Who plays WvW only?

You guys just figuring out how out of touch Mike is? Last year Reyana asked him about having guild commander tags and Mike thought it was a great idea, only he had no idea people were asking for it the past 2 years. That’s why I didn’t believe a word about his thread about more communication lol.

I mainly run wvw that is all I bought this game for from release, I have no choice but to run silverwastes or world bosses for gold, because of how terrible wvw loot is. I don’t spvp anymore, I don’t enjoy fighting broken unbalanced specs, wvw gives me options to deal with that at least. I don’t run dungeons, and only fractals when some friends are bored and want to do a quick run.

P.S I’ve hardly been running wvw in the last couple weeks because I’ve gotten tired of the broken crap from the last major patch that screwed up damage for good, oh and gg on golem week that should scare off half the players to something else.

Slowly but surely I am moving from being angry to just not caring anymore.

/shrug I’m already at that point. Just really no point anymore.

But yeah golem week, the entire week of exploits and not even 1 post about it, but exploits come up in pvp and they get right on it, hell they even shut down stronghold right away when they found the stealth bug. Makes me sick seeing that, but acceptance is washing over now.

The ppt’ers in T3 should transfer down to T4/5 and leave the gvg guilds to themselves in T3, just like the gvg guilds moved to T3 when the ppt’ers from T1 came to YB. Then watch them panic when one of the T3’s are at risk to drop in tiers.

P.S all gvg guilds shoulda moved to T8, you don’t have ppt and ppt players to worry about and can fight each other all day.

Remove stealth disruptor trap

Pfft wish they would make it instant cast instead. Stealth was designed terribly for this game, what’s worse is the game released without any hard counters to it because they obviously didn’t think it would be abused as much as has, like 1 thief trolling an entire zerg in capture rings and all they could do was throw aoes everywhere, or now the ghost thief which is in stealth 99% of the time.

If you can get rewards in the game then why would you spend $100 a month in the gem store?

I think people including Anet needs to step off this mentality when it comes to rewarding gameplay. How exactly does screwing with reward drops make anyone satisfied enough with the game to want to spend money in the gem store? Shouldn’t it be the other way around?

Shouldn’t they be trying to make players happy enough that they would gladly “donate” money to buy more stuff from the gem store? When the game first came out my plan was to put in $20 every other month and use it to upgrade my account stuff, no different from paying a sub fee, I did it once right after release. But after the black lion chest at halloween con, plans for ascended items, and general lack of decent rewards for pretty much anything in the game, nerf after nerf of farms, I’ve changed my mind and I’ve never sunk another dollar into the game. I wonder how many others are in my shoes with this.

They apparently are only interested in the big fish to pay them for every costume and mini that comes out, but it would be so much better for them if even the average joe was plucking down $20 every other month rather than never(while still getting the big fish). You do that by giving appropriate rewards for the time spent, people are generally happy to walk away with even a bag full of blues and greens. You provide terrible rewards like the pavilion and people are not going to flock to the store to get their convenience and cosmetic items, just gives people another reason not to reward Anet either.

We have added some events to earn karma which you will not need for the new gear, be sure to check out the new jumping puzzle, there’s a couple chest stocked with blue items! As some of you may have already seen, we have also included a new PVE rank for players to accompany the new content – The Elitist! As you race up the dungeon level ranks, players from the lower ranks will begin to hold you back, be sure to keep inviting high ranked players to continue your ascent into the higher rankings of the dungeon! First one to 100 gets an achievement! We hope with this new direction that players from other mmos will feel right at home playing Guildwars 2!

Here is a question. Why was it rolled out without offering those other ways to obtain it? The exotic has all paths. This is a new tier afterall. So if you are trying to stay within your game framework, why only make it obtainable via a dungeon?

Probably because they wanted to force people to play the dungeon for loot this weekend. Although you can make back pieces from the wishing well, I mean mystic forge.

I agree they should have added in all the methods to obtain the new items as they did with exotics. This is one of the great things about the exotic tier, you can go about obtaining them however YOU want. I’m not really expecting anything for wvw for quite some time now, it’s not a priority for them.

