The main difference is that unlike this person, you got a warning telling you it would become soulbound and you clicked equip in that message.
The thread we are talking bout was bout a vendor purchase where the person didn’t get a warning that the item wasn’t suitable for his professions and through that mistake he ended up with something he couldnt use.
You however got a warning (wich you ignored) and ended up with an item you can use.
I see a lot of debate here bout what people expect from support. and though I never played it, I suspect most are former blizzard-customers.
There are two really important differences.
a: within the blizzard businessmodel they want to keep you as an addcited and happy customer. They know you are addicted and are doing what they can to keep you addicted cause thats how they make money.
b: within the Arenanet businessmodel they only want you happy as long as it is proffitable. Where is the profit in giving you a refund?? what do they gain?Bottom line is that despite two level’s of warnings you made a mistake. They dont have any reason to help you or to symphatise with you.
You keep on making arguments and refuse to face your own responsability.
Im not here to kitten you off, but im helping you by warning you that you have wrong and false expectations what support of a free to play game actually is willing to do for you.
I wouldn’t say anet only helps those when it is profitable to them… After all, they did refund all the exploiters their account + gems when they were banned.. they just don’t refund user made errors since the system has many built up preventions to already stop these things. People who do usually make these errors are people who don’t take the second or two to read the warning text.

I’m starting my journey in search of my legendary and i wonder if it is possible to drop the Precursor of “Twilight,” Dusk.
I’ve been searching on various websites and most say that events in cursed shore have the chance. I wonder if it is true the possibility of the drop and if so, what is the exact number of each monster drop rate, for example, 1-500 monster or 0.1% of each monster.

At lvl 80, most chest have a chance to drop a precursor. However, it is incredibly low. All mobs in orr at level 80 will have a chance to drop precursors too. I’ve been playing this game since release and have not seen one drop of precursor yet. So, it really is a luck thing sometimes lol

There is still going to be overflows there is still going to be guesting this cheap fix will do nothing.
I know when i get home from work there are overflows now and there will still be overflows when they patch this.

Firstly, let’s point something out in the clear. It is obvious that guesting is not the major issue here. I know what i’m saying here will never get through the minds of the mass because they’re so convince that the immigrants are stealing their jobs that no other explanation will be heard.
But hear me out, the issue with the current world chest is that people from all servers are running their alts through all the world chest daily in order to get the guaranteed rare. Because of this, high population servers are experiencing overflow issues because people on THEIR server are running alts constantly all day. Why is this not a guesting issue? Firstly, guesting was implemented a month ahead before chest were changed. No overflow issues were observed during that period. Dragon chest was repeatable at that time too so exploiting them was actually possible.
Next, dragon chest changes come in, immediately high population servers are experiencing overflow issues at peak times. Now let i remind you, guest are put in overflow as a priority.
If guesting was really the issue here, we would have at least experienced some sort of overflow problem prior to the dragon chest changes.
Now onto why the current proposed changes will work.
As I have explained earlier, right now if people had 5 alts and did 5 bosses, they would get 25 guaranteed rares. After the changes, people will only get 5 guaranteed rares from doing 5 alts on 5 bosses. Therefore, this change will bring us back to when dragon chest were NOT changed but with the addition that we now have a guaranteed rare from the chest.
To conclude: the proposed changes will be the same as the old world chest +1 rare per account. AND the chest is now limited to 1 per character so exploiting this is no longer possible as it was previously prior to the feb patch.

you finally learn to give up doing your dailies. I’ve been doing my dailies everyday without missing even a single one since the early start weekend. The first step is the hardest but man, once you’ve missed one, you don’t really care about it anymore. I urge anyone else who feels like it’s a chore to just leave it. Your time is worth more.

