Not really, the vote was open to everyone whether they play WvW or not, whether they play WvW 2 hours a week or 40 hours, and really by the time we had the votes it was something of a self selecting sample, a lot of players that disliked the DBL stopped playing back when they were stuck with DBL, so a lot of the players who kicked up a fuss about it 10 months ago didn’t vote because they stopped playing or barely play, hence a self selecting sample.

If they stopped playing they have no say in how the game should go on.

Certainly I’ve flipped the odd empty tower. The next tower isn’t empty, though. Flipping Hills with one other person? Sure – it works because zerg mentality means it’s easy to have roamers pop swords on all of the towers and keeps at the same time, and have a more sizable force as a decoy (yep, the bigger force is the one you want to have seen).

The enemy zerg roars around looking for someone to fight, and finally finds your bigger force who are actually making a decent attempt at Bay. Meanwhile, amongst all of those swords you had your roamers pop the ones at Hills are real and you’re sieging the walls from odd spots that aren’t commonly looked at.

All the orange swords at Bay mean is that the zerg took the bait, you take their hills because the zerg mentality tends to dull the flexibility of people, and you have six camps, a keep, a couple of towers and are chewing through outer garrison before the zerg realizes there’s a problem and has to figure out what to do.

Remind me again why play at my level is against the game mode, and why yours is The One True Way?

“The next tower isn’t empty” isn’t always true… I’ve duo-ed all 4 Kaineng BL towers without oposition many times during last week. Sometimes if there is no WPs, you’ll even flip keeps before the first defender arrive…

Your “pop swords on everything strategy” only work exactly because of super limited resourses low population servers have… Sometimes it’s not even because we were careless, but because we HAD TO CHOOSE which keep we would defend…

Let’s say you have 10 people on Bay doing a “decent atempt”. If left alone, these people will undoubtly flip your keep. But then you have swords popping everywhere and only 15 people on the map. What you gonna do? Defend a keep you know you’re going to lose if you don’t, or go check swords that might be just a fake and lose the keep that is under attack?

Countless times I heard on TS “Abandon EB, we need to defend homeland” and lost a fully upgraded EB keep because there wasn’t enough defenders. Your strategy only work because the server in question don’t have enough manpower to send a sizeable force to defend the keep under attack while sending a party to scout/defend all other swords. I don’t find servers that need to choose what they are going to protect because there is not enough people to be healthy servers…

You asked me in other post if I want my server to get merged with another server. Yes, I do… Eredon Terrace is beyond salvation. You have 2-3 hours of action and then it’s a 20 hours of struggling to hold whatever you can with a handful of people that are outnumbered at least 1:5. When the “action time” come up again, we have a bunch of unsieged paper keeps while the oposition have fully upgraded everything else. This is a very frustrating experience for anyone new to the game. What I’m going to answer to the guy that ask “Why all enemy towers are upgraded and ours aren’t?”.

But for my server to be gone, two other servers need to cease to exist aswell (3 way fights, remember?), so it’s not as simple as saying “Oh just delete Eredon Terrace already since no one is playing on it”. That’s why we’re discussing the problem that low population brings, and not simply why my server is deserted. And many of the issues people are discussing here aren’t exclusive to my server, they are just worse for us.

Then you can come and say: “Oh, then why don’t you transfer out already if it’s so bad?” Ok, I transfer out and the problem persists… So every other Eredon Terrace player that is having a bad WvW experience need to transfer out aswell? Every new player that log on that server will also have to transfer out to have a decent WvW experience? Telling others to transfer out is not a solution. It actually just make the problem worse.

SoS is a much stronger defender now. I think since DK absence much of their defense has left.

Most of SoS defenders are problably from NSP… We don’t call them NSPPT for nothing. They sure hug those towers and keeps as if their lives depended on it.

To the people suggesting new NPCs, remember that a lot of people hated the new NPCs on DBL. You still will hear hate cries…

But honestly, just leave the camps as they are. Zerglets must learn to defend their holdings if they want to keep them. Maybe change the camps to pop swords as soon as the attack starts oposed to the current 30s that is applied to tower/keeps.

