The Feature Pack launches April 15th (no specific time given; could be at any time on that date). You can get your free Transmutation Charges at any time in-between the launch and one minute shy of noon the following day (April 16th).

It’s been out for a while now but I just wanted to say this: thank you for Edge of the Mists. I don’t play as much GW2 as I used to but what will get me hooked for hours on end is WvW, specifically the new map. It’s an absolute pleasure to command in that map, plan the best routes through objectives, and even after all the hours I’ve spent in Edge there are always new obscure paths I want to check out to see how it all fits together. And the four hour match length is just perfect for getting a fresh start. So really, hats off to the design team for this awesome map, I love it.

This has been beaten to death. It was in an article AND when you go to transfer, it asks if you are sure that you want to and explains the penalty. You literally have to click the button to say “Yes, I know the penalty.” How much more clear can it be?

Considering that such fights were specifically designed with large guilds in mind… not really. This is Arena.net’s version of “raid content”, and it isn’t for everyone. If you’re not willing to join a guild for that purpose, you’re going to have a VERY hard time completing them.

It because those fights require some degree of pre-planning, coordination, and understanding specific mechanics.

To a great number of players, they just want to have fun, not study fights before hand. As a result, the bulk of the pick up and go crowd aren’t prepared, don’t know what to expect, and it often leads to failure. After a while, the crowd gets discouraged, and stops trying.

Just wanted to say thanks to Adonis, and the rest of the support team, who helped me with my email issues.

Truly, the heroes of GW2, are its amazing support team. Those brave warriors endure the tiredness of night, providing an awesome support experience at 2AM IN THE MORNING, and yet, so swiftly as well!

I think we should give a moment to show our appreciation to GW2’s amazing support team, and all the hard work they do! ;D

Like the Monk in GW1, a good support is the backbone to every team.

Only PvP and WvW?

World completion, farming (of various kinds), dungeons, fractals, ascended gear, legendaries, minis, wardrobe, living story. And when you’re done with all of that, start a guild, grind out all of the influence and help others do these things to.

And don’t forget to talk to people. Find somewhere, sit down, and talk.

It sounds to me like you want open-world PvP, this is never going to happen. However I agree that duelling in PvE would be nice to have.

I always hated “toon”

Since the first online game I have played was Guild Wars (1), I always referred them to “char” or “character” if I’m not lazy.

I always took it as a sign when someone said “toon” they either came from WoW or a WoW clone

A similar question was put to the pvp team and the resonse was something on the lines of the features in Tuesdays patch put them a step closer to implementing a build saver, but there isn’t one due in the immediate future.

The only people I see using the term “toon” are current or ex-players of WoW

In EVE-Online calling your character a “toon” will get you a standard “GTFO back to WoW” reply.

Coming from FF11 we hated calling hero you play toons its the WoW point of view of things as if your hero is throw away and shallow as a cartoon.

I first heard “toon” used in Wow, probably because of the overly cartoon style of the graphics.

However, personally I really, really hate the term “toon” for “character” and do not use it myself!

There is absolutely no reason for customer support to lie to you about what happened. Assuming your account wasn’t hacked and the gold stolen by someone without your knowledge, you made a mistake and sent gold instead of silver. It happens, but at this point there’s nothing you can do about it.

I can agree with you that there is no reason for customer support to lie to me, but what they see on their side might not be accurate. To assume their system is perfect and can’t be flawed is a huge mistake.

Right now I fully understand that I won’t be getting any of my gold back whither I did or did not send the gold and I accept that.

The purpose of this thread is to try and convince their team and the community that a confirmation message for sending coin is necessary and when sending any mail there should be an outbox informing the user of who they sent their message to, and what items/coins were included.

I just don’t want to see any fellow players experience losing half of their gold and being told it was their fault without any prove on their side. I can only hope a dev sees this thread and decides to take action in favor of the players.

Anet collects a lot of data about player activity and it is indeed quite accurate, to the point that they can tell what an individual player was doing at a specific date and time. They use this data when investigating serious issues like bans for botting, player misconduct accusations, and so on.

For example, I’ve seen protestations of innocence in the Account Issues forum. Things like “I got a suspension for using foul language and I totally did not say anything bad!” Gaile Gray, Anet’s Support Liaison, will respond with something like “On June 14th at 5:45 PM you used two racial slurs and an f-bomb in one sentence, followed by five more over the next three sentences.” Their information is, indeed, quite complete and accurate.

There is absolutely no reason to think that if they said an amount of coin was sent from your account that the cs agent is guessing or mistaken.

If you meant this as a suggestion thread, I’m not seeing it. It looks more like a thinly veiled accusation against Anet, and as such there is little chance that anyone there is going to consider what you have to say on the matter. I suggest starting a new thread without any personal issues and calling it something like “Suggestion: confirmation box when sending money or items.”

It’s an hour later because your clocks were moved forward 1 hour. Doing this does not change the time. WvW reset still occurs at 01:00 UTC (Universal Time Coordinate), which is equivalent to 8 pm EST (Eastern Standard Time) or 9 pm EDT (Eastern Daylight Time).

this can happen if you knock a wall or gate down, drag the lord outside, then the defenders either repair the damage or a wall/door upgrade finishes building.

the lord is tough to fight, but isn’t the brightest bulb, and has no idea how to use the door portal to get back inside, so he just stays out there.

I have been known to practice the dark art forum necromancy; however, I have always believed such action should be meaningful, actionable, and uplifting for the community.

It is one thing to individually necro topics to advance a specific dialog. It is another thing entirely to incite others to mass action — the real intent being some sick sense of accountability score keeping.

I’m not certain the implied tone of this thread is healthy for the community.

People have been re-posting what ANet said about transfers during the Seasons, this isn’t the argument or what people are posting about. People are complaining that they transferred last week and could get in WvW and now today what ANet said they were going to do has actually been done.

I’m in the same boat, I moved from Gandara to Piken but only now have I been locked out of WvW so I’ve been contributing towards Piken since mid-last week. Would be nice to have a Dev give some clarification on the subject but until then, oh joy EoTM! (Yes, that was sarcasm).

ANET did make announcement about WvW lockout weeks before the season begins.

you being able to enter WvW last week after transferring was a glitch.

what ANET doing now is fixing that glitch.

so, what they are doing is right, which is fixing a glitch.

…. and to those troll guilds out there who like sending spies to opposing servers, good luck, and enjoy waiting 2 weeks lockout on that spy acct….
