I don’t wanna be a living-in-the-past cliche` here, but let me do a little name droppin:

Most of these were very unique characters doing interesting, or mysterious but SPECIFIC and very Nefarious things that justified the title villain…. And most of them had a very profound impact on what the world is 250 year later.

The five stages of grief: WvW and sPvP

Looking at Whiteside’s buying-time “Collaboration push” in the General forum…
…makes me believe they’re already on the Bargaining stage.

Especially when looking at Josh’s followup in it about what they consider to be useable feedback where it becomes clear that they only care about how opinions are worded rather than how factual they actually are. …. I know there’s hundreds of us here who get infracted every month on the slippery slope of “rude/cynical” posts that they (Anet) want to imply is just a bunch of Slander because they are out of touch with the facts. … they get all their facts from datamining which if you look at similar models in the USA with regards to public polling …. you instantly see just how useless that sort of data gathering really is. (Mathematical paradox: congress having a 10% approval rating … but a 90% incumbancy for instance).

This thread itself will likely see deletion on the grounds of “character attack” even though all we’re doing is trying to figure when we can start taking all of this seriously and actually do what they claim they want us to do…. (give nothing but positive-worded feedback). ….Before we can take it seriously, there has to be some trust. When they tell us our feedback will be ignored b/c they think any one part of it might be Slander, then the discussion is no longer about collaborating. It’s about keeping score and “It’s my way, or the highway”.

And they CAN do that…. It’s their forum. It’s their Servers. It’s their ball… But when all they have left is a bunch of yes-men… When they either turn away or outright ban their most passionate fans by constraining the discussion to a point where they never have to apologize for any of the mistakes THEY MADE… they quickly lose the brightest and most creative contributors the ever had. And the product’s overall potential takes a huge hit until it becomes so inbred that it stops attracting any new playerbase —- Just like City of Heroes before NcSoft pulled the plug on that game…

…and yes…

I made a similar post in the vein of this one on their Forums about 2 years before it shut down. (just as it was hitting its death spiral). And 4 years before that… I called Jack Emmert out on his shenanigans and misappropriation of resources right before he got pushed out of lead Dev … he replied to my post with so much denial and deflection it makes that Tagged up Dev who squatted on the GvG’ers look like miss congeniality. Granted I may be a ADHD scrub in Arena, terrible at minmaxxing in general, and even mathematically dyslexic at times. But as far as prognosticating trouble ahead goes, my track record is pretty good…

…I don’t foresee Anet going down that road in the next 5 years b/c for right now, there isn’t that level of Hubris. Mike OBrien still holds the reins on this horse (I hope!). This isn’t even a nose dive yet. It’s a snag at best…. And all they have to do is just get over it. Do things that actually rebuild respect from us long-timers who’ve been with them since April 2005. Focus on bug fixes and skill splits like they used to do in good old Gw1. … don’t write off everyone with negative comments as a LOST CAUSE. Stop building Carnival Attractions and start building Trust.

I feel like… they miiiight be listening, but then somehow Professor X very carefully avoids adding that Catalyst beaker we place adjacent to their experiment, and instead they very predictably add the same beaker of sparkle quaggan gunk instead only to have 3 MojoJoJo’s pop out of the mixture

That’s their entire development process…. they listen to everything, and then only “take” the advice they were going to DO ANYWAY. …instead of taking the suggestions that truly are innovative, risky, or atleast similar to GW1’s solutions for similar problems.

Basically any attempt to criticize anything Anet does now, or does not know about a class or a game mechanic, can be called a “disguised” personal attack.

These forums are now useless. I’d go into more details but I have to use a different site now

But having some people that didn’t try PvP yet get a hand at it and find they have fun doing it will.

News Flash. That’s not how PvP works.
You never recruit most players into PvP by throwing them to the Wolves.
Every person I met… myself included… who learned to enjoy PvP and was good at it, did so either back in the Early days when the ONLY people you could play against were your Friends over LAN… or were later introduced to it by those same people by being Tutored or lead through it in some kind of Social manner. …the kids who aren’t… well… go play call of duty I guess and just listen to them in the headphones …if you dare. That’s exactly what happens when “PvPers are raised Feral” instead of brought into it in a friendly or informed manner.

Are you disappointed by the players?

