It is almost perma stab since you can get into that transform easily.

Necro already has bunch of fear, chill and cripple things like that but I wonder why anet gave perma stab to them. YEs of course, becuz of those fear,chill, cripple and even perma stab, most of melee people will have huge problem against reaper. Thus OP.

Btw, any kind of perma stab shouldn’t be exist including Berserker warrior’s Eternal Champion in the game except rampage or lich form that takes like 150s to recharge.

This is just way too stupid mechanic that doesn’t even care of personal skill but is just passive cheesy stuffs that last for 10s~20s or whatever.

And no, most nabs will have a problem vs Reaper.

Oh I know what he wants, just don’t want him spreading false info. They gave necro some stab because they turned shroud melee now people have to figure out a different way to kill a necro than wait for them to burn a stunbreak and just cc them for a 30 seconds.

I’m sure it’s hard to get used to spec that for 3 years could be pinned to ground and couldn’t even flick a finger.

Such Nightmare came along with HoT.

Current system is not even balanced.

Last time anet nerfed DD cele ele, that was the time the game has been one of most balanced system in gw2 history and that took an year. It will take another year to be blanaced well. And anet want to deliver league to us when the balance is in worst state ever again.

eSports or league at this moment? completely non-sense.

Do something on druid (perma heal), reaper (perma stability), DH (perma invisible traps) first and then league is a way to go when the balance issue is fixed.

How does reaper have perma stab?

I don’t know, but I’m sure he wants a nerf.

That black thing inside is just ridiculous.

What?! That’s even one of the best designs! It’s elegant and classy, although one can see the polygon shapes on the butt, but that’s an engine issue not an issue with the outfit itself. After smoothing out some of those lines it’ll be perfect, but that’ll require a drastic engine overhaul.

The wedding dress outfit is cute too, all that’s left is a princess outfit (males can dress like kings with the traditional robe and crown I’d totes buy that! ) which would be amazing on asura and human females

Check the thing below.
Especially when jumping or gliding.

When I saw that on other players I simply decided to not purchase it.

It’s random.

And Sprocket is a bonus just like Jewels.

But doesn’t replace jewels as some players have suggested over the years.

I didn’t say it does replace, I only said it’s a bonus like Jewels are.

Just like from trees you can get Hidden stash and Walnut at the same time.

Since so many are so dead set against seeing any “swears”, I’ll stop using profanity when people can explain why profanity is bad.

So far nobody has ever been able to give me a good reason. It’s always “they just are!” and “iI’m offended because i was taught to be offended!”.

Think about it, and maybe you’ll realize profanity isn’t even worth discussing. Not talking about directed and targeted abuse here either, but the words themselves.

Profanity is bad because it’s against the Terms of Service you agreed to when you signed up to play in ANET’s playground. What you do in your own time is your business, and I honestly couldn’t care less if you communicate solely via a complex organization exclusively comprised of profanity. What you do in GW2 is ANET’s business.

I don’t understand this idea that words don’t have power. The words we use absolutely have power. In many ways, language shapes how we perceive the world. “The kitten mightier than the sword” is meaningful for a reason. If you even did a cursory study of linguistics, or even basic communication classes, you’d know that words have power.

I’m not saying that there aren’t instances where people are over-sensitive. I’m just saying that it’s wrong to perpetuate this idea that you can say whatever the kitten you want and it doesn’t effect people. It does. Own up to that.

Explain to me kind sir, for what has been Profanity Filter function implemented then.

Because if we did agree to not use profanity in game and so on, then such function is useless since day one.

Therefore any ToS break should be accordingly punished.

Since it’s ignored – because level isn’t ridiculous yet – it means that Profanity Filter has it’s purpose and can be used accordingly by people who would feel offended by reading such language.

Well, for me it’s yolo.

I’m rather surprised there are such “Saint” people who feel offended by a swear, even not directed at them particularly.

