80 Ranger (3), 80 Warrior (3), 80 Thief (3)
80 Ele (2), 80 Engi (3), 80 Rev (2)
Yeah, the whole process stinks imo.
I have 9 characters that I’m supposed to gear out and you’re pretty much locked in once you chose your gear.
It’s why i’m not bothering with ascended armour.
works pretty well for valve… they make hand over fist with this model, and doing this in an mmo would be pretty innovative

Don’t bother with the demand side. That’s too easy to game. Just put in a ton of bids at 1c, and it looks like HUGE demand. It’s the supply side of the equation that will determine the rising price over time.
They didn’t say anywhere that the 15th patch will add any kind of precursor scavenger hunt or crafting…
They actually said the precursor hunt will not be a part of the patch.
I don’t know about humans… But there is a particular female Asura in Rata Sum with a female significant other. I have a feeling most or all races are fine with anything. Mainly because I don’t think anet would want to put those politics into the game.
Charr warrior in CoF armor, in all black dye.
And with a twilight.
YAWN.
Female human mesmer.
And they are most likely wearing some T3 cultural armor, Arah shoulders, and maybe wielding anomaly.
I can’t go anywhere without seeing these “clones”, seriously get some uniqueness.
I’m tired of seeing ppl getting rich from playing the TP like this is Wall Street Wars 2.
In reality I’m just jealous I don’t know how to invest. But still it’s ridiculous.
IMO, this is a terrible idea. I’m not sure where you are getting “a couple silvers” from. If everyone has stacks upon stack in their bank, they will be dirt cheap. Now if you want a vendor price for them and keep them accountbound, then I’m ok with that, but they will be worthless on the TP.
Meh, not partecipating anymore.
Totes jelly of my charr >:(
immediately
This wouldn’t hinder gold sellers at all, but it would significantly hinder honest players.
Terrible idea.
It doesn’t have a copper value because not even vendors want it!
In exchange for making life very inconvenient for all normal players, all a gold seller has to do is buy the buyer’s 400g trading post listing. Gold is exchanged, seller is mildly bothered, everybody else has to deal with this headache for all time.
-1
There’s already far too much account bound garbage going on as it stands.
What about those who use crafting to level? I leveled cooking to 400 on 3 different chars, two of them to get those levels. A guildie recently got the last few levels of his newest char to 80 by crafting.
Just because you got yours and you don’t need it anymore doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be available for people leveling now.
No, ANet doesn’t need to do anything. It’s fine the way it is.
Simple solution to all the complaints: remove dungeons, add “fun-geons”.
GW2 is a play-how-you-want game but dungeons are designed for elitists to exclude people. Therefore, all dungeon mechanics need to be reworked to:
- Mobs no longer take damage from attacks. Instead, they lose health automatically over time. They also lose more health the further away players are from them. This will discourage the “zerk only” stacking meta by enabling players to play how they want, with any build, at any range.
- Mobs no longer deal damage. Instead, players either take steady damage over time, reduced by armor, when near mobs. Dodging will negate this effect for 10 seconds. This will give players a meaningful choice as to whether or not to dodge instead of making dodging mandatory (yes, there’s a guy on reddit right now complaining that dungeons force him to dodge when he doesn’t want to).
- Doors will not open until all mobs in the preceding area have been cleared. This is to prevent skipping, obviously.
- Dungeons no longer give rewards. This is to discourage players from “farming” dungeons instead of doing them for fun, the way they were meant to be played.
- Party members cannot be kicked once they join the party. This is prevent elitists from kicking people for playing how they want. If a party wants to kick a member, they must submit a ticket to Anet detailing the reasons for the requested kick to be reviewed by a GM. This will be made feasible by the fact that most dungeons will take, at minimum, approximately two hours to complete per run.
I think I speak for everyone (but the elitist speedrunning zerk stacksploiters) when i say this would vastly improve the dungeon experience.
I’m often kicking people who do not match my lfg. But you can usually identify these by some extraordinary description I put in. I’ve had a lot of fun trying to get ‘native english speakers who are willing to communicate". Eventually, after about an hour, someone joined me, quite sadly I didn’t understand his advanced english ‘i rune dol cuz orb i die many’.