Imagine a completely new person walking their way into Orr. Imagine the rage that would be generated by the said person on the forums. Levels serve their purpose as a tutorial with increasing difficulty.
First comment pretty much got it right. A well designed game doesn’t make the levels feel like levels, it’s more of a tutorial and when designed right, won’t even feel like one but by the end of it, you’ll be smarter, stronger and better player than when you first came in. Take FFXIV for example, their leveling progress is filled with interesting tutorials, ranging from interesting story quest, guildhest which are like short dungeons to teach you about mechanics of your class and bosses you will face, wide variety of lower level dungeons with many different things. Most players, if they did them in the correct order and paid attention, come out as pretty decent players by the end of it.
Of course, tutorial and progression doesn’t have to be level base, a good example is portal but that isn’t a mmorpg and having levels is just a solid way for mmos to categorize things. I however, don’t really believe in character level cap progression though (not the same as gear progression).

O yes, because that way we need to buy Black Lion Salvage Kits… And btw, good move nerfing the ectos drop from kits, now it can happens to exotics don’t even give one ecto.) the chest will be back giving loads of useless green and blue crap.

Salvaged one Exotic piece with Black Lion Kit… Got 0 ectos, when earlier exotics gaves at least one of them.

Exotics salvage with bl kit doesn’t guarantee ectos… I salvage ectos plenty of times, on good days i get 2-3 ectos per rare and bad days i can get up to none on 6 rares. The average evens up to be approximately 1 ecto per rare. I will continue to buy what Anet says because if you didn’t trust in the developers who made this game, what is the point of playing it?

Nobody wants them, nobody needs them. They are lackluster. Instead, falling damage is reduced by 30% by default. The traits could be replaced with something like these:
[Guardian] End of the Line
Wards (Line of Warding, Ring of Warding, Sanctuary) are instant and deal damage to foes when touched.[Warrior] Brutality
Disabling a foe (by stun, daze, knockback, knockdown, sink, float, fear, or launch) also removes a boon on hit.[Engineer] Medical Supply
Drop bandages when you take more than 10% damage in a single strike. This effect can only trigger once every 15 seconds.[Ranger] Thorns

I actually use them quite often… on my mesmer.. on my ele… in fact, i would sometimes almost call it OP on some classes.. you dive in on an enemy from the top of the wall and knock them back/stun them etc and run away or finish them off.

This is the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard anyone say. There is NO business in the entire world, that remains profitable with a strategy encompassed by “we only help our customers when it’s profitable for us”. Secondly, what they gain is a customer who will continue to spend money on their game, instead of one who won’t spend another dime. All for 5 minutes of some GM’s time. Btw, the game is Buy to play, not free to play. The difference is astronomical.
But I digress. Yes, I made a mistake and didn’t play close enough attention. I asked for help and haven’t yet received it. Is not helping me worth losing a paying customer over? We have all been through issues and gone through support and have received similar messages of not being able to help. I personally have lost tokens and achievements because of mistakes Anet has made (mini server roll backs, server wide d/c issue) and support has said the same thing, we can’t do anything about it. At least with YOUR problem, you had control over it and you were careless. Others like us just learn to live and move on. Sure, anet should have a GM system which they should use to compensate users who have lost items due to their mistakes but they don’t. But your issue here is clearly because of your carelessness and if you went to support and they said no, you shouldn’t blame the bad customer support because they didn’t fix your mess.

Race change will never be implemented due to the conflict with personal story. Reseting your story is by no means a viable solution but just opens up to potential exploit.
Pick your character carefully when you create it or just make a new one, doesn’t take that long.

I’m just going to guess what this rare dye you’re talking about is the unidentified dye. If that is the case, i’m just going to say, no they didn’t nerf it. The unidentified dyes you get from the merchant are the same ones you can buy or get as a drop. You have to remember, when you open one of these you’re opening for a chance of getting 1 dye out of 403. So obviously, it’s not hard to hit a bad streak where you don’t get any rare dyes at all.
I’m curious why they did this: “Weapons sold by vendors are no longer salvageable.”.
I know karma vendor items weren’t salvageable (even though I think we should be able to at least salvage upgrade items from them).Haven’t finished reading the notes yet, so I may add more.
I believe using 30 tokens to buy rares and salvage them was not intended by anet.