Everyone know DBL isn’t the reason WvW died… Otherwise, the people that quit because of DBL would be back when ABL came back. Now tell me why these people still not here? DBL was just used as an excuse for people who wanted to quit the game due other factors.

Technically DBL is far worse to defend than ABL due the super large side keeps and the distance between the objectives… Saying that the server that gets DBL as home BL will always win is utter nonsense as the people who care about score will go where the PPT is easier to get (which means, DBL). The people that hate DBL are people who usually roam and look for fights, and that’s because DBL was such a pain to navigate prior the changes made in April (Some of these people still hate it without even testing the map after these changes).

Yes. You would probably see another thread asking for desert to be removed. You see these polls are cancerous. In mass the community doesnt know what they want and the way ArenaNet delivers polls is simply broken. The global polls in this manner is bad in general and will and does lead to us accepting mechanics that are damaging.

I know Mal. I too wish Arena Net would make it’s own (right) decisions. But they decided to take the poll approach because people felt they were never heard. You cannot blame them for that.

Back on the subject of the thread. I don’t think server links must go. Several servers were extremely unhealthy for WvW experience, giving new players a horrid vision of the game mode.
I know how it is the botton of the barrel and it’s not pretty. I’ve been on Eredon Terrace for 2 years and sometimes we would have roughly 20 people for a reset night. You think new players would stick around when you NEVER find other ally in a suposed “team” game mode? When the outnumbered buff is a permanent feature in your buff bar and the PPT of your server is only from that camp you captured and still on RI thus why it isn’t flipped back yet? No. New players aren’t going to stick around for this. Server links are providing a way for these close-to-death servers to have an “healthy” WvW experience.
People are crying for their communities being killed because of links. I’m not bound to server pride like some people are. If that’s the price to “save” the game mode, I’ll gladly pay it. I like the varierity of being shuffled around and fighting different enemies instead of fighting the same 2 enemies over and over again because my server cannot move a tier due coverage issues. Removing the links would just return us to the stale state of WvW where you would face the same oponents for months unless a major population shift through transfer happened.

I see a lot of people yelling and bagging commanders, i myself used to cop a lot of it till the mass exodus of IoJ, rather than actually talking to them, trying to help them out. Toughness should only effect power but there needs to be more -% taken from condi dmg in the game much like there is so much -% taken from power dmg. I think protection needs to have an anty condi dmg taken effect say -15%. At the same time power dmg / builds need means of countering boons and healing. Its a bit silly that only condis can counter these effects making bunker condi the self contain counter play build. Maybe adding in means of drooping duration on melee hits for the non condi dmg classes. Also do more dmg to ppl who where just healed or who have reg effects on them.

That the thing in this game it was power dmg for a long time (mostly pve) and condi was a utility effect but now condi dmg is the best type of dmg but it has not lost any of its utility and power dmg has not been given any type of utility to make up for it.

If conditions are so powerful as you keep claiming, why most zergs are composed to of power builds except for the epidemic necros? Wouldn’t it be the logic that everyone just ran what is more powerful? You really think people are purposely gimping themselves and running power “in the name of fun”?

Besides, there are ways of countering condition damage in the same way there are to counter power damage.
You can complain about damage reduction foods, but then I will complain about the condition duration redution ones.
You can complain about Protection, but then I will complain about Resistance.
You can complain about Toughness reducing power damage, but then I will complain about cleanses reducing condition damage.

There ARE enough way of dealing with condition damage. People CHOOSE to not pick them and them proceed to complain about it being too overpowered when they CHOSE to not counter it.

There are overtuned condition builds? Of course there are! kitten playing against dire CondiChrono . But there are just as many overtuned power/boon builds for Berserker/Scrapper/Tempest aswell.

…and that should be fixed by giving WvW a unique legendary associated with it once skirmishes get a proper reward system, not making PvE map completion available in WvW.

