It would be cool to have another phase to the dragon where he takes off and flies around dropping crystal bombs or just crystals that spawn numerous mobs if not destroyed in time and then the players have to use siege weapons to shoot at its wings every time it passes to bring him back down. Have the dragon actually swoop in and out, hiding in the clouds as he swoops back out. Maybe allow 4 seconds of him being exposed every time he makes a pass before he takes off into the clouds again.
It has been a large issue, although I’ve heard changing your FoV from 50 to 70 helps.
I set it up to 75 using the CustomFov addon and it did allow me to play a bit longer before my eyes were fighting back trying to focus lol. Idk, I’ll try to bump it up to 85-90 tonight see how it goes.
It boils down to what it has ALWAYS boiled down to: Which game you like more. I’ve been playing Wildstar this entire month and will be unsubbing for the time being to play LS season 2. Mostly because the cartoony visuals are hurting my eyes. :/ I even took the time to get my eyes checked last weekend and turns out their perfectly healthy. Borderlands 2 hurt my eyes as well but less so. Maybe because of the thick black lines that helped better distinguish the foreground from the background.
Hope we get capes too… crosses fingers
Just the shot of the Zephyrite ships sailing through the sky was amazing, then kablamo! Really had a wtf moment lol. Looks interesting so far but haven’t seen enough to get hyped. Great teaser!
Best: Graphics, in-game community, PvE leveling
Worst: Living Story Season 1, Obsolete dungeons, no mounts, no dueling, “open” world made up of small fenced off zones and funnels you to portals into next zone (makes world feel smaller to me).
So, i have been stocking up on mats needed to craft Frostfang for a while now. I thought to myself “i will slowly gather these and when i finally get enough gold to get the other parts needed, i will have most of the mats already, that will be fun!”.
Then when i was playing yesterday, i turned into a Snow Leopard with a tonic, then kept fooling around with 2 other people in a town for half an hour, smiling and laughing all along, having way more fun than actually thinking about having a really really expensive weapon.
That was the moment when i realized why it’s so pointless to “grind” for Legendaries. The game does not get more fun just because i have one. I imagine it to be like the main story of Skyrim… once i completed it, i lost 60% of my motivation to do anything else in the world, since it did not feel threatened anymore and i haven’t even got proper “cheering” for it, just a oneliner of a thanks, exactly like for saving a random farmer’s chicken.
That’s how i imagine Legendaries. I would get it finally, after months, hell maybe a year, then there it is. It sits in my inventory or in my characters hands, i run around with the effects for 5 minutes, then realize that nothing has changed and nobody cares… and they are right, why should they?
What do you guys most enjoy in the game? Do you actually want a Legendary and if so, why?
Looks like you’ve finally seen how pointless 99.9% of games are when you only focus on the shinies! You make your own fun, Devs just provide the playground.
Keeping GW2 installed but can’t bring myself to start the game until I see a fix for the particle effects porn in the patch notes. Give us a slider ANet.
It was a missed opportunity for more story. They could have patched in a convo with the gang about who would be their guild leader, then have you talk to everyone individually and have THEM give you reasons why YOU should be the leader. Brox and Broham could bring up ice and frost patch along with recent events, and the rest can bring up other patch events and so forth and how you handled it well. Then once you accept the role you actually join a Guild on your Guild Tab called “Destiny’s Edge 2”. That’s off the top of my head.
Sure there could be issues with some not even being here when those patches came about, but its no worse than being elected a guild leader randomly. :P
I wont presume to know if this will just be a content recycle but it can very well be and that’s kind of discouraging. While the mini-games were fun… I’m just hoping we get more story this time around. It feels like so long since we have had a significant event that wasn’t just check lists. LS season 1 had its plot issues but at least it was entertaining for a lot of us to see the story of Tyria moving forward.
I’m hoping that Mordremoth is NOT part of the living story and actually part of an expansion to the personal story. It would be a waste to have one of the main dragons as temporary content, this is my biggest fear moving forward.
That aside, I have super high standards/expectations for this next LS. It seems as if ANet were learning from their mistakes since it started. We all remember the Signs and Posts adventure… They’ve improved in event design and even cinematics since then.
This should go in the “Feedback/Questions: Megaserver” thread. Might get more attention there.
No. For the simple reason that races are, in a way, bound to certain choices and developments in the main story. Even if you are completely ignoring the personal story or didn’t like it, its not like they can just gut it for select players who don’t care about it.
Anything and everything is a cliche depending on how far down you want to drill for it. Everything from how a story ends or climaxes, to even character motivations or backgrounds (i.e. troubled past, wants to see the world burn, character is actually thinking they’re doing GOOD). I don’t care if a story has cliches what sets them all apart is, as bullyrook pointed out, the presentation. GW2 is lacking in this area a lot of times.
Next Gen Edition? Don’t think that’s coming out any time soon but I’d love to play on my Ps4. So yes, love it.
