I actually wonder if people really BUY gems to transfer or if they just convert it with gold… Honestly, the only time I bought gems was when I wanted to buy some gem store item and I was saving gold to finish a legendary.
Since we’re talking about rivalry, we can’t leave out the “Glicko Ghetto Bro-Trio” SF/FC/ET.
They used to be more frequent and happen everywhere, but really I haven’t seen one in ages…
Also, trolls aren’t necessary people from other servers… There are people who don’t care about their own server and just have fun seeing people raging on whatever they are doing.
I think that if a commander is getting sniped it’s because he is out of position because the zerg isn’t following him closely. Really, I rarely die inside the zerg ball unless we’re wiping, and most times I’m the last man standing due the high sustain from my build.
Either your commander is running some glass or your zerg isn’t following him properly.

i think we need get people on normal WvW maps and use this only as overflow
If people are choosing EotM over the Borderlands map it might be a indicator they they DON’T WANT to be on the regular maps… Why you think it’s good that people are forced to do what they don’t want?
I’m pretty sure 75% (maybe much more) of the EotM players would never step on WvW and removing EotM would only put them back on their PvE maps…
EU got their thread locked even before it started… Anet don’t want to hear people crying about stuff such as “Now Drakkar Lake is in a bad position like Gunnar’s Hold was.” or “Why Vizunah Square have 2 links?” or “Why Piken Square (2nd) have no link and Jade Sea (3rd) does if they are on the same tier?”
And honestly, while I’m loving dem tears, NA one should have received the same treatment. They won’t answer the question these people want answered anyway, so why bother?

This will make the game mode less competitive imo & I hope this doesn’t happen but it seems like it is…
The score in this game mode isn’t competitive already… It’s just a metric for who have more people in more timezones than anything else. The only competitiveness in WvW are the fights, that when they happen (lots of people rather just avoid them and k-train).

EOTM is EASY mode and a travesty in a competitive “game”.
Questionable… Regular WvW would be just as easy, if it was crowded with uplevels and people that hardly do PvP at all and are there just for the rewards that PvDoor offer… Since that’s what you find in EotM, that make the game mode look easy.
EotM have some very interesting mechanics and I’m inclined to belive that if all three teams played it serious, it would become a great map, maybe even better than regular wvw.
i can flip a T3 camp by standing still and swinging GS #1 and use 2 of my utilities (stances)… yeah its way too easy right now.. but camps shouldnt take much longer (a bit is ok though), they should be much stronger! a T3 camp wont even protect someone from me when i want their head, their damage is tiny.. camps need to do actual damage. the only thing you have to keep an eye on there are the blinds from the scouts.
IMO just add 2 more veteran guards -> 1 more for T1, 1 more for T3. and raise overall guard damage by 25%
There is a reason of why warriors were pve meta in the past, and it’s exactly because they can just stand still and 100blades pve creatures. The same applies to camps. You can stand there and facetank everything while barely taking damage while other professions don’t have the same capability..

Considering I’m seeing 8 stacks of stab being taken out in under 1 second, I’d say stab’s ALREADY useless.
You are not seeing 8 stacks of stability being taken out in 1s unless it was boonstripped. The icd on the stability stacks is working fine, otherwise the meta wouldn’t have shifted back and we would still be pirate shipping.

Honestly all we need is glicko to be reseted every pairing and surely fiascos like T4 won’t happen again. If CD moved up sooner, maybe T4 would still be active. Now it’s a wasteland because everyone bailed out of it and there is no T3 server that will fit as the 3rd contenter.
All the PvE achievment hunters problably left WvW by now… They demand new content, and Anet need to give it to them.
Heyhey. When GoM was doing their ghostlytonic dance party outside ET borderland garrison there was a charr engie from (probably) ET chilling with us. You were playing some music for us and you had a SAB shield in yellow? Fingers of Orr guild or something similar to that.

You seem to be under the impression a ranger has to run a longbow, our melee weapons cleave and our staff isn’t blocked by all the projectile hate.

People spend more time doing PvD in WvW than fighting and complain about having to do a bit of PvE to get an extra buff they actually don’t need.

So you are complaining about a dude who voted “No” to the Desert Borderlands, repairs hammer and cannons.

Sorry but all of you low tier people that are matched up with Higher Populations Servers need to learn to fight properly in WvW. It is not your fault to you a Zerg is 15-20. To us a Zerg is at least 50+. You (for the most part) are unwilling to learn proper techniques.
You do not get into TS even though invited to do so. You run kitten builds and can not fight . Therefore you bring down the server your paired with. If you were willing to learn proper fighting techniques, and learn to run proper builds everyone experience would be so much better! But until these lower tier servers learn this stuff, they need not be linked with higher population servers.
Sorry but my T4 guild been killing T1 players fine during our last pairing while we were at YB, thank you. Most of the times our group died was because the enemy heavily outnumbered us. There isn’t more skill in the higher tiers, there is only more people.
Every server have people who run bad builds and don’t want to be in TS. Saying it’s a lower-tier-only problem is ridiculous. If “fighting properly” is bringing more people, yeah we won’t “fight properly” because we don’t enjoy it. We never asked to be linked to T1/T2 anyway.
Also, if links hurt so much the high tier server, why they tank so hard to get a link when the relinking is close? (The only servers that didn’t try to tank for a link were BG and Mag) Either the higher tiers do not agree with you or they just want more people > skill, which is clearly what the higher tiers are about.

