Not sure what you are after here. The low population server WERE fighting other low population servers for months. It was boring as hell and many players quit the game. You may not like Glicko but in the end, even with pure server population system, the matches would of been same.
Also, you do understand that different servers could have same population but play at different timezones? It has been common to win matches simply by having few players take every map when no enemy is around.
Finally, assuming there are no huge population movements, servers would NEVER have any chance to get into different match. There would basically be no reason to even win the match because winning or scoring or any number of points would have no effect on who you fight next week. You know who you fight – same guys you fought this week.
You can’t complain about queues in the first time in reset night of the new implemented system… is way too soon. Give it a week or two to normalize.
Didn’t read this thread in its entirety (eyes starting to hurt from writin’ two walls myself recently) but, I agree (actually one of my “walls” covers this).
EoTM is a DETRIMENT to WvW and needs to be completely REMOVED in my honest opinion!
Although, they could keep EoTM “maps” under one of my proposed “fixes” (also another wall in my thread)… … … That would make the EoTM map an actual part of actual WvW :O

And I do aswell, hell even Dark Souls PvP which is a backstab/one shot festival is way funnier than this, I’m so glad that great games are coming up this year, because I’m not pleased by how HoT turned this game into a complete mess where grinding is omnipresent.
Speaking of Ruby and pips, with 50% winrate, it’s obviously a dice roll until I get win streaks to get out thanks to MMR of course, which promotes tryharding at it’s best.
One word:
Elitism.
And this is why the game, which prospered so much at launch, didn’t feature any kind of “elite” or arbitrarily “difficult” content. And also part of why, HoT, an expansion featured as pleasing the “hardcore” crowd has failed in the eyes of a bulk majority of players when looking at sheer numbers.
Strictly speaking, not many people care. And those that do are likely too exclusive to not care about anyone not involved in their personal affairs.

Red circle? Lol, that’s why it’s called a trap.
Indeed, but some people just want to smash keys and win…
DH is one of the easiest classes to defeat, people that die easilly to DH traps are people that outplay themselves o.O!
“insert, its a trap meme here”
Show me video of u killing DH with warrior then
. If u say that it is easy to counter em then u should be able to do that with every class. Also They aren’t easy to ciunter, yes u can doge away from their traps, but then u get 10k crit from their good kitten op shoot… Also the poroblem is that they have high survi and over huge burst dmg. Anet must nerf 1 of those aspects( either survi or burst dmg).
As for Reapers… I mentioned it hundred times already that they are unbalanced kitten and u know what? Anet don’t give a kitten about that… All they care is that ppl buy expansion to play this P2W class… That is all
I dont play warrior on WvW, got mine arround lvl 40 from almost 3 years ago , saddly i would like to have it at max, but atm i cant even log into the game (unninstaled it for install BDO) :\, btw DH is one trick pony and most are squishy players that after the trap spam dont know how to act, as a DH without bow, myself i didnt had problems with DH ji/GS/traps, usually they need to have arround 3 or 2 vs 1 to get that win or a dual with necro or engie and than get busrted 2 or 3 times by the DH.
Btw this game is ment to be played unbalanced, what ic is that Anet to cover the lack of skills on weapons, choosed to unbalance the game, to force players moving from Class X to class Y, and from build A to B, also some players love unbalanced games.
Well with DH it would be easy to pwn DH, but it is imposible to do that with core class. Just look at sPvP… only scrappers, repaers, dh, chrono, dd, tamer, rev and druids… Not a single old class and when u play old one u get yelled and bullkittented by teammembers
. Same at WvW, but here u don’t get bullkittented for playing code class as 3/4 of current WvW players are WvW veterans that didn’t even buy HoT
I speak about friendly fire on yourself.
Then when you shoot with your cata the splash damage will hit you and your cata.
No one else.
And friendly fire could be fine, a lot of game have friendly fire.
But then anet need to add some mechanics to ban people who make too much friendly fire in a small amount of time. With increase ban time.
Then you can add friendly fire to AC, to make happy all the guy who hate the AC… This will reduce the use of this siege in fight.
There is a bit of discussion about EotM not being “real” WvW, and for me, I would like say to say that in some cases they are both the same. It’s Open Team based PvP, It’s Point Capture, and it’s the same idea of Three Teams. Red, Green, Blue. I can play “real” I run around flipping points and capping objectives in both environments without a single clash with other players, equally so, I can get bombarded by endless blob wars in both environments So it’s not the Mechanics that are real;y a dividing issue.
However, I can see why EotM is not considered “Real” WvW, because there is no “World Loyalty” in EotM.
EotM is like this one big huge Pug of people that are there for loot, karma, and exp. They don’t care what server they are running with or against. Leave EotM to sell/buy/trade, come back and even if it is the same “match” you can end up on a different map, running with new people, under a new commander, and facing opponents you never saw before. There is no Unity or Loyalty in EotM
Unlike WvW, where the people you see out there Today, are the same people that were there Yesterday, and will be there Tomorrow, there is a sense of My World. I will defend My Borderlands. WvW is like being in this one huge Guild. We may not all get along, but we are all part of the same team.
I think that really is where the division is between the two.
Just wanted to put that out.
The legendary discussion made me start thinking about this question – Why are there two different types of bows in this game? There is only one profession that uses both types – the Ranger, and even it only uses the SB for utility. And with all the weapon skins – the only difference I see between most of them is the scale.
Honestly – I think they should try merging the bow types, and giving Rangers a new weapon in exchange for the loss of the Shortbow, while letting the skins be shared. I’m certain there are lots of Thieves, especially of Sylvari disposition, who’d love to needle their foes with Kudzu, and warriors and Dragonhunters who’d love to let the Dreamer’s pink unicorns soar across the battlefield… and now that the new legendary is going to apparently be some sort of awesome Tiger-themed shortbow… what warrior wouldn’t love unleashing it’s power in furious fire?
The new maps are no where near as bad as people make them out to be. Ofc at first it was a bit a shock and I wasn’t that impressed with the size or the gimmicks in it but time does help you over come it. Quite enjoying roaming now (not solo, 2-5 people)

