Hey, what do you call a Sylvari with a domineering wife?
Pistil-whipped.
Don’t worry, from my experiances from Anet with regards to April Fool’s it has always been fun stuff for us to do and never a cruel joke. I can’t say the same however for another company who’s game I am currently playing while also playing this. :P
General Discussion would be most apt, I believe.
You’d rather have another bag slot instead of the ability to use a skin an infinite amount of times?
The Teq weapon skins can’t be sold on tp though.
I’ve actually never seen anyone in game who has one.
Dont have worm and Teq unique account bound skins as well?

We’ve heard this story SO many times now, I dont even remember all the games that would put GW1 and 2 out to pasture, most of them are barely alive or gone altogether.
8, no nearly 9 years ago we were told of all the marvels that would put GW1 out of business, its still running now we’re in the second year of GW2 and its the same story again, there’s the WoW addicts who keep harping on how much better it is yada yada, there’s the trailblazers who decry that GW 2 is nothing, bad, full of xyz etc etc who are leaving because game X is coming out and man, thats going to be IT! And then a year later the game in question is barely hanging on.
Look, this game wasnt made to entertain you 24/7 all year round, go have fun with a new game and when you’re done then you can Always come back (or not), its not like it matters, you paid for the game and whether you play 10 or 1000 hours makes no difference.
Hi all & ArenaNet,
I know you don’t get these type of posts enough, so here you go!
I’d just like to say how much my Team and I appreciate all the Home Runs your hitting:
1) Account Wide Wallet = Awesome = Home Run!
2) Living Story Events = Ever Changing fun! (Thanks for all the hard work!)
3) Larger Crafting Storage option = Homerun
4) Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic, Infinite Tools, etc.. = Homerun
(I don’t mind paying some $$ to support the game, you guys are doing great!)
5) New Fractals = Fun! Love fractals!
(Though some of those newer ones should be lev 10+ Like the “Tron” one where the floor drops out, tough on newbie’s & Pug’s. The mechanics are a bit advanced for newer players, like ones being upscaled from lower levels.)
6) Upcoming Trait Change’s = Looks Cool!
7) WvW Seasons to motivate people to play WvW! LOVE IT! Can you say E-Sports? YES!
And the reason I was so motivated to come post, the new Wardrobe/Dye changes = Brilliant! bows with much respect
And I could just go on & on, but you get the idea.
GW2 is so my favorite game because you all are really making the right changes that make the game more & more fun!
Some other home runs we would like to request:
1) Guild Chat: Make what was typed in Guild Chat not disappear when I log out to another char and back in. Party chat stays, but not Guild chat for some reason. Minor I know, but I miss stuff people type to me and as the leader, that can be a bummer.
2) Guild Housing: The team and I want a home we can call our own. If it was me, I’d make those houses on the top of Divinity’s Reach purchasable via auction. Don’t instance it away, Make it in the Open world where people can just “Run Buy” and find & talk with new people. Instanced Housing always becomes ghost towns I find. Case in point = LOTRO Housing.
— Also this would be a super fun thing for the members to gather together wood, Ore, etc.. to make the house. Then stock it with stuff, crafting, etc. Motivates members! Please don’t make this out of reach of the small/medium guilds.
COMING! 3) Request from members: Old World Event Items like from the original Mad Kings Event, etc.. to make account bound, not soul bound to use on other char. Since some of them are unusable on the char they dropped to.
COMING! 4) Another member Request: Ascended Jewelries and Trinkets = Account Bound., allows people to try different builds or at least some Middle ground.
In closing, please pass on to the entire ArenaNet team our thanks & appreciation.

Hello all,
As this is a complaint thread about players versus the game, we are going to close it. We do allow people to give constructive feedback on the game and all changes, as long as people are respectful when they do. This includes allowing people to give negative criticism or complaints, as we value everyone’s feedback equally.