I go where the difficulty is. Lots of people in the dungeon forums went there too.
And not long after release, no one but Hrouda was listening to them until he was moved out of that department as well. So this is really a chicken and the egg of “Who gave up on who”…

And now look what they’ve done… they’ve completely RUINED ORR. Seriously, go fight some of the more broken D.E.‘s in orr with a 12+ man group. Theres’ some Rehash Champion corruptor that’s like Kohler on 9000+ supersaiyancrack. He’ll AOE-pull everyone at BEYOND longbow range and then insta-kill them while they’re getting back up. And yes he spawns on an Escort where when the NPC’s die, it FAILS. It’s almost impossible to fight him much less beat him before all the NPC’s insta-die.

Then there’s a bunch of other ridiculous crap like Subjugators and PlagueBearers on the final Balthazaar push dropping massive AOE wells all over the place like they have no Cooldown on them and they last way longer than 10 seconds.

Oh and Jester Champions spawning on other Escorts too. It’s like these changes were made out of spite which makes even less sense since barely anyone was even doing the DE’s anymore in Orr. And now there’s even fewer people willing to put up with all that crap above. I still try, b/c that’s where the difficulty still is. But I’m sure everyone else who’s seen this stuff in action lately is scratching their heads wondering why Anet suddenly HATES them so much :p

I don’t even know why Champions exist other than to screw over newbies who just want certain Skill-Points or map completion. None of them are fun to fight… that’s for sure

while spending 2 hours doing nothing but mining iron and empyreals tonight … that feel of massive grind hit me pretty hard. Hope it goes away… but when I look at the amounts need just for … say Deld & Spiritwood … I realy have to ask…. WHY? WHY so many of these lower level mats needed? That’s not gonna get people to play together. Not if they’re spending all their time chasing this junk which pretty much requires you to solo in a really super “FOREVER ALONE” fashion…

It’s really doing the opposite of what it should have done. Just feels like a kneejerk reactions to their huge mistakes on allowing inflation to get so bad in the first place

Why do people stop playing GW2?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: ilr.9675

ilr.9675

I don’t think it’s actually all of these things everyone else is bringing up…

I think it’s a lot more … Complicated … than that.
When GW2 finally released, I remember Penny Arcade (one of Anet’s best convention partners over the years) having their main comic character ask “Why isn’t GW2 FUN?”.

Well, it IS fun the first week. It’s even fun the next week you come back to it after a good long break… But it’s not sustainable fun like GW1 was. Nor is it sustainable & endlessly replayable fun like Starcraft/Diablo2 was. It’s definitely not “Actiony” fun like TF2 and DOTA seem to be ….and for most of the people it was obviously Aimed at instead: wasn’t actually TimeSink fun like WOW b/c I guess the feeling of “progression” just stopped dead in its tracks after 80. (especially with crafting & “combat” unlocks)

This doesn’t mean it failed at what it was intended to be. It just means that we don’t actually know*WHAT*they intended to begin with and until we do, we can’t really offer any simple suggestions for fixing how UnFun it is over longer stretches of playtime.

Keep in mind that GW1 even AFTER all its improvements over a 5 year span to become what it was after EOTN, still wasn’t the most inviting experience for any of the bandwagon riders who decided they wanted to get in on the H.O.M. rewards ahead of time == because they all bought the Hype that the industry was getting itself into over GW2’s upcoming release (at the time).

Some of us GW1 people were a lot less enthused about the details that WE SAW of the game and our years of experience with Anet had already tempered our expectations. We knew ahead of time that lots of parts of it still weren’t going to appeal to the widest base possible and a lot of us even dreaded the reality that most of it wasn’t going to even appeal to us “b/c it was being made for a new demographic”.

My thoughts about GW2

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: ilr.9675

ilr.9675

I still can’t quite put my finger on what’s “Fun” about other games (what most people typically call their compulsive reasons for playing them) … versus how Unfun GW2 generally is when played in longer time “spats” than a couple weeks.

I was playing Planetside2 for months at a time for example even through it’s a Horrible, Horrible game in every way. The only thing that got me off playing it, was when my Doctor told me I was getting signs of an ULCER. GW2 does a nice job relaxing us for a week or two when it comes to leveling up an Alt but the continued entertainment value just goes into a ditch fast. GW1 was a lot more sustainable without ever giving me an Ulcer once Nightfall and all the other things got added to it that got us out of the whole “LF MONK” meta.