Hmm the drop rate of t6 has been nerfed worst than before any of the patches prior to 28th Jan. Moldy bag drop rate seems to be same as pre patch 28th jan. T5 drop rate seems to have remained same or increased since 28th jan

So i just got gw2 today and i was wondering how long it would take me to get to 80 if i play about 6 hours a day?
First one will take you a week, then the proceeding ones will take you less and less. My last 80 I got I did in 2 days.
Won’t this flood the TP with even more ectos? I mean since patch I always get at least 1 rare from the loot chest. If you get a “guaranteed rare” from special new chest and keep the regular boss chests as it was won’t ppl get even more ectos? Maybe I understood something wrong but I hardly doubt this will solve the overflow issue.
Oh and, can we get timers that correctly display the spawns? Like official timer or something. I often get the feeling like the timer is trolling me lol
No, there are less rares now. Before it was 1 guarantee rare per character per boss. Now it is, 1 guarantee rare per account per boss.
To put it in perspective, if I had 5 alts and I did 5 bosses, effective it would net me 25 guaranteed rares if I did them all. Now after the changes, if I had 5 alts and did 5 bosses, I would only get 5 guaranteed rares. Get it now

I think one of the problems we have right now especially for smaller servers is that the upgrading structures tend to be put the whole cost on a single individual per upgrade. I think a more effective system is to allow people to donate towards each category of upgrade available for that structure. from a minimum of 1 silver to a maximum of the full upgrade. I think a lot of the time, people don’t want to be the one to cough up 1g+ for the last t3 upgrade but do not mind donating lets says 1-10s for the cost. If each person had the ability to do that, then we would be able to upgrade the keep in no time through team contribution.
There isn’t much room for abusing this system too, first you’ll have to make it that only people who donate can have the option to choose which upgrade to select first if they were the last person to meet the quota). Most upgrades now have to be upgraded in the relative correct order anyways i.e. reinforce walls before you can upgrade the guards or higher tier merchants. I think this would promote a much better system as a whole for players to contribute to the wvw cost.
thinner is the auto attack, thicker is usually a channeling skill? unless you’re talking about your adrenaline bar (charge to activate your special)

Boon hate is not a silly concept. It worked perfectly fine in GW1, and it needed a boost in GW2.
People are saying they would prefer boon stripping over the “more damage per boon” trait. Why? It seems, to me, that boon stripping is stronger than +3% damage per boon. Because the new warrior’s trait won’t remove boons. It won’t remove aegis, it won’t remove protection, it won’t remove vigor, it won’t remove stability, etc. Boon professions will still be able to dodge more often, to protect against stuns (and thus against warrior’s bursts), and generally regenerate their health. Each boon is, generally, far more worth than a 3% damage reduction. So, ultimately, this new tait will give warriors a higher chance to burst down a boon profession, but said profession can still counter the warrior by… using the effects of the boons.
Also, giving everyone and their mommas boon removal would be annoying. It would be annoying, because each time you would add a boon to yourself, chances are, you would lose it from a random soccer mom. It’s good that devs are adding more ways to fight against boons, that do not solely rely on stripping their effects. It adds more diversity to the combat system. With this new trait, a boon profession is going to be boon-countered while still reaping the benefit from boons. It’s going to lead to different kinds of duels than boon stripping (which is also getting buffed).
It’s silly to me because I feel boons are suppose to be helpful to me instead damaging. If I have 8 boons up, it pretty much neglect over half my protection boon. I much prefer if they gave warriors boon stealing/removal skills or a small % to steal/remove a boon in their trait line since this at least effectively either forces them to use one ult to counter my boons or that I can at least counter his boon steal/remove chance by kiting or kb or dodging him. having said that, like I said, this will barely affect my gameplay, I don’t even use Save yourselves when i’m in PvP since there are much better ult to use in pvp. So I guess in a way, i’m glad for this change since it wouldn’t affect us as negatively as the changes I have proposed as an example.
Stop blaming market manipulators. They only make a profit because there is a demand for it. It is YOU the people who support these guys.
It’s amazing how there are people complaining about a perfectly healthy economy. It’s like people PREFER inflation to occur and to have big numbers in their bank that are worth nothing.
As I always say, the supply price can only be as high as what the demand is willing to pay!
This kind of reflects in real life too. A lot of young people think real money is made off salary but it’s not! For example, sure dentist usually get paid well, but well place investments easily out earn a man’s salary/wage. The key here is to apply both in conjunction. Why do you frown upon some well placed investments which literally any monkey can learn. There aren’t that many economic experts in the game world, just kids experimenting with stuff (the real ones are making real money, not virtual money…)

