The Leveling & Open World Compendium
(edited by Kaiyanwan.8521)
The funny thing is, that people start to defend the grind in GW2 with games they think that are even grindier.
This game was heavily advertised for not being grindy and casuals having BiS items.
But to get anything nice in this game, including BiS, you have to mindlessly grind the same content to death.
Other games give you a new grind from time to time, and at the end of the grind you get a reward, a carrot on the stick as motivation, they don’t even hide it.
GW2 wanted to be different, now we have the same ol’ same grind as in all other games, with worse rewards. Impressive.

The whole PvE system is set on only one pillar: Damage.
You can’t play as a tank, you can only choose to have more survivability for less damage. This won’t help the group.
You can’t play as a real healer, you can heal, but most time, the damage spikes are too random and you find yourself just spamming heals (sort of a healer, but it feels stupid as kitten).
You can’t focus on CC, because most bigger mobs don’t give a kitten about CC anyway.
You can just play as DD efficiently. So this game is a one trick pony. I don’t think ANet can fix this, or even the whole melee meta for stacking boons. It is more or less what we can expect for the future too.
Buffing conditions? Now you can do damage in two different ways, yay…
The good part about a bad story is, that most people don’t care.
If people don’t care, scheduling is no longer of any importance.
You have to adapt to ANet’s mindset. In their company philosophy, they just created a perfect win/win situation!
I have some experience with mesmer, one can say that, yeah. I have managed to beat these bosses on mesmer, with and without challange mote.
However your post says nothing. It doesn’t specify which boss(es) you are talking about, nor does it say what the problem is. Is it that AoE attacks are hitting things AoE? Is that the problem?
Dear heavens. If you see clones as ressource for damage, you need the clones to exist.
Clones have so little hitpoints, that they vanish as soon as a fly farts roughly in their direction.
If the clone is dead, your shatter skills are worth nothing (unless you use IP, and than your damage will still be pathetic). Same counts for phantasms, they are fairly fragile too.
Scenario 1: Boss has an AoE aura, so as soon as a clone gets close to the boss, your ressource will just disappear. So even if the clone is alive and you press a shatter skill, the clone will die on the way to the boss where it is meant to do damage.
The result: No damage from the clone/shatter. Same goes with phantasms which die in a heartbeat within damage auras.
Scenario 2: Boss spams AoE attacks. Try to build up a good shatter? Because you know, those skills have cooldowns? Not with a AoE spamming boss. You waited 20 sec for your phantasm to be off cooldown? Yeah, AoE spam will kill the poor thing in a heartbeat most of the time, without it doing any damage.
This simply sucks. It is like ANet is telling us, that they don’t give a kitten about the class mechanic of the mesmer. That’s why noone runs shatter in PvE anymore, because it fails.
With the two boss mechanics explained up there, even phantasm builds have a hard time. So how is the mesmer supposed to kill stuff? Auto-attacking stuff to death?
Came here to see what is the best game ever.
Unfortunately, this thread is a troll.
The problem is, that GW2 give you no feeling of progression.
1. We have an item grind for ascended stuff, but these items feel fairly useless, as they are not needed outside of high end fractals. So the vertical item progression actual feels like a time sink gated by ridiculous amounts of mats hidden after a time gate.
2. The LS offered very little story over a very long time. The story is not really connected to the personal story, so it felt out of place most of the time, or even worse, just a cover up for the same old same zerg content every now and then. Where are we now at the end of LS season 1? There has been another dragon, that has been slumbering and was awoken. That’s pretty much it, after 14 monthes of LS.
3. There has been very little content added to explore. The “territorial progression” in this game is abysmal. New dungeons? New zones? Forget about talking in plural, after over 18 monthes, we have had so little non-temporary MMO essentials added for people to stay entertained, it is fairly frustrating.
Instead ANet tries to force players back into old zones with their LS. I understand that the creaters of those zones must have been sad to see all those people burn through them, but hey, it was a design decision to go with 80 levels and split up the world, so this is not the players fault.