“LF MONK” was GW1 biggest un-fun problem. And it was obvious from the Start.
GW2 biggest un-fun problems are a lot more … tricky. I see so many people whining about the whole Legendary & Ascended gear and farming and stuff. But I don’t think that’s why it’s just “not fun”. If it was really fun on a total Aesthetic-level of Mechanics:
http://penny-arcade.com/patv/episode/aesthetics-of-play
,,,,people wouldn’t even notice all the farming required…

This isn’t because there’s a problem with the Forums and Communication when it comes to Anet. The problem is communication within Anet itself. I’ve watched these CR’s struggle with it for 5 years now. It’s never gotten any better.

While discussions like that are valuable and demonstrate how the dev team and the player community can have valuable discussion, I’ve also seen many other issues that apparently are ignored. I’m sure they aren’t being really ignored, but the silence gives that impression. An example of that might be the dozens and dozens of threads in the Ranger forum about the need for multiple improvements in the Pet mechanic. Maybe there have been constructive dev interactions on the forums about ways to improve Pets, but if there are I apologize I’ve overlooked them.

The “devs” have interacted there. And I don’t mean the CC / CM people either … we’re talking about heads of the skill functionality team here … Sharp & Peters. And the entirety of their interaction all year long, has been to tell us that we’re fine overall b/c the perception is that we’ve been almost too strong in sPvP. Everything else that we have a problem with, report as bugged or bad design…. is just a non-priority for them. ….Basically… the entirety of end-game PvE, and WvW, is a non-priority…for them. This is not exaggerating & paraphrasing just to attack their character. No this is exactly what they have implied and re-asserted again and again with regards to our role in these game modes. Even our arguments that we have to “Play the UI” more than we actually “play the game” are brushed aside. They’re not interested in changing that. They’re focused on bigger things like trying to make Conquest mode “LoL-popular” eSport tier addictive etc etc.

They have written/collaborated probably, FIVE TIMES as much explanation on this issue of priority (than Whiteside has here), over in the sPvP forum with little side jabs sometimes on the ranger forum. Maybe they’re not as well received as Colin’s posts typically are, but they’ve interacted, and MADE THEIR POINT. They are not budging on this issue. It does not matter one bit what our suggestions are. It does not matter how much we try to refine our reports and work-arounds to solve this problem for them. They simply do not consider it a problem that deserves priority. It doesn’t even matter that a good number of their Ranger players are now on a trend of failing major portions of the living story content being added. That’s not their department. Even us ranger players are split on that argument of whether it’s the content-builders who screwed up or the balancing/skill team.

.

Regardless of what we could ever say on the topic, they have plausible deniability here, and they will use it to its full extent for years into the future. Not only that, they will get away with it too because they got away with it in Gw1 where Ranger and Paragon are still broken/1-dimensional classes in most game modes simply because the need to address it with a very jaded and possibly hostile community …. is such a low-priority.

Lightbringer Tybalt Leftpaw

in Personal Story

Posted by: ilr.9675

ilr.9675

It was a pretty terrible setup either way. First b/c he’s an Engineer. Engineer’s hold up doors in an Assault by being BEHIND THEM, not out in front. Then there was the fact we only had about 100ft to go behind us and we’d be on the boat … We didn’t have to worry about this crud in the Sanctum Cay in GW1 that had the exact same setup. …Infact the more ‘pro’ among us found ways to also return the Ghost for Bonus while fighting off each wave.

And speaking of Ghosts … let’s not forget the Norn Captain in Orr who’s own body (and his crew) is controlled by Zhaitan yet their ghosts are standing out there perfectly uncorrupted. Where’s Tybalt’s ghost? Ghosts in GW1 are usually more capable fighters in just about every mission than they ever were as squishy fleshbags.

But back to the immersion that Anet broke on their own plotline here and why Twilight was a better love story than this… We get on a boat and the biggest worry when we’re at that door, is being pursued. but What just happened that caused us to light the Beacons? …about 20 Risen ships popping up after we kill the first one. Welcome to Shark-Jump Island! … one engineer … in front of a door on Land in the middle of the base… doesn’t protect us in any way from 20 bone ships that had all the time in the world to start surrounding our dock. (and don’t even get me started on the “Sunless” Lt-Dragon who FLIES)

And finally: for what they could have done here to show not just real depth, but real interactivity (Jeeezz…. even the Hardy Boys had better story branching than this!) … instead of automatically FORCING martyrism on the most sad-faced loveable uncle in Tyria, they could have given a bonus option to stay with him and try to pull off a much harder Langmar/Thackeray standoff while all the NPC’s we don’t care about take off in the boat.