Hi all,
Been hearing of an issue with people guesting & causing overflows & the possibility of limiting Dragon chests to one a day.
I don’t mind limits to avoid people taking advantage of the system, but don’t penalize the normal player because of the activities of some.
I don’t guest, no need of it. I play only one server with my team. To limit me to only one dragon chest a day is obnoxiously short sighted. We have only a limited amount of stuff to do at the high end, DON’T limit it further.
What’s the solution? Limit people who guest on other servers to one chest per day per account on other servers, NOT everyone on the server! DUH! Don’t limit my teams high end gameplay.
Please make a good call on this one.

Sighz…the reason guesting wasn’t nerfed is because it wasn’t guesting. It is the own home server players who are causing the overflow. Just because people all blame guesting doesn’t make it the issue. In reality, there is only a small amount of guest who actually make it to the event. Let I remind you, guest are put in overflow as a priority.
In the long term the lack of the trinity makes instances and any other group play boring and shallow to say the least.
People aren’t forced to co operate and work together or strategize like in other mmo’s that we’ve all played in the past.
If you want people to continue playing this game for any length of time you need to bring back the trinity Anet.
Trinity is what makes gameplay shallow. One of my favorite class to play was healer because I only had to play with 1 hand wink.
If you enjoy just casual goal-less exploring and fun, give it a try. If you want actual end game content then you will be disappointed.
I just wanted to bump this up again, I did ac today, first path was fine, then 2nd path, everyone was lagging. We’re all from different servers and countries so I don’t think its coincidence that all our net was dying. Also one of my party members lives with me and she didn’t lag the same times as I did ( she didn’t lag most of the time but a bit near the end)
I’m slowly losing faith in this game as well. I seriously held on for awhile, trying to trust anet to actually listen to feedback but yeah.. why nerf the spirit weapons? were they really that OP. Not to mention the amount of bugs they have introduced into this game with this patch. Constant DC and mini roll backs!!

what about every other class. can’t put down enough cc and dmg without it running into range of mobs and agros. the only way you can do it is to have a class that can instagib+stunlock at the same time.
All classes can do this i’m pretty sure, the only requirement is that you HAVE to be in zerker build to do this. Necros have the pull skill, thieves are natural burst and also has a pull skill. Guardians have a few ccs, rangers have ccs+ high damage at range, engineers have some cc and decent dps with speced right, mesmers also good dps, I suggest turning off clone on dodge however.
Again, this is a big fail on Anet’s part to make grouping much harder than solo for this dungeon.
If you play your class effectively, you can be both… glass cannon or not.

Firstly, if your account was compromised as you stated, they banned your account in order to “protect you” i.e. limit further amount of damage. First thing you do is not to submit a post here but it is to submit a ticket in ask a question support tab. In the ticket, clearly detail what happened and if you don’t get a response in 3 days. You may now post up here along with your ticket number so they can look up on it.
Also in the future, just get straight to the point. The title is extremely misleading and the dev’s have to read through your entire text to really understand what your issue is.
As much as they may probably enjoy your support, you’re eluding it away from what is really important at hand here.