Sadly, I unintalled GW2 this weekend. Im spent on it. Things like the wardrobe I posted in the suggestions forum a month after release. Here we are 1.5 years later, and its finally coming. No Scav hunt. Still a focus on LS and zerg content. No love for dungeons(what happened to revamping the bosses in dungeons…just did AC and forgot about it? Oh, right, the living story).
No, Im done. After playing Wildstar the past two weekends and with the awsome updates to Diablo 3/expansion, I have more than enough to fill my time than waiting around 6 months, 9 months, year, 1.5 years for arenanet to breathe life into this game.
Big hype, huge letdown. This game could have been so much more if it focused on exploration, real world changes when run of the mill dynamic events succeed or fail, etc.
How/why are you still here then? I know that sounds rude but I’m seriously baffled especially considering you uninstalled and reinstalling would require a LOT of time after patches and all. Congrats on the many +1’s btw. Not many “too late, I quit” posts get upvotes lol.
reads “communist style gameplay” lolwut?
I’ve seen so many great bobblehead videos, here’s another one of my favorites.
I miss the Bobbleheads already, wtb Bobblehead tonic!
Best one I’ve seen yet!! xD
I don’t understand, so do RP’ers want to be completely isolated from non RP’ers? I mean, all this does is make each map fuller with people from other home worlds who are on the same map at the time (at least that’s what I understood from the blog). Your RP pals will still be there and if they aren’t… wouldn’t the map be completely empty? Why not have it bustling with other adventurers?
I’m not looking for bunnies and sunshine, but I am sick of the “dark” cliche. Everything fictional is being “dark” these days — BORING.
Drama, yes. Tension, yes. Struggle, yes.
“Dark” — yawn.
I’m curious then, what do you define as “dark”? Drama, Tension, Struggle can easily fall into that category I would think. Personally I hate the term “dark”, I prefer calling it realsitic or something.

Have you listened to the data-mined conversation between Destiny’s Edge 2.0 that was SUPPOSED to be for the Aftermath bar scene?! Marjory died! And the dialogue was all recorded and was great! Instead we got a super cheesy ending with no real impact in my opinion. How crazy would it have been if Marjory died? I for one would actually care more about these characters if I saw that they weren’t immortal NPCs that we never have to care about or worry about.

I can read the forums without logging in. I’m guessing the OP is saying they can’t?
For some reason sometimes you need to log in, never really understood the system.
Also I’d love a “remember login” function.
I’m using Chrome and the browser remembers my login. All the information is filled in when I visit this site so all I gotta do is click “login”. Use Chrome of Firefox. But even IE should have this feature I would think.
Remove dungeon tokens as a reward for path completion. Add dungeon tokens as a possible drop from trash mobs.
Add a substantially increased chance of dropping a specific precursor as a reward for each path completion.
Doesn’t WoW have this? It’s such a great idea!
1. Gear is cheap, you can run other content for gold and buy it from the TP.
2. Say it if you are new and / or inexperienced. Being silent and getting carried is rude towards your team mates.
3. Make your own group with likeminded people.
1. That too feels very cheap to me. I avoid buying gear on the TP because I want to earn it. Maybe a skin or two with gems but thats it lol. My issue is wanting to have fun/challenging dungeons that don’t become trivial due to “tricks”.
2. Well I know the tricks now. I used to say “I know all of the fights” because when I first started I watched some videos on the fights and mechanics. However I was unaware of the tricks or need of any tricks.
3. This rarely happens for me and is tough to do nowadays. It just seems like most are happy or content with how Dungeons are easily farmed. No one wants to fight every mob or complete everything as intended. =/
So are you content with the way things are in Dungeons Dalanor?
Just noticed the other thread about this, Devs please delete this.

Well heyyyy there! ;-)
LOL!!!!
Dis iz low-brow hewmor! What baffoonery! Rubbish I say! Oh wait, it’s April 1st? This is pretty great then.
Idk. I’ve gotten used to seeing the game through a tunnel of UI elements above, below to the right and to the left. If I could actually see the environment around me and not feel like I’m wearing blinders like a horse, it wouldn’t feel like Guild Wars 2.
If GW2 is a “tunnel” of UI elements, then what is this?
Lol, a magnificent display of player choice and customization I would say. Loved WoW’s UI and its flexibility thanks to add-ons.
The camera was one of the QOL items that I thought would be included in this feature pack but its not on ANet’s priority list so we’ll probably never see an improvement. The only way I can think of is not legal and can get you banned. It messes with me too and gives me a headache. At this point I have a hard time wanting to play GW2 so a ban doesn’t seem like too bad of a risk.

I think the problem is that no matter what they add, it won’t be enough once players complete it. Whether its content, a side-gag, quest, and etc. Once they’ve seen what there is to be seen, they’ll move on. It’s just the nature of MMOs. WoW’s racial cities aren’t as populated as the “capitals” or hub cities that are the equivalents of Lion’s Arch and Vigil Keep because everyone’s moved on already. WoW just has so many subscribers that multiple people create alts all the time.
