Here’s a tool someone pointed me to.
https://www.gw2bltc.com/en/tool/dye/search
Look up the dye you want, click on the eyedropper next to it’s name and it’ll show similar dyes by nearest RBG.
Clover seems to be similar in color for cloth and leather. However emblazed reflects light differently. It’s darker, a bit more orange and mottled, like there’s a lacquer on it. You can look it up on the TP and right click preview to see it. The starter Autumn is also close.

Hi there!
I don’t know where to post this else.
Just a message addressed to the Developer/Publisher:
I would absolutely pay money for kind of a ‘skin pack’ to turn the Necromancer pets into skeletons.
Thanks for reading!
There’s absolutely no reason for Anet rush anything because of Archeage. AA has been it’s own demise since release from Alpha stage.
I played Alpha. It was the most fun I’ve had in a long time of playing MMO games. If that game went the route of GW2 with it’s item mall, I probably would still be there. However, Xlgames really did kill themselves in the western market by becoming a P2W game.
I certainly won’t look back.
Exactly that. I played GW2 since launch, after 4 legendaries i had enough of the grind and wanted a break. Tried AA since beta and i remember i was like woooow so much fun im gonna play this for a while. After 8 months i quit AA super disappointed and after more than half my friends have quit it to go Black Desert,GW2 and several other games. Now i came back to GW2 and after all this time my gears are still on par with other people no reason to super grind or stress about things i missed. It reminded me what a great game GW2 is and will always be. Bought HOT expansion and my body is ready for it when it comes. I wont ever go back to AA again no matter what they do.
Try typing capital I enza, as it is impossible to create a character whose name begins with a lower-case letter.
Good luck.
For now you can get around the bug by activating the booster before you enter HoTM. They stack so you can use multiples to save going back an forth to LA. From your post it sounds like you already figured that out, but maybe this will help others.
People like to poke fun at Logan for running away from the fight with Kralkatorrik, but really, wasn’t it Snaff that didn’t have the guts to finish the fight?
I’m pretty against it.
I’ll use an example why. When I pug I bring a build (skills, traits and gear) that is 90% zerker. For the rest I bring a bit of increase in group healing. The reason is that some pug’s are bad and I want to come prepared. I prefer to have a smooth run, but want to be able to save the day when we don’t. The lack of dps is extremely small and people normally don’t notice that im not 100% zerker cause of my dps output.
With an inspection option it would mean that people with not a clue how my build work, judge it as bad, just cause it is not 100% zerker. Even having it optional (declining it) would still mean it changes the allready elitism in pugs in an even more negative way.
So no. If you want to know what I’m using ask me nicely and I likey tell you.
Arise, opressed of Tyria!
The ideal system, at least since megaservers were introduced, would be for players to not even need to choose a server until they enter WvW.
(Even better if, when they do come to choose they’re presented with the relevant information, or at least a link to the leaderboards, so they can make an informed choice. Right now it’s a matter of either taking advice from friends or guessing based on the names and stated populations of the server.)
Edit: Unless you’re in Europe and prefer to speak Spanish, in which case you have a grand total of 1 choice.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
I’m a relatively “end-game” player. Roughly 5400 hours have seen me crossing and re-crossing Tyria.
Recently, I’ve been looking to get or build my second legendary, The Incinerator.
Here’s my point; I could easily choose to buy the gems and buy the pretty dagger. The problem isn’t finance it’s the principle of the thing. Speculation has driven the price to something like 300 USD.
That’s just insulting. So, I gameplay for the money. It’s slower, but I don’t feel like I’m being ripped off.
So, ANET loses the money from that transaction. I’d spend 100 USD for a vanity item, but 300 is just beyond the pale for a video game.
In high school history class we would have called this a case of “elastic demand.”
My suggestion; ANET should cap trading post prices to nerf speculation. This will ultimately increase micro transactions and serve the game by keeping prices reasonable.
Hiya. My suggestion is that once you get to college, take some Micro and Macro Economics. I don’t know if it’s mandatory at all colleges, but if it isn’t, it should be. These two classes help teach students the basics of the Law of Supply, the Law of Demand, Shifts and Movements, and other core concepts of the market economy.
