Honestly, they just “betrayed” people who stress over being ranked in a ranked system that is clearly flawed… As long I can log in and get reasonable fights (not loopsided ones or mindless blobfests) I don’t care which tier I am.

When PPK is active, people say others don’t fight because they will give points to the enemy server. When PPK is innactive people say others don’t fight because it’s not worth it.

Please make up your minds.

Huh, not having a bloodlust give more purpose to it imo. There is more incentive to fight over it since one server will always be short. It’s kinda like SMC. There is only 1 castle for all 3 servers. Now we have only 2 bloodlust for 3 servers.

Most people were pretty confortable with only having 1 bloodlust (hardly going to contest other map ones). Now one server is out of the confort zone.

I know some uplevels that were far more useful than some 80’s i know…

A lot of people make free to play accts to spy or to troll tactics. Free to play accts should only have access to edge of the mists.

10$ accounts can do the same and they don’t even need to level up to 60 to do it. Like it was said before, this kind of behavior been around since day 1 and there is no point in limiting the F2P accounts more than they already are just because the OP thinks the troll is a F2P account.

We pretty much already know who gonna win in this structure: One of the top 3.

All other servers don’t have even a reason to show up.

WvW have two kind of matches:

1 – The one where you are severely outnumbered and roflstomped.

2 – The one where you severely outnumber your enemy and roflstomp them.

Other than that resets would make sense, servers would end up in the appropriate placement in accordance to the present state of the game. In fact a reset every 6 months wouldn’t hurt.

They should just reset everytime they change the pairings and let it roll… At least we won’t be having the same matchups for the entire linking.

Make them use legendary armors and give them ad infinitum so we can remember that PvE is shinier than WvW…

Yes some people will transfer up for a better chance and a “good”(lol) reward, but there are other people who play to have fun that won’t transfer up. You can have your zergy blob that is only playing for the rewards, while those of us that play to have fun can play on the lower tiered servers. So what if the servers filled with zerglings can get a free ppt win off of them? Doesn’t mean you can force people to play the way YOU want by merging their server with another. Honestly I feel really sorry for those of you on BG, JQ, and SOS; it’s gotta be a very unfun way to play the game, but you don’t see me forcing my fun play style onto you.

Do you ever been on bronze dude? I remember having a Matchup with YB while on ET… It was SF/YB/ET... Do you remember how big were our population? Even if SF and ET both tried to push YB, we would just be overwhelmed by far superior numbers…

Now most people consider YB to be a low populated server (Since we’re basing it on the T1 and T2 populations). If YB is low pop, what should we call the servers YB was able to beat by 5x its score? (And I’ll not even mention that ET had another exodus)

Bronze league servers need to go… There is too much empty space that no one will ever fill. I bet that even if we merge each bronze with 1 silver (making 9 servers disapear) we’ll still have a lot of empty spaces (No queues, and prolly outnumbered buff at certain times of the day).

And don’t come with that response of “we play for fun”. Unless you like doing PvDoor or being severely outnumbered by the enemy, because these are the only two options that happen in most matchups, and then I can’t argue with your “fun”.

If they were that hung up about population and coverage (what coverage is there to even complain about, they all equally lack coverage) they would have transferred up ages ago.
Those that are there choose to be there and are attached to their communities.
Don’t take that away from them.

And then why these same people keep complaining that they never get competitive matchups? If they like so bad of being roflstomped every single week just because they can hang with their community?

I think 2nd and 3rd place points must be the same to incentive attacking the team on the top and not both lower servers fighting each other for 2nd while 1st runs away with the victory.

I’m genuinely interested in this topic and would like to get some insight into it from our players’ perspective. (For clarity, I’m not on the WvW Team; y;’all know that. I just found the theory interesting.)

Free transfers are more likely going to destroy servers like happened in the past… However a T1 server shouldn’t have the same price as a T8 server.

I belive that if prices were based on the position the server on the WvW ladder would help a bit since transferring to a lower ranked server would be cheaper than to a higher ranked one. And anyone trying to transfer up would have to pay more based on how high they intent to go.

You people are still throwing jabs at SF? pffffft…

I would rather be playing DBL for the past 3 weeks than this kitten matchup we have in T4.