People will now see what happens when you add in a new tier of better shinies, the older content will start to get less usage.

It’s a time gate. Anet put them in everything simply to keep people from blasting through guild hall construction on day 1.

There’s already a time gate with Aetherium. They could have used that alone to hold back the entire upgrade process, if they really didn’t want guilds blasting through it.

You know there’s a problem with the design when a developer comes out and tells you where the secret farm is to get the seeds everyday.

Depends. There are players who prefer a smaller setting, less players, the roamers and havoc crew basically. If you start taking away maps so it’s queue 24/7, you’re just not going to have much breathing room.

Also they’ve already made their bed in the homebl/ebg concept, only map to take out would be, and well that’s a no no. Like I said in another thread a while ago, I wish they had just went with all ebg concept maps instead, we wouldn’t been in the mess we are in with maps and it’s more flexible if you need to minus or add maps.

I love it
1. it shows most of the wvw players love to ktrain just like the Eotm players.
2. it shows most of the wvw players got no clue how to play without the orange sword, they been playing the easy mode for too long.

Really?
1. Most “wvw” players are taking the week off, attendance is down across all servers, so the only ones playing are the real ktrainers which are not many, and probably from eotm if they’re red or blue this week cause they want to avoid getting rotfstomped by green again.
2. Easy mode? LOL wtf are you talking about, going around pewpewing with a golem and the overcharge buff is easy mode, exploiting said buff when out of golems is easy mode. Ktraining in eotm is easy mode, there are various challenges in regular wvw.

You need to take your taxi off duty, you drunk.

How Long Should Polls be Managed?

Unlike the other polls, they sent mail to every wvw player with at least 10 ranks that leveled up a rank this week (active player). So yes 5 days is just fine, I know you’re one of those who voted no, but leaving it up for another 7 or so days wasn’t going to change the outcome. 82% voted yes, not 25, not 50, 82%.

They have the internal numbers on the votes, it was mentioned by one of the devs, they know who voted which way per server.

You might as well call for a recount instead of trying to come up with excuses why the numbers are wrong.

Positive thoughts

When I read these WvW forums it seems as though 90% think it’s awful, terrible, no fun and sheer misery.

On the other hand, when I log in to WvW day after day and listen to map/team/guild chat it’s maybe 10% complaining and 90% people seeming to be enjoying themselves.

Similarly, according to the forums, no-one plays WvW any more, everyone left and the game mode is dead. Yet when I play, as I do every day, and not even in NA prime either, I find a ton of people out doing stuff, commanders tagged up, zergs clashing, and structures changing hands.

Not saying everything is kittens and rainbows but it’s not all falling to pieces either.

What do you expect? If a person is not happy with the game they wouldn’t log into the game just to complain in chat, well most of them anyways, hence why you see 10% complaining and 90% seeming to enjoy themselves because they are in there to actually play.

Understand this, the forums is the place for feedback, it will obviously seem more negative because it’s mostly a place to discuss broken aspects of the game. Sub forums like wvw and spvp will be a little more negative because they cover focused groups of play, general forums is about everything in the game and wouldn’t be as negative unless it’s a heated topic, like legendary weapons being delayed.

It will become especially toxic at times when the developers don’t respond to pretty much anything posted, or they choose to post over to reddit instead. If it’s a one sided conversation people will get frustrated if they see their top issues are not even being considered, like now it’s class/skill balance.

As for “game mode is dead” look at the population from release, to HoT release, to now where we have links and half the matchups, look at how many commanders and guilds left now, if you’ve been playing wvw for 4 years you know the difference. The game mode is obviously dying, anet should at the very least be doing something to promote wvw and they don’t, that attention is on spvp and pve at the moment.

There have been many times I’ve posted ideas to try and help the game, but it feels like they never get seen, so why bother anymore? They did finally implement ideas like reward tracks, skirmish mode, ppk, and 211 scoring, but 90% of the last 4 years feels like they don’t bother reading these forums. You know the place they should be looking for problems with areas of their game and trying to make things better.