Now onto your argument. There are a lot of assumptions you’re making that aren’t accurate. I’ll break them down:
- 1) Not many people buy large quantities of Gems to convert to Gold. This is due to how the Gem Conversion ratios work. If a lot of people did this, the Gold to Gem rates would be much much much lower.
- 2) Not many people buy Legendary weapons directly from the TP. A lot of people will buy Precursors and then make their own.
- 3) Speculation isn’t what drives the prices of luxury goods. It’s Supply and Demand. There’s too much risk in investing in Precursors to profit, seeing as how Precursor crafting is coming. One of my Precursor’s value dropped by 35%, and I ended up selling it cheap just to get it out of my bank.
- 4) You’ve come up with a solution to your problem, not the economy’s. You want a luxury good that you can’t afford, so you wish to have the price lowered. Fair enough. But in doing so, you’ll wreck the marketplace. The Trading Post is a self contained entity that’s ever moving 24/7. Players can buy and sell goods at prices they see fit. By putting artificial caps on prices, you want Anet to fully control the market, and turn the TP into a glorified merchant. This school of thought is what brought down the Soviet Union. The global economy is in a good place at the moment, so there’s no real need to mess with it.

Tomorrow's PoI: What do you want to know about Pact Commander masteries?

Just swinging by to say thanks to all of you for participating in this thread. Josh and I sat down together for about an hour this afternoon and went through the entire thread.
You brought up a number of points we already had in the PoI show notes, so we were happy to see that we were on the same page there, but you also gave us more things to discuss, clarify, and think about for tomorrow. My goal was to make tomorrow’s PoI more valuable and informative for the people watching it. Those of you who posted good, constructive stuff helped with that, so… thanks for pitching in. (Sorry, I’ve been spending a lot of time in the Silverwastes lately.)
I hope to do this with future episodes too, if you all find it useful.
I have an…idea. I don’t know if the tech even exists for this yet, but may as well mention it.
Gravity well would cause an aoe pulling effect. This effect would not interact with stability at all, it wouldn’t cause a disable. Instead, it would be as if you were on a treadmill that was pointed towards the center of the aoe area. This effect would scale up towards the center, so if you were at the outside, you could just walk out reasonably easily. If you got to the very center, it would be pulling you faster than normal running, so you’d have to dodge and then walk out. At the end, the normal float.
This way it’s still an interesting suction, but doesn’t actually lock you with hard cc.
What I don’t understand is why is it needed in the first place?
- All your other armor works just fine underwater why doesn’t your helm?
- Oh and let’s not go down the “The breather allows you to breath underwater” road.
Take your breather off its equipment slot and put it in your bag inventory, now jump into the water. Guess what, you breath juuuust fine.
We all know what I’m about to say: Mantras are again “meh”. And I have to agree they were kinda ridiculous with this so called “bug” that the cd started after channeling instead of using the last charge. But right now (and I’m sure I’m not the only one) I feel like a little child that had his pacifier replaced with a lollypop and now vice versa again
The problem is, that this pacifier was very disgusting and the lollypop too sweet. I’d prefer a dental care candy instead
Not lets stop the metaphoric stuff and come to the point: Mantas need some love, something like pre “fix” but not that hard.
Mantra of Recovery
Now this one has the biggest issue imo. It has a 10 sec cd and heals and cleanses conditions. The problem with it is: Why would you EVER leave a charge or two left? You will have terrible consequences when you leave the last charge for a condi cleanse but then use it and see that there is a 10 sec cd on it! You will always be forced to use all the stacks in pvp and only in pve you may be able to use stack for stack for condi cleanses, but even then it’s a dangerious game.
Mantra of Pain
Sub … yea you’re fine Have a nice day!
Mantra of Distraction and Mantra of Concentration
Those are actually fine. You don’t feel forced to spam them through because you need the heal or something. But the main problem here is again – why leaving one charge? Why two if you got some time to run (pve) or feel safe for a moment (pvp)? It’s again the fear of the long cd, this is the major problem of all mantras.
Mantra of Resolve
Same as the two above – but additionaly this mantra became kinda obsolete compared to the healing mantra and power cleanse. I suggest we also add a few seconds of resistance here for the pvp sake!
