The majority who did regret pre-purchase will never admit it or post it.
Who likes to admit they got hustled in a public format?
I don’t?
It’s not the first time I’ve wasted $50-$60 on a crap game, and it won’t be the last.
Every class can solo PvE, it’s incredibly easy.
Any class that focuses on burns is completely viable as condi dmg. Any class that focuses on bleeds is not.
That’s… debatable.
It’s not debatable, it’s math.
Then don’t leave the event?
They all count, it’s just the Tyria maps are 1 pt, the Maguuma maps are 10 pts (but harder to get).
Any class that focuses on burns is completely viable as condi dmg. Any class that focuses on bleeds is not.
Is this chart still relevant?
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Agony_Resistance
I haven’t seen one yet, but is there a new chart that shows the scale of agony resistance for HoT through FotM 100?
Abandoning dungeon content is probably the most misguided decision in the history of the game.
Bring it back. The dungeons were awesome, and one of the few things in the game worth doing.
Just like pre-HoT, I’m working on my fractal backpiece and light set of ascended armor… which pretty much means getting my daily log-in rewards until I have enough laurels. But none of that is really HoT content, and if I didn’t have that, I’d probably be playing something else.
Still experiencing the same network issue.
I looked at the reaper playstyle and it is definitely nothing for me, I prefer atleast 500 range between me and the boss. I read a few guides in the past couple hours but almost all seemed focus on melee. I am still looking for a solid pure ranged build, condi would be ok since I personally liked dots, power would be great too, personally I believe a build with sinister/rampagers would suit me best. I would be interested if there are any of those around currently, and where I can find them.
I am personally not a great fan of Zerkers since it tends to get me killed and has more counterplays, but i can definitely see its value for solo content and bosses that favor bursting sustained damage.
For purely PvE, ranged is inferior to melee on practically every class… with the only exception being elementalists with staff. And honestly, even if you’re playing a staff elementalists, you should still be in mostly melee range.
Two big reasons… the most obvious is that for nearly every class, melee weapons hit harder and cleave, and most range weapons do not. And more importantly, if you’re more than 500 yards away from your teammates, you can’t get their buffs. That’s a huge loss in DPS.
GW2 thinks it’s different, but it still has the same mechanics as every other MMO. DPS wins, and not maximizing your DPS is selling both yourself and your group short.
Can you post negative?

I can’t believe I paid $50 for LESS content.
The content I enjoyed is now worthless to do (dungeons and fractals), and the content I paid for is gated behind a pointless grind.
Thanks, now take the rest of the game from this tedious grind.

You lock the content I paid $50 for behind a horrible grind and nerfed the only content I enjoyed (dungeons and fractals) pre-expansion.
I’d pay $50 more to roll back this horrible expansion.
Or you know, I can just spend $50 on a new game and not worry about this mess.
But I guess A-Net did not want us to run abandoned content, they might have to do something new for that then.
That’s kinda the problem.
I didn’t expect fractals to be abandoned content. I figured it’d be the go-forward PvE solution. But there’s really just no reason to run them.
Arenanet, this is a huge and catastrophic mistake.
You have to have some rewarding group PvE that’s not just raids. Raids, the way they’re tuned, most casual players won’t be finishing them anytime soon.
Nobody is going to do fractals anymore if there’s no monetary rewards to do them.
I was expecting the dungeon nerf, but if the fractal rewards are that bad, I don’t really see any reason to play the expansion. I don’t PvP, and not really that interested in raiding any time soon. Where’s the PvE in this game?
How is it anyone’s fault but your own that you grinded before knowing the details?

Mes is a utility bot, no point in ranking dps. DPS varies from solo to group comp too much so there’s another reason to not rank. Furthermore, DPS does not decide how useful a class is in raids.
If your focus is still DPS then you can forget playing as mesmer.
There’s no way to know that for sure. With the changes to minion damage incoming and our phantasms actually staying alive now, there’s no reason we won’t see a huge dps increase.
We will see a dps increase…but even 100% best case scenario dps for Mesmer pales in comparison to ele or engie.
Sure, if you’re going to compare us to practically pure DPS classes. But an engineer sacrifices all of their utility to be that top tier DPS.
A better comparison would be a Mesmer’s DPS vs Warrior or Guardian. Compared to other utility classes, our DPS is competitive.