P.S The communication matter I would place squarely on Mo, it’s obviously he has it on lock down and that they won’t talk about future content or changes, so devs either can’t comment on stuff or they’re too scared to post and say the wrong thing.

Arenanet really has no clue on how to treat existing players.

Why did you just sell the base game for $10 then offer me the expansion and base game for $50 so I pay $60 in total when a new player gets to do the same now for $50?

Is there no one in the marketing department that thought hey let’s offer an exclusive right now to existing players $40 for pre-purchase just the expansion. If they want the extra exclusive perks or an alt account they can buy the other levels.

Bring Back the Desert Borderland!

They mentioned it when they were making eotm that it took them over a year to make it. I don’t know if they have a bigger wvw staff or more resources around these days but that’s the benchmark they gave. Maybe that was a case of them wanting to provide 3 distinct areas which took them longer to build it.

Maps reuse assets, that’s a given. I wouldn’t even mind if they took the pve maps and converted them to wvw maps, I think that would cool especially if it’s something that provide more maps for wvw on a shorter development time. But Anet prefers building new stuff from the ground up. Hell I wouldn’t even mind if they took ebg and alpine and made them into different themes, maybe even give a spring/summer/fall/winter update.

They have a lot on their plate these days, not even sure if they are even planning on another map, last one didn’t go over so well and is still being fixed.

P.S I would love to have more maps for options, I’m just staying away from those solutions because it will be some time before it happens. So stuff like extra bl or ebg with another theme, those are long term wishful thinking right now and stuff we can bring up when they actually have the extra maps.

The best solution for right now is what Tyler mentioned, 1 desert, 2 alpine, 1 ebg. Everyone gets the map they want every day, if the need for 2 desert 1 alpine comes it can easily be dealt with later.

How many Chars will you gear w/ ascended?

I don’t like the idea of ascended in what this game was suppose to be, especially the ways they choose to provide them, where’s the wvw alternative? Five 80’s with multiple weapons needed for each? and soon armor sets? and maybe legendary armors after? yeah I’m not grinding the gold out for that. I also haven’t done Tequalt since like the first week of his revamp and likely never will again so that route is also out.

Maybe you should go back and read it too, it would be a potential change if they felt skirmish didn’t do enough, and it would also be put to a poll.

Potential (controversial) additional change:

  • While the above change takes steps to bring the value of off-hours coverage in-line, there’s a good chance it’ll still be overvalued. If that’s the case (and we’ll eventually poll on this), then we have plans for an additional system.
  • This is the Action Level – Victory Point Multiplier system
    * This system would multiply the Victory Points awarded by Skirmishes based on map populations and time of day.
    * During prime time hours, the multiplier would always be at it’s maximum of 3.
    * During off hours, the multiplier might stay at 3 or drop to 2 or 1, depending on on activity level.
    * It’s important to include map populations as a factor, to make the system more fair for off hours players and its important to include time-of-day as a factor to prevent a winning team from trying to keep the score muliplier low by exiting WvW

I don’t think that change needs to be implemented ever, and I don’t think it will be needed anyways and that the skirmish scoring mode will be enough.

If it does come down to them wanting to make the change I feel that would be the last nail in the wvw coffin, as all they would be doing is just completely reversing the runaway scoring situation instead of balancing it. Instead of the off hours running the score up it’ll be the opposite side of players, which NA players will look at it and say yeah why shouldn’t we be scoring more? Because it’s a 24/7 game not a 4/7 game.

Equal scoring standards needs to be maintained in every time zone because of how unbalanced the population is hour to hour, scoring needs to remain as the one constant. I don’t mind handing out “bonus” points, but to sides that are outnumbered not who has the biggest zerg running.

P2W is usually in regards to pvp, the competitive side of games. It’s when you pay to gain an advantage(win) over others (class, spec, trait, talent, skill, potions, boosters etc.). Which directly affects other players in pvp (hence why you get complaints), while in pve it doesn’t (they don’t usually complain about it in those situations). If you want to argue about P2W for pve for stuff like say, stat boosters, then GW2 has always been P2W because boosters have been available on the gem store since day 1.