I am so sick and tired of hearing this kind of thing from unskilled players.. Trust me in high level play DD is by far the worst elite spec besides berserker. They need the dodges just like every other class needs their active defenses.. Argue all you want, all classes have special active defenses.. Unlike other classes thief dies in one hit without its dodge. So your complaints are silly. Mesmers with their invilns and stealths or guardians and their crazy dmg / tankyness/ infinite blocks. Warriors Rangers and eles all have a self invuln, higher health pool and better defense. This video you posted too isn’t proving anything.. I just watched a sub par thief fight a really bad Mesmer and come out on top almost dead.. How was he op? One wrong move and that Mesmer would have had him. So your telling me because a thief won a duel (God forbid) it makes them op? Wow.. Let me show you some really overpowered chronomanser gameplay that will make you cringe.. Thief’s should be able to win 1v1. They are not pets they are a class.. I am happy anet is finally seeming to care for them.

Actually permanent evasion – because you get Endurance from Staff skills + Vigor.

Even if you get a random hit, it’s insufficient.
Even if it gets dangerous they can disengage instantly.

Stealth is not needed here at all.

Perhaps they’re not as useful in PvP – tho could make them bunker wise dodge rolling on point.

But Daredevils are quite everywhere in WvW.

And the reason is simple – you hit them once per 5 attacks.

Pretty much equal to standing in smoke field and getting blind applied on you all the time.

I don’t ask to nerf Thief.

I ask to rework this class.

Life-force is way more powerful than a pesky little thing called adrenaline. What I do not understand is why would anyone complain about life force. It works fine, it is powerful. With the insane chill damage necros are on the board again. And it is pretty easy to generate life force.

You are a bloody master of the dead and undead, act like it.

LF is way more powerful than adrenaline, but I cant imagine a necro beating a warr if none of them uses thei F1. Necro F1 is one of the bests ingame, but also Necro without his F1 is one of the weaker profs

There is no best ingame or whatever you claim there to be.

Play with a guardian without using virtues, and a necro without using DS. Of course F skills are tied to traits that can make them better or not, but I’m pretty sure my point is clear

Since you’re not so bright then gotta explain I guess.

Necro is Shroud dependent, just like Warrior is Burst dependent or just like Engineer is Tool Belt dependent or even just like Mesmer is Shatter/Clone dependent etc etc etc.

Classes are built around their special skills and those skills are built around their classes.

And therefore, there is no “Shroud is Best”, “Shatter is Best”, “Tool Belt is better than Virtues” or whatever you claim anything to be.

Those are class mechanics adjusted to class design and properly utilized can bring any class to top.

All classes have their mechanics balanced to one another and stand at the same place.

Balance problem lies within certain values not class mechanics.

Deal with it.

Whats really annoying with soloQ teams sometimes is when no one goes to cap home and I w/ zero LF have to do it….only to be greeted with 2 incoming opponents. FML.

Perhaps there is a reason why accessibility isn’t that good and duration is low.

Reaper accessibility to chill:
- sigil of ice (on hit) (2s duration)
- sigil of hydromancy (2s duration)
- chill of death trait (5s duration)
- spinal shivers (5s duration)
- chilling Nova (2s duration)
- shivers of dread (3s duration)
- executioners scythe (1.5s duration)
- Infusing terror (3s duration)
- chilled to the bone (8s duration)
- chilblains (4s duration)
- reapers mark (3s duration)
- rune of grenth, 3s chill when hit
- rune of grenth, 3s chill during heal

Rune of grenth and cold shoulder combined are +50% chill duration, so there seems to be overwhelming evidence that contradicts your claim….

You can’t have all of them at once, and some of them are Fear dependent which doesn’t trigger vs target with stability.

Doesn’t change the fact that you’ll be stomped before that Chill will bring someone to downed state.

Sure maybe not a lot of damage for a damaging condi, but the thing is chill also slows you and increases cool-downs…

Yes it does. But you will feel it when this thing will be constantly spammed on you.
if you’ll dodge couple of them, or cleanse fast enough, then your cd increase will be by around ~2sec.

