You don’t know map chat abuse until you have played with Ajax Blue… And even then, this mouthbreather is no match for me. I’m proud to say that I trolled the troll.
People. Skirmishes weren’t meant to correct population imbalances… If your server don’t have the people, you’ll lose regardless of which scoring system is used.
I think the idea of skirmishes was more to halt servers that relied purely on ticking 600+ a few hours during the “night” to push up in points while not being able to compete in the other timezones.

You argument sound pretty silly when YB, the server everyone say to only PPT and never fight, is losing their current matchup and being projected to lose ~47 rating while dropping from 4th to 7th. Maybe PPT isn’t all that matter after all, or TC/JQ are much more PPT focused than YB.
Remake as…? There is no point in asking for a remake when you don’t even say what kind of remake you want out of it.
I don’t think there is a problem at EB, but if you die in the Enemy BL further than the 3 keeps, you rarelly will want to go up north again…
The condi meta (Which I rather call perplexity/torment meta) is likely to continue since it does not affect the “main” thing in WvW: The Zerg.
Since I don’t like it, I don’t play it. I have much more fun fighting in a build that actually require me to do somenthing other than spam 1 to victory… But ofc, I do have my perplexity condimancer to play when I’m upset with the kittenty roamers we see nowadays and their “carry-me-to-win” condi builds, so we can go out on same level.

5-4-3 seems to keep the winner and the loser of a skirmish in competition?
Think about the point spread between the winner and loser after a couple skirmishes.
The winner has 10 the loser has 6, that’s a 4 point difference. With 3-2-1 the winner would have 6 and the loser would have 2, still a 4 point difference. It’s exactly the same just with bigger numbers, that’s why this “change” is completely pointless.
Indeed, the end result for scoring is the same no matter if it’s 3-2-1, 5-4-3 or 1000-999-998. The difference is in how glicko calculate the ratings based on scores… It use the % of the score between the the highest ranked and the rest to make the changes. With higher numbers you make the % much closer which will lessen the rating gain/loss.
For exemple: If a match had 100 skirmishes and ended at 300-200-100, the score % difference between the worlds is higher than if it was 500-400-300 (100 is 33% of 300 while 300 is 60% of 500). The higher the difference, more rating you gain/loss based on the rating difference between worlds.
All the yadda-yadda about how glicko works aside, I honestly rather take 3-2-1 over a similar system with higher numbers because the huge glicko swings actually work for varieirty. Staleness is terrible, and we already had years of stale matchups in the past.
Why not just sink SMC into a massive lake with quaggan nodes that no one care about?
And what happen to players that have multiple tags already? I, for exemple, have 3.
If commander tags get account bound I want my 200g of the extra tags back.
I belive DBL was meant to be played in thirds, but peeople still have the home map mentality that a single server need to hold everything and that’s why no one got adapted to it. I really hope they remove the two remaining ABL’s for maps that favor playing in thirds aswell.
People, please understand: Maps of a single color means a map without activity, that’s why EBG is the most popular map
Guesting on low population servers in order to do the event is a way to avoid the overflow… Since I’ve left BG i never had overflow issues on ET, and sometimes I get already with the event at 50% or less… However you would have to use the timer apropriate to the server you intent to guest.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens. I imagine uplevels will catch even more abuse once this kicks in, and that the game’s going to become blobbier in general.
They can always just award points for players that are 80.
You’re saying you really preferred when they took up map slots, didn’t contribute meaningfully, and complained constantly?
Never bothered me tbh… I always played in lower tier servers where there were plenty of slots open for people to join and moan all they wanted.
KCSR is recruiting. We’re a WvW guild focused on roaming and havok, which means we love fights, but we also help the server with our fair share of ppt.
We’re looking for either other roamers interested in working together (be it as a larger group or as multiple coordinated groups), or people interested in learning the ways of roaming (we’re willing to help people with their builds and take them along so they have a chance to improve).
On reset night and on Eredon “Push Night”, we focus on helping maintain the server ppt by aiding the larger guilds. On the other days, we go around looking for fights or take our enemies territory if they refuse to bring the fights. We can arrange duels and/or small fights (2v2-5v5) as we get more people interested in doing it if it’s not one of the push days cited above.
The only requeriments are that you represent the guild if you are roaming with us and that you be willing to help new people as we get them on the guild (mostly with tips or builds). We understand that people have their PvE guilds and/or zerg guilds, but if you are not willing to represent us even when you are playing with us, it doesn’t seen to me you want to be part of the group.