…but wait, it doesn’t stop there… it has real consequences. You and maybe Tybalt too (if you’re really good) both manage to get out of it alive and wash up in bloodtide only to learn that nothing you did mattered. Infact what you both see along the way drives both of you to Edge. …see it’s stuff like this that made Episode 5 Empire Strikes back the BEST one in the series while what Anet did here instead was practically a Phantom Menace…

And instead of going out like a hero, Tybalt feels like a helpless coward for not doing enough & suffers overwhelming PTSD relapse for his failures that killed his first Warband. He gradually becomes more and more a shattered husk and a cautionary tale of the real cost of war as all these other second bananas around him sacrifice themselves while the story progresses. THEN you have a real vehicle for the reoccurring theme we see in this storyline plus a much needed likable character who’s actually bearing the consequence ….instead of ONLY having Treehernia who most ppl can’t stand b/c he’s made of wood in more ways than one.

..

And yes, I bought the AppleSeller’s Cog yesterday… 50 ectos I never actually needed to part with. Not out of respect, but out of pity. Pity for what could have been…

PSA incoming…
b/c … THE MORE YOU KNOW……..

Those aren’t elitists, those are spoiled children.
Learn the difference, it could save your dungeon raid.

I have to back this up…

The real dungeon elitists…. IE: not most of you folks who focus on Living Story, but rather the Detail obsessed guys who were grouping together for completely unrewarding holes in the ground while everyone else here was out farming Champs and collecting baubles and playing Kite-people SprintKart… Are not impressed by this path and even commented before it was released that it was too easy/gimmicky.

See those are the real elitists. And while it’s against forum policy to name names here, one perusal of the Dungeon Subforum itself makes it clear who they are. …for better or worse… And on the plus side, they all (well all but one) seem to have a good sense of humor about this stuff. And….It’s that quality of stepping back for a minute, and reassessing the situation wth a healthy dose of snark that got them where they are today …. soloing every Legendary mob in the game … finishing a 3-gold path in 10 minutes that most PuGs will take 60 minutes on.

.

People who rage quit that fast and/or just insta-kick other PuGs for superficial reasons… aren’t elitists. They’re just inexperienced PuG’ers themselves trying to get better people to carry them. They give up easily b/c there’s no consequences in this game for doing so. They know they can just “party-hop” until they get lucky and get carried. ….Hell, most real elitists don’t PuG in the first place and that should have been the first clue right there. (instead they might Solo most of the dungeon themselves and then Sell the team slots, or invite friends for the last part)

There's nothing legendary about it.

Good event: Escort that Druid Tree Spirit back to its husk and clear out the Hylek camping it. …Several Herb nodes spawn around it for harvesting.
Worthless Event: Everything else near it.

Good event: Escort Pact to Temple of Balthazar as of August 6th.
BAD Event: Escort Pact to Temple of Balthazar as of August 7th.

Good event: “Ogre wars” right outside Ebonhawke.
Crappy event: Wasp Soldier & Wasp Queen just north of that.

Crappy Events in general: Spawns multiple Champions that drop nothing but yet more RNG boxes with a 1-in-25 chance of actually having anything GOOD in them. RNG Grindwars needs to Die. Every single Skin, every single Rune & Core (from tons of little slivers & shards coming from EVERY single Champion coffer that drops) & Sigil … yes even PRECURSORS and their scav-hunt that’s taking way too long to be made …. all need to be CRAFTABLE and their component regularly coming from interesting Events that can’t just be “Zerged through”, but at the same time do not unfairly punish a zerg doing them by having Escort NPC’s in it that can’t be Rezzed and then cause it to fail when they get AOE’d by Champions.

I’m not a super experienced programmer, but I guarantee with one other person helping, they could change all of that around in 2 weeks and get it working right. And then if they had a public test server (and granted participants AP points for helping), they could have the entire thing 99.5% thoroughly tested by over 100,000 players in less than a month.

That’s what a real solution would look like to bringing DE’s back to where they belong.
There’s no shortage of great suggestions to fixing them… just a shortage of willingness on Anet’s part to actually use any of the great suggestions that are literally piled up around them.