4. Character progression since the release? What did we get? Two new healing skills per profession, one which is the same for all. And now we get one new trait per traitline. Am I the only one who thinks that this is not very GWish? If you want to look differently, you have to buy most stuff with gems. No feeling of progression, just a cash grab.
I could write more, but I think you get the picture.
(edited by Kaiyanwan.8521)
Because the game was advertised like that, because he chose this game on that base.
Don’t get me wrong, this is not about if I like what we get or not. For now I am fairly neutral.
But just at looking at the features this seems to be a pretty standard MMO expansion:
- New region(s): check
- New class: check
- Vertical progression system: check (like in AoC and soon in ESO too)
- Sub classes: check
- New battleground (WvW): check
- New pvp map/mode: check
- Guild housing: check
There is absolutely nothing new or fresh with those features. They are pretty much copy and paste as far as it looks right now.
Arguing that there won’t be a new tier of loot doesn’t make this all new and exciting, I see it more like one less feature. Other games have avoided to raise the level cap before (AoC, FF etc.).
Just saying. While the new stuff looks good, it is the most traditional bunch of expansion features anyone could come up with.

Mm yes, this thread is going to go well. Unsubstantiated complaints, calling mesmer overpowered, claiming faceroll in PvP, making little to no sense in the whole post, it ticks all the boxes!
Edit: Post history shows a grand pattern of nonstop forum trolling too. Yeah, this one is off too a great start!
But he missed the all time famous: “With all the clones it is hard to know who is the real mesmer.”
He must be a pro! Esports top team I say!
Leveling: Final Stage 60-80
Time to retrait again: Dueling 20 (same traits), Illusions 30 (I Precise Wrack, III Compounding Power, XI Illusionary Persona).
All following trait points go into Domination (I Mental Torment), on 80, switch to Lazy Kai’s PvE Build.
General playstyle:
Playstyle stays the same as before, but as you now count as clone too, you will do way more damage. Get used to distances and timing, as you will change to Greatsword (shortened cooldown) when you reach 80 and Sword itself becomes a secondary option.
Hope this helps. ^^
FAQ:
Why using the focus as off-hand?
The focus is the Mesmer’s swiss army pocket knife. I normaly only talk about the run buff, but it has the greatest amount of utility of all available off-hands:
- run buff
- cripple
- pull/knockdown
- combo field (light) -> Retaliation
- AoE with fairly long duration and great damage, phantasm will still do damage even if the target dies (as long as the animation goes on)
- defensive bubble, protecting from all projectiles
Kai’s Go Go Power Ranger Build
I have been asked if there is a pure ranged build with GS several times lately and yes, there is. It does insane damage from range and the best part is – if you have been a follower of the Lazy Kai Build – you won’t have to get any new gear.
Armor and weapon: Same as Lazy Kai Build (see above).
Traits: 30/30/0/0/10
Domination 30: Time to put some Power in this Ranger!
I Mental Torment: 20% more shared pain.
III Empowered Illusions: The life of an iZerker is short and full of pain.
X Greatsword Training: Our tool for sharing the pain, as sharing means caring.
Dueling 30: Power Rangers need to be good at dueling!
II Phantsmal Fury: The life of an iZerker is short and full of pain – Part II.
X Deceptive Evasion: Noone ever asks if clones feel pain, when you blow them up…
XI Empowering Mantras: Ha, no Mantra of Pain for you!
Illusions 10: No, Power Rangers are REAL!
III Compounding Power: Rule #1: If you play as a team, you will cause more pain.
Skills: We need to do funky moves, before we can share the pain!
Mantra of Recovery: Painkiller
Mantra of Concentration: No one can stop a Power Ranger!
Mantra of Resolve: I said, no one can stop a Power Ranger!
Mantra of Distraction: Secret ninja move.
Time Warp: Who pushed fast forward again?
