These are all good changes, but I think a lot of us have been most looking forward to a new game mode. It was a lot of people’s #1 priority in the CDI that was run last year, and we’ve been waiting a lot time for it.
As Colin said, a new game mode is something the team is working towards. However, it’s not ready at this time. These other changes are ready, and we’d like to get them out to you on December 2. A new game mode is a serious undertaking that requires a lot of time and work.
Ppl rush to get all three skin right away with bandit crest and complain again the extractor. Don’t get why seriously.
I play the map because its fun, diversified and really rewarding. I plan to hold on to my crest until they released all 18 pieces of the armor. Got 2 pieces from the story, 2 from drop and 1 from the PvP reward track without never using any crest. The extractor are worth using even if you don’t need any organ. They give you more crest when you sold them to the guys than the extractor cost, so you can just use extractor each time you do the breach for the additional crest and from time to time you get the organ you need for the collection. We probably gonna have 2 more updates in that map, don’t stress yourself and rush to get all pieces right aways or you’ll probably gonna get one of the pieces you already have latter in a drop.
Gear Grind: NO. No no no no no and just for confirmation, NO.
Skill Grind: While I wouldn’t mind seeing new skills get added into the game, I think ANet is wary of creating more skill bloat like what they had in GW1. GW1 had TONS of skills, but the vast majority of them were mediocre and never used at all.
It was.
In the past it was very weak and no-one used it.
They tweaked it.
Now it is viable and some people use it.
Definitely not everyone, because it doesn’t work with a lot of builds.
Try running it and see if it makes you as OP as you imagine.
Pro-tip: It won’t.
Good luck out there.
I find it a bit premature to claim it was not enough before it is actually over.
Thank you.
We can talk when it’s reasonable to talk: Later.

Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.
Almost all of the main areas/paths don’t require you to jump at all. The only exception to this is the very beginning of the map which does require you to use the Zephyrite Crystal abilities. Everywhere else tends to follow the easiest possible path and you just walk there. If you following each living story chapter through that area the markers actually show you exactly how to get through.
Try to only go into Dry Top from the full hour to 40 minutes past the hour until you are comfortably aquainted with the area, since the sandstorm will be active from :40 to the next full hour every hour.
The whole map is a bit maze-like, and there are a few steps in the story where you have some (easy) jumping with crystals to do, but overall you’ll find that there’s not nearly as many places to go wrong as it seems at first. The map is highly 3-dimensional, which does take some getting used to, but once you know your way around it actually is a very fun and interesting environment.
What part of the story are you stuck on? Which waypoints in Dry Top do you have unlocked? Maybe someone here on the forum can give you a couple of tips to get on with the story, it certainly is worth it. Or, if you are on an EU server, whisper me in-game and I’ll gladly act as a “tour guide” to get you aquainted with the major paths through Dry Top.
Disclaimer: I am an adult with fulltime job and family, too, but still I enjoy Dry Top as a unique and very well-done area.
Usually Sticky treads are used by moderators to summarize important informations for players. Since here, players have to summarize informations to moderators, players should be ale to create stickies.
I’m sorry you misunderstand what is happening. Let me explain: No players “have to summarize informations” for anyone, including me. Someone reported a bug. I asked for details, if that person or anyone else cared to share it. This is an efficient and provably useful synergy for forums, since those involved in the thread are well informed and may be willing to provide the info that is needed to follow up on their request for information. Those doing so are offering detail in the spirit of helpfulness and a willingness to contribute, and we appreciate that very much.

First world problems.
I don’t know how long you’ve been away but they do update the game regularly, including making balance changes (the last big one was the 9th September Feature Pack).
So I’d guess the issue here isn’t that they are incapable of making changes but that they haven’t made the ones you personally want to see.
Maybe try posting in the Necromancer forum, see what other players think about your suggestions. If it’s popular it probably will get the developers attention.
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
If you just want to let the devs know you’re better off submitting a support ticket (link at the top of the page). They’re unlikely to see this, especially on a Saturday.
It would probably be helpful to put more detail in as well. For example did you get a confirmation that your purchase had been successful? (You should get a pop-up in-game as soon as the purchase completes and an email to the address you registered the game with, which might take longer to show-up.) Did/do the gems show up on the gem store tab or in your wallet? Is it only the transfer window where they don’t appear?
“Life’s a journey, not a destination.”
Lion’s Arch had the architecture it did because of the flooding caused by Orr’s rise, it wrecked ships in various positions, which then served as the basis for the town being built around it. As Lion’s Arch is repaired going forward, those ships aren’t going to be put back. They were destroyed, smashed down from their positions, and there’s no reason for the Captain’s Council to expend effort to put the ships back when they’re having enough trouble restoring basic services and stopping looters.
While Lion’s Arch is going to continue to be fixed going forward, it’s never going to look like it once did.
We have all been waiting for this and it looks like it is finally on the way! HotM FINALLY gets a bank!! Happy days!
I think this is going to make a lot of players very happy!

