I believe the OP. This is actually a very real issue.
This is actually true for most people.. since most of the people who run cm run third party software to check out your dps, gear, etc.. and will auto-kick you should you perform below their standards. Besides that most groups also require you to already have done the run and have the title. Which makes it really hard to get the titles in the first place because its such a closed group.
ANET should really disallow third party software at the least. Its not healthy for the game. Specially for the new and/or casual players.

the first thing a good group ask to you for the 100CM is to link KP and show title , and this is all in game stuff…. stop trying to blame third party soft. when is the game itself to invite to be toxic and elitist. They create bosses with dps check mechanics , soo i want to know how much dps i do during the fight , where i have to improve and stuff.
and to see things in another prospective, if arenanet had not put in the game ascended stuff , all this problems about gear would not even exist…
arenanet logic: inspect is the evil , but the toxicity they made up with raid, no easy or story mode, and stuff is ok… DAT LOGIC.
btw , usually on reddit there are some ppl that organiza some training weekly run, you should check there and try to talk with any of those guys….
There’s not a real matchmaking in unranked.
Yes, a copper that fight another copper is more balanced and be farmed by skilled players is really frustrating.
But it’s Unranked… no one cares about unranked…maybe they’re good players that want to play with friends and the only place they can do that is in unranked.
If you want to play against players of your level play ranked, there’s a better MM.
Don’t get me wrong, I want to get out of unranked badly. Unfortunately anet only made certain map achievements possible in unranked. So I guess I’m a vocal minority in this situation. Losing 12 in a row kinda burns into you bad about this game mode.
In which I’ll probably never que Unranked again afterwards.

they should remove achievement and legendary stuff from just play ranked, if you want cool stuff you have to win a lot or just put all cool stuff in AT. atm ranked is simply a farm for legendary/asceneded stuff , ppl don’t care about winning , improve or teamplay and stuff. ranked simply become a joke and this is very sad cos S5 was fine , not soo good , but fine , then they just stop to make step into the right directiom amd this is the result…

i don’t want to be rude , but testers was sleeping while they had to test firebrand? i mean it’s obvius after 4 min that mantra need to be aoe circle or something similar , that tomes are too slow and not soo rewarding , that axe don’t have a boon with symbol and that at the moment we don’t have a long range weapon (1200), and there are at least 3-4 major bugs btw…..
and another thing , they seems to want to push support , but we don’t have support/healer weapon : staff is just idiotic and clunky , mace is useless , the only good weapon for support is shield but it’s an offhand…. and the heal tome is just useless tou can’t only heal around you , you need something like lunar impact and some movement skill….
I made this stupid yolo unskilled event 8 times and still no jade core… ty for unnecessary rng only for keep ppl playing this stupid maps till expansion.

why hot collections ascended backpack don’t have the hot stats? there is no logic behind having new ascended HoT backpack but with only the vanilla stats.

PvP is dying. Can’t you guys feel it? AT’s don’t seem as fun anymore, Ranked is a joke and the majority of the community are toxic kittens. What the hell happened to this game? I remember when Ranked queues were fun and competitive, now it’s just carrying awful players and praying the enemy pugs are worse. I remember when the legend ranked sorta meant something. I remember when Match Manipulators weren’t ruining the matchmaking and making it horribly unfair for people just solo queueing. What happened to the days when the game was FUN? this game stopped to be fun in spvp some moths before hot when ppl stopped to play cos they like pvp but started to play cos pve reward, achievement , mini lama and stuff.
sometimes Zealot’s Defense don’t hit downed player, projectiles of this skill go over the downed player, i don’t know if it is a bug or what…

