Don’t blame anyone for flipping tables at this rate my friend, Anet has been constantly messing up WvW and people do get fed up at one point, but it’s still Beta and it’s always a plus people share their feedback and flipped tables so Anet can take notes.

This post came up like 5 minutes after the patch. I don’t really think anyone had time to test the hammers to some meaningful lenght to justify all this table flipping.

Tbh, people that sit on siege all day don’t really care about loot since they don’t really get loot unless people are kittened enough to sit under AC fire.
Also you would be denying loot to outnumbered players trying to defend a structure from a far large group (somenthing you’ll normally can only achieve by the use of siege).
And what if a pug drops an AC that get built in the middle of a zerg fight? That will deny an entire zerg loot just because some random troll dropped an AC?

Camps should remain easy for solo players. People complain that all anyone does is zerg and yet you want to make it so you have to have a group to accomplish anything.
Pay attention to the map, it’s usually pretty easy to figure out where a roamer is going to hit, especially with all the passive radar crap all over the place.

And let’s be honest, most roamers actually want you to know where they are going because they want you to come fight them. I personally don’t skip sentries and I follow a clear pattern even when there is a RI camp in the way (Except in DBL, I take weird routes there but still follow the pattern with camps).

Honestly, they weren’t… In the first week of the links we had 2-3maps queued on reset and we would had EBG queued constantly during pirmetime. But as the match goes on, people leave out of boredon. Fighting CD omniblobs at every corner gets old quick. Hell I bet even CD is bored at this point since there is barely anyone to fight anymore. Sometimes I just log in wvw for a few minutes to do my dailies and if there isn’t enough guildies to form a good party, I don’t even bother in keep playing it. I’ve made a lot of PvE progress thanks to that.

I mean, we already have the structure of three borderland maps and one free for all map. If we are to expect another map, it is likely to come to replace one of the two remeaining alpines so I expect it is meant to be a borderland map, just like the desert is.

While I would rather just dump the “home borderland” concept and take several different EBG-style maps instead, I know it’s asking for a big change that won’t come.

In order to shut up all PvE haters out there: Remove the Gift of Battle as req for legendaries (500 Badges of Honor, thus making people who PvE for it come into WvW).

Now for actual stuff:

1 – Make defending a point less boring and more rewarding… Why would i sit in tower for hours to protect it if i will gain nothing, and the steamrolling zerg will get all the fun/profit?

2 – Make the Neutral NPC camps a real use, or remove them… We don’t need more useless stuff. That also include the Skritt and Centaur camps in the Borderlands.

3 – Make a Daily/Monthly WvW achievment (you did one for sPvP, can’t be that hard) in order to reward people who are being active in the battlefield…

4 – Since people from Europe can play on American servers, and people from America can play on Europe Servers, unite both brackets… I don’t have an issue with the people from other continents, but it seen senseless to me that if all servers are on equal situation to be separated as they are. (Not really an issue though…)

Look at T3 now. The 4-servers are getting beat handily. Getting beat by both other linkings which only have 2 servers in them. Its not the number of servers, its the population and coverage!

Look Buddy, why dont you add your positive comments about this feature then. If a player finds this to be a negative change, why shouldnt they post about it, how else would the devs know there are problems with it. Ever read reviews for a product you wanted to purchase? You look for patterns, common complaints that people have, not random rants, but patterns. If many people are complaining about the same issues that obviously means there is a problem that needs to be addressed.

My problem with this beta test is how broken this item is that we were given, not that we were given something to test out. My problem is that it is clear no attention whatsoever was paid to how this would effect gameplay. No timer, cannot be effected by conditions, damage too high, not effected by siege cap, supply cost to low imo.

Not to mention the constant threads asking them to overhaul siege not add more broken siege to a broken siege system. And stuff like this just leaves a negative impression for many people regarding the devs priorities.

The problem here is that most people just come and demand everything to be removed without actually pointing the problems. Most, if not all of them are just “Wah Wah Wah, we don’t like cannons! Why you put this? Remove them immediately!” when it should be “Cannons have this, this and that issue that should be adressed”. Post negative idiotic feedback is worse than posting no feedback at all.

So, the cannons have issues that need to be adressed ASAP:
- No Decay timer like other deployable siege.
- Not counting toward local siege cap (5 sieges in 2000 radius) and problably not to the map cap either.
- Not being affected by critical hit or conditions.

And also there is another issue that people are complaining that cannons behind gates completely turned rams useless. While Trebuchets already fill that role, I would suggest an adjustment to make it a bit more fair: Reduce the AoE radius of the Deployable Cannons attacks to the same of the siege disabler. This would allow people to still place rams far in the back to avoid cannons behind gates (Trebuchets still hit anyway) while allowing cannons to punish poorly placed rams.

I heard dagger necros are very good at manning Arrow Carts…

How about exhaustion be applied upon using supplies instead of dropping the siege? I can pretty much drop 3 trebs and waste 300 supplies under the 3 minute frame.

Odd, but still in your pictures it seems like the enemy zerg is coming from the “front door”, that’s the direction everyone is taking to head to the lord.