I just can’t justify 5 days of hoarding per infusion when I’ve got a growing arsonal {sic b/c filter} of ascended items rapidly outpacing that horribly meager benefit of filling those slots…. if I for instance filled 5 of them, that’s a whole month’s worth of hoarding laurels, for one third of the +Stats I get just eating a level 80 steak…

Okay maybe these tiny +Stats are permanent, but they add up to so little…. And that’s fine too, we don’t need insane levels of powercreep here. But the COST creep has already gone way beyond reason. When are we getting some other currency access to these? Why not Karma or Obbies or some other lower-demand currency here?

It’s not the flat out lie about end-game gear being easy to attain that’s chasing me off. It’s this whole Infusion system that is infact a Treadmill within a Treadmill that exists only to take the Emphasis of team coordination OFF of skilled play and right smack dab onto a Gear-Score. This is unforgivable and has the potential to ruin every other part of the game if it spreads like Chris Whitehead says it will over the coming months.

Enjoy your new customers Anet, I really hope you’re happy together. I’m sorry that all us loyal GW1 players weren’t enough for you.

Any plans to bring players back to Orr?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

We’d also like to add more value and use to blue/green items, so things like killing vets feels more rewarding when those type of items drop when doing those events in Orr as well.

They HAD value at launch.

It was that awesome 1-in-4 chance of upgrading through the Mystic Forge reroll that you guys NERFED within the first 2 weeks but never included in the patch notes.

Please…. please stop this Rewards/Grinding cycle and padding out the grind with RNG compulsive gambling. Fix the bugs first. So many temples are always getting glitched. And too much of the content in Straights of devastation is IMPOSSIBLE for solo’s and duo’s to ever complete (like Brassclaw landing) even though the chains leading up to them all give solo players a sense that they’re supposed to be to to keep going with it.

Do you have any idea how demoralizing that can be? If all this content is supposed to be groups-only…. then either make it happen LESS OFTEN and greatly increase the time between resets so it doesn’t have to be repeated and constantly guarded around the clock (which also means you can raise the rewards for it). …. OR … have all your underpopulated servers Merge into the same “district” in these zones so that there’s always a stable population capable of keeping these DE’s working like they did 8 months ago

DE’s were your #1 sales pitch for this game.
And right now they’re in a DESERTED STATE.
Therefore your entire GAME feels like it’s in a deserted state too.
Everyone’s just COF’ing instead b/c it’s a magic-money printing machine w/o the R.N.G.

Ppl mad b/c they don’t get Berzerkers 24/7 as drops. Even though speed clearing 5 Dungeons in 1 hour which = easy Shards to just craft their own stats instead…

Does Zomorro think I have years to keep getting the mats needed to try for clovers? Don’t know how many batches of ten of stuff I’ve blown and not one clover yet.

I wish I had your problem…. I smelted like 200 ectoes away into the mystic toilet trying to get Materials. I didn’t even CARE what kind I got. All I wanted was materials. Instead I ended up with like 90 clovers I’ll never use b/c I don’t ever plan to make a legendary … (atleast not until they make precursors buildable like Moa Chick was)

I also find it incredibly stupid that in the time it took me to save up that many ectos, I could now just work a minimum wage job and cash-shop the gold to buy a legendary if I wanted one. WTF happened to the exchange rate in this game? It shoulda capped at 5g. Anet doesn’t understand what a “fantasy economy” should look like and it’s really broken all immersion the game could have had.

It is known that melee does greater damage in general than range acroos all classes.

I use Greatsword for just about everything.
Yeah it does more than the bow but guess what…

Every other class does A LOT MORE DAMAGE WITH IT THAN US.
The only good thing about ours is the #3 & #4 skill and most ppl can’t even use those two right most of the time b/c they have a higher skill index when it comes to blocking CC or even just clearing gaps for the lulz.

The transmutation stones aren’t that big of a deal given they drop from dailies

FALLACY ALERT

… Transmutation CRYSTALS which would be the only thing that could be used for Ascended Gear, do not drop in-game on their own or drop so extremely rarely that they’re on par with PreCursors (or maybe even worse in some cases).

I agree with the OP, if Anet’s going to foist the Ascended Race on us then they have to also provide a more reliable way of getting T-Crystals. (preferably by forging T-Stones together which no one uses anyway once all their characters have dinged 80)

Crystals are like 50 cents each, just skip adding cheese to your whopper for a couple days.