If you’re outnumbered by a significant amount, you shouldn’t be allowed to keep the structure
Why? Smart play should be rewarded over mindless blobbing… If a zerg that big don’t know how to counter siege, they shouldn’t be rewarded with the structure.
The problem is: the blob don’t need to play smart counter siege since they can just AoE everything on top of wall making impossible for the defense to do anything unless you have enough people to fight head on. And this only promote more mindless blobbing. Why bother defending while outnumbered if the zerg can just roll over anything and everything? With the reward tracks now in place WvW is getting closer to EotM with each passing day.

WvW players just hate everything, they will just hate it like they hate everything else.
After seeing some of the responses from the pve crew on stuff like GoB and crafting stations in WvW, I began to see the rants here from WvW folks as mild in comparison. Did you read what some of those guys wrote? Temper tantrums.
Also NO! to the OP. I hate EoTM maps.
PvE is srs bsns man… I always talk about lazy people not doing bosses pre events and other minor issues when I’m on pve and they go on a all out rage. It’s glorious.
But I still think WvW’ers have too much unjustified hate. Even more when our game mode is the same stale thing over the past years. I’d welcome anything to shake things up at this point.
Regretfully , some matchups in league are just brutal. The top bronze server vs the bottom, the top silver vs the bottom. At least in gold its more competitive.
But the top silver vs the bottom silver, will be a complete slaughter.
Some server will never face each other in the format of the actual league… I’ll use the exemple te actual scores and tiers (i’m disregarding the mismatched ranks):
NSP, GoM and DR get 5pts
FC, ET and AR get 3pts
DH, EBay and Kaineng get 1pt
The following matchup will be decided by the ammount of pts each team scored, so the trios listed above would be the next matchup. If we follow the rating logic we would have next:
NSP win and go to 10pts (5+5)
GoM get 2nd and go to 8pts (5+3)
DR lose and get to 6pt (5+1)
FC win and get to 8pts (3+5)
ET get 2nd and go to 6pts (3+3)
AR lose and go to 4pts (3+1)
DH win and go to 6pts (1+5)
EBay get second and go to 4pts (1+3)
Kain lose and go to 2pts (1+1)
The following matchups would be:
NSP/FC/GoM
DH/ET/DR
AR/Ebay/Kain
Where we would likely have:
NSP win and go to 15 (10+5)
FC get 2nd and go to 11 (8+3)
GoM lose and go to 9 (8+1)
DH win and go to 11 (6+5)
ET get 2nd and go to 9 (6+3)
DR lose and go to 7 (6+1)
AR win and go to 9 (4+5)
EBay get 2nd and go to 7 (4+3)
Kain lose and go to 3 (2+1)
Making the next matchups:
NSP/FC/DH
GoM/ET/AR
DR/EBay/Kain
And so on…
At this model, only servers that win at the ‘tier 2’ of the league, will actually get matchup with the top ones… So the chances that DR/ET/AR/EBay/Kain ever face NSP/FC are none very slim (DR get matched with NSP at second week)… This model would be a pain for FC because they would face NSP over and over for most, if not for all weeks.
But even so, the leagues will be pretty much decided at first week, just like the last time… Unless the bottom servers receive some last hour transfers.

If they want to sell the next expansion they need to make a third borderland map, so DBL is there to stay.
Nah… It will sell regardless if there is anything for WvW or not because the big chunk of the players of this game are the PvE players.
You are overestimating the importance of WvW… If it was really important, it would have received more attention in the last 4 years. The fact that most of the attention it received was only recently just prove that.

Interesting…local team can get International help to balance their score.
ANet manually creates the Match-Ups using World Linking.
Now you’re suggesting ANet take International Scores & combine them to Local Scores to basically make all scores more balanced across the 3 servers in a Tier?
How do you propose to make this truly competitive game mode, or is this just to trick WvW players into thinking the scores are soo close…that it is competitive?
That’s the deal buddy. WvW isn’t meant to be a truly competitive game mode because it cannot be balanced since it operate 24/7. It’s more like a open world with PvP where you fight for a team but gain/lose nothing in the end regardless of the result. I’d say WvW is more closer to a Hotjoin PvP mode if anything.
But there is zero purpose of doing that.