In that case, They should just re-introduce WvW as part of map completion like it was before. I think it’s fair since this change was made to appease the PvE’ers that didn’t wanted to do WvW.

They did it this way to get more consistent participation from people. They want folks to go hard all 4 weeks of the tournament, so they gave incentive for people to want to place first each week. They also would tend to hope that you read their announcements. I’d recommend submitting a support ticket and hoping that they’re kind.

The players killed EotM, not the devs… The map have a lot of potential, but it was all wasted by the greed of players. Anyone that belive otherwise is making him/herself a fool.

You’ll still have extra tickets that you’ll be using on future seasons… The servers that ended last will not.

Also, WvW is about coverage and not skill. It’s not right to punish a server because it doesn’t have people to compete. This only promote server stacking which end up in servers collapsing when the goal is achieved (like HoD), turning WvW even more unbalanced than it’s already is.

Also, the top server now have access to 2 mistforged weapons, which is already somenthing extra for the “winner”.

Aka added to EB and the 3 borderlands for regular WvW play as well? The mechanics for each colour actually make EotM way too imbalanced for competitive play. Here is the red side case:

If the weaker server is red, their keep will just be farmed over and over because of the workshop… It’s impossible to defend against a horde of mobile siege. If people are a bit smart they won’t stand udner AC fire and the wall will melt in seconds.

If the strongest server is red, they can sweep anything they want with a horde of mobile siege. It’s like a golem rush, but for free… They have the bodies to escort the devourers and a lot of people to be on devourers themselves.

I’d be happy if there was some kind of ascended food recipe that required these materials though. Food/Utility food that lasted an hour with slightly higher benefits or something. Considering just about everyone uses food buffs in WvW, it seems to me like it would be an acceptable alternative.

Nine actually… But what fun would be EBay/Kain/AR? You’d problably take the week off aswell.

Look at ET matchup… It’s the tier we are suposed to be (According to glicko) and it’s a super boring matchup. There isn’t a way to give everyone a good matchup, but complain while you are on one of the few good matches is just silly.

Veloka is problably the mascot for any server stuck on red… Being stuck on red for almost 2 years I can atest that as truth.

There should be a minimum requiment to let you be elegible to the skirmish/week reward. Problably somenthing like the meta event progress in the HoT maps (where your reward is based on the overall participation across the event). Playing while outnumbered should award more participation to encourage playing out of the peak times.

Another one that can’t handle the pressure of the bottom…

They removed the cap on conditions and then buffed them crazy. It’s like a mad-scientist experiment gone wrong and we are the test subjects.

I don’t think I’ve seen conditions go over the 25 stack cap outside pve except when a rev or guardian use the skill that pull all condi to themselves. Condition application isn’t THAT kittened.

The poll has ended! After removing all votes for “Don’t Count My Vote” the final results are:

38.1% Reevaluate match-ups monthly.
28.9% Reevaluate match-ups quarterly.
15.9% Reevaluate match-ups every other month.
11.6% Reevaluate match-ups every 6 months.
5.5% Reevaluate match-ups every 4 months.

After analyzing the results we have decided to go with a 2 month world linking evaluation schedule because the majority of players voted for evaluations to be more frequent than quarterly but less frequent than monthly. Since we have decided to reevaluate every 2 months we will be reevaluating the current world links and making adjustments on the very last Friday of every even month starting this month on the 24th. I don’t understand these people who “hate to fight their friends”… I’m always up to punch my buddies because I know they will fight to death and not just flee on sight of danger like 90% of the players in this game do.

And it doesn’t make us less friends.

I don’t understand how somenthing is “pay to win” when you are using the game currency. I would agree if these things were gem sales, but gold? Nah. I have all these things you calling “pay to win” and all I did was play the game. My guild hall was leveled up to level 45 with all WvW upgrades by 3 people. And none of us actually stopped to farm gold or flip TP.
Sometimes people go too far on what they are complaining about.