And here is a question – do you really expect anyone to just stand and eat every single chill skill you throw?
And even when they eat it, do you expect them to not cleanse it?

btw – Executioner’s Scythe chill requires target to stand in Chill field to have constantly applied Chill – without it, it disappears in like 0.5 sec.

Because if 653 damage per tick is a lot for you then I suggest stop pvping.

This thing would take like 10 mins to kill an afk Warrior with Healing Signet.

Chill affect skill recharge to so having DoT plus antiskill effect is a big thing. 2 in 1.

Plus it doesn’t stack, and only source to increase damage is to only gain Might and keep Vulnerability stacks on target.

Already did note it in previous thread.

Max Might + max Vulnerability makes it tick for ~950 per second.

In order to keep up with low duration and condition cleanses, you need to give up on survivability.

Keeping a max Might without being in Reaper Shroud pretty often + striking a Chilled target is impossible.

To keep up with high Vulnerability stack on Target, you need Greatsword which is also a source of 2 chills – so GS is a must.

What’s left in 2nd hand?

Staff or Scepter/Focus.

If you choose Staff – you have pretty much assured AoE Chill.

From Utility you need Suffer, Plague Signet and Signet of Locust(unless you’ll go for Spectral Wall for Chill effect on Fear).

But here’s a question.

Will you be able to kill in 1v1 or 2v1 a decent player?

Especially given that your only damaging condition is Chill?

I’ll tell you what.

Cryomancer looks cool, and can be useful.

I see potential in big group clashes as in WvW.

Perhaps in Group clash on a single point where you’re not focused.

But Necro not focused? – not happening.

That Necro build has 0 defenses and due to low mobility, anything that can put a bit of pressure will down it in no time.

Maybe the devs are hiding from the WvW forums due to the intense backlash, verbally abusive, extreme saltiness and nasty, unhelpful, non-constructive feedback players seem to be giving them.

As if the dev team doesnt deserve any of those… respect is earned not given, look at many of the elite specialization like Robert Gee that received many thanks for the gamers, same cant be said of the WvW team (if there’s even one in existence). When a dev understands the needs and wants of the community and reflect in their work, that’s when respect and love are given, unfortunately I dont think that will ever happen here.

I’ve heard that they answer questions on Twitter, Facebook and reddit.

Perhaps WvW players should abandon official forum and move to social media.

Although I do enjoy the expansion to an extent, I have to say Guild Wars 2 seems to be going on a downward slope ever since its release. I admire and hate Arenanet’s “evolutionary” mechanic when it comes to MMORPGs, but the game has significantly declined in quality since I first got it near its release. Certainly the game has introduced some interesting mechanics since its inception, but in my opinion, Guild Wars 2 is definitely not a 9/10 MMO anymore.

The Living Story is behind a gem paywall. Dungeons and fractals have completely been stripped of their rewards to ensure players will not feel rewarded in items or gold when they complete them; they also leave players with no real way to earn money to buy armor or weapons. Items that could have been released via gemstore or as a new mechanic in-game are very RNG based and near-unobtainable unless gold or converted gems are used to purchase them. The game’s expansion seems to focus more on a grinding philosophy to progress through the story, urging players to earn a full mastery level before they can progress. Arenanet no longer listens to player requests for gemstore items that they want back in for holiday or special events. It’s interesting that a multitude of players request a specific item or skin which is a prospective way of earning money for Arenanet, and yet they choose to ignore the requests and wonder why players aren’t buying things from the gemstore. The Guild Wars 2 Third Anniversary Sales were a huge disappointment, as well as the tedious Mordrem Invasion event the following weekend which was a huge embarrassment in the history of Guild Wars 2. There were several pointless changes to audio, idle poses, hearts, and a multitude of other things within the game that never made any sense to be messed with. There have been more outfits released than armor skins which hinder players’ desire to customize their own character. Several PVE-based armor skins have been removed for little to no reason. Arenanet chooses to remove instead of add, which to me sounds like a puzzling choice.

