Outfits are still clipping so their excuse is dead. The only reason for outfits development is it’s faster to make them so cash is easier. Great for bussiness, not so great for PR.

Once they are low on money, they start to care about customers. But not yet.
I stopped buying gems at all, I learned how to farm efficiently and I don’t care about their outfits. And this one, together with balthazar pijamas are bright examples of great armor skins converted to outfits. I’m sick of it.

The balthazar armor would look horrible piecemeal. Have you ever seen what it looks like when you turn off the head?

Thanks to anet there is no way to prove your statement simply because they butchered diversity and options with outfits. Turning off the helm is not the same as replacing it with another skin and what’s more noone would force you to change it at all however those who want to, would have this option available. Now this is impossible.

now all we need is there to be a 24 hour window before you can unblock someone you have recently blocked to prevent people from just blocking/unblocking&abusing/reblocking.

who’s we? I am against this idea simply because it is to easy to accidentaly block a frind while trying to invite him to party, so you want me to block him for next 24h because of what?

Why not just make drop from those events on the event lvl?
ex.: 15 lvl zone legendary event = 15 lvl drop?

thus high lvls won’t come and ruin fun!

i hope Anet aren’t aiming roughly on retention -_-, thus they want people to farm every day -_-

I did.

only if I can see your data on silverwastes being bad for the community. Last time I played, it was a cooperative effort.

This whole thread is about personal impression players can get. I told you in one of my posts that this is how I feel about this community – not only silverwastes, which was only an example (that information you kindly ignored). I don’t have to proof anything because I’m talking about my personal feelings and impresions. You are the one providing numbers so burden of proof is on you.

Let’s take silverwastes as an example because it’s very simple encounter – there are whole zergs of people acting like macroed bots. They don’t even care to avoid glowing orange aoe circles or use stability or reflects – the very basics of this game. They destroy fun for every other player there. This is why I think this community is bad. People don’t respect each other. They don’t want to work for common goal with other players, they expect to be rewarded just for showing up. And I’m not talking about intended leechers but about those who deny learning the game basics.

Hahaha… Well you are talking about PvE. GW2 is not PvE. GW2 is WvW, sPvP and PvE. Silverwaste in particular is a tiny part of PvE.

So basicly you are saying that because 1% of the game has dull PvE farmers, the other 99% is bad as well.

I would like to see the data proving your statement that 1% of playerbase is pve farmers.
Thank you in advance.

To conclude my previous statements, SW was just an example and I used it because the content there is so easy it should be a natural win for this game’s target audience (which is 12-year-old kids). I will only add that the same happens in pvp (two or three ppl capping 1 point) and wvw (scaled up wannabe heroes fighting a camp with inv buff on).

So, from my point of view, the general playerbase is not worth playing with. I found few people sharing my mindset and we’re doing very well together. I hope one day general playerbase will learn how this game works.

And not everyone is hyped about changing the game constantly for 3 years and still not managing to make it stable gameplaywise.

P.S. it’s 1 000 000 dolyaks, not 500k.

P.S.2 The best way to show anet support is to buy gems every month with real money. Show them you like the game!

segman.3560

For sure, this is the most unskilled community I’ve ever seen in any game.

Which isnt so bad, since its the elitist communities that are the worst.

Said it before, saying it again: GW2 is a fun, relaxed game. That’s why its awesome. Yeah we kitten and moan on the forums, but it doesnt really affect the way we play, unlike certain cough p2worsubscriptiongodawfullkittengames hurk. Anet is heads and shoulders over other developers in a time where most exploit their customers to the max, have to give them credit for that. That leads to us being happier, which leads to us being more friendly ingame.

The game can be relaxed however being casual is not an excuse for being lazy and destroying fun for other players. I’m not talking about min-maxing or elitism (this word is so overused by this fluffy community), I’m talking about common sense. Let’s take silverwastes as an example because it’s very simple encounter – there are whole zergs of people acting like macroed bots. They don’t even care to avoid glowing orange aoe circles or use stability or reflects – the very basics of this game. They destroy fun for every other player there. So yeah, when it comes to chat community looks ok. People talk, joke etc. But when it comes to game, the community is terrible. From my point of view.