I think one of the bigger culprits of dead major cities in GW2 is the Living Story. Its always so centered around one city or area that players flock there for weeks on end. It makes it so that even if you don’t feel like doing the LS, you’re out of luck trying to do anything else that requires a group.
Split? Are you sure about that? I highly doubt its remotely even but then again there’s no real way of knowing for sure. I just find it amusing that you assume its split.
I like the convenience in it. Being a total noob now you can easily redo your traits without leaving a dungeon or being kicked. As long as the people RECOMMEND a trait change and aren’t kittens about it.
Considering those pixels could have possibly costed real-world money… yes I’d send it back.
I have done it all, when Teq came out I went and killed him with a zerg in about 5 minutes, if you call that “endgame” I can see how you don’t understand where I’m coming from.
I think you’re talking out of your kitten on this.
When Tequatl was redone it was a pretty big deal that Blackgate killed it the day of the patch. My server took a day or two to nail it, and others longer than that.
That fight is impossible to clear in 5 minutes, and if you akitten during the fight I would almost guarantee that you died…. a lot. So, I’m not going to go with the others here and say that it’s just endgame content you don’t want to do… I’m going to call you a troll that is making up circumstances and events that never actually happened to make your side appear more legitimate.
Either that, or the fact that you’ve never gotten decent loot from Tequatl is testimate enough that you don’t even try to play the game; just auto pilot. You might have even just gotten killed by the giant tidal wave after you fail to kill the boss, got the worst loot, and thought “Hey, I beat it”.
But like others have said anyway; none of this content requires your participation. You can just quit the game and play when they add something in line with your interest rather than complaining “what about MY needs”.
Content so hard it took a whole couple hours to be beaten.
Give me a break dude
So you’re not even taking your own argument seriously? What was the point of your post then, to just troll how you can “literally” finish the content in 2 seconds? I mean, that’s how LITERAL you’ve been arguing from the looks of it.
ANet: Please just give us ninja patches from now on. I don’t understand it one bit but apparently you uber-hyped this patch to astronomical levels. shrug
This is why real life analogies within games can’t be tossed about so simply… it’s not as relevant as one thinks. It’s not a rental system and they’re generous enough to let us mix and match all within the safety of a preview. If you don’t trust yourself to not hit “apply” every time you change one item… that may not be ANet’s fault =P.
Ya, might wanna finish reading before you make assumptions
Nonsense! Every, and I mean EVERY, release/patch ANet puts out MUST have a negative that is pushing “everyone” to the brink! And it MUST be posted to the forums with righteous anger! -_-
Yes.
And OP I find your lack of interest for opinions/thoughts to be disturbing.
been online for a good 45 mins not seen another person been divinities reach
lions archlooked around orr
whats happening here?
Next time you login, park your character at Divinity’s reach or Vigil Keep and just start transferring from server to server until you find a good amount of players. That’s what I’m doing to find a group for CoF. I found a server that has more people on and doing CoF runs whenever I’m on.
I’ll have to play it myself at least once, maybe during a beta, but I have found that I always come back to GW2. No other MMO holds my attention and I’ve tried many. And that’s even after considering the issues with GW2 at the moment, still a fun game for me.
Don’t think they’ve ever SOLD anything on the Gem store that’s a key component of the core game’s mechanics such as traits… no reason to start thinking that now. Don’t see how you jumped to this conclusion at all, unless you’re just really really bored today =P.
The only time I’ve seen this “punishment” in play is zerging events. This recent one ESPECIALLY. Can’t see a Boss’s big attack winding up (let alone the boss itself) so you can’t even dodge out of the way in time as a melee.
I KIND of like this, except if the character model actually visually dodges the entire attack, then it should be 100%. However, I don’t think GW2 has the mechanics to do this like Tera or RaiderZ does.
It’s in Spanish, I approve.
Wait so… Players WERE going to be technically weaker overall so ANet tweaks the monsters to make everything balanced again (or atleast the same as before) and some people still see this as making the WHOLE game easier when it’s just restoring the current balance we have in difficulty that was offset by the change? =/
More options is great. You can choose to gain skill and abilities via the old GW1 way (which was awesome getting elite skills) and have a better sense of progression or just outright pay for it. I, personally will enjoy the heck out of earning my major traits.
There should be some sort of achievement for gaining ALL of your major traits through content and not buying. Maybe even a title?
Better camera functions overall hopefully…
Drill blows up. Sorry for the major spoilers. =/ That’s literally all that happens within 15 seconds.
Try guesting to other servers to see which ones have more people on when you’re on. That’s usually the biggest culprit: time zones. Also, try joining a Guild that has a big presence on the server you decide to transfer to. Helps if they have Ventrilo or Teamspeak since most serious guilds utilize those.