I’m a grad student and my research is funded by grants. The organizations who offer my funding expect regular status reports on what I’m working on and what progress I’ve made. If I told the steering committee for those grants, “I’m definitely working on things, and they’re going to be good things, but I can’t tell you any specific information about what I’m working on now or in the future because my plans might change,” do you think my funding would be renewed? Hell to the no. Arenanet owes its sources of funding the same regular reports on its progress that any other organization offers to its backers.
This analogy is valid until you consider that GW2 is not subscription-based. They don’t offer pre-orders on up and coming content. You buy the game as-is and then optionally purchase existing upgrades. Why do you feel that they owe you a report? When new content is released you’ll have the option to purchase new skins and additional storage. No one is demanding “funding” from you right now on speculative content, despite these implications you’re making.
Grindy? Do you even know what grind means?
For you, killing a mob, might mean grindy…idk what definition you have for “grind”.
GW2 is the best mmorpg if you have a job or you are a student, you can play it ina hardcore way as well, but if you don’t have much time to play games, this game is for you,a beautiful world with beautiful people.
“We are now! We are forever!”
Yes! Contrary to the usual tantrums and refusal to buy gems until you change this or that, with the new changes to PvP per the blogs recently AND what I consider a fantastic Jungle Outfit, I am threatening to buy gems!
Good job GW2 team, all around. I realize the holidays are ahead and there will be a lull in new things or improvements, but for now I am at least a happy gamer.

3 days and 4 pages with no reply have Gaile forsaken us?
Never! I was in England for a few days. Lots and lots of meetings, and I’m sorry I wasn’t able to post too much while I was away!
The whole lack of direct communication now has me feeling like the direction of the game itself might be in limbo and that is worrisome. Isn’t it odd that all these new hires and ads for specific people (one would associate with expansion like content) have hit so far down the road, 2 years in? I think to be honest the silence is a way to keep us all distracted from the truth, LS and rehashed holiday content is all that is on the horizon for a very long time and if they do lay out the roadmap the fear is that many will simply walk away and stop supporting the game.
Think about it and tell me you don’t draw the same conclusions at this point. Why the silence, why the lack of a roadmap, why the lack of specific answers regarding things like dungeons, classes, traits, races?
Ok, here’s some info on these specific comments:
- No, the game is not lacking direction. Nor is it lacking vision or goals, plans, ideas, concepts, or any of the other properties that guide our future. The quiet now is not an indicator of anything other than the fact that, at this time, the company is not talking about the future but is, instead, working on it.
- Game companies, like most major industries, experience a certain level of turnover, and hire to fill those spaces. They also hire for new or expanded roles. Nothing startling here whatsoever.
- The silence is decidedly not a distraction effort. As Mike O’Brien said, "We’ve set a clear policy in the past year: “We don’t talk speculatively about future development. We don’t want to string you along. Creating fun is an uncertain business: sometimes things work out and sometimes they don’t; sometimes we go back to the drawing board over and over before we get something right. If we make optimistic promises and then can’t deliver on them, everyone suffers. So when we attend a trade show or give an interview, we’re there to talk about what we’re getting ready to ship, not to speculate on what we might ship someday.”
- Living World and holidays are important, yes. They are not the only thing on which the team is working, quite clearly, when you see substantial updates coming out on a regular basis. (Case in point: feature packs, the coming PvP update, etc.)
- We are not “afraid” to lay out a roadmap. Quoting Mike again, “The intention of the CDI threads is to talk with you about the roadmap.” If you’re not participating, you’re missing out on a means of sharing your feedback and a method that we may use to give information, when the time is right.
- No, we’re not fearful of player reaction to our plans; we’re simply choosing a different path in communicating in the here and now.
- In general, with nearly anything, there are ebbs and flows in communication. If we’re in an ebb right now, you can count on there being a flow in the future. That’s just logical.

If you have been away, and come back to find your account terminated, it may have been compromised. Accounts are locked when someone else uses them.
You will need to contact the CS Team and discuss the issue with them. Top of Page – Support – Submit a Request.
Be sure to read the Knowledge Base articles on Account Security and Compromise at that linked page, as well.
Good luck.
Sometimes, i feel like people come to the official forum to complain just for the sake of complaining. The repair fee is free since a long time ago, and the amt of gold you get from doing the labyrinth is more than enough to cover your waypoint cost.
People were mad when the bandit chest was nerfed, and now they’re mad when anet gives them a new farming area. At least now there’s a challenge (finishing at least one of the breach events) before you can get to the farming area/labyrinth. Isn’t this all we wanted before?
If a name is officially used as part of game lore, they most likely don’t want others pretending to be them. You can look like them, presumably, but not be them since you are not them.
Most MMOs are like this when it comes to their lore and content.

Asuran Mesmer Mind Tricks: “These aren’t the golems you’re looking for.”
You’re grinding for dusk and your friend who just got nine greatsword precursors couldn’t give you one? What a guy…
Can the devs send me 10 legendaries as well? I don’t feel like buying them, but I want them. Thanks.
You left one game, tried something new and didn’t like it.
Now you are back to the game you were not satisfied to begin with and praise it?
Sometimes I have a hard time to understand people…
It’s so easy to poke holes in a game. This is the first MMO I’ve actually enjoyed for any length of time though.
So after trying WoW, Lotro, DDO, Perfect World, Rift, Aion, AoC, TSW (which came the closest to something I’d play), I finally found a single MMO that I find worth playing.
I’d say that’s worthy of praise.
Some people think they don’t like the game, so no one should.
Those are the people I don’t understand.
Yeah, if there is one thing that makes you appreciate GW2 it’s playing another mmo.
Oh how right you are.