Something hit me while I was in WvW today, and that it, it feels like the amount of people in my server has greatly decreased. I’m on SoS btw. I used to remember running in wvw borderland and even at our weakest time, we still have a couple who are on. Nowadays, when I am on even during oceanic peak hours, there is very very little people even on. The zerg sizes lead by the commanders are much much smaller and the only time we ever get a queue on anywhere is right on reset.
I’ve observed similar things in PvE as well.
I know this could be various options other than people leaving. For example, they could have simply switched servers or just place less frequent, or play on different times as me or they’re doing the living story temporary contents, farming in the invasions and no longer playing other PvE or WvW content. But I seriously think that this game is actually losing players at this stage so I welcome anyone who gives me feedback on their server about whether or not they notice such an occurrence.
To keep it simple, I would just like a simple response of such:
Server: (your server)
WvW = Yes/no/same (Yes to I have noticed less people, No to I have seen more people and same as in no change)
PvE = Yes/no/same (Yes to I have noticed less people, No to I have seen more people and same as in no change)
Comment: (your thought on what you think the cause is, try keep it simple e.g. I think it’s just people farming invasion why everywhere else feels empty)

You are not going to get paid if you dont go to work.
I’m being punished because that free money, mystic coin, and karma you got from the daily makes my gold less valuable due to inflation, therefore I am being punished.
Getting ascended gear in fractal does not harm you and is only beneficial to the person wielding it and cause no harm to others.
In that logic, you are being punished by any player who puts more time and earns more money than you.
I like market manipulation because it doesn’t affect me and it’s interesting to see how much people are willing to pay for this overpriced piece of junk lol

It doesn’t matter if you keep increasing numbers on random skills and increase radius of some other skills, the problems with the ele lie deep in the design concept.
Arcana trait line requirement to play the class
You promoted this profession as highly versatile..but you want us to invest 45% of the available trait pts in a specific line in order to play the profession
Your original concept was a profession able to switch to the right attunement at the right time, but that concept idea never really got implemented, for obvious marketing reasons ( all the illegitimate QQ on unofficial forums ) you decided to change each attunement into something you simply stay for few secs rather than use it at the right time.
The auto-attack on each attunement on every weapon set( save lightning whip ) is so pathetically low ( lowest across all professions ) that to stay into a single attunement ,for more than the necessary time to cast that specific skill, becomes counter-productive and can lead to a quick demise ( main reason why the current conjure design concept suck ..sorry to say that..again) .
After the round of nerfs you conveniently changed the description of the ele from :" use the right element at the right time" to " rotate through your elements to obtain same results as other professions"
Stop lying pls..quite few people realize why you did those changes, the truth is all of you devs understood how stupidly OP was the design of the ele , if the ele would have been left as it was…fewer people would have bought the game right?!
So you started introducing one weakness after the other and the result was the so much complained profession in September : low base HP, low base armor, low base stats, very high CD on skills ( highest among all professions )
The ele community found itself forced to use extremely high defensive builds in order to play the class at all, any buff request completely ignored on the contrary of nerf requests which were openly taken in consideration.
Now I’m not here to ask for more buffs, we’ve have been at it for months , over 1 year really..I’m too tired to fight a pointless battle.
I feel sorry for the Devs, I fully realize that they actully care a lot for the game and try their best..but they simply lack the necessary resources; I consider the elementalist design a disaster, many good ideas but poorly implemented, the profession is unfun to play, not matter how many times I win..there are no easy fights, even somebody who installed the game the other day can potentially beat me if I lose my concentration for a single instant.
To play an ele is extremely intensive, you need to pay attention to basically anything..to avoid a quick death, no mistakes allowed, a single mistake and 3/4 of your HP are gone.
The profession doesn’t need buffs..it needs a complete revalutation, it would require a great deal of resources that now I realize the Devs lack, therefore I’d say that it’s wise to really give up on this profession

Why are people complaining about good loot. Is it because you don’t have time to do these events as much as other people and you’re selfish so you want these guys not to have the ability to do these kind of things too because putting more time in the game and getting rewarded more is unfair.