At that point I told them they were all idiots because what’s the point of running 4 Warriors + Mesmer if you’re going to waste so much time due to your inflated ego.
That sounds about right. People wasting time being picky to “save” time often take longer. That’s why you only see Zerker posts on the LFG – because the non-zerk only fill up nigh on instant and are already 3/4 through the dungeon before the Zerkers even fill up.
I know some player’s would rather a longer preparation time and do the dungeon quicker – because they find “quick” dungeon fun – but players need to use their sense. You’re never getting a true speedrun in a PUG, so why try? Just take anybody that isn’t using junk Bearbow or AH Guard.
I run CoF every day with PuGs. I know that a flawless run with solid DPS takes about 8 minutes to complete, depending on when exactly you start counting.
And despite my previously bad experiences with similar groups I decided to join a set and ready “4 Warriors, 1 Mesmer, Zerker only group”.
Now I can almost understand the desire for Zerkers. Solid DPS does speed up the run significantly. In CoF however you only really kill 5 mobs where DPS actually matters so the difference between Zerker or not is negligible.
I always assumed this “Zerker only” mentality was rooted in an obsession for smooth and fast runs.
Anyway, so we start off, first boss goes down quickly as you’d probably expect. Some Warrior asks another about his build, but he doesn’t respond. By the time we’ve killed the summoners the inquisitive Warrior decides that one Warrior isn’t in fact a Zerker and thus initiates a kick which promptly goes through.
Mind you this Warrior they kicked was the only one using buff-food and Slaying Potions.
So I port them through the tunnel but with 4 players they are now stuck at the brazers. I asked them why they kicked the guy and tell them it made no sense. So after about 2 minutes a Guardian joins the group, only to be instantly kicked again for not being a Warrior.
WTF!?
At that point I told them they were all idiots because what’s the point of running 4 Warriors + Mesmer if you’re going to waste so much time due to your inflated ego.
So I leave, form a new group and 8 minutes later complete the run.
Meanwhile the Warriors were still stuck in CoF….
I despise Living Story with a venomous passion.
If I were to hear that Living Story and it’s buggy, temporary rush was all I had to look forward to for the life of the game, I wouldn’t even bother to keep tabs on Guild Wars 2 to see if my concerns about Living Story were ever going to be addressed.
I’d simply be gone.
Both. I like what they did with the LS and I’d like to see what they’d do with an expansion.
Arena Net will wait untill precursors are 2000g/ea and then they’ll MAYBE do something aout it.
Increase the drop rate by 0.000000000000000001%.
If ArenaNet controlled which fractals, it would be.
1) Dredge
2) Dredge
3) Dredge
4) Dredge with more protection.
As someone who very much enjoys in game casual looking clothing, which this game has a serious lack of, I would really, reaaalllyyy love to see this in the gem store. I stumbled across it while looking up the witches outfit and apparently it’s already in the data files or something?
Anyway, pleeeaaaseeee!! Many gems would pay do want, TAKE MY MONEY.
It would just be a logical way to spread price disparity across different material tiers. Tier 5 leather is oversupplied; Tier 4 leather is undersupplied. A demotion recipe would bring the two together very quickly. Long-term, it would ensure that no material tier ever becomes oversupplied or undersupplied as long as there is demand for the finished product (Ascended gear, which I think is in a pretty good spot for time/money investment as a long-term hook to keep players playing).
Of course, the question is whether it’s actually enough of an issue that ANet would need to do something about it. I doubt it’s high priority, but as Ulion pointed out, ANet has taken steps in the past to address oversupply, so it could happen.
In any case, all of this doesn’t really affect me personally since my playstyle ensures that I have sufficient materials of the various tiers for my own needs without needing to turn to the TP. (Although I do often buy up cheap crafting components if they’re cheaper to obtain on the TP than crafting them myself.)
Nope. You chose your server and all your chars are there.
You can change server for free ig you delete all your chars though.