Is this Sigil really all that bad on this 1 class who literally asked for a Thief specific sigil? I mean, I’m still waiting for Thief to win a 1v1 fight by stealing 20stacks of might and wreck shop with it.
My power necro got farmed in a match earlier by a thief that would constantly steal my 25 might stacks with headshot interrupts. And there is nothing more broken than a thief with 25 stacks of might.
He even whispered me after the third time he killed me about how jokes the sigil is.
Granted in the case of necro it’s irrelevant since thieves will always farm necros regardless of sigils.
Sooooo, the sigil should be removed because 1. thief is a counter to necro (mind you, guards have been farming thieves for years and it didn’t stop Anet giving them even more counters to thief, e.g. reveal on spear) 2. your team didn’t bother peeling for/supporting you.
You know by that logic they should be nerfing necros hard because they make engis extremely miserable. Or revs. Or about half of other classes.
I mean, you even admit that the case irrelevant, so why bring it up?
reveal on spear… atm even rocks evade that and with all projectile hate adding reveal is soo useless….
It is clear that anet is realizing that passive play is cancerous and proc damage is too random to promote actual skillful play. The fact that a lot of pulsing stab has been removed and the fact that adrenal health AND endure pain were nerfed SHOWS that anet wants this game to go on for a long time. The sigils in this patch are so creatively designed that you have to cleverly choose which sigils to use based on your build AND your playstyle, instead of going double doom/geomancy and double air/fire or air/blood, you have to now know what you’ll most likely be doing and choose the sigil based on that. As an ele, you can’t hug another player indefinitely and heal through everything. Anet is promoting actually PLAYING the game now.

arenanet is just stupid… it isn’t soo hard, ppl don’t want to block reroll before the match start , ppl want that matchmaking made 2 teams with no class stacking, it’s simple… no one reroll double guardian , triple teef and stuff , ppl want just to play their favorite class…
after near 10 months you want to fix perma gliding updraft in xera istance or not? it’s pretty annoying after soo many months have the same stupid bug.
Secondly, it was a waste of money that could have been used to help other areas of the game.

i think 1 big problem is not low population (3 years ago population in pvp was even less then now , but mm was not perfect , but good cos ppl who played care about pvp) but motivations.. it seesm like there ppl that play ranked cos they want to compete , they like spvp and stuff , there are some ppl that play ranked only cos they can, they even don’t care about winning or lose (with some absurd build even in gold) , they play only cos there are achievement/cheap way for ascended and legendary stuff.

Rewards bring in new players, and PvP is in dire need of new players. How can that be a bad thing? New players learn, and if skilled, raise.
Many veterans complain about being matched with players under their skill level. I’m no stranger to this myself (although I’ve long painfully realized I’m an average player). I believe there are two reasons for that:
- Players overestimate their skills, because they never had a true measure of it. Coming to that realization can be quite hard, but is necessary for one to progress. For me, watching some replays of my games really helped. I would love if players posted more of their replays on the forum, so that others could learn from it, or help point areas of improvement.
- Some players may not know how to carry a game. Carrying a game does not mean playing like usual – it means overplaying, i.e. taking more risks because you know that opponents are too weak to punish you. If you play like usual, you’re not taking full advantage of the skill difference, and it shows when you lose the game in the end.
and then in mid gold you find a ranger trapper that spent all the time on forest trying to kill the beasts and trashtalk… , but it’s too much asking to have in my team and in the enemy team ppl who care about the match?
dragons maw nerf. that would make it ok for me. no way to counterplay that without invuln or huge blocks