So in regards to this expansion being P2W? Absolutely, because in a lot of cases the elite specs are better than the vanilla specs with regards to pvp, and with free accounts, regular accounts, hot accounts all able to pvp together, it affects everyone. In pve who cares? they help you kill stuff faster. Other than raiding which imposes limits on players and classes, but then you need the expansion to raid, so you have access to all those specs anyways.

P2W has also in some regard entered WvW, because of the elite specs and also guild hall upgrades for stuff such as the new dragon banner. Mind you those can be set so that anyone has access to them at the claimed structure, so it’s not that bad.

I’m sure at some point Anet will balance them out, I’m sure that’s always the goal, well after they sell as much expansion boxes as they can anyways. But given that it’s 9 new elite specs, 1 entirely new class (and they’ve never managed to balanced the original specs in the first place), I don’t expect that to happen anytime soon if ever, so pvp and wvw will always be semi broken with class balance.

At least in other games the players with the new toys have to go higher in levels, and therefore end up in a different areas and brackets that doesn’t affect the rest who didn’t get the expansion.

Currently WvW uses the same skills as PvE, so PvP balance changes do not have an impact on WvW.

Really should start labeling changes on the patch notes as spvp changes rather than just pvp to avoid confusion.

At this point Anet should just make another eotm map based on the hunger games style plain forest arena with a lake in the middle and no structures. Last side standing, when you die you spawn into another instance of the map instead.

That’s all the supposed pvp’ers are asking for these days it seems, a place for them to hit 1 and collect loot bags since they can’t be bothered with structures or siege or points. Bonus loot if you figure out how to break the ceiling before the other side is dead.

Why not keep it in the game forever? I never understood this…

Because then players will play it till they’re ghost white and get all the skins and never return to it, other than new achievements. Unless they take out selling the skins and just have them as random drops, like fractals.

Probably would be best if they left it as a limited time april fools holiday event every year.

Morale is the single most powerful win in this game. If you make the enemy grow bored, tired, angry, etc and quit, then you gain more on this than any other way of fighting the enemy.

Yeah indeed it is, but it’s too bad most will go to the “make them bored” route to try and break their enemies morale, instead of the “double team” like JQ TC did once upon a time in a tournament. Since trying to make your opponent bored will take a longer amount of time and not to mention probably bore your side out as well, while as the other way keeps everyone actively playing with a purpose.

Guess the only way that would ever change is if anet implements mechanics for it. Maybe that suggestion someone had of doing bounties on the enemy could help in this regard, or in the catch up mechanics maybe earn 2x more points for owning structures of the current points leader. But dunno would be nice if players could come to that focus on their own.

NPE Feedback [Merged] - Please read 1st post

Actually the wow player pool is exactly where they should be looking for players, where else would you find 10 million players already interested in mmos? I’ve played many mmos and wow for many years, including a one month stint with the latest expansion after a 3 year break from it. I’m back to playing GW2 for wvw, I’m sure there are others like me who can play GW2 without the wow mindset, I also know of a friend who can’t play anything else without the wow mindset. Both types of players exist and it’s really not the best interest of GW2 to ignore wow players entirely.

That doesn’t mean killing the uniqueness of GW2 and dumbing down the systems. I just recently leveled a new thief to 80 through the NPE and I still think the NPE is terrible compared to the old system, the new pacing and rewards did not seem to be better especially with the new trait system. How many actual true newbie mmo players do you really think GW2 will get now? over something else as big as wow? Many of the GW1 players who wanted to try GW2 probably have at this point already too. The NPE systems was a complete waste of dev time, some things needed to changed sure, but not the entire leveling experience.

(Idea) NPC bounty system

I do think a bounty system, which has been mentioned in the past, would be something cool to add. What I don’t want the bounty system to do is attract pve players to just come in wvw to pve. I wouldn’t attach it to any of the champ npcs like the grub. I would however attach it to enemy players, keep and tower lords. They would be like a hybrid dailies/wvw guild missions in a way.