I have 2 bolts, I am not upset at all.
I have several alts that can now have the skin. I am pumped. !!
You’re only paying once to reskin an item, not every time you use it. If you want to reskin a different item you pay again.
I have a chair in real life. I paid to upholster it. It doesn’t mean I get to reupholster other chairs in my house for free, because I did it with one.
It’s the same system we have now, but improved. It’s not costing us more to use transmutation crystals. It’s just making it easier to use them.
YES
It is interesting to read MMO threads like this. From a study perspective I have never seen an MMO please forum posters. Most positive players spend too much time playing.
Main reason for YES is the shear number of things the game gives you from the start.
- Lots of gear choices.
- Story through each zone played out through events, not a quest hub
- Dungeon stories that add to the zone content you just played
- Dungeon re-use with the paths
- Random dungeon generator thing with fractals
- Combat system not tied to the trinity
- Action combat system
- Instanced gathering nodes
- Send mail from anywhere
- Choice of salvage for mats or sell for coin of items
- Consumable content at good prices
- PVP
- WVW
- Guild ranking
- Guild earned specials
- Guild stores
- Multiple ways to earn gear not just PVP or instance content
- Tons of incentive just to play daily with various things to do.
Here are my NO reasons
Its not all rosy as with most SERVICE based games, you are never done adding content. If everything could ship on day one then why have a service. And since NO design is final until the players play it and provide feedback it will evolve; no amount of UR can help here. The real question is, do you trust the devs to listen and improve? The answer to that will weight your yes/no probably more then anything else once the shine of a new game wears off.
- Not enough instance based content. Need more then dungeons and frankly the living world needs instances for those of us who really don’t like to zerg swarm a map or worse feel sucky with just a 5 person team with nothing we can do as a small team together.
- Living world needs a fractal version or a dungeon version. Most servers it seems but blackgate even do the living world after the first few days, everyone gives up past that because they got all they needed from the event or enough people are not playing to not do it. This makes those of us not playing “standard” hours or “i live with my mom” hours to actually participate.
- More traits and build options. Yes with the 15 patch you are addressing some of this but really to go from GW1 (the master of "let me try this build out a bit, oh crap its now 2am) game to what you have with GW2 is painful.
- Let me pay for DLC instance based content
- Living world. I want a living world, something that expands or leaves a mark, but one that I can come back to. The money and time spent on the living world events was huge, I missed most of them. What do I do as an active player that wants to go back and see what I missed. is there anything? I don’t understand the whole “raid” a whole server approach, has anyone seen what large mobs of people do. Take the money/time here and invest it in: a new PVP map/mode, a new instance in a zone you can come back to, a new world boss that takes I little less more like 4 groups of 5 to take down, or how about a guild boss.
- Open up weapons for each class
- I don’t want the trinity but for god sake can you please let someone who WANTS to play as a tank/healer do that. These one shot mechanics are cheap and lazy. and you can add taunt without creating the “trinity”. The big mother with a giant sword in front of you should be the target, so stop attacking that little guy with the needles who happens to be the same distance away.Your goal is valiant but from a play mechanic it is frustrating.
- You removed magic find from gear because that was the right thing to do when most players stacked it for its value. Can I point you to the runes with “+% movement speed”. Give us mounts or more consistent movement boosts.
- Provide build mechanics in gear. Allow changeable slots for gear that augment skill lines (power, precision, vitality, etc) not stats. Heck I wouldn’t mind if they augmented special skills but it would provide variant builds with what you have now.
It might be annoying to some people if the April Monthly wasn’t updated until April 15th. Just sayin’……

The Brisbane spot is especially good for rich iron. It has one permanent one and frequently has a second variable site one in that area.

There are way too many trinity games, keep my GW2 trinity-free please
YES, especially with this Feature Pack coming up.

