Zerker meta is caused by one and only thing, absence of essential “roles” in PvE, aka trinity or similar system.
So until the game gets total overhaul, there will be zerker meta. Anet is clearly ok with that, so there’s no way to change that.tl,dr: take it or leave it.

This is my opinion, you’re free to have your own of course.However, the game is built that way, especially in the dungeon scenario, where most of the dangerous “mechanics” can be skipped/glitched/avoided, therefore are not existant for speedrunners and is possible to run those in full zerker gear because of this.
No ‘mechanics’ are skipped – we actively ‘defend’ against them. You just dont notice the videos where we use control skills to prevent these from happening.
Please go play a different game if you want a holy trinity or traditional MMO with elves, death necros, fairys, vampires and such like.
I can even recommend a few for you !
Tell this to the trap floor in CM, where a shadowstep/another kind of teleport through the ceiling from the floor under it skips it, will ya? Or the last boss in the same dungeon (don’t know the path now), where it’s often intentionally bugged into a rock, so he can’t reach players outside of his AOE attacks which are easily dodgable….
Also, I neither look for another MMO, nor want a trinity system here, I just would like to see working PvE, not skip/glitch fest like it’s now…
Skipping mobs is a valid mechanic and part of meta play.
While I’m at it : " Stelth is a valid mechanic" and is encouraged to “skip” large portions of play.
Glitching is an exploit – let’s not discuss those here.I understand these are probably your experiences – and this seems off topic to “meta” play tbh. Prehaps start a new thread?

And yeah, glitching is exploiting, exactly. How would you name bugging a boss to get stuck in place or teleporting through a ceiling to avoid a trap room?
Try this in without reporting a bug in a game where devs/GMs actually care about their PvE and you’ll see what happens…. I’ll give you a hint, the word has 3 letters, starts with a “b” and ends with “n”.
Also, for the comments like “try this encounter without stacking etc…”, I understand that some encounters are much harder without stacking, but that’s just a result of a poor design, and stacking as a “tactic” should never became a thing, however Anet forced players to it unfortunately….

Doesn’t change the fact that devs will have to look at them and take them into account.
What’s more, moderators will lock them and archive/delete them.Even if it’ll change the stupidity behind some nerfs which were a community tears wish, even by half, I find it as improvement.

Finally, lazy nabs won’t affect profession balancing decisions. Everything will be up to devs. No pressure. Adapt or gtfo!

Imho everything is quite easy, even Elementalist (was my first char, if you manage to have up-to-date Equip, it’s not a problem at all), just the Mesmer is somehow PITA, because slow…
The easiest are of course Ranger/Warrior/Guardian, but also, boring as hell….

If it is intended behavior, it changed with this patch.
Hitting ‘OK’ has been behaving this way since the initial TP 2.0 update, it is not new.
However, what is new is that you are no longer forced to close the item information pop-up after completing a sale if you happen to have no more of that item left to sell.
The trading window for a certain item stays even though you don’t have any more of that item after clicking “ok” , this definitely changed by the patch, it wasn’t behaving like this before.
OP: This is not the game problem, it’s the community problem. However, the community is like that for a good 10 years, unfortunately….
The worst thing is that it affects games as well….
Raid makes no sense imho, in a game without a solid PvE mechanic (just look at the dungeons, how those works).
It’s just about one thing, skip this, glitch that, bug those, stack there. I don’t see any real PvE behind it….
Just my 2 cents though….Stop comparing the same old dungeons from original game. They showed with all content after the initial release that they can implement interesting mechanics.
Firstly, don’t tell me what to do.
Secondly, I just expressed my opinion. Yeah, in the newer LS, there were some interesting mechanics, however that is solo-scenario. So until I’ll see something interesting and working in group scenario, I remain sceptical. That’s all.

Anet nerfed the ele so bad that there are only 2 builds that function properly with slight variants, and one of those 2 builds let you survive while the other lets you burst and die. They claimed in the past to have improved the ele build variety but all their “effort” ended up being a massive failure. The class doesn’t even have an elite worth using in WvW.
The only thing possible to keep up is play the meta, and that is celestial stats and might stacking right now with 0/2/0/6/6 or 0/0/2/6/6. If they nerf that the class will be literally worthless.
0/0/6/4/4 on d/d is interesting for dueling condi builds but in every other context it’s useless. Condi builds really have their shortcoming.
Well, I can only second this. The history of Elementalists is filled with a lot of unnecessary nerfs and that is the reason a spec like D/D Cele Ele became a thing, because we basically don’t have any other spec which can be played “competitively”.
Remember RTL? Lava font? Stunbreaks?……….

Well, I noticed a differrence in the recent LS too. The monsters seem to obviously focus me (even though I don’t attack and only summon illusions on my mesmer), which is weird and certainly not normal AI behaviour. Dunno if this is intended, just sharing my observation.

Ppl are leaving due to this, that’s a fact. If there were something Anet want to do about this issue, they would already told that, because they know.
This silence proves only one thing, there’s nothing to announce about this issue, or the reaction would make more ppl leave, obviously.
Well if I remember correctly, the justification they gave for changing the traits was “for the new players”, so to me, that equates to the “new player experience”, because it’s not the same experience I had when I played my first character.

I have 6 points. I run the standard 0 0 2 6 6 D/D Cele build
So the combination I wrote is probably the best one, with the one switchable trait, which depends on your personal preference. Just try it and you’ll see which one fits you better m8.