Since jon mentioned the centaur and skritt, to make them more useful, just turn them into their counterparts in ebg, dredge ogres frogs. Capture their areas and have them wander around the entire map beating down enemy places, the ebg ones should do that as well instead of just beating the camps. Remember when the quaggan use to hit up hills? XD I would also make them slightly more powerful, like HoT updated creature power.

WvW skirmishes Sept 9th!

SO what a servers need to do is ktrain the most empty BL and expect at that momment to score war points faster than the other 2 server?

And that doesn’t already happen? The point of the skirmish scoring is to stop the 10-15k overnight scoring that ruins matches even on the first night. So you got 10k in score the other two servers only got 4k and 2k, here’s your 3, 2, 1 points.

Also now commanders can take a 2 hr slot and try to make a push for points which can make a difference.

Also if anyone decides to give up playing because they’re going to lose a 2hr skirmish you might as well give up on the game, plus they’re a bunch of underdunders since matches right now have servers that are determined to be last from the start of reset and yet you still play.

Lastly, while it’s nice to finally have this out…. wake me up when combat becomes fun again.

You guys should compare WoW expansion reveal to HoT, or even ff14 heavensward. Most of MMORPG are vague about their expansion too, there are no weekly live stream about the content neither weekly detailed blog post. Just check wow MoP reveal page, all they did are listed features and a very short portion of the reveal video and that’s pretty much it. How much more do you guys want? Anet won’t tell you every detail neither but that’s the same with every game expansion ever. People are having ridiculous expectations and it bothers me.

Except WoW announces their expansion almost a year before it’s released, they usually included a lot of new content, a lot of which they point out with the announcement. A lot of players get into the alpha/beta phases which are not even under NDA and you even get to see player streams of gameplay months before the expansion is released.

So essentially only two guild groups will get to play on a map in prime time(if they even get enough players past the pugs), and the rest will have to go to eotm to get their wvw fix?

This suggestion has been brought up before and for the reason to force players and guilds to spread out more into the lower servers, which at one point I agreed to. But I think it’s a little late to do that, as I think wvw players are at the point that if you do anything negative to that part of the game, players will seriously start to leave instead.

Even if you reduce the caps now people will continue to zerg, it’s still more efficient and quicker to take towers and keeps that way. If you want to hurt the karma train then need to do something about their supply gains. If you want to hurt the zerg busters then hurt their tagging and bagging, urieldhynne.2743 is on the right track. Raise the percentage damage for required tagging for reward, other games have it set to 50% damage instead of one hit for tags, you will see how fast people move back to smaller groups because less people to fight over tagging.

TC had stacked their way to T1 and outnumbered pretty much everyone along the way. And then, while not linked, it was left open for transfers after the new linkings. Population isn’t it’s disadvantage.

DB is winning because it is playing to win – havoking, protecting its thirds, and maximizing the principles of mass, maneuver and economy of force.

You say that like TC weren’t in t1 for over 2 years before. Yeah they had dropped into t2 for a short period while guilds moved around, but after the first links it was enough to bring them back to t1 as JQ started to falter and then DB dropped out of t1 before they went back up to replace YB. DB has also been open for transfers longer than BG TC JQ, who got stacked again?

DB is winning because of coverage and probably more pug commanders (that’s kinda obvious by now isn’t it?), and yes pvding and back capping when they can. I say this as my main account is sitting on DB.

4 Servers Full manually?

For population balance reasons, we’ve lowered the population thresholds for a world to be considered ‘Full’. This is to keep the population disparity between high pop and low pop servers more similar.

You can’t possibly be counting ONLY people who are playing WvW and you should be by now.

YB against six servers? Anet isn’t playing its own game so it can’t possibly see the inequities in any time zone or server.

This is just plain ridiculous to lock YB when we are nowhere near ‘full’ in reality.

Let us know when you count the WvW populations only, that’s when your ‘metrics’ and algorithms will finally make some sense.