This is why I feel this game is a facebook adventure. There’s a lot of talking but not much of an execution.

This game feels like facebook meeting, a lot of people doing/talking much with not much of a goal. I don’t know if it’s a good thing. I don’t like facebook. Maybe I’m too old.

What I can say, when the game forces me to play with people I don’t know (aka open world “content”) it’s the best way to disappointment about this community. Everybody patting each others back even though they failed the goal (of the event, boss, whatever).

For sure, this is the most unskilled community I’ve ever seen in any game.

If you like it, good for you.

For me, it’s not. I stopped recommending this game at all. It’s a b2p mmo with f2p management model which cripples the game to the insane level.

It was great at start, all reviewers gave very good opinions, people were hyped and waited for more.

And waited.

And waited.

And we are still waiting.

Just play sth else. Whatever is the reason you left the game, the problem is still there, because gameplaywise nothing has changed.

Good luck in better games.

I’m a paying customer. I paid for the Digital Deluxe version of the game. If Digital Deluxe/Heroic is now pinned with the Heroic Chest, it should absolutely be awarded retroactively. That’s called good customer service. Yes, I am feeling entitled; I continue to pay for this product.

You do realize that the whole point of the heroic edition is to offer an incentive to new players who need to play catch-up with the existing player-base, right?

Also, as there is no subscription, you do not “continue to pay for this product.” You continue to pay for new products which ANet offers, at your own discretion.

So the gem store purchases within the game are not part of the product? What other game am I paying for?

Gems are a product within the game. You pay for additional currency with real money and after this you choose in-game currency (gems) to buy other services. So at first you bought a game but every gem purchase is a new transaction for new product.

No it doesn’t because you do not exclude bad rolls so your chance gets a “reset” for every try.

Again, it depends how you look at it. If you’re unsuccessful 9.999 times, you have the exact same probability of getting a portal (P) on your 10.000th mordrem than a guy who’s killing his first. However, PRIOR to your 9.999 failures, you had 10.000 times more chances to get a portal than the casual guy. It just happened that you didn’t get a single successful realization.

if a chance is 1% with your logic 100 tries equals 100% chance which is not how it works and I hope you know this

Also, the new system doesn’t increase your chance, RNG is still RNG, what change is the felling of since you are doing something then the chances are higher.

Actually, it does. There’s always an RNG factor, but your chances of getting the protal increase based on how much you farm.

It’s like trying to get 6 with a six-sided die. The chances increase the more dice you roll.

The forum that hyperbolizes together stays together.

It’s actually true. There are at least hundred hyenas on the map. Do you disagree?

And you only have two dodges for the entire time you’re in the map?

Of course not, but you can’t expect me to dodge successfully each time. And naturally I will get annoyed if I wont’ manage to pull it off.

So you should train to better time your dodges and or mitigate their attacks other way or avoid their aggro at all. As stated before the problem is on your side. Train more or do it the “hard” way by killing hyenas. Also, condi cleanse.

It’s a win/win for me. Too bad you’re disappointed. Maybe run at shiverpeaks, I don’t remember meeting any hyenas there.

It’s a level 80 map. Everyone at this point knows how to dodge. Of course you can master timing these particular mobs but what’s the point if they’re just for ‘training’, right?
I like this map. I hate these mobs. See my problem?

Yes. And as I stated before, go play on the map where you won’t meet hyenas. Problem solved.

It’s a level 80 map. Everyone at this point knows how to dodge.

Crippled players should have 400% of the normal aggro radius for all nearby hyenas, as should those low on health.

You’re evil.

Yes, the cripple sucks. But it is part of their build/skill set.
It is a matter of learning how do deal with the existing situation, adapting and moving forward.
The hyenas should not have a skill taken away just because it is annoying to players.
The player needs to adapt to/around them.