Genereal GS playstyle:
After zoning: charge mantras
Attack 1: get aggro so the mob does not kill clones
Attack 2: clone (and tagging event mobs)
Attack 4: iZerker (and tagging more event mobs)
Dodge away from target: clone (and keeping distance for Spatial Surge)
F1: shatter
For tough veterans and elite mobs, avoid shatter and keep three illusions up as distraction.
As with every mantra build, your utility is restricted to them. While Mantra of Pain is pretty much a failure in terms of damage (and you do not want to use your mantras most of the time anyway), the other mantras offer good help to keep distance (which we need for max damage on Spatial Surge).
In PvE, single mobs will die fast, really fast. While this build offers less flexibility than the Lazy Kai Build, it will let you sit in the back and watch things die from save distance in group play (for heavy DE farming, i still recommend to go with the Lazy Kai Build).
(edited by Kaiyanwan.8521)
Here is what will happen for me:
1. I will try to get online while the event is running, to have some fun the way ANet told us it would be.
2. I will explore the new landmass, all of it, and I will enjoy it, because most of all, I’m an explorer.
3. I will take a break till all this mess is solved.
A dungeon grinder? For hundrets and hundrets of tokens to get the best gear (to have an edge in Wv3)? I expected GW2 to be something else, sorry.
Many people want new zones, not a revamp of old zones so that they look worse than before.
In PvE, we did not get a single permanent new zone since the release of the LS. Why would people who want to explore support a mechanic like the LS.
We also did not get:
- new races
- new classes
- a fair amount of new skills (what did we get, 1 generic heal that is good for nothing , and one heal for each class, that is in regards to the GW history underwhelming)
- new zones
- new quests
As all this has not sufficiently been offered by the LS, people just go with what normally introduces the stuff mentioned above.
An expansion.
The LS failed to convince people that it is the right direction for this game. So the expansion is their final straw for the content they want.
Games nowadays try to get away from trading posts and action houses, as they make people stop playing the game and start playing a market simulation.
Blizzard learnt it the hard way with their auction house in D3, it will close down this month.
ESO won’t have auction houses, there will be small guild stores but that’s it.
I for one welcome this change, it will reward the players that play the game, instead of the people who manipulate the economy. We have enough of this in RL…
(edited by Kaiyanwan.8521)
Oh, so, by anet’s definition, having to kill a raid boss, for a 15% chance to get the sword I want = grind.
Being able to get that same sword after:
- spending hundreds of hours hoarding mats or gold to buy the mats needed to craft other mats needed to craft the sword (with time gating, because kitten)
- get that sword via killing any mob in game, with a drop chance of 0,00000001%= no grind!!!
Give me back my grind, please.
ANet is taking the grind to a whole new level with their anti-grind philosophy.
It is like they make the grind feel so futile, that most players will just give up on getting what they want.
Genious!
As Belzebu calls out: You’ll have to check out the rest of the changes on the 23rd!
Holy mother of the six gods!
While the other professions get severe testing and clear feedback from the DEVs on the changes, all the rangers get is that? Wait till launch, wait and see what your specialization will be? Well thank you I think.
It is true, rangers are second class citizens.
As someone who always partner with a ranger, and played it some before, They do damage pretty well. Just because some player believe one way is better then the other, does not mean it always like that.
Step 1 don’t listen to the meta, is how I play. I may check it out for dea, but in the end, I have to play my way, or I wont be playing well. I still manage to pull my weight and f that means it takes an extra minute to take down a champion then so e it.
Your mindset is honorable, but you will be in a thight spot.
ANet opened the can of worms know as “raids”. If you think “play the way you want” is a thing there you might be in for a surprise.
Hey mesmers got “more reliable swiftness” by getting a 12.5% chance on a random buff of a signet to earn it. Game designers and their visions…
If you give most classes a passive +25% speedboost, why would you be surprised that the other classes want that too… It is obviously imbalanced in Wv3 too.
