So since you guys merge team q and solo q and still only have invididual leaderboards where every player can track his own position but not the position of his team as

1) team x ..points
2) team y …points

i really see a problem:

so when you play with your full team you will most likely get matched against a full team
which is good but if you decide to solo join this ranked system losing will also affect your leaderboard ranking that you build up really hard with your team probably
why would a player with a good team decide to solo q then?

all of this wouldnt really matter but it feels like you guys are thinking of implementing rewards for good leaderboard positions in the future which is the reason for no player with a decent team going to solo q in “ranked” once its implemented imo

it takes 12 traits ( minor ones included )to make steal as strong it is yet you feel your kittening is justified i bet …………………….people.

so, mesmer has 12 traits, but are shatters as strong as steal?
warrior has 12 traits, but are burst skills as strong as steal?

why to justify……hmmmmm…

what shatter build puts 12 traits into mind wrack? and yes warrior’s burst skill when treated is pretty kitten esp with long bow.

mesmer’s mind wrack build would never get close to “steal” but thats not what we are discussing in this thread anyways

Summary of steal when using the current thief build (30 0 10 0 30)

1) 1.244 dmg (usually more)
2) 2 boons stolen (priority on stability)
3) giving these boons to you and nearby allies in a radius of 240
4) grants vigor for 10 seconds
5) grants you and allies in a radius of 360 fury for around 10 sec
6) grants you and allies in a radius of 360 swiftness for around 10 sec (and 1 might stack)
7) heals you for 2.040
8) puts poison on the enemy for 13 seconds
9) dazes the target (which goes through stab because its first priority on boons removed)
10) when using the current backstab build with panic strike it afflicts weakness for 51/4 sec on the enemy
11) recharges all skills of one type (traps, venoms etc)
12) gives you 2 initiative
13) has a 900 range
14) is instacast
15) can even be casted if you cannot even port to the target currently because he is on an obstacle (effects still proc)
16) only has 21 1/2 seconds cooldown
17) ports to the target (instant gapcloser)
18) you get a skill that in most cases counters your enemy for a certain amount of time

Can you not see how this is utterly broken?

Your list appears to include the effects of numerous traits, both minor and major.
Let me shave that down for you, to just what steal does.

Yup. That’s it. Everything else you listed is the result of a trait, and not steal itself (or in the case of point 18, highly subjective).

Your list includes the effects of 5 (out of 7) major traits and 3 out of 7 minor traits – it seems to me if the majority of your traits are dedicated to a single skill, it should be pretty strong.

If you can’t state your point honestly without hyperbole and misleading posting techniques(like having to break a trait down into 2-5 separate points so your list looked impressive and Point 10 brings up a trait that doesn’t interact with steal at all), you don’t really have a point to make.

To be honest I don’t acually mind having such a thing on thief because thief requires at lot of skill to be played competetively but the problem is that even tho the thief uses a lot of trait points to improve his “steal” ability in order to improve his survivability he still deals a ridiculous amount of dmg by double procs (air-fire, fire-blood)

Solution:
1.) Add counterplay to steal (you can only predict it atm)
2.) Remove some effects of steal – or – nerf double procs but make up for the nerfs by buffing other things on classes (not thief) that rely on these procs to have sustained dmg

I do also think that passive stuff in this game needs an overwork as well (necro fear procs, engi burning, mesmer condi output) and the strength of weaponswitches with geomancy and doom on some classes

as well as relying on autoattack for dmg
mesmer – gs
ranger – shortbow
thief – autoattack
warrior – axe (except for eviscerate)
but this time i really want to discuss “steal”

also dont forget the day “pin down” got an animation – it added so much more skill to duels fighting as or against a warrior

Experiencing terrible lag on pretty much all skills/ports for over a month now
with a connection like that I don’t think it will be possible for me to play in the WTS Qualy as well as the ToG Final

I don’t experience lag with any other game let it be Dota 2 or any kind of shooter

Please fix your servers or else there will never be a fair matchup in this game with both teams having the same chances of winning
at this point it’s even impossible for me to dodge skills because my dodges have a 1-2 sec delay sometimes

how is he supposed to kill a dd ele alone while he gets chased by 2 guys

edit: mesmer is like necro he can put huge pressure on the enemy team alone if he can freecast to a certain point but he cant really kill 3 people alone so dont just focus on protecting the mesmer rather do this AND focus the targets the mesmer is focusing

and saying that you were 2vs4 on point is not really true since the damage dealers were chasing your mesmer so there wasnt any dmg on point just let one stand on point and rest supports mesmer when they overextend its perfect for you

So my team was playing team q and all 2 minutes the game crashed and threw half our members out so we lost against some nonames
i am not saying that i am mad but kitten is it so hard to implement a patch where the game works afterwards? do you test your stuff before you implement it?

Just type moa into the trading post and see what happens (just one example) try stomping when someone is down (doesnt work right after he went down)
after the server were updated the lagg didnt even disappear

seriously guys….the patch didnt have that many new features and now half of the stuff doesnt work

Ranger is utterly broken from range even tho the only thing power ranger really needed was a little bit of sustain

I was playing some matches with my mates and 99% of the time when we tried to stomp somebody we had to wait like 2 seconds to be able to do that

this bug should be fixed asap because it destroys the way the game is supposed to work and leaves the enemy team with way more time to rezz the player up than it should used to be

I don’t think you guys know the meaning of an “all-star” tournament
basically it means that there are known players from different teams playing with each other…apparently guys like fake and others didn’t deserve to play because team mist got pushed by blu etc and now we have the full roaster play at lan..
but tbh i didn’t expect much from this

Going to say 55 and I Love Lunch come out on top tomorrow.