The solution I suggest here is that manta cd start to run, after using a charge, but only a part of it! For example if you have a Mantra with 30 sec cd, and use all charges, you have 30 sec cd. When you use one charge, the cd reduces by 1 sec per sec (ofc) until 20 sec. Now spamming the other two charges leaves you with 20 sec cd! If you would have only one charge left, It’d be 10 sec cd.
TL;DR:
The cd should be per charge and not for the whole mantra. If you want a cheaper solution to program: Just reduce the CD to 0 again and weaken the healing mantra a bit, since it honestly was the only op one of all mantras.
Right now they feel so weak again and I enjoyed the not glamour pve play and the not shatter only pvp play.
“Mentoring engineers / mesmers and showing you what you can do with your fantastic class!
Just pm me for my advice! Always eager to help!”
The class you enjoy the most give the most easy and fast leveling experience.
You don’t even notice how fast it is to hit lv80 with your enjoyable class, but you will notice how slow it is if you don’t enjoy the class.
Obviously, the ‘vast majority’ of players (or a representative section that use the forums) didn’t read this thread, because it seems most (who did) don’t agree that Bag Slots are a necessity.
I’ve never bought one, nor plan to. I don’t even have all 20-, 18- or even 15-slot bags on all my characters. It’s easy to pop into HotM, WvW, use a Royal or Airship Pass, or pop one of the stacks of Personal Merchant or Banker consumables many have collected over the months.
Whether I/we agree or disagree about the cost/value of the slots, I don’t think the price will be lowered (except during the occasional sale). And…as many have noted, the cost is exactly the same as at launch. Any Gold-to-Gem conversion, at whatever rate, is still free!
bags are probably more of a necessity than a luxury item. Makes sense to make them expensive. Though they cost as much as when the game started. In money. Buy them with cash or convert your grind. Simple as that.
Bags are a necessity, and we are given enough bag slots to have 100 inventory slots without having to buy a single extra slot. Extra bag slots are definitely more along the lines of a luxury item.
The reward is not from the story step (that box is always blank and only rewards experience). It’s from a new achievement in the Hero category called “I’ve Seen Things” and gives Scarlet’s Secret Stash and 5 AP.
So yes, it’s an intentional once per account thing. Probably because it’s just watching a cinematic that they didn’t want it to be over-rewarding. Though I do wish it was a reward for the story step and not the achievement.
Stop treating GW2 as a single story. Each Season and expansion should be their own story.
Someone re-posts this video every 6 months and whines about how it’s not anything like what they proposed. Even though some of it is contextually true they still made a game better than I imagined. Furthermore this is the only game that I log into and abruptly think wow kitten this is a pretty kitten game.
What is the process to cancel a pre-order?

Sorry; I hate bullet-point lists. When I lay out an idea I want to get the reasoning and logic behind it out there as well – any idjit can post a random suggestion, but in my mind it’s the idjits who can actually back it up and provide a good reason why it’s both beneficial and necessary is in a better place.
And any “idjit” can mash his keyboard into walls of text too… The point is that you need to format your post into something visually strong. We aren’t having a verbal conversation here, so you can’t just ramble. We use our eyes to parse the information on a forum, not our ears. An unbroken stream of information is not ideal here.
Good writing technique involves breaking things up into paragraphs roughly 5 sentences long. You must also avoid “run on” sentences. The average human has a short term memory span of roughly 7 seconds OR roughly 7 items. If you want someone to remember something they read more than 7 sentences ago, it needs to have been concise and easy to parse, otherwise they have to go back and re-read it.
Any good idea worth it’s time can be condensed into bullet points. It helps readers to understand your idea if you give them the bullets, then explain them in further detail in paragraphs. After all, we aren’t writing Shakespeare here. This is a “hang out” for people to trade ideas. Communication must be made clear and quick, because there are hundreds of other threads and only so much time in the day to read them.
I find it useful, if you see a message like that to just post after it in map chat “not this old scam again”. I’ve not bothered reporting the person saying it so far, I figure it’s more valuable to educate the map.
pve, raid, pvp, fractal, dungeon, world clearing, legendary questing.. Zapped!
I like how people keep saying that Trahearne stole credit from the player character.