Oh man, let it go. There was a vote, people went for both maps (probably in recognition that it gave everybody the opportunity to play the maps they like).
If nothing else, at least Anet can collect data on map popularity to compare with how people voted. Think of it like an old school taste test for wvw.
Yeah, we have 2 maps… I don’t know why people keep bickering about DBL… “But muh home BL”. Oh go take your enemies one in ABL if you don’t like DBL. Camps/Towers/Keeps worth the same in any map.
EotM was turned in a bad Karma Train spot by the players… Its a totally spoiled place that doesn’t allow you to learn/enjoy WvW.
Depending on the server you are and the time you play, being on the main maps even as a uplevel, will help more than hurt your server.
They might as well just give you a Gift of Heroes for every 500 ranks you get in WvW, handed out retroactively ofc. That way it takes dedication to WvW to earn one, isn’t tied to tournaments, and still allows you to eventually earn enough through ranking up to promote every single Hero weapon (requiring you to get to Diamond Veteran rank). I think its fairly reasonable

All condis are removed when the target goes down. An ele expecting to be downed will be spamming 2 to turn to mistform as soon he dies. Sure, there is a counterplay, but it’s pretty bad and only someone dumb will sit downed instead of mist form right away if he’s close to a tower
Mist Form is a cantrip. Vapor Form is a downed skill. Mist Form does not remove conditions.
Vapor Form does have counter play.

I said that you lose all condis when you go downed, not when you use vapor form. Please re-read. Also I never see hard CC hit vaporform. It always says “invulnerable” just like mist form despite the wiki text saying otherwise.

I’d be fine with nerfing the Rev’s boon duration facet, if that what it takes to fix it. And I say that as a Herald main. I’d prefer to spend the energy on my skills anyway.
Fun fact: The effect of Facet of Nature is roughly equivalent in stats to the difference between full ascended and rare gear.
As ridiculous as that is, however, boonshare was possible before HoT and can’t be blamed on herald alone. While it’s far easier and quicker to apply now, the current popularity has just as much to do with the increase in condi damage, which makes resistance a much stronger boon than before.
As long as boonsharing is possible, it’ll continue to see use. The “fix” needs to be applied either to the sharing process or the boons themselves.
It’s true that boonshare already could be made before and that shouldn’t be blamed upon heralds (It’s the mesmers that boonshare anyway). But before, we didn’t had the resistance boon and it was much harder to stack quickness than it is now with chronomancer.
Honestly, you didn’t needed to boonshare before because running shout guardians would already give everyone the boons you needed. The boonsharing now only make the boons more prevalent.

Ok, here is a suggestion to try help the people crying about the removal of banner ress:
Many NPCs on PvE, starting from the Nightmare Tower Living Story, had the downed status (or fight to survive) like the players do. You had to either dps down the downed npc or finishing him, just like we do with players. Why don’t Anet add this downed status to all Lords on WvW (Guild Claimers only, not guards)? It’s a mechanic that is already in the game, so I’m not suggesting you to create anything new.
Then, since the Banner (and all other ress skills) are meant to get up allied units on downed state, you can save the lord if he still downed. Once he is finished/dps’ed to death, it’s over, pretty much like it happen to players.
Accessories were always that price. Only Amulets and Rings were sold for BoH + Laurels.

Mag had to be relinked after what happened to DB imo . Mag imploding won’t be good for the game .
I’m not really sure if Mag would actually implode without a link (they still open and had no large guilds on BP like DB had on IoJ), but YB definetely need one to be competitive up there…
I feel they could have given Eredon Terrace to FA along with Sanctum of Rall… There is need for a 6th server in the top tiers and, while it always underperforms, FA is the closest to be competitive up there. NSP tri-link wasn’t enough and SBI only rolled T2 in a week where suposedly JQ and TC were both tanking for a link (THAT THEY DIDN’T GOT! GET REKT).

While I agree that pinsniping is unavoidable and should be played around, guardian is actually fast becoming the preferred target in a lot of fights due to their weakness to boon corruption/unblockables, I’m honestly starting to believe that drivers should try out other classes to drive on (eg minstrel/nomad chrono)
Warrior, Scrapper or even Tempest sound like a much more viable option for me than Chrono. But that’s just my opinion…

And yes not being able to counter siege is a problem when the supposed weakest server is being stuck with the bl. A determined zerg will eventually make it into any keep but it requires a lot of work in alpine since you can counter siege and slow them down. In the dbl the zerg just has to hit certain points and they will roll right over the smaller force.
Nah… ABL is also full of spots where you can no longer counter siege. Worse: These are the double wall spots. If a larger zerg decide to take Garrison by the NE wall, God forbid they have elementalists, because nothing will hit these catas except for a AC on top of that wall (which will melt in seconds to meteor showers). Same goes for Bay. Sure, on Bay you can counter treb them when the outer wall is down. But you need to shoot with lot of power, and the attacking force can easily rotate 2 bubbles to deny 1 treb of hitting. Imagine if they have 4-5 catas. You’re not stopping that. Hills is problably the only structure where you can proper counter any attacker siege.
The problem with DBL before was that the defending team never had enough people because everyone but the karma trainers refused to play the map. So it’s not a map design problem. It’s a people’s mentality problem.
You don’t even have the outnumbered buff. Somenthing is off…
guess some people get tunnel vision and strategy goes out the window…hehe.
When you’re 200k ahead I don’t think you need to bother with strategy.