As much as I dislike to post on forums (normally only do so, if something went tremendously wrong), I have a good reason now to make my first post…
Here we go:
“Our goal is not to create a gear treadmill. Our goal is to ensure we have a proper progression for players from exotic up to legendary without a massive jump in reward between the two.”
Who are you kitten? What is the difference in progression between exotic and legendary stats right now? Exactly, it is 0 (zero).
If you want proper progression with a tier between exotic and legendary, the difference should be, drums, 0 (zero).
This is just a blatant justification to cater to the gear grind.
And btw, gating content with a special stat pretty much killed the other MMO that was ment to be casual friendly (Radiance anyone?)…
Scarlet is such a waste of a supermind character in a game that does not need one.
Everyone wants to fight dragons, and not a girl on dynamite. The LS is comedical content at best. Nothing matters, Queen Jennah or any of the childish members of Destiny’s Edge won’t make a difference.
They act like headless chickens, even though we managed to kill a kitten elder dragon.
Sometimes I think the elder dragons are right to erase this stupidity.
I honestly think 500g is a fair price for BiS gear. Even the length of time to farm for 500g is fair for a set of BiS.
I really think people have become completely spoiled when it comes to progression. 200hrs in-game time to get BiS is completely reasonable. I’ve logged more hours into Skyrim…
OK, who remembers what Mr. Johanson said about gear, BiS and who should have it right before launch?
Did he say, only the most passionated grinders deserve the best gear? Casuals shall burn in hell?
Was it that way?
In all of my life, I have not disagreed with a post more than I do with the OP of this thread. The OP’s entire post can be summed into 4 words: “This is not WoW”. And somehow he goes on to make this sound like it is a bad thing.
No, it’s not WoW. It is solo friendly. BiS endgame gear used to be easy to get, but now you’ve gotten your wish and there’s a gear treadmill so enjoy that… And finally more Guild based stuff is on the way.
But I really don’t get it. You have how many other gear grinders out there? Why in the world do you people keep coming to the successor of the wildly successful Guild Wars 1 and keep trying to demand it do everything WoW did and nothing GW1 did? It boggles my mind.
3. We are missing engame challenges, raids AND the grind for better loot.
Yes yes, I/we know. GW2 is a mmo where endgame gear stats are capped for all, and easy to get to. Its all about finding better looking gear, and stand out in the crowd..
- That is just fine, if Arenanet want GW2 to loose players all the time from boredom.Guild Wars 1 did just fine without that. More than just fine.
The simple answer?
Because they don’t want GW2. Even if they do not realise it, they want another WoW, just in a different setting as they want to re-experience their “first love”. So they try to change this new relationship in what was once their love.
Like in real relationships this will not end well, because either you accept the new partner the way he/she is, or you will live a lie.
Get over it, get over it.

What did it change that she died early. The drill reached its goal anyway.
She was done, she reached her insane goal. We lost. We could have gotten some knowledge out of the situation, but no, not Trahearne, but Braham takes away the story this time.
At this rate, I’m probably gonna get my ascened weapons by xmas 2016.
By which time you’ll have to stat-swap it for something else. Enjoy the “no gear treadmill” or “no power creep”. Coz Viper’s is totally not much better than Sinister’s. And there’s totally not gonna be some better stat combination in the future to make your current one less useful.
Yeah, the funny thing is, ANet has a tiered gear treadmill now.
But instead of resetting the grind on an update and putting everyone on the same level, ANet just raises the gear score on their ascended items (like from sinister to viper) to hide the fact, that ascended items having different values.
So there is no new level and no new rarity but we clearly have a power creep going on.
Currency overkill is always a sign of little organization in the DEV department. Some games get fixed at one point, when the amount of currencies reaches ridiculous numbers.
LotRO had the same problem. Then they added a wallet and then they just simplified the currencies.
GW2 already introduced the wallet, but there are way more currencies in a game this young than needed. It is an artificial gating to limit your options. Like every dungeon has its own currency. The currency is so limited that after a point, it becomes worthless.