In my opinion, the game has taken a turn for the worse, and definitely is no longer a 9/10 grade MMORPG anymore. There are plenty of disappointments Arenanet has delivered over the past year, but it’s still not enough to take me out of the game yet. I still remain somewhat hopeful for what Arenanet chooses to introduce in the future.

If you’ll look what’s standing behind Anet, then you’ll realize that Quality went down the toilet quite a while ago.

Can We Delete Reaper?

When I look at damage I look at what is happening for each class individually. What is happening with Ele’s or Guardians (past or present) is irrelevant while I’m discussing the effects of Chilled in a vacuum of Reaper. Saying X is okay because Y does X*1.5 damage isn’t my thing, they could both be super overpowered. In the case of Chilled versus the previous metas Burning you are taking one feature and comparing it to another overpowered feature, one does all damage and the other does damage + cooldown increase + movement impairment.

I’m anti-powercreep. Not anti-Reaper, especially since I only use Reaper. Maybe if you actually cared about posts other than Reaper you would see that I’ve said that other classes need nerfing too for the sake of preventing powercreep.

You broke your bubble with this post:

Multiple Reapers. It wasn’t just one. A couple Chillblains, Marks of Blood, Reaper Marks, maybe even Terrify. There you have the Bleeding, Poison, Chilling with almost no direct damage and constant Chill/Bleeding even through Condi cleanse.

Chill has the shortest duration as condition in game.

Movement impairing effect doesn’t affect skills such as

  • teleports
  • blinks
  • shadowsteps
  • leaps
  • movement based skills(Rush, Whirlwind)

You’re complaining about being perma chilled by group of reapers.

Then perhaps you should create a complain thread about group of PU Condi Mesmers who perma stack Torment and Confusion?

How about group of P/D thieves stacking perma bleed, Immobilize, cripple and torment?

Just made a check up with 25 might you inflict ~831 damage per tick from Chill.

With max Vulnerability can go up to ~930 damage per tick from Chill.

25 might and 25 vulnerability for like 1k tick per second…

Considering cooldowns and how certain abilities are so long in casting – like Executioner’s Scythe or Chilled to the Bone.

Cryomancer is pretty much successful when you lock someone down and make no mistakes – which is by most cases only when your enemy is taken by surprise.

Focus abilities may work in WvW or from behind, but in 1v1 forget about landing this on decent player.

Making long story short:

Condition wise, engineer, guardian or even Warrior is tenfold more efficient and threatening than this little joke.

Attrition doesn’t happen in a 20 second fight. That’s a huge part of the problem, in both long and short fights Chilled is the largest damage dealer. Some may argue that attrition does happen because it is constantly there, but look at the Bleeding, that was constantly there as well.

All the “only 560 damage per tick” means is that they weren’t built around high Condi damage or that they didn’t have high stacks of Might or Vuln on me. Wasn’t “High stacks of Might and Vuln” one of your arguments before (you or Tim)? Here’s an example where your argument doesn’t even come up and you somehow think that makes my argument weaker? What about the “access to Chill durarion negation,” I have Relentless Pursuit and Hoelbrak. Condi clear? Proven that I can clear other Condi’s just fine by how low my Poison and Bleed is.

Why don’t you take a look at the uptime of Terror versus Chill to think about how much a non-stacking Condi should do. Obviously it should do more damage over the duration of a fight than Terror, but should it dominate the damage in 20 second fight?

And Tim, “strongest damage dealer” is not subjective. It’s an absolute claim, which is not something I do very often.

Tao, no and no. It isn’t an obviously problem thanks to DH’s and Scrappers, but it is a problem.

20 seconds fight?
Takes a torch condi guardian to down you in less than 10 sec.
Takes TrapTorch Condi ranger to down you in less than 10 sec.
Takes BurnEngineer to down you in less than 10 sec.
For like half a year took Celeddele to down you in around 10 sec.

Burn hasn’t changed.