Not so much of a stretch really…

We, TCS, are in the fourth bracket, means even if we win two matches, we are up against 55HP Monks, and there is no way in hell that outcome is going to be in our,nor anyone’s favor…

What shocked me a bit though is that BooN has a high chance of not being in the tournament as they applied for it a bit late (Got this from Fake)
That is a kitten shame, they are my favourite team to see play

hey guys so i have actually tested a few things now the damage is exactly the same over time i hit the target golem 50 times with both builds once when he was above 50% health and once when he was below so i could get accurate infos
the “old” pistol whip build sometimes hits harder but sometimes you hit a lot lower it all depends on your crit luck

also the new build has the advantage of having the 10% dmg bonus all the time when the enemy has a condi on him which is all the time in tournys
the old one 10% dmg bonus is rarely to proc since you dont have more than 6 initiative most of the time

so my resume between the builds is that my build is more rewarding for players that time their pistol whips well and know how to manage their initiative because the pistol whips are more consistent and steal is more important to the build

the “old” build has a little bit better sustain and initiative regen but depends A LOT on critluck

necromancer is by no means a bad class in tpvp it just requires a better positioning and understanding of how the class works than many other classes..having ventari on his necromancer in team boon is really an advantage for us and due to his skill he is extremely useful in almost every situation

IMO they need to bring ele back to where they were before. The changes to ride the lighting and stun breaks hurt them badly. If ele was at the level it was a year ago no one would think they were op because every other class has gotten a lot of love in that time. I really don’t think the old ele could be considered OP in this meta and don’t see these changes to traits really giving them any upper hand.

rtl nerf was deserved…otherwise eles would reset fight everytime they want, there are other things to look at in order to improve eles…but reverting rtl is not one of those

somehow can’t manage to deal 2k damage? (in some crazy alternate universe)
just slot lightning sigil, 3 second cooldown, around 1500 damage.

honestly 10% of an eles health is nothing.
i don’t like the trait because i feel it is too weak
the moment someone looks at an ele that ele loses 10% of their hp.

try that as a necro (and please dont come with “slot a lightning sigil on one of the weapons”)

Just make berserker-stance reducing 100% condition-duration regarding the opponents “condition duration stat”. If he has more than 100% through traits or runes/sigils, than he applies his condition duration minus these 100% of the stance.

With this way, classes that actually run condition specs are applying at least some sort of damage, while builds that rely more on direct damage can’t apply conditions (or not as effective)

since a 100% condition immunity to a specific sort of damage is a very bad mechanic without counterplay for some classes it should not be in the game

having automated response changed that conditions can be applied but only last 50% as long is a very good idea and is really good for the game

Now let’s check some other traits or skills in the game which have that

Bersercer’s stance: imo it should be changed the same way decrease the cooldown but make it so conditions can be applied with only 50% the duration
Diamond Skin: same thing basically as ar: change it so that it lasts till 75% or 80% of the ele’s hp but only reduce the condi duration by 50%

With these changes and the rest of the upcoming changes i am quite optimistic when it comes to the next months of gw2

Berserker stance is on a 60 sec cd with a 8 sec uptime.Reducing it to only 50% condi duration would make this skill completely useless,espec if meeting a class that’s using +condi duration.Berserk stance is Needed for many warr builds in this over the top condi spamming game,start realizing this.

Bad thieves getting away with spamming shortbow #3? Never seen such thing. It can indeed save them from a few hits, but once initiative is over, it’s over.
I never got “kited to death”, perhaps because I also used a ranged weapon.

of course they dont only kite to death but they evade some really heavy attacks with spamming shortbow 3 especially when immobilised and then they use a combination of sb 1 and 3 to kite while still doing decent dmg

Yeh they should mimic the ar changes for diamond skin and zerker stance. I can’t see it happening though. Or if it does it will be 6 months away by which time the game will be dead.

As for diamond skin vs stone heart. The ele can simply change based on who they face.

Vs a ranger and necro = diamond skin
Vs a thief and 2 warriors = stone heart

these are exactly my fears :/

I agree with that, although I can’t see diamond skin getting play over stone heart.

Stone heart will not only be a great anti-burst tool, but it’ll also screw with boon and condition procs, and is found in the traitline where rock solid lies in (to use with ether renewal). It’s too good of a combo for diamond skin to compete with.

i agree that the choice will probably be made concerning the enemy lineup but there is no counterplay to diamond skin (for some builds/classes) so i would love to see it changed
also i am afraid we might see a bunker ele back in the game :/

The leaderboard bragging is strong in there. If you’re so pro you should kill those ‘bad thieves’ spamming one skill.

Assuming the classes are balanced. Which they’re not. Which is why this thread exists.

didnt read through any of the comments really, but this is a bad post. For startes, if a thief spams 3 for evade, kill him. just blatantly kill him. he is out of attacks, and his shortbow is out. secondly, that is one glassy thief is his 1 skill is killing all your clones. i bet you could out glass him if you were good at the game. third. one immobilize is getting you killed? this is clearly a l2p issue. looks like you got pwnt by a bad thief and now you are crying about it.

can you read? the immobilise if obviously a bug that needs to be fixed and shouldnt be killed
also better check the leaderboards before you complain about my skill
next please read more carefully as i said these are several things that are a bad design and having ALL OF THEM TOGETHER can kill a mesmer easily…not JUST the immobilise or JUST how stealth works…sometimes i even wonder if people take the time reading more than the headline…

Sorry if basilisk venom is bugged, like you said earlier, but that doesnt mean thief needs a re-work. cant handle 2 seconds immobilize? not our fault. auto attack killing you? not. our. fault.