My problem with PvE is simple, there’s none.
Sorry if it sounds weird to someone, but I don’t consider this skip/glitch/stackfest to deserve to be named PvE. It’s more like PvGame – without any rules.
For those which are about to force me their opinion about making my own groups etc., this is irrelevant to me. The result of succesful run is based on those who can do it the fastest way (rewards mainly), so there’s no motivation to do it “regularly” at all.

Do you have 4 or 6 points in the water?
With 6 points, I prefer to use Cantrip mastery + Soothing distruption + Cleansing water.
Soothing wave seems too weak for me, as it procs only when critically hit and the regen is short.
However, you can always switch the Soothing distruption for the Cleansing wave if it fits you better, I prefer to have “on demand” regen even outside of water attunement thanks to Soothing distruption.

lemme repeat that: your mind wrack needs to hit 3 separate times in order to accumulate the damage remotely similar to a thieves stealthed backstab.
It has to hit 3 times,indeed,but whereas a thief’s backstab only hits once you hit THREE times. You can negate a thief’s backstab,but alot harder negating all three shatters. Shatter is also AOE,a thieves backstab is not. A shatter can remove boons on hit (1 removed boon per illusion shattered,also AOE), a thief’s backstab does not.
Also, don’t forget that you can hit 4 times with shatter, even from stealth if you don’t screw up, the AOE and boon stripping is a nice bonus for that

Anyway, unlike a thief or a mesmer, a ranger doesn’t come from nowhere. If you don’t look around from time to time, that’s your problem. And, if a rapid fire from a ranger kills you, what about a backstab thief, who can actually pop from nowhere?

Yeah, really “pseudo” because LB #3 has to actually hit to stealth the ranger, therefore making the target aware of his presence.
Well, I actually really enjoyed the targeting system of Tera, it was something new and it’s very active gameplay.
I wouldn’t have returned to GW2 if Tera was not so time-consuming (Equipment grind etc…) and Gameforge so bad in game management. Also I don’t exactly like those typical “asian” stuff added to a fantasy game, like police cars, school outfits and similar “weird” things…
I really enjoyed the combat in Tera, on all classes I played (everything except the Reaper, I hate Elins
). And even the PvE was good there, it has a modified trinity system, but at least it has a system. It’s not like here, where stacking, skipping, glitching is somehow considered “skillful” even though it just degraded PvE into a total boredom….
The average amount of common mats you get is not influenced by the rarity of the kit but the item you salvage.
A chestpiece yields more than a glove, a 2 handed weapon yields more than a 1 handed weapon.True, but I do remember salvaging a chestplate and sometimes getting 2, other times getting 3. So I was wondering if that is affected by the rarity. But that’s pretty interesting that each item still has its own percentage of rare materials through salvage.
Or there’s a possibility that even the crude salvage kit has some chance to salvage rarer materials, it’s just not described on the tooltip. Maybe the chance is same as the “upgrade recovery” chance, which seems to be around 5% according to wiki.
Thief – top tier DPS class, useful utilities (Shadow refuge, shortbow blasts, lot of AOE stealth possibilities).

And like I said,you will dodge,but you first take more than 50% of the dmg and it is still alot.(in situations when RF comes from nowhere).
Rapid fire never comes from nowhere. If you aren’t capable of scanning your surroundings and are too slow to react then you shouldn’t play so glassy.
My counter to this is Why should I waste block just on the 1st arrow while I get the rest of the arrows? while on eviscerate-blocking really blocks all the attack?
You really just don’t know how the game works do you? Block skills end after 1 melee hit, for projectiles they block for the full duration of the block skill.

I have never once since this game was in beta been instantly burst down by a RF ranger. In fact I am struggling to remember ever dying to a solo RF ranger. The few rangers I’ve run into that gave me a hard time were condi regen.
The SECOND my health starts dropping…you said it requires 1.25 seconds to get 50% health down,so SECOND is like 40%?and that’s like 1200m away.
He said it takes 1.25 seconds for a rapid fire to deliver half of its damage. If 50% of rapid fire = 50% of your life then, once again, you need to stop playing so glassy.
The average reaction time for human is 0.50 seconds if you doing other things,that is half second of RF already,and most ppl cannot react in half second nor pop dodge or anything in middle of a fight
Average human reaction time falls between .15 and .3 seconds. If you can’t react in over half a second then that is because you are much slower than the average person.

Yeah it’s pretty tough honestly i think im gonna quit living story stuff altogether and just focus on world boss train and try to fin da guild that focuses on lower level zones, imo they are the most fun to play in.
I don’t see what’s hard about setting a mine (one key-press), position behind it (one key press) and luring the group of wolves into it (one mouse-click and one key-press).

especially lvl 80 areas and i am fully geared and traited and achievements are pretty much impossible. hopefully things will change guess in the meantime ill go back to swtor, dont mind paying 15 a month if i actually enjoy playing the game.

SIlverwaste its just ridiculously hard and all the events fail and even the story achievements i cant get a single one done.
That’s odd. When I go to Silverwastes none of the events fail. I see people getting the Dolyaks to the camps, reclaiming camps, and so on. Just out of curiosity though, which story achievements are trying to get?
I can’t get any of the story achievemnts. for example i just tried the one where u escort mission and dont let the npcs die, and i even had 2 people in a group with me, and 1 npc always dies.
Use the mines (plant on the dead husk bodies) and you’ll see it’s not that hard to do.

Its hard cus warrior is the only class I can actually play, but even my warrior gets 2 shotted by champs in lvl 80 areas.
and swtor is a million times smoother cus u can have companions that fight with you and if you get a healer companion they can follow you and heal you which makes things much better.
What about the guard that you only play or the ranger that you only play?