If it’s not a big deal…
then give me all of yours please. I’ll even get a Pay pal account to hold all of the Cheese you’d be willing to give up assuming you’re not a total hypocrite on this claim…

Ranger nerfed in PvE for PvP purposes

And this is why I only run my ranger in a dungeon if it is with friends/guildies. Because I know they are going to be carrying me to some degree and I know they have the skill to do it. Although, when another guildie or friend brings a ranger with a LB and a bear I just facepalm.

Truth.
…even when I’m the one carrying a really mediocre team, there’s this constant thought of “Y’know, an another class, I wouldn’t even need to dodge half this crap to Tank the boss, and I wouldn’t need these people to help DPS it down either”.

The Pet is the worst part… having to do this constant F1F3F1 Yo-Yo just to keep it alive but still doing DPS. Good grief what were they thinking? Ohhh, look at all these awesome micro skills! … meanwhile some nub in Zerkers is doing MORE dps when he’s downed half the time spamming 1111111 11111111 111111 1111111 11111

Hate to say it… but this forum is specifically for comparing professions to eachother.
If anet didn’t want those comparisons they would have left it at exactly 8 clinically separated forums. Any clashes that develop are not because it’s some cardinal sin to measure Incomparables.. The OP should know better than anyone that incomparables are still a measurement of power just like Mana or Projectile Velocity is and there will always be calculations that can bridge the two. We wouldn’t even HAVE computers to be arguing this on if the mechanics of the real world didn’t allow us to seamlessly converge an archaic analog numbers system directly into perfect parity checking instant calculating digital power.

In layman’s terms: It’s not apples and oranges if all you’re doing with the juice is making the same exact mass produced sweeteners and it’s giving Fat Kids diabetes at the same rate corn syrup does

Do you realize how many people tried Guild Wars 1 and didn’t get into it at all because it wasn’t fun to them? Fun is very subjective.

Uhh yeah… because that’s EXACTLY what I said in that post. Or did you just see “fun” and skim past the rest of it?

What is “bearbow” and why do people hate it?

Also, why do i do such bad dps compared to other classes even though I have full exotic zerker gear and weapons?

A paradoxical type of handheld catapult that projects an ursine entity from its location and then the user goes AFK without ever finding out out that everyone else in the party actually carried them.

ilr.9675

there’s 3 things I’ve read a lot about the Ranger on Forums:
1) when played right, Rangers is very good and dangerous
2) Ranger has little room for error unlike other profession
3) Ranger are not bad, just a lot of Bad player play Rangers

Even for really good players… the bugs make you do incredibly stupid things like hurl yourself off cliffs after a Launched enemy. My teammates used to specifically do this to me and then laugh b/c they knew my attack rotations were complicated by a lower frame rate meaning I’d be locked in the attack cycle for a whole second or more.

Most of the weapons and traits are like that come to think of it. But especially the Pet. It’s really so bad that good Ranger players aren’t actually “Playing the Game”, they’re playing this Mini-game of “work-around-the-bullCrap” while everyone else gets to play the real deal. Even though I regularly got compliments on mine … it felt pretty hollow b/c I knew I wasn’t a good “player”, I was just being a good Debugger.

It's Just Sad

in Dynamic Events

I wouldn’t call it “really well designed”.
Every single Dragon Lieutenant is just a “Stand off to the side & Snipe it” event.

If they were really well designed, then Sniping them at range wouldn’t do ANY damage without several teams of players split up outside that area manning the Mortars & mega Lasers and whatever else was actually put there to add real coordination to the process. Melee’s would be defending the support on those Artillery sites and culling wouldn’t be nearly the issue it is right now b/c everyone would be more spread out.

Infact if they were REALLY trying, they’d of allowed the skilled Melees to play “Shadow of the Colossus”(google this immediately if you don’t know what it is) on these events.

…then there’s the new issues popping up… Like having Escorts that spawn champions or Plaguers/Subjugators that nuke the entire NPC team in 1 single attack and cause it to fail instantly. Do you really expect the newbie/n00b zerg train to keep doing those after the 3rd time they fail it? …of course they’re going to go easier champs instead in a safe little circuit that cuts down on their WP’ing and Repair bills. If they liked getting Ganked constantly, they’d be in WvW instead…