How come Chill is now the strongest damage dealer when it takes around 20 sec if not more to down someone?

Especially when you eagerly talk about might and vulnerability stacking while those Burn cases weren’t Might stacking dependent – except ele maybe?

Chill level is the same as Torment or Confusion.

Just visit 1×1 servers.
If you are gonna die – you would give up a cap anyway. Now with gyro you can go invis, ltl kite and burst heal(bh -thing which other stealth classes usually can’t do) and come back. Very low CD and good hp for gyro

Let’s list something important:
- Stealth Gyro is permanently Revealed
- Stealth Gyro is within ~5m max distance from Scrapper using it

Now tell me how hard it is to tell where Scrapper is and how hard it is to burst him down when he’s stealthed by Gyro.

Chill up time renders any movement impairing duration reduction talents moot while increasing CD rate, reducing movement sped and causing a DOT.
i suppose i can see you’re point its not reaper… its chill that should be reviewed/balanced.

Exactly, reaper got stab.

And useful shroud for power spec.

Despite how Life Blast was good due to homing system, in close quarters it was nothing more than safety for Healing and other skill recharge.

Reaper is a very good spec – gap closer, stab and close combat damage.

No longer there is a need to kite certain classes, like Hammer or Skullcrack warriors, or knockback/knockdown engis.

And it’s funny, because it seems that most “pvp” people expect to be always at least one step ahead of someone else in build spec matter of course.

State of Ascended Gear / Drop is Unacceptable

I got Knight stat Ascended armor chest from Greater Jungle Wurm 2 days ago.
Today I got Tequatl’s Hoard.

Yesterday I got Zojja’s Weapon Chest from PvP rewards.

I would say that overflow of ascended chests is too high.

Sorry but saying this is like comparing the life or a wealthy man and someone who’s starving, this is only you and nothing else…

Also, making ascended crafting more expensive makes no sense, it was already very costly, now it became just like crafting a legendary weapon especially for light armors, I should have crafted every ascended class way back when it was below 500g for everything…

Hidden point is simple.

I doubt drop rate has changed.

I do PvP reward tracks on 2 accounts and ascended chest/ring drop rate is pretty stable.

Tequatl Hoard for me is like ~1 a month at least.

Regarding making it more expensive – it’s not bad actually.

Finally, Thick Leather Sections are sellable in Trade Broker.

And what I get a feeling for as about Anet’s approach regarding Gold cut direct supply – they pushed players to use Trade Broker more often.

I think it’s a good thing. Supply of certain materials is high, and demands are stable as well.

Right now, doing any event and dropping anything extractable means profit due to sell in Broker.

Dungeon farmers can also use their tokens to purchase exotic stuff from Vendor and either extract and sell mats along with insignia or flush it in Mystic Forge with hope for Precursor.

on a serious note i saw some seriously good daredevils in pvp and i mean seriously good ones. nuking your healtbar while you barely can hit them and when you finaly almost take one down the will just run away like half the map and come back in seconds and continue to nuke you down….

That’s the problem. You see a Thief destroying someone and you just assume he’s seriously good. Meanwhile other professions nuke down everyone just by pressing 2 or 3 keys and you don’t think even for a second that they’re any good.

This shows how good of a spot Thief is in.

Because nuke skill on 2~3 keys will work against someone with 1 HP 1 Armor and countless evades.

Sorry to break the bubble – thief alone sure has been crippled, but that’s because Anet prefer to nerf everything except stealth and mobility – which in all honesty is stupid.

Daredevil on the other hand is an example of how to make a class win against anything no matter how much HP and armor it has, because your opponent won’t land a kittenz on you anyway.

And here is the outcome – 30% of SoloQ players moved to Unranked/Custom arenas within next week after that change from last year.

Within time population kept decreasing and decreasing.

135% Population increase like on poster – great f2p launch.

Sorry to say that, but PvP needs only a Coffin nail to be fully rekt.

And by experience with Anet – introduction of new Ranked arena will be exactly that Coffin nail.