GW2 will have a huge graveyard of currencies, if they keep up the inflation with new coins for this and that. Karma was a great idea, one currency for most things, but they messed that up badly.
I hope the DEVs will reach a point when they give us a few currencies with some value, instead of a lot just for the sake of it.

The only thing I personally read here is:
The train is gone already, we can only hope that ESO will fail and the people will come back.
Speaks volumes about the state of GW2.
Ultimately most of this discussion is moot, even the OP’s otherwise worthwhile analysis. If people subjectively like having BiS equipment, and feel the effort to acquire Ascended items is an unnecessary and unwanted grind, then they will not be happy. They will feel like ArenaNet betrayed them, that most if not all of their promises and statements regarding this issue made in the past were lies. And they will feel especially violated if they played GW1 where the philosophy was very different and balanced.
Any comparison between Exotic and Ascended gear misses the point.
This guy hits the nail on the head right here.
/thread
Good you realized it. People feel betrayed. It is absolutely unimportant what you think people should think. You can tell them that 10% more damage is not much (ask your boss for 10% more money and tell him, it is not much and it doesn’t matter…), but for them it is more then just a cosmetical change.
People will feel betrayed by statements of the past.
The Manifesto and the interviews are haunting ANet, and it will not stop.
(edited by Kaiyanwan.8521)
If you have three clones up and dodge with DE, the oldest clone will be destroyed and will apply on-death effects while a new clone is spawned.
After the patch, nothing will happen.
See the picture?
Tequatl on my server would drop like a million ascended weapons the day he gets killed.
I did create new characters lately.
In another MMO though.
All ascended items are timebombs created by Scarlet.
Her evil plan: At the end of the LS all characters with ascended gear will blow up!
Noone saw that coming.
Lol, Kaiyanwayn. I’m afraid you’re going to get reported for this comment soon by some white knight.:P
Vayne, I think you and your guild are some kind of “special type” of people. Whenever there are some changes that are almost unanimously disliked by the community, both here and at reddit, and you can read them all over the chat in GW2, you fellas seem to love those changes. You guys are some merry men, that’s nice to see here!:D
Well, you are allowed to, ofc, but it smells rather… weird.
Yeah, I fully expected my punishment. I can handle some extra credit on my account, I have been nice for monthes now.
Those changes are just unnecessary. Even if they were good, which they are not, noone would need them in a two years old game. Maybe if they had a new expansion release, then we could live with it.
But for now, they waste the little ressources ANet seems to have for useless stuff. This game needs to go places after two years, like Cantha or so. But instead they reinvent the leveling wheel – what is this, an alpha version?
And I am surprised that not more people at ANet question those decisions.
Like people who actually work on the game must go like:
“Kitten, I won’t program this bullkitten in our beautiful game. This ruins everything!”, every singe feature patch.
Who makes those decisions? Noone playing the game would think they are a good idea anyway.
This is what puzzles me…
There was a time, when people didn’t care for the daily or the monthly. Before stupid low ascended ring drops (for the one you really wanted) in fractals and before champion farming was a good idea.
There was fun in the initial release till November 2012. Than ANet took the easy way out and introduced one grind after the other. Now, the games core is grinding for the best item. Wow, sounds like every other generic MMO to me…
(edited by Kaiyanwan.8521)
Step 1: Stop trying to make GW2 some eSports, just get over it.
Step 2: Stop balancing everything around tPvP and ruining PvE and Wv3
Step 3: Profit!
(edited by Kaiyanwan.8521)
Patience I say.
It has already started, and it will continue as more items of the new level will be introduced. “To fill the gap between exotic and legendary items”, the upcoming new legendary items will have to be better again. If this does not sound like a gear-treadmill…
Get the picture?