Right now, they do not.

Dragonbrand +Anvil Rock, Borlis Pass = 11 points
Stormbluff Isle +Sanctum of Rall, Eredon Terrace = 13 points
Yak’s Bend = 12 points

In the most balanced matchup so far. Maybe people need to stop freaking out so early on how many servers they’re up against, they all obviously don’t have the same population hence why they need to be linked to others.

I’m surprised YB was one of those locked, but maybe they have more wvw players than people realize.

They also count population by wvw activity not entire server population since like august 2015, what qualifies as wvw activity whether it’s 1 hour or 10 hours per week well who knows but anet.

And once again: Elite Specs is not the only thing coming with the expansion.

Not everyone will be taking Revenant as their main, there’s 8 other classes in the game, 4 elites revealed, time to reveal the rest already, why leave players of the other 4 just hanging for so long? The rest of the expansion stuff can be revealed anytime after since it’s information for everyone.

@OP I feel like we’re wearing the same shoes.
I’ve played since the beta weekends, took a 6 month break after the ascended news broke, which went against what they said were going to do for the game. Came back and spent most of the my time in WvW.

The game is getting more toxic because anet is putting more elements into the game that splits from their original design. When you put in more exclusive content like 10 man raids, that forces players to only take the best class the best spec the best players, it invites and promotes a competitive attitude with it that will spread into other sections of the game.

When you introduce failing events as a way to progress you introduce a split on how players have played this game for 3 years, they promoted playing together in events with participation and no “kill stealing” involved, and ressing players to help you. Then you introduce meta’s like TD which I also have never seen succeed, and I’ve even ferried into organized maps to try, the only way I will be able to do that map is to join up with a TTS group doing it, much like triple trouble.

Then you run into the players in map chat who get it done and think it’s fine, learn to play, git gud etc. I’m sure there’s a lot of players who don’t even bother with that map anymore because frankly who cares it’s not worth the trouble, it’s the worse out of the 4 new maps. Yes Auric basin is my favorite as well.

The RNG issue, all over the place with that one. I have a friend who use to get a couple exotics and a bunch of rares every single fractal run, for me, I’d be lucky to get 1 exotic a week and they had less magic find than me. Never got a precursor, and I know of people who have gotten 3 or 4 of them.

I noticed when I went away for a month and came back, the first few days seemed like my account got a magic find boost cause I picked up a few exotics from that, maybe new accounts get the same “effect”. One of my friends who got his account banned for a week, came back and noticed that they weren’t getting good drops anymore. I’m sure there isn’t a system in place for all this, but it just “really” feels/seems like there is.

I’m also annoyed with the mastery points. I skipped all the living story achievements for a reason (because I really didn’t want to redo it all over again, how about giving me access to the achievements the first time I go through it), and now I will be forced to do them if I want to progress in the mastery lines. I’m annoyed with the adventures, in much of the same reason I don’t like jumping puzzles, I didn’t sign up for super mario brothers.

Not to mention the jump function in this game is not very responsive against edges and it drives me nuts, if I’m pushing against a ledge in front of me I have to slam my spacebar in order to jump, or stop jump then push forward. But you really only need to go that far into mastery if you are going to do the new legendary crafting.

I know some of the reasoning in forcing players to do certain parts of the game is trying to promote that part of the game, like trying to get pve players into wvw or spvp, and vice versa for those other modes. But if players were interested in the other areas they would try it on their own, we don’t need to be “forced” into the other areas of the game. While achievements were always the light reward in dabbling in other areas, masteries are now the heavy handed way to push you into them, creating more annoyances and frustration with the game.

My other frustrations come from WvW and Guildshalls, and the attention Spvp is getting right now, yup I’m jealous. They’ve destroyed WvW for me, but meh whatever at the end of the day, it’s just a game, and Anet can destroy it however they want. In the meantime I’m working on my very first legendary, an old one not the new one cause well precursor bought vs crafted is another good anet joke…
I’ll just have to keep my eye out for something else as well.