Because imo there can’t be enough until something changes, and people need to get aware.
Since season 2 I’ve mainly pvped as necro (about 400 matches), things weren’t that bad and there was still quite some balance and not only 1 meta.
From Season 2, PvP imo has only gone downhill, and it’s not only because of class changes, it’s mainly because everyone just rerolls whatever is OP at the moment, and something needs to be done about that.
We had a time everyone rerolled elementalist, then everyone rerolled warrior because they were good again, and now (worst one yet) everyone rerolls DH. Actually since last season already.
People say DH aren’t OP but this is what happens, and it’s not without reason, I think because it’s like the only viable choice when you solo without getting instantly stomped 24/7.
I rerolled DH myself too few days ago and it’s all I’m gonna play from now on, because every other option just seems worthless when 8/10 matches have 2 DH’s on the enemy team.
And here’s something else that has going on in PvP, that I think shouldn’t be like this,
Warriors & Revenants and even DH can now do what necros used (should) to be good at, only better and they get a lot of sustain as a bonus, aka condi burst.
And don’t start about necro having 2 HP bars, that thing is gone in 3 seconds and a Resistance or Aegis boon is longer and most of the time automatically renewed, those are WAY better.
Imo those skills that renew these boons, should also get affected by boon removal, it’s kinda weird how it’s basically meant to remove buffs, but only boons are treated as buffs, not the skills where they come from.
I think that’s a good start to fix this meta of “extreme bursting while being tanky as hell”.
And then people can finally start playing classes with different builds again that don’t have all these time frames of invulnerability.
tanky as hell can be perfectly fit even on druid/temp/chrono/scrapper/bers… btw there is soo much project reflection and block atm that is pretty hard to do soo much dmg as a dh (if we supposed to talk about ppl on nearly skill ability); traps was nerfed (only noob ppl play with more than 1-2 traps atm and more traps they have less condition removing /mobility/healing they have) , heal trap have a cast time and cure less , traps don’t daze anymore it’s still an easy class to play , but the other classes even if they required a bit more practice are better in any aspect than dh….
don’t confuse class stacking problem with weak, useless and bad design dh
I think 1 possible quick solution is to remove in first place win 1 game with x and y daily then maybe raise the rank required to play ranked, Of sure is good to see new ppl play pvp , what’s is wrong is ppl that don’t like pvp and they don’t want to play it , but they do cos achievement and reward , i don’t think is a great goal have a lot of ppl in pvp where the majority don’t even like it….
Also all those games are on thief, maybe you could switch up your play a bit and then come back to thief.
also maybe in the next 4 year you can even try to not put always double guardian , double teef , double war etc etc in the same team

What’s the point of have a competitive season where ppl play a random class just for the daily achievement? can you remove daily achievement progression from ranked?

Out of 7 matches so far, 4 of them had double thief on my team but none on enemy’s. What gives, Anet? You refuse to bring thief on same level as other classes because thief is roamer but stack thieves 24/7 on same team.
i play dh , and im always in a team with 2 dh… but mon 1 match i was with 3 teef at start (then 2 of them rerolled)
you want to nerf rev dmg ok good, but what about survivability/healing capacietes of druid , temp and scrapper? the rysk to have a bunker meta with temp/druid/scrapper (and a chrono who have blocks distorsion and stuff) is pretty high and you did apparently nothing on this side…. pls avoid to repeat the error made after hot with double chrono meta…. a bunker meta is boring and unfun

They said that they possibly could make up to 6 wings per year. They never said they would do it – there are many other considerations than a simple work cycle, you know. Besides, they don’t have that armor yet (only heavy set is mostly done at the moment, according to their blog post), so…
soo imo they should release the fourth wing in november and the last six point of the collection (when the legendary armors will be ready) could be related to reach some points in the new maps (the other point of that collection are all about exploration, even the description is about exploration).

Tricky question, we are trying to find our pace. We can look at 6 wings per year maybe. A full raid is probably like 3 wings but we can do raids with just 1 wing if we have a specific story to tell.

Like title say, i think this balance for dh/g was bad , but not soo much cos of nerf and some little buff, but cos dh/g needs some rework, imo atm dh/g doesn’t have nothing unique that other classes can’t do (chrono can give distorsion , healing was cover from druid and even temp can help with healing and at the same time have more dps than a dh , might for team is covered by wars, projectile reflection is distribuited on some classes), only in wvwvw guardian is still strong for stability, leap and a good amount of self blocks but in pvp is good only vs ppl with no brain, in raid is only 1 of the dps classes good only for pugs or ppl not soo much expert (cos some support stuff) otherwise other dps are prefered…
i don’t know what can help dh/g , maybe some traits rework , maybe a changes in some weapons like mace or gs…. but i don’t think buff of nerf can fix this