I know how to deal with it. I can’t always deal with it. Maybe I shouldn’t, but I feel like this particular skill isn’t needed on this map. It’s a big map, it doesn’t have too many waypoints, meaning you have to travel on foot. I wouldn’t imagine anything more cruel than including things that slow you down if you make a mistake of dodging too early or too late.
Apparently it’s just me having problem with it. It just feels like a zubat cave in Pokemon all over again to me.

I have fun kiting them into mordrem. The mordrem get crippled, the mobs fight each other, and I slay from a distance with an evil cackle or two.

That’s actually amazing.

Lol wut? I just dodge their crippling attack and run away.

Yes, you can dodge them. Are you telling me that it was designed to teach players how to dodge? Because I’m pretty good at dodging, and I still get hit now and then.
It’s kind of genius, actually. If you won’t dodge, you will get annoyed to death.

Seriously though, is crippling necessary?

It’s a skill of mob. A design choice. This is made to make you slower, harder to run from. Since you know you can dodge it, I don’t see a point of your thread.

Then it’s a bad skill of mob. A bad design choice. They aren’t exactly deadly, so there’s no point running. I know I can dodge it. I can’t always time it well enough. The point of my thread is to get rid off these abominations, or at least this effect.

So it’s a great way to train your gaming skills and anet made a great design choice. They’re not deadly so you won’t loose your progress and in the same time you are learning how to dodge. And who is to say you won’t get something nice in the future that a bunch of other people do not?

My point is, I’m not liking it because of the Portal i got, I’m liking it because i can take my chances affecting the RNG, EG: Do nothing = no chance, Do Something = A chance, Do something more = Even more chance.

Rather than waiting for a RNG system to pick for me.

The chance for someone farming whole week and other one farming an hour is virtually the same if we assume that accounts weren’t flagged before whole event started. What makes me not to believe in fair chance is the situation I’ve posted, when I met people dropping multiple portals in short period of time.

And as I stated before I think this beta hunt should be spread for whole game, not just two farming maps. At this point I get the feeling arena net was testing something.

Those who dropped the portal say it’s fair system. Those who didn’t, say it’s unfair. Gee, I wonder why.

I am deeply disappointed that I didnt drop the portal and that my previous beta access is revoked. However I don’t think that beta farm is bad in the very core of the idea. However I think that arena net is not fair in the way how they executed their idea. This should have been made as random possible drop from any type of content e.g. from dungeons, pvp rewards, wvw mobs/players, fractals, open world, etc. This way people could have been rewarded for playing their favourite part of the game. But unfortunately someone get a thought that mindless SW farm for a week is a great thing to advertise HoT. Well… I don’t think so.

What’s more… when I see people dropping 3 portals in 30 minutes while others are grinding their kitten off whole week and get nada, the whole reward distribution table feels a bit smelly to me.

Experimenting with other builds can be especially effective in PvP. I’m not even close to being mediocre in pvp, however when people expect everyone to play meta builds your opponents can get wrecked when you surprise them with some other alteration of your profession. At least in basement tier of pvp where I’m playing.

Meta in dungeons is a result of 3 years of mastering existing content. People learned how encounters work so they want to maximize their efficiency. However it’s a lie telling that dungeons are easy. As I always say, put a fresh lvl 80 newb into a dungeon and tell him to faceroll the content. Suddenly it’s not that easy. Take this into consideration when criticising dungeon veterans.

I have no opinions about WvW since for me it’s a zerg vs zerg pew pew lagfest. It’s biased opinion and I’m not going to defend it.

Oh really? Because heroes were introduced with Nightfall campaign which was the top of GW1 popularity. Why are you spreading misinformation?

Why do you want to play an MMO but play on your own?
If you want to play with a party of characters you set up yourself, go play a Bioware game.

Why do you care how I play any game? Heroes were always a choice. Those who want to play with people can play with people and those who in some cases prefer using heroes those could play with heroes. In GW1.

Expanding options is always better than stale set of rules.

I would welcome heroes in GW2 but I don’t really believe we will see them.
