series.
You really like to argue for the point of arguing don’t you?
It has been said again and again, NVIDIA has better drivers than AMD. And again, games themselves are optimized to play on NVIDIA.
I really don’t see why you come back here just to argue AMD over Nvidia, and argue what a budget is.
It has been proven that “across the board” NVIDIA has won. R9 fury x, the top AMD card doesn’t beat 980 to and they are the same price.
So let us keep the opinions to ourselves and help the poor thread owner who has to scroll past your massive quote walls and other massive amounts of texts to find his answers for his $1100 budget PC for guild wars and the like.
Again, future proof. If you don’t want to spend alot often, you spend it all up front.
You can still spend a bit every couple years and come out ahead, though, with a medium investment. Not that you can ever really futureproof a computer, though.
Also $1100 or so isn’t low end budget
I never said it was. $1100 for a tower actually starts breaking into the higher end.
And I am sick of bad drivers and lower performance for a still high price.
Oh come on. AMD’s drivers are fine these days and they have objectively better cards at many/most price points.
I would have suggested a 380x cause it’s a 1080p monster, but I didn’t want the OP to suffer on nvidia optimised games like Witcher 3, etc…
I mean the 380x is a great card but if you’re going for something 970 level I was just pointing out that a 390 is generally a better buy.
Really don’t feel like removing all the quotes within quotes this time lol. Really annoying on a phone.
The thread owner said his budget is $1100 or so. Which is high end.

I didn’t buy the 390x msi gave it to me for free because my 290x was almost capping at 100c within 5 minutes of Turing a game on, and 70c at idle.
And no, not much was wrong with the card, it was just a really hot card to start with and probably burnt away the cooling compound.
I don’t hate AMD, I went from a 6950 to a 7970 to a 290x to a 980ti and have finally felt like I got my moneys worth.
I love AMD designs, but now I realize design means nothing as third party cards all look the same. And I am sick of bad drivers and lower performance for a still high price.
I don’t think they plan on optimizing the graphics. But they are reducing visual noise. That wont help to much. Beat thing is upgrade the pc.
Snip…
I’d like to say that I view it more for cheapest best pc for longevity, and not cheap throw together to save money. But to be fair, this is a PC to play mainly gw2, I play gw2, and games like the witcher 3 and skyrim maxed out and graphical mods while maintaining stable 60fps.
I am sure some other brands are cheaper than corsair, but I have never been let down from corsair and the extra pay is enough for the service and efficiency in my opinion.
For a gw2 only PC I guess what I said is a bit to over priced. But it is indeed future proof.
Lastly on terms of the 390x better than the 970, my justification is that the r9 200 series doesn’t exist in my opinion as they are just terrible. I am glad I got rid of my 290x, and now I have a 980 ti and spare 390x still in the box.