He didn’t steal anything, in fact he makes it Perfectly clear that he owes everything to the Player character, on multiple occassions. It’s just that the rest of the world seems to think he’s the big shot of the two of you.
It’s poor writing decisions that doesn’t cast enough limelight on the Player Character, if anything.
Also the fact that they try and make a Hero out of a guy who has SUPPORTING CHARACTER written on his forehead. I mean Trahearne is meek, reticent, scholarly and in no ways an actual fighter. There’s absolutely nothing wrong about the character in itself, but rather how that character is presented and the role he’s given. Trahearne’s the guy who should be barely holding his own against the big, scary enemy, succumbing to fatigue just as the Player Character comes around and tags him out, letting Trahearne pass out and rest while you personally proceed to kick copious amounts of behind. Sometimes, though, the writers got it all backwards instead.
Me? I’m personally happy that Trahearne was willing to deal with all the administrative stuff so that my Pact Commander can go out picking flowers, stomping rabbits to see if I can break 1.000.000 damage, dress up in a pink skirt and run around the Reach tossing rose petals at people, finally take some time to practice that awesome choir bell solo I dreamt about and generally be a total schtickwaffle to anything remotely resembling a quaggan when it happens to come my way.

Four possibilities:
(i) Your trying to deposit items that are account or soulbound, which you can’t deposit in a guild bank only in your own ‘personal’ account bank.
(ii) You just created the guild and its first tier bank storage, but its less than three days old and the bank storage hasn’t actually finished building yet.
(iii) Your trying to deposit into one guild bank while representing another.
(iv) A bug/client corruption, meaning you need to submit a support ticket and wait for a response – or try a repair of the client.
Hope these suggestions help and good luck.
1. It generates influence.
Influence is a currency to not only upgrade the guild, but also fund one-time upgrades, buy missions, WvW and PvE boosts, etc.2. It’s only fair.
If a guild is covering all aspects of the game (semi-hardcore social all-in-one guild), it’s very common to get people outright leeching on its potential.
Some people join a 300+ member guild so they never have to rely on lfg and they have the opportunity to do whatever they want in the game, and have the same people for it rather than random strangers each time (which is how my guild operates). Some people join such a guild just to hop in during the guild missions, or rep to ask if there’s someone for xyz dungeon and then rep their ‘main’ guild again. Neither is ok from the point of view of someone who put their heart and mind into making a big guild operate.Big guilds are not extended friend lists to be used when it’s convenient.
(Unless they advertise as such ;-))3. It’s easier to manage.
Because of 1 and 2, if someone’s repping another guild extensively and hasn’t let anyone know what’s up, it’s only rational to let such a person go and make room for someone else, who might be actually interested in being a guildie rather than just another name on the list, reaping the guild benefits when it suits them.4. It builds bonds.
Repping the same guild makes you play / chat together more. Even in a 300+ guild, you really not need to be just a name on the list. I used to remember 200+ of my active guildies by their first name, location, and personal news; i would ask how’s their newborn child.
People who represented much less – for any reason – or who never really socialised via /g and the guild forums… well, they weren’t the 200+ i mentioned above.Even then, a good guild does need some exceptions and a way to inform that you’re also a member of some community guild or a small circle of friends or you have four extra banks you might visit.
I can’t agree more with this post.
Even though we don’t have 100% rep rule in our guild, I can see why some guilds choose to do so. I have some examples from my own experience.
My friend and I have been managing a guild since pre-release. We were really excited about Guildwars 2 and we thought it would be a lot of fun to create our own community, however big it would become. We decided some time ago to adjust our ranking system in a way where those who either represent us 100% or those who don’t are able to grow in the guild in their own way.
My biggest pet peeve is players who are in our guild and basicly never represent it, only when the guild missions are on, or to ask 1 quick question (or say "Hi’ every now and then and leave afterwards). Those members don’t feel like the ‘guildies’ like drkn.3429 mentioned, they are just a name on a list.
I don’t mind anyone leaving the guild, if it makes them happy to do so and, perhaps, they’ve found a guild more suitable. I’m even happy for them and wish them all the best. I’m good friends with some ‘ex-guildies’. However I really dislike it when people join another guild and just out of nowhere stop representing ours.