In 12 years of MMO experience, once a game started to head in this direction, it would not stop doing so. Like back in Asheron’s Call 2, everyone had nearly the same gear and the same level, but no, Turbine then thought it was a good idea to raise the level-cap to infinity and was splitting up the lil bit of community, till the game died.
This might not happen to GW2, but the point is, splitting up the community will end in elitism and the neverending hunger of some for better gear…
To not implement it at all.
+1
Or hand it out for free, or by doing a personal quest chain.
Imagine that, we would get some awesome award for playing a awesome quest. A reward for having fun.
Why on earth is it so hard for ANet to implement something like that?
The answer is simple: Clipping.
The games engine is bad enough in regards of clipping. Just imagine having a GS on your back and a cloak. Or two swords on your side and a cloak. Puffy shoulders, hudge gloves and all that stuff would cause clipping too. It is a nightmare to program around that stuff.
ANet takes the easy way out, saving time and money. Simply no cloaks.
If we have learnt one thing from history, than that it is constantly repeating – for people are unwilling to learn from mistakes others did.
In the end, every new generation – on a philosophical approach – must have the right to repeat the mistakes of the former one.
This seems to be also a rule in game development. We see it right here right now with the druid specialization in GW2. This is just a giant deja vu. It is the same flawed logic like back in 2004 to 2007.
But let me be more clear, I will give you some context:
Celestial Avatar healing is the best available by a decent margin right now. One issue that came up is that the healing coefficients are so insignificant that running with healing stats yields very little reward.
The best healing in the game being available without using any healing power; this is not good for the game.
If you want to focus on being the top offense then you probably shouldn’t be selecting the Druid specialization.
The problems core and origin is the approach of GW2 to be a raid centric game. If people like it or not, if they are in denial or blind doesn’t matter, the new raid needs the trinity – tanks, healers and damage dealers. We are back to the good system of old, like in most other MMOs.
Now as we have dedicated healers and tanks, the fundamental question is, what are they supposed to do.
Irenio went with the approach, that the druid should be a healer, in fact the best in game. This comes with a prize, the damage of the druid will be subpar.
This is a common argument written below and Irenio both pushed them into the discussion with his statements above:
Player argument 1:“You can heal, why do you think you should do as much damage as a class that is specialized in damage and can’t heal?!”
Player argument 2:“If you don’t like playing a healer, play a different class, but if you are a class that can heal, you should heal!”
This was common game design a decade ago for druids in WoW. Their damage was bad even if specced and equipped for it, their healing was great and that is what the other people wanted.
Noone played a druid, groups/raids waited for hours to find a healer.
We are at this point right now with HoT in GW2.
So let me get to the points made:
Druid is the strongest healer right now in the game by the statement.
This has two consequences both not in favor for the game:
Consequence 1: The endgame is designed around and needs the max amount of healing available, which will pigeon hole all rangers/druids into the healing role, as a druid is absolutely necessary to beat the content.
Consequence 2: The healing of other professions is good enoug, which makes the superior healing of the druid totally useless. In fact, druids will offer less than other healing classes, as they are so focused on (over)healing, that they are becoming second choice.
Druids should not be the single best healers in GW2, unless you want to enforce “LF1M Druid all healing gear ascended” on raids and challenging content. (consequence 1)
If the healing is not needed, what is all this healing good for? Noone will care. (consequence 2)
If you have to have healers, all healers should be on the same level. This gives choice to groups, and diversity to the game.
Now to the “if you can heal you shouldn’t do damage” argument:
If you have a ranger, and you want to play as damage dealer in raids, how can this work.
Even in the best ascended zerker gear with the best trait setup, the ranger is only average in damage. And that is the situation before the addition of the revenant and the eight other elite specs.
So if you play as a ranger, you will not only have to compete for a damage spot with all other vanilla professions, but also with all other elite specialization. How will a vanilla ranger compete against that? Its elite specialization will actually hurt the ranger’s damage, that is not an option.
What you literally say Irenio – and I will write it here for you as clearly as possible – is:
If you want to play anything else than a healer in raids, you better reroll another profession!