I’d like to take a moment to address some of the concerns posted since last Friday regarding the possibility of solo/duo queue.
The poll we’ll be running this week will simply ask if we should trial a solo/duo queue system during season 5. Assuming the poll passes and Season 5 is solo/duo only, we’ll monitor feedback throughout the season and then run another poll at the end of S5 to ask folks if they’d like to see the change become permanent.
“But Josh, what about people that like to queue as premades, do guild missions, etc?” An overwhelming majority of players already play as solo/duo in leagues, but that doesn’t mean we’re not thinking about the groups and the guilds. That said, unranked arena will continue to accommodate roster sizes of up to 5. Guild missions will still be able to be completed in unranked arena. Assuming the post-season 5 permanence poll passes, we’ll evaluate the need for another environment where teams can compete (based on your feedback).
Hopefully that answers some of your questions!
How big a majority will the solo/duo queue need to have to get voted in? Can I asssume that it will need 75%+ to pass like the WvW polls?
And does “trial” mean that if the solo/duo queue get’s voted only this system will be played throughout the complete season 5 no matter what?

A few development updates for you guys since there are some things I can clarify here.
While Forsaken Thicket was 3 wings that encompassed a complete story line, that does not mean all raids will be 3 wings. We’ll do that where it makes sense, and sometimes it will make sense to release a stand alone raid with 1 wing if we think we have an interesting story to tell there that doesn’t need to be stretched out over multiple releases.
i hope this doesn’t mean that the last 6 objectives of the second legendary armor collection will be about another raid wing (the collection description is about collect magic aspect of tyria to improve armor), 1 year and still we don’t know anything about when we can finish this collection and in the past someone of arenanet tell us that you will release 5-6 wing in a year….
Every now and then in Ranked, I’ll encounter that one player who will go AFK in spawn, or will just run around the map doing nothing. My team will report them for Match Manipulation, but it doesn’t seem like reporting does anything, because I’ll end seeing those players in Ranked still playing (on my team, or on the other side). These players costs us not only Pips, but also ruins winning streaks when they troll us.
I figure GMs need to research each report, so maybe there’s a huge backlog. If that’s the case, more GMs need to look into these reports, because us Solo Queue players are handicapped. We have to suffer 4 v 5 matches when someone decides to play to lose. With matchmaking already in the current state, we could use all the help we can get to have balanced and fun teams.
the real question is: They care about Spvp? answer: NO , it’s since 2 years we asking for: go back to soloq and teamq, don’t start start match in 4 vs 5, something about class stacking… and what they did? nothing, only beta testing for matchmaking and still mm is bad.
With some change to spvp structure there will be for sure less afker but they simply don’t care.
I don’t think the rollback is a big problematm , ok it’s bad , but i think the real problems are new bugs every single patch (now we have the mail carrier birthday with an animation bug…). it’s normal to add bugs sometimes with big patches like season patch , but even with little patch there is always , always some bugs (like bosses of the third some weeks ago). After 4 years is sad that the game is still problematic, it’s true that in 4 years the servers went down for something like 10-12 hour but it’s even true that everytime there is a new patch there are new bugs (or sometimes old bugs come back again)
Even in diamond division there are rarely less than 4 out of 10 people playing dragon hunter trap spammer. So obviously there is something very out of whack with this trap spam dhs.
Ideas for fixing:
- Give traps 5 seconds arm time so you need to lure people into them and cannot just teleport on people and spam all traps.
- Traps should only trigger on moving targetsCurrently this terrible meta makes me forced to play druid to have my pet trigger as many traps as possible for me. To be honest you should just delete traps from the game entirely, they have no place in skillbased games, especially with such a low cooldown and almost no cast times. I am not even biased because I have over 8k hours on my guardian and I think the dragon hunter concept ruined the class.

i don’t think symbols need nerf , they are not soo strong… if we look the dps benchmark , dh is not so good like other classes (it’s not bad , but for example in raid , you won’t more than 1 dh); even in spvp the damage is not soo high compared to other aoe…
Since trapper DH appears to be deemed skillless, and everyone and their mother is throwing a muck about it, I’m predicting what will happen next nerf patch.

Test of Faith – Probably going to get another damage shave or a CD increase, or given a cast time.
Dragon’s Maw – Either a straight up damage shave or they’re going to split the damage to be overtime.(Even though it’s not used over RF for serious players.)Purification – They’re probably going to shave the heal on trigger a bit.

Piercing Light – They’ll add a ICD of 2-5s and mess with the consistency of on demand daze chains.