I occasionally whisper players if they’re not representing so I know what the reason is. And the answer has often been “yea I joined another guild but I’m still active in yours sometimes”. Just to never represent us again or in the way I mentioned above.
I don’t want to be a ‘back up- guild’. Even if you’ve been in our guild for a long time and you suddenly decide to join another guild (again, I wish you all the luck in the world and yes we can be friends) remember that in our guild you become just a name on a list that hops in once a month (if even) to say hello. I understand if they are trying things out, and it’s not like we want to remove them right away. But mostly they just keep us ‘hanging’ with excuses.
In those cases I learned that it’s best to just make an end to it. And tell them they are welcomed back when they decide to be a part of us again.
Anyway to stop my ranting..
If you decide to join a guild make sure you want to actually be in that guild. Even if you have another guild with friends (make sure communicate that in the guild you joined so they know what’s up), It’s still your choice to join the other guild aswel. And they are considering you a guildie so make sure you actually are one from time to time.
And if the guild has a 100% rep rule (with exceptions for bank etc..), and you’re sure you don’t want to rep 100%. Don’t join that guild because it will not suit you.
Edit: some grammar stuff

Level a class you enjoy pvping with to 50. Halt all leveling. Start playing matches. All loot will be level 50 from reward tracks. Salvage that loot.
To get even more, do Silverwastes on an 80. Keep all the bags, put them into a bank, give to the 50. Salvage the kitten ton of 50 gear
Instant linen.
When you list for 3.25g, you may not notice the 16.25s immediately pulled from your account.
Now when the item sells and you go pick up your coin you will see 2.9250g, your list price minus 10%. Now in reality, after posting fee you only made 2.7625g.
So for 1) you will be picking up 2.9250g (2 g 92 s 50 c) and in case 2) you will be picking up 2.8186g (2 g 81 s 86 c). But in both cases your posting fee was taken out of your wallet as soon as you click OK.
Things get weird when you are selling a lot of on type of item because while the listing fee is based on the entire stack, the 10% sales tax is calculated on every sale so in the end you man get more or less back than if the stack was sold to a single buyer.
Here’s what I mean. You are selling a 250 stack of mithril ore for 55 c. Now the posting fee is 6s 88c. Now if they are all bought at one time by a single buyer, the sales tax will be 13s 75c. Now if they were instead bought as 10 stacks of 25, each stack has a sales tax of 1s 38c so overall you are taxed 13s 80c instead of 13s 75c so you end up a little less.
RIP City of Heroes
I think the problem is that some people are treating the trading post like it’s an auction – thinking that you have to maintain the highest bid until the sale goes through or you won’t get your item.
That’s not how it works. You’re not placing competing bids for a single item, you’re offering to buy one or more of those items (usually one of tens, hundreds or thousands in circulation). If someone places a higher bid it doesn’t mean they’ve beaten you and you’ve lost out, it just means they’ve jumped to the front of the queue and you have to wait a bit longer.
If you can’t wait and would rather pay more to get the very next one sold then you can do that by increasing your bid – to match the lowest sell order. That way you get your item instantly.
I almost never watch items after placing a bid, and when I do it’s because I’m expecting it to sell very quickly and don’t think it’s worth doing anything else (like when I’m buying silk for crafting). Other than that I place my bid and then pretty much forget about it. Quite often it’s at the end of the day when I’m about to log off anyway, but if I do stay online I just carry on playing.
Sometimes I happen to notice I’ve been outbid, but even then I don’t rush to change my bid, I just wait for those ones to clear and to move back to the top of the list. If it’s been more than a few days I might reassess the situation. 15 days is my arbitrary cut-off point but I can only remember a couple of times I didn’t get my item/s before then. Even when I was buying a precursor (a very competitive item with relatively low availability compared to what I normally buy), I placed my bid, happened to notice I was outbid before going to bed but didn’t change it and came back from work the next day to find I’d got it.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
It’s a problem that’s been addressed several times. The issue is that taking a certain key point is more rewarding than keeping as certain key point.
As I’ve said in another similar post to this, I think you should get rewarded for taking a point, but get rewarded even more for keeping it.
As for the player whispering you, and anyone for that matter – there is never an excuse for verbal abuse – be it in PvE, WvW, PvP etc. Report & Block the user. That player will have their comeuppance one day.