Gw2 is a masterpiece at it’s foundation. Content-wise however…
YES……………..
Well, ignoring all the “NUH GW2 JUST GRIND GAME GEM SHOP GAME GAME” or the “HERE’S MY LIST OF WHEI DIS GAUME BUTTER:” above me, i’ll just list my simple opinion.
In my opinion GW2 beats all the “game-breaking” MMO’s coming out recently (in this case, Wildstar). Why? Well…It’s hard to put my finger on it. GW2 just does so many things different (for better or for worse) that it just sort of…stands out. When I played Wildstar for multiple weeks I felt so strange playing it. The graphics weren’t of my taste and reminded me of every other game that mimics the goofy cartoon style and I just didn’t feel…invested? Perhaps interested is a better word. Customization was limited, I couldn’t play with my friends if they wanted to play a different race on the opposing faction, classes were limited per race, the UI felt clunky and other various tidbits that bothered me.
What really got to me, I think, and this is where GW2 beats everyone (even WoW I daresay) was that the game felt dead. NPC’s had no ambient dialogue that was voiced, things only talked when I clicked on them or when we went into an instance and things didn’t feel like I actually discovered them. I picked explorer and scientist so i could find hidden things and learn about the world…but it didn’t have this feeling that I was immersed into the world. Frankly, it was because everything was highlighted to me. A giant statue that would have lore on it and I wouldn’t know unless I walked over to it would be basically painted red with an icon saying: “check this out!”. It was never this, “Oh hey, this looks interesting”.
There are only two games where I’ve ever felt like exploring the world and becoming extremely joyful or happy at finding something hidden or strange in the corner of the world: GW2 and Dark Souls. Both of these games, IMHO, manage to invest you in the world. I remember when I first found the Meat’tober fest or when I discovered a corrupted statue of one of the Six, where upon getting a hint to kneel down beside it I discovered about an ancient ghost who haunted the tombs and then I proceeded to go slay him.
I didn’t feel that in Wildstar. Everywhere I went everything was painted with a giant red
“Look here!” so nothing I ever found was from my own adventure. The world was just painted there for me, telling me where to go all the time. Quests pointed me in one direction, I could never go and explore other places because since there were no quests in those areas when I did go there, they were empty and boring.
That’s why I think GW2 beats Wildstar and why I will probably never leave it- It does so many things right but above all else, I can always find something hidden within the world that I may have never known about before, even if it is something so insignificant like a Skritt losing his precious shinies.
GW2 is just a casual grindy game with no proper endgame or challanges.
Pretty much. You forgot to mention the cash shop though, where you can buy skins that should’ve been obtainable in game, and cosplay in the LA chat room with your friends.
WoW is a hard-core grindy game with forceable endgame, no combat, no exploration and mounts etc. to purchase even-though it is pay to play.
In terms of grinding? I’ve felt GW2 have been more of a grind to me than WoW was when I played it.
I disagree 100%, WoW was nothing but grinding, whether it was PVE or PVP.
I think your tolerance of grinding, as with most of us, has diminished with age. GW2 is definitely not more of a grind than WoW though.
GW2 is a superior game to almost every MMO in the western industry atm and Wildstar/ESO are both average ones. People would like WS/ESO for a fresh experience however neither bring anything major to the industry.
Yes, prior to a few hours ago?, the next to blog posts were to be released on the 24th, which is today (as of right now).
Here is a post of mine from 3 days ago on the 21st where I cited them as being on the 25th as that is what the Feature Packs page was showing at the time and is still showing. So it has been showing the 25th for at least the last 3 days.

If you don’t think that winning (or finishing highly) in this coming tournament, especially considering the number of hours the winning team will put into this competition, isn’t going to take a lot of time and effort… there’s nothing I or anyone can tell you that you won’t dismiss either.
These rewards are perfectly acceptable, and I’d dare say long overdue for the PvP players. Stop whining.
+1
The people whining is just a group of self-gratifying scrubs thinking the tourny will somehow ‘diminish’ their accomplishments. What they seem to miss are the scale of this tournament and the fact that while PvE has enjoyed steady feed of decent patches, all the while the PvP community has been majorly overlooked and drought of shinies.
The tournament is of such scale, that it should be the top pvpers not satisfied with the rewards being skins out of pve, rather than having a chance to get something truly unique and eye-catching. Yet ironically it’s the other way around.
To the people whining: stop, just stop. 5 Top brass pvpers getting a legendary will in no way invalidate your efforts. You are not special snowflakes, so stop acting like little miss princesses. The overall effort across the playtime made by the team winning the tournament is more than worth a single ‘legendary’.
Thousand Lakes Alliance [TLA], Desolation
4 Champion titles, solo/duoq Legend, best old LB rank 64.
Zerker’s never reigned supreme in WvW, so I doubt much will change due to Furousity. Organized Zergs will keep their focus on CC, AoE, and not being Rally bate and Roamers will do as they feel.
The new Traits and sigils are more poised to cause a shift than Furousity.

Only consider CD if you wan’t drama/que free playstle focused on the long term health of the server AFTER season 2.
Also, +1 to op. He is being very serious in saying they don’t need more people.
Actually, CD is an awesome server to be on. Now that KoMe is gone, so is the source of the drama. And it’s not really KoMe that was the problem, but one or 2 people in the guild that was causing the drama and giving the guild a bad rep. But since it’s against the rules to “call out” individuals, the guild itself suffered.
CD is full of skilled people. just in the last few days of WvW, i’ve been in lots of groups that were outnumbered by HoD forces and we killed and pushed them back because we have better tactics. Its only when our groups run into zergs of 3v1 or more that we get stomped in. If we had the persistent numbers online that our opponents do, we’d win more matchups even when the odds are lopsided.
(edited by Special K.8143)
8 months playing WvW, same server, under a couple of different guilds (1 defensive, 1 offensive) depending on what I feel like doing. If I get bored/annoyed with that (and it’s usually the people that annoy me, not the game), I go do something else for a while.
Some of the complaining on this forum is outrageously gratuitous.
“Warrior is OP”
“Warrior sucks”
“Ranger is OP”
“Ranger sucks”
“Thief is OP”
“Thief sucks”
“Upcoming changes suck” (before they’ve even been seen, tested or looked at in the big picture.
“Anet sucks”
It’s all so incredibly negative. Hardly any kudos to Anet for the amazing game we have the privileged lives to play. Anet actively tries to kitten players off? As if.