If SF is able to stop the rating bleed this week, they might be able to pull off (maybe in the next) because HoD will be taking rating from GoM and NSP (As we can see, the free transfers broke the balance of T7).
Ofc, the population increase of ET/FC is the major reason of why SF is bleeding right now, but I’m sure SF have enough people to cover that… All they need is to step up, since the easy PvDoor they were facing for the last 7 weeks wasn’t much of a training…

I don’t really care that much but if their guild was just automatically given max buffs and tactics and is then actually using it in game on only certain servers then I think there’s at least the appearance of a conflict of interest.

If it was the start of the expac when guilds were still leveling up and stuff, I would stand with you on this. But now? Almost 1 year into the expac? Not really a issue worth to even bring up imo.

Neither Riverside nor Kodash nor (i think) Elona ever had a link.
Anet stated, that they won’t link national and international worlds thus making it impossible atm to link these servers without reducing the total number of matchups.
That led to a lot of motivational problems on Elona (and to a lesser extend Kodash) with loads of peeps leaving for Riverside (which is now full as well).

Yeah, but stop and think: there are 7 German servers and 5 French servers which can be linked with each other to balance population with other server. It also give plenty of open options for players who desire to be in a server whos their main language isn’t English, but their own. However, how many Spanish servers there are? One: Baruch Bay. A server that will literally never have a link because Arena Net will only link National servers with other national servers.
So what happen to the spanish-speaking person that want to play in the spanish server if the only spanish server is full? They either go have a undesired experience in a international server or don’t play at all.
I am against opening full servers (except BG. OPEN BLACKGATE!). There is need for a limit. So keeping Baruch Bay permanently open is not a viable option. Another Spanish server is needed and it can be linked to Baruch Bay in the same way French and German servers get linked with each other. With the links they don’t really need to keep the number of servers as a multiple of 3 anymore. They can just reduce/increase the number of hosts accordingly. In fact, that’s what they wanted to do when they offered to make new smaller servers to try balance matchups better.

It’s not to me you need to ask these questions Chaba… If it depended on me I would have reset glicko entirely every re-link since the ratings would no longer represent the population of the team after the servers changed.

We made many suggestions, but it ultimately falls to Arena Net to come up with a solution so they don’t have to tweak everytime their system break.

Nah… You would end up promoting more zerging and less roaming. There is already barely anything for roamers to do. Making camps impossible to flip will just be another nail to that coffin.

At best put the extra guards upgrade on the first tier. That already make a camp annoying enough to solo and give time to anyone interested to run there and defend against 1-2 people.

I disagree with the dot part, as every single class have a lot of Bleed/Poison/Burning attacks, and that would make stealth useless… But AoE and direct damage should be able to remove stealth status as you did hit the target.

This was big issue over a minor part of the legendary grind. The 800g precursor is not the item people are complaining about but the GoB? That does not make any sense. If that was the only reason you wvw and you did not get it after you had enough badges that’s your own fault. The amount of time it takes to get the new GoB is compared to the old way. Instead of doing JP and dailies they can just afk or play wvw for a few hours during a week.

They don’t even need to get “the green keep vista” for their GoE anymore…

I believe many voters thought the maps would be rotated in and out. Alpine is a superior map but it does get old after years. This partial map decision seems a bit odd.

The partial map decision was to allow everyone to play in the map they want. If they want ABL, they have 2. If they want DBL, they have 1. But DBL haters refuse to accept that DBL will be part of the game and keep crying out loud for it’s existance.

Think: why should they allow you to leave your spawn point to capture bases?
They are cutting your reinforcements. Which i’d call a valid tatic…

I have absolutely 0 issues with changing allies/enemies about times to time. I like to have contact with different people. I like to have an populated WvW enviroment oposed to the deserted borderlands (Empty, not DBL) we had before.

Thx to the Boon Share meta allmost nobody runs Condi Builds these days. Many Guilds/Publics dont even use Boon Share anymore and only use the Dur. Rune because its just a good rune.

Core Thief and Core Mesmer still apply to “your point”. HoT is no culprit in there.

I agree Elite Specs are too strong compared to their Core Counterparts, but the only way to solve this would be bring Core Specs par with the Elites. Not allow people who paid for HoT to play their spec in WvW is just unfair.

You can cap a tower on EotM with 0 resistance.
