It’s pretty good combination in pvp though, when using chill/vuln stack build. You can go full cavalier/valkyrie gear and still damage comparable to berserker. The vulnerability stacks are easily obtained.

This is what I did to a glass chronomancer yesterday. I think you could reach 16-17k if you actually minmaxed it without help of teammates.

Chronomancers own Reapers. The stuns are more than enough to beat reapers but they also blind.

Reaper can 1v4 pretty kitten good in close encounters..
I think it’s mostly perma 25 might mixed with 25 vuln ontop of damage amplifiers though, or atleast where my damage spikes come from anyway.
GS 2 skill crits for 12-18k and reaper 4+5 skills hit another 12k+ each ontop of wells and the freeze bomb.

Actually, Chess has 20 possible opening moves, which is more than GW2 has, and I’m not counting surrendering or asking for a draw. Chess modeling also has to take into consideratin the zone of control that a piece will have when moved, which will affect the opponents options or even set up a move later on.
As for when to do an action, NOT ACTING is an action and can be accounted for, so can moving to optimum range (kiting/closing).
Movement to a point and distance between points are also things that can be put in the decision matrix of the program.
You don’t have to model realisitcally, just by crunching the possible combinations you can judge the level of player skill needed to achieve a certain level of a build’s TTK.
What do you consider an opening move? Elementalist has 20 skills from just their weapon that they can open with and that is just 1 class….
To take it further, you could wait 1 frame, 2 frames… etc before and between excecuting skills, making them different actions. Add in ability to move in any direction at any point (relevant when judging skill ranges) and you already have thousands of options per skill per second of game time passed.

Meanwhile guardians GM traits and builds let you take 100k+ burn damage in the death log….
Even if it is ok for PvP, it is not good enough for PvE, where balance is just as important now that they’ve gone the raiding route.
That’s 11k from a single trait on top of everything else. You can’t really compare that to a whole burn build.

What is the other profession that is so heavily based on autoattacking? I pay 10g to the first person that gives me a viable necro build that isn’t based on dealing most of the damage with auto-attacks.
Condition minionmancer. Most of my outgoing damage comes transfers, death novas and various bleeding burst combos. Definetly viable for soloQ at least. And you can’t really expect necromancer to be viable anywhere else anyway, autoattacking or no autoattacking.

I think you need a reminder of how necros do in top tier spvp and re-evaluate whether those builds are to be considered ‘strong’. Unless you mean are they capable of killing the average casual pug then sure there are countless gimmick builds in the game that can be considered strong.

Shelter will not be getting a skill category. It would probably need to be adjusted in someway if we did do it – and it’s fine where it is right now.

Common scenario regarding Consume Conditions: You win a fight with decent amount of conditions on you, you want to clear them up to get out of combat and your only other removes are actually transfers or require opponents otherwise so you can’t use them. You use Consume Conditions to get out of combat… oh wait you won’t anymore.
In short, necro mobility got nerfed, as if there was barely anything to nerf in first place but still.