If warriors have long range weapons what’s the point of rangers?
And? Every class has ranged and melee attacks.
but warriors specialize in melee, their melee attacks does alot of dmg compared to other classes’ melee. Rangers should specialize in ranged weapons (it’s in the name) so buffing warrior’s ranged weapons just makes rangers more and more useless.
I apologize if you’re new to GW2, but that just isn’t true. There are no specialized melee or ranged classes. Every class can melee, every class can range.

If you’ve not been bothered to do high end pve for 2 years (probably haven’t done Fractal 50 with zero Ascended) then why the QQ? You don’t even like this content.
This ^^
So basically, “I want a game that plays for me”.
I think you do have to enter the serial code on your account page.
That Geico commercial ruined it for me.
If you want to play solo, stick to games like Fallout or Skyrim.
This is an MMO, it’s meant to be multi-player.
Fractals are about the only thing even slightly challenging in the current PvE game.
Elementalists have the same problem, but it’s like whoever designed this elite spec has never even played a Guardian.
This hasn’t been a problem since 1995.
You’d spend more on waypoints than what it’d cost to just buy the copper from the TP
I don’t like my Necro much now, but Reaper is bad kitten
You’re coming from WoW. All your suggestions are about turning GW2 into WoW.
GW2 is not WoW.
You’ll find out in like 30 minutes
You’ll want tailoring for ascended armor and either weapon smith or artificing depending on whether or not you go staff or dagger.
What 3 Specializations your most hyped for?

Druid, but more to see if it’s going to be viable.
Is something with only 2 steps really a gear treadmill?
Consider the following:
50 steps that take 1 day each
2 steps that take 1 month eachWhich is shorter?
The length of time it takes to get ascended (or any tier of gear) isn’t really the point. The term “gear treadmill” means that you’re constantly having to get new gear because added PvE content and tiers make the old tiers obsolete. There is no apex, you’re constantly moving.
That’s not the case for GW2. Even with their vertical progression, there most definitely is an apex, and it’s obtainable.
Is something with only 2 steps really a gear treadmill?
You think that’s grind? At lvl 21? In this game where you get xp if you run around long enough?
This ^^
It’s lag and it has been going on for a while. ANet doesn’t bother fixing it because it’s not on their priority list.
Or it might be that it’s not something that they can easily fix. Shock and awe
Not everything is a 5 minute fix, especially when you’re dealing with network and latency
You do know DotA and LoL are mobas right?
Ofc. Like one of my old friends, old-school Warcraft3 player said years ago, “That new Dota thing is a pathetic parody to real skill-based games, but kids gonna like it”.
They pack arenas in professional LoL. I would say that’s competitive.
Onyxia also deep breaths more on patch days.
Horizontal progression means that all the old content doesn’t immediately become trivialized when a new tier of gear is released.
Why bring a ranger when you can bring 2 elementalists?
I forget races even have skills sometimes.
It’s actually quite refreshing to play an MMO that’s not just a giant gear treadmill, where content is constantly made obsolete because you can just out-gear it.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/cdi/CDI-Guilds-Raiding
What other MMOs are doing doesn’t really matter, GW2 players (not all, but enough for it to be worth it) wanted raiding or something similar. It also helps them market to players from other MMOs who like raiding.
I don’t really see what needs justifying here…
Ooooh, ill just point you to Wildstars “players” that insisted on hardcore raiding.
Guess where Wildstar is now. Learning on other people mistakes is wise. OTOH just repeating other peoples mistakes because….reasons….
Sure, if you want to make less people play, you can just make raids.
I didnt hear more about more zones coming, more story coming, more PvP goodies coming nope.
I just heard that living story will move to raids. Which means SERIOUS money investment for miniscule part of population.
Wildstar’s problem was the only content they had was raiding. I don’t think GW2 is anywhere close to that.
You’re not changing the trunk on the tree, you’re adding another branch.
Did you stop playing DOTA2 because the tutorial was boring?
Because it’s free and I can do 99.9999% of the game without a guild.