Or he’s a smart pug that chooses to target the enemy leader instead of just pressing 1 in the lemming zerg. The commander is on the field like everyone else, they’re fair game, they have to take steps to protect themselves from damage. They’re not the only ones that get focused in a fight either, there use to be gank groups that targeted the range groups in zergs. You don’t hear eles or necros coming in here complaining about it, they have to suck it up, position themselves better and use what they have for survival, the same goes for a commander.

If Anet is keen to keep WvW going, then I think they should do more to broadly encourage PvE players to try WvW (not just those seeking Gifts for Legendary weapons). Currently, there is so much open world content in PvE, that I suspect many newer PvE players are unaware of the competitive play experience.

That’s what I been saying, not enough promotion from anet for wvw other than the screwups, meanwhile look at what spvp has gotten in that department over the past 2 years.

The only way you are going to destack servers now is to make new WvW servers . You can do this while preserving the current servers as PvE servers and make players choose an additional server to play WvW that is based on WvW population and show the cap and the current population as players choose the servers to ensure their guild can fit on the server they are selecting.

Large guilds and alliances will be forced to move to empty servers to be able to fit at all. If a player doesn’t log into WvW for more than 2 weeks they are dropped from WvW population and have to reselect their WvW server when they log in to block blackouts that allow for server stacking. Make everyone reselect WvW server every 3 months and it will keep it fresh.

I like this idea much more than a reset that randomly throws everyone around and then letting them transfer again.

It’s a good alternative to disconnect the original servers from wvw, and try to place players in a more even fashion onto new servers or factions if they wanted to do that. They wouldn’t even need to run this permanently at first, if they wanted they could do it as a week event once a month to see how it works out, like a cough tournament.

Let players sign up a week ahead for a side, and then make sure the system keeps it even, set signup caps until all 3 sides meet it then raise it again until the cut off time, so set it to 100 and when 100 have signed up on all 3 sides, raise it to 200 and so on. Or as you say show the numbers and caps so large guilds can pick emptier servers to place their guild in.

Wvw Populations?

But yes if the activity tracker is as low as 5mins for the day, then it needs to be changed.

Eotm isn’t counted, but the problem there is those players that go to eotm are still on the server for the next week, so the system can’t just instantly open up for a server because they all decide to spend a week in eotm or take it off entirely. It needs a period of time to do comparisons to set the activity.

I think TC will probably open in the next few days as the system compares their activity the last few weeks.

3rd BL Map suggestion (with "drawing")

When you’re creating maps keep some things in mind.
There needs to be 3 ways out of a spawn for every side.
There needs to be an equal amount of camps, towers, keeps as the other borderlands, so it provides the same total ppt.
Every capture area needs to have a purpose attached to them, whether it’s keeps that hold your spawn points, or towers that allow you to siege other structures or provide buffs or give access to other areas.
Need some open areas to promote fights, even tunnels and lane ways should be big enough for a zerg to run through and not have things like the camera be obstructive, ebg has a lot of good examples of these.

Why do players lump the Traits revamp in with the NPE? So odd.

I believe they were done at the same time for the chinese release? but it was staggered for na. Given the time between the revamps (5 months) I really don’t think they were developed separately but were intended to be together as a full revamp from level 1-80.

Not really a prediction when players have been bleeding out of wvw for years now. Only one event really saw a huge dip in active players for wvw in a very short period of time, and that was the release of the expansion which brought a lot of other problems not just the new map.

WvW skirmishes Sept 9th!

It’s September 12th, 2016 and the skirmishes are not working for me.

We’re outnumbered on all BL and our scores will never catch up to the other BL simply because our server(s) do not have enough population to make up against the other servers. As a matter of fact our score has never been able to catch up to anything since day one.

Unless we are given super-powers on our BL so we can stand a chance to cap a single thing I don’t see the point otherwise. Forget about the new point system.

You weren’t going to be better off in the old system if you’re outnumbered in every map, that’s a server population issue, not a scoring one.

Maybe it’ll be different with the catch up mechanics in place, if they intend to implement it still anyways.