Seriously, these are the only two kinds of people I can imagine who “dislikes” good loot on world bosses.
What is “the wrong reason to do a world event”. I ran into a world even by chance and did it. Is that a wrong reason to do it? Should I have gathered my hatred over days and days, sworn revenge for my dead parents who sent me to the circus at a young age and waited day and night for jormag to spawn only to kill him and loot that corpse full of wonderful blue items which the generous merchant bought off me for 70c.
It’s no good. I have trouble recommending this game to anyone at this stage.
I didn’t do a perfect run here, got a bit messy later on, but it’s totally possible to run it a lot cleaner than that.
While it’s probably possible to do this with any zerker class, warrior is probably the easiest way to go if you have one.
First thing, starting position:
You start off on the left side where the first 6 plunders spawn. With a warrior using either 100b and a few auto atks and maybe a rifle you should be able to burst them down pretty quick. While doing this, one of two vet mobs may spawn out depending on your chance so it is vital that you stay as far as possible from them as you can.
Usually where the plunder spawns on the left side is SOMEWHAT safe but don’t count on it.
Okay, now when the right plunder (the first one) spawns. DONT go for it straight away. Almost ALWAYS wait for it to run back. The key is to time it JUST right so that when you use your rifle skill 3 and finish off with 100b you DON’T aggro any mobs. The plunder has maybe 2 seconds it linders BEFORE it triggers the loot being dropped, so it should give you plenty of time to pull of a 100b to stop him from lowering your loot count thingy.
Right and left plunder after awhile should be pretty easy, occasional strikers will spawn, make sure you DON’T aggro them. if you do don’t worry, just run as far back as you can WELLL out of range. DON’T cut it short by going maybe here is enough, rather lose the 500, make sure the striker is running it’s way back and quickly come bak and catch up to your plunders. Ideally, if done right, you shouldn’t pull any mobs. The spawn rate is somewhat random so sometimes you can get a bad spawn wher a striker or grenadier kinda lingers at the right plunder and you have to go for the kill and quickly run back. Okay, when the 3rd plunder spawns, this is where things get a bit tricky, it’s totally possible to kill all 3 but sometimes at least one of the spawns become seemingly impossible to get to. This is usually the right one, you should have at least 2000 points left at this stage and well under 2 minutes. So the plan is again, to kill either the left or middle one and let one of them run there and back. During that time, you should be able to pick off the right one safely. After you’ve done that, the middle one should be almost back and you can pick him off too. Rinse and repeat until finished. near the end it get’s a bit nerve wrecking, if you’re around 30 seconds, you can be slightly reckless if you wish, the skills I chose to use was dolyak signet signet of might and throw bolas. The food I recommend is crit and power food with sigils of force. i didn’t have either the food or the sigils cause I was lazy and poor though.
What I usually recommend doing is pull out rifle use skill 3 then immediately change to GS and kill with 100b.
Got some of this stuff off an older post I had up but now i got a video attached to it. I ran this a few times, the cleanest run I had I finished with about 2000, unfortunately I didn’t video that one.
This was a solo run since it was a lot easier this way. However, if a group has enough synergy to run back and kill as efficiently as one player can coordinate with himself, then it is possible to do this as a group too.

FYI, they did not just forget to leave the doors and windows open for me to peek in, they opened them up, then started dressing and throwing their stuff up to their lawn.
The language filter is turned on by default.
My point being, they turned them off, then got offended by my language which would be blocked automatically otherwise. And then anonymously reported me and kittened over my weekend.
Just fyi, your language was most likely directed at a person to get banned for foul language. It’s usually offensive language, and targeted at individuals. Try not to call people you kitten kitten kitten and learn to be constructive.