Wow, the “if you don’t like healing roll another class” argument for GW2, for a base profession that is all about pewpew?
Good luck rangers, enjoy being subpar in all of the PvE game outside of healing raids. This is the cost for introducing raiding.
- Druid is pigeon holing ranger into a healing role for raids. How is this helping the ranger profession?
- This will not work. Players will get angry because they can’t find a druid healer and will call for a buff of other healers and then just not care about druids as healers. How does this help the ranger profession?
- Rangers will be the worst choice to pick as a profession for everything outside of raid healing in PvE. How will this help the ranger profession?
To say it with the words of Trahearne: This won’t end well.
Druid being a supreme healer with subpar damage won’t work. The concept is a 100% flawed.
Look, the other game has overcome this problem, at least when I left seven years ago, druids were great damage dealers, great healers or great tanks, depending on how they geared and specced.
You should rethink your mindset on the core design of the druid. It is bad for rangers, raids and GW2 in general.
Thank you.

How?
Weapons on the back – how will you handle this with a cape?
Weapons on he side – how will you handle this with a cape?
Coding working collision physics? Just let it all clip like noone cares?
ANet has other priorities than fixing something that is not broken (as long as they avoid introducing capes).
What would ANet tell the players? There is nothing to tell.
The little bit of Living Story continues, a bit of tweaking the game or breaking it with the balance updates.
That is it. Players after two years do not want to hear that there is nothing new on the horizon, so if ANet got nothing to deliver, they do best keeping their mouthes shut.
And that is exactly what is happening.
Oh, i totally forgot that underwater combat is still in-game.
I think ANet pretty mich gave up on that matter…
Infusion will split the playerbase as it did in LoTRO. It will cause guilds to split up, players to rage quit and friends to be excluded from instances. Oh dear, this is exactly the drama I hoped to avoid in GW2. Well, at least I tried…
If the right direction is straight over the edge of the abyss we have been one step away from till the patch, we just made a giant step forward!
Trahearne is a disappointment- he makes more sense if you play as a Sylvari but he is just so bland and useless….
That’s because he is made of soft wood log…
The TTS will be futile as soon as the encounter is fixed.
All I see is the people participating in TTS in fear of losing their only reason to exist and argue against fixing the encounter, sorry.
As said before, one-trick-pony guilds exist for a failure in the system, something that can only work because they exist.
Tequatl is a failure in the system. It is an encounter so deserted, that you need to gather people from all servers of a region to do it on overflow.
It can not be intended, to destroy your own content, ANet knows that. TTS will be robbed it’s only purpose to exist, and people will leave as there is no necessity for a band-aid guild, as soon as we get a workable Tequatl.
I have faith in ANet, I even have enough faith to check the patch notes next tuesday and see some first steps into the right direction.

Right now, it is not logging in.
Every single day.
For some reason the game makes me not want to play it. I don’t even know why…
given as reward for the completion of a certain episode
Ahahahahahaha, wait wait wait, ahahahahahaha.
Nope. Nice things will go to the gem store. When was the last time we got any new decently looking item as reward for playing the game? And when was the last time this item was a weapon?
On second thought, nope.

I think Scarlet just wanted to destroy Tyria, after she saw what the DEVs have done to it with GW2.
Can’t blame her for that.
I know the damage is already done with the ascended crafting materials and raising the crafting level cap, but I feel like ascended armor should be a reward from a questline.
Expand further on the background story of ascension and how it relates to fractals. This is the perfect opportunity to give what most GW1 players want to see, a return of familiar lore and possibly enemies.+1.
no ascended armour pls ANET.
you don’t make grindy games. you leave that to others.
Seriously, what game are you playing? GW2 is worse a grind than WoW was in his first year.

For some reason we got more content in the bi-weekly updates back in the old days than we get now in three month intervalls.
Seriously, what the heck are you doing with all those employees and all the time over there at ANet wonderland?