You only showed pictures of him changing sides between JC, TC and BG. However there’s none of this ability to “change professions”. Well guess we’ll have to wait for the red post :/

Also he said “upgraded bay” when the first picture while he still own bay shows that it’s a paper bay (0/500 depot). I think he is exagerating…

If you are bothered about guards rallying people don’t let your enemies get to the guards in the first place or let them clear out the guards before you enter the fray. You choose to fight alongside the guards so you will have to deal with the possible rally, just as your enemies have to deal with all the npc skills.

It takes them 500 years to design a WvW map from scratch and test it for balance!

And then players think it’s kitten and hate it just like they hated both new maps they made for WvW (EotM and DBL).

1 – I think this will only work if all the existing servers are replaced with the new servers. There is no incentive to move servers currently and you problably would only see a small portion of people willing to move to a whole new server. Thus having more “dead servers” than you already have.

2 – As I said above: Remove all existing servers from WvW poll and make people choose a new server from the new ones if they want to go to WvW. New players also should be allocated on the old servers (no access to WvW) and only pick a new one when they decide to go unto WvW.

3 – Only if the current servers cease to exist. I see no point in doing so otherwise.

People sitting in towers will sit in towers in any map.

Do the “Mercenaries” get reward for being in WvW? If not, this system will just be a major headache to anyone who don’t want to belong to a “hardcore WvW guild” since I doubt anyone would like to actually get pugs on the group (You see that already happening on regular wvw), and even if these pugs join, they won’t be rewarded for their efforts.

Also, if the alliances end up not being balanced, it’s clear that every new player looking for easy rewards will choose being part of the strongest alliance (which is basically what we see when everyone just stack in one server), making the balance even worse than it’s already is.

Lastly: We belive that the cap on the WvW maps are somenthing around 80 people. How you expect that 4 maps that can suposedly allocate 320 people to hold all the players from 8(NA)-9(EU) servers at same time? My server which is the dead last on NA ladder can field around 40 people during NA prime time, which means that us alone can take 12,5% of the total capacity of WvW. I’m sure any server above us can field much more than that, which means we’ll hit 100% long before we can get everyone on the game.

EotM is to big to be put in the rotation imo. That and the fact that its available 24/7 if you like it that much, no need to add it. DBL, personally not a fan of but if it was only 1 map vs 3 and rotated out after a week I think it would be bearable.

But EotM was never used as an actual WvW map tho… It always been looked down as a karma-train map for pve players who wanted wxp. The results of trying it in the place of EBG for exemple are unexpected… No wait, they aren’t. WvW players just hate everything, they will just hate it like they hate everything else.

The problem is plain and simple. Favoritism. If you can’t see that a company who administrates the game should not play favorites you don’t understand what favoritism is.

ANeT, as stated is an admin guild. They have special privileges that normal player guilds don’t. They may have the same effect as a normal guild but it tells the other servers that ANeT favors the other server.

I come from a military background where I could not show favoritism due to my position. To do so would tell the other lower ranking people that I will chose someone over them. This is very similar. The ANeT devs represent the company. This means that if the claim an objective for a particular server they have chosen that server above the other servers. i.e. Favoritism. And unprofessional in the business world.

It would be favoritism if they were gaining some advantage, which they are not since any buff Anet guild can give, a player guild also can. And I’ve seen Anet claim objectives in several servers. Favoritism cannot be a general thing.

Also you talk about this being unprofessional in the business world, but this isn’t business my friend. Maybe it would be a problem in their e-sports spvp which have ESL and other championships, but WvW is just a part of their game which isn’t involved in any kind of external business. By the way you putting it, it means that if I do Forsaken Thicket with an Anet player it means my group is being favorited over others because we have a Anet tag on our raid while others do not.

Oh yeah, I said their game. They can do whatever they want and you don’t really have a say on it since you agreed with the EULA (you know, that huge wall of text you just scroll down and press “I accept”).

Well, we had barricades in DBL and people hated them. People here hate everything in WvW tbh…

Rewards shouldn’t be given away for winning matchups because people will just stack in a single server to win… It already happen for a chest with 2 blues and 1 green. What you think will happen if you give 100g away like that?

Rewards for defending walled objectives can be tricky… One can just dump a bit of supply in a damaged wall/gate and get participation for the defense event. This will incentive kittens to waste supplies to get their shineis. Also, they removed reward from yak escorts because of botting remember?

WvW can’t have nice things because people don’t know how to play nice. I’m actually impressed we got reward tracks which already allow afk farming behavior.

The only actual good idea in there is the asking for a vendor to sell ascended stuff in WvW. We already been asking this for ages. Altho crafting ascended currently is cheaper than buying the chests on the fractals even if you buy all the mats (considering the price of the stabilizing matrixes) which lead me to expect that if they ever add the ascended chests it will be super overpriced and likely not worth it.

Lots of changes were made to the desert tbh… But players were flooding this place so hard with tears that Arena Net just gave back ABL without even letting us play the changed DBL for more than a week.