This is interesting, though it would mean an AC built on the inside of a wall could hit the outside with ease. I’m ok with that as long as they don’t gain any additional range as a result of this change.
It’s certainly easier to make and use than the current Line of Sight lottery.
This is just ridiculous. Now whole guild, from JQ, have left that server and gone to TC to push TC to T1 and let JQ drop. This is just fair weather type of WvW but the usual for these people who like to manipulate glicko. This basically says, to me, that glicko needs to be scrapped.
This fits best for me:
In the olden days, your team would respond en masse to a call out because you didn’t want to lose a WP that took forever to upgrade, etc. Defending a tower or keep had a feeling of reward when the enemy was pushed out. And that reward was defending something you worked hard on getting built.
Now, with nobody wanting to play the BLs, calling for help is like pulling teeth. Smaller groups that were able to jump between maps now cannot be bothered to respond because the new Bay and Hills doesn’t give them a chance to WP in and save it. So it falls.
And it becomes a domino thing. If Bay and Hills fall, what’s the point really of defending garri? The attitude is “let them take the map, we’ll get it back later.”
WPs need to be returned to the home BL map — not divided up by team like in EB.
I’m glad the dolyaks play a role in upgrades now .. but the auto upgrade system has simply taken pride of ownership away from those defenders who loyally covered the home map.
There is NOTHING better and more loyalty binding to your team than saving something in the “nick of time” … it’s the emotional connection of feeling you did it together.
And that’s what kept WvW rolling, despite the complaints, for three plus years. People scoff at server loyalty, team loyalty, but it was the glue.
So this is what this game has come to. PATHETIC! I think I’m going to join Reddit forums just so I can tell Colin and the rest of Anet how I feel, because they’ll never find out how their customer base feels in their own forums that’s for sure.
I can remember when GW2 was originally coming-out and unique underwater combat was one of ArenaNet’s exciting new selling points. Then the game was released and we realized that it wasn’t what anyone would call finished. Well, it’s about 3 years later now and it’s not much better. What I’m primarily referencing is the limited use of utility skills. There have been some improvements, but nowhere near what there should be.
I recently decided to buy HoT and roll a Revenant. Once I started building my character I realized none of the stances I was interested in were available while underwater. There are currently only two stances usable underwater which you are forced to use whether they compliment your build or not (the spear being the only usable weapon to boot). This means that only 40% of the Rev’s utility skills are available underwater, which you aren’t free to pick from and must appear in their respective stances, of course.
I’m not ragging-on the Rev, I’ve found it a very unique and enjoyable class. I’ve had many Alts and noticed this is a consistent problem, as you probably have, too. The Rev is a prime example of how water combat falls short of the generated expectation and continues to do so. My ultimate grievance is this lack of options to the player removes interest from an entire layer of an otherwise enjoyable game.
Stability was changed from duration to intensity stacking with March 16 2015 update.
It’s been one year with the new stability mechanics and I was wondering what people thought about it? I also created a similar thread over at reddit with lots of great feedback and input:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/4ae5jv/its_been_one_year_since_stability_mechanics_were
The stability changes impact all three game types, so I wondering what people liked or disliked about it!
I personally think it needs some improvement. From my experience it’s had minimal impact on PvE, a medium one on PvP and huge one on WvW.
What are your thoughts?
With the amount of boon corruption and crazy CC going around, stability feels very useless since this change was applied.
Yeah. WvW became much less enjoyable after this change.
I still very much hate the stability change
One of the biggest nails in the coffin for WvW.
i voted for the return of alpine, but i dont completely agree. i want wvw to flourish, i dont want the wvw dev team to have all of their hard work scrapped. its a huge waste for everyone. i think it can be reshaped to be smaller and flatter like a lot of people in the “your top5 wvw priorities” thread are calling for.
The oasis event was 99/100 times won by the group that had money people in the oasis. It really wasn’t a great comeback mechanic. Anyways glad its gone since it was one of the big demands.
Money people? I am sorry but what the heck are you talking about????
Yeah that was a typo sorry. Bigger numbers ended up winning the oasis event since it really wasn’t that hard to show up to every spawning dino.
I dunno, I’m on GH server and I have never heard anyone cry out lag, and this was good because it bought fights for us.