7. Power seep, the game already has a fairly low power level even in WvW (even more so in sPvP) no reason to lower it further.
8. Numbers > skill/preparedness would be even worse than rn as everyone would run the same few builds copied of metabattle.com

Everyone pretty much runs metabattle builds already. It’s really hard to find someone who actually made their build. This would change nothing.

If the warrior (or any player that shoot a projectible) have the Unblockable buff, it bypass blocks and reflections (it can still be evaded by evade skills such as Distortion). It is a game mechanic. Not a bug or exploit.

Just had about 10 YAKS do this on SBI BL. It’s bad enough we are outmanned, do you have to rub it in by running around our spawn and picking off people?
They can’t pick off people as you are invulnerable inside your spawn… All they can do is kill a few NPCs and get killed by either invulnerable players or Legendary Defenders.
Swords soon, yes.
Making camp harder to solo, no.
Marking players, maybe. Honestly, I’m all out for removing watchtower upgrade from the game and making every NPC that see a player to mark it (that include Tower/Keep Guards). But this kinda could ruins small group offensive since people would be able to see “hey look there are 5 people there, we can take our 20man blob and mow them down and move on”.

Anyone who thinks a guardian is the easiest class to play, obviously has not played one. Btw, altruistic healing isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Your honestly better off with monks meditation so that contemplation of purity not only cleanses all condis, but heals based off healing power. Do the math and make the comparisons and you will see what I mean.
0/0/6/6/2 Magi/Cleric Guardian here… As long there are people around me to let me heal from buffing I don’t even have to touch my “Back to 100% hp signet” (kitten shelter). I don’t have to time my dodges if I don’t want to because I can use them for healing instead (Thank you Selfless Daring). Conditions? No problem, Purity of Voice will give me boons instead (And If I decide to use runes of soldier it’s even better).

Once a week long match is unbalanced its time to quit until next reset…sadly.
Maybe it’s time to give up the week-long match model… Skirmishes were a good way to give focus to a certain time frame, but the overall score still tied to a match that is too long.
Shorter matchups would make imbalance a bit more “bearable” since we wouldn’t have to wait 7 days when we roll a entirely loopsided one.

I’m surprised anyone on our server would make a claim anyway. HoD and ET have had such a similar story that you’d think we’d understand. Huge exodus, pummeled for weeks by new opponents, pummeled for weeks by the same opponent (DH for us, SF for ET).

“points per kill in WvW” doesmean what? really just per kill or do I have to stomp?
Aparently this one is jus for killing. There is the stomp bonus from bloodlust which remain unchanged tho.
So solo capping towers or keeps should guarantee exotic with a high chance for ascended drops. Each additional player that helps should lower that chance by about 10% until you hit the current drop rate (should never be 0% chance).

Wow, way to read part of the post and make assumptions. Just for clarification’s sake (although I thought my original post was pretty clear)… if you don’t have map queues, there’s nothing at all keeping you on the map being spawn camped. Move maps.
I’m pretty sure you know that there are people who don’t like Borderland maps and only play on EBG… Just as there are people who hate EBG with passion and don’t go to it for anything. So while spawn camping is happening on EBG, the people that only like to play on EBG are more likely to just quit for the day than going to the other maps.
While making the enemy quit is a valid strategy to win ppt (no enemies mean you control everything longer), that mean the game will end up becoming dull for the week as there will be less and less people to fight.

If they actually increase the range of the /supplyinfo it would be a BIG change… It’s a pain to get pugs to stack.
I don’t think it’s the removal of stats they meant… I think it was more because of the scalling of some skills changing (specifically heals on druids) that would force druids that intent to be healers to move toward healing gear instead of other setups… This is basically what they did to Tempests some patches ago.

Im just waiting for them to continually give the biggest force the red map. Or, give actual red the red map and wait for the real. consensus of how easy defending is.
Remember, we only had DBL for 3 or so weeks into these linkings, a majority of the experience we have on it was single server. I personally don’t expect DBL to be either dead or easily defended, especially on the severly lopsided matches.
Nothing is easily defended on severely loopsided matchups unless you’re on the winning server. That’s a universal truth.
if your complaint is a 20K condi burst from a full tank with max damage (ie dire/trailblazer), then yes I agree with you.
As much conditions are strong in this game, I still need to see these “20k condi brusts” people talk so much about…
