New to GW2, not having fun

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Aberrant.6749

For me the game gets boring for two reasons:

1. PVE is extremely repetitive and uninteresting, with extremely boring rewards.

- Levels 1-80, the goal is the get XP and level up. Which involves doing boring, repetitive hearts, map completion, or world events. While doing these things I often find myself in a Zombie state, or autodrive mode. Just absentmindedly pressing buttions and moving on to the next thing that will get me XP.

- After level 80 is reached, the goal then become to gear up and get cool stuff. This is where the game fails miserably for me. The drop rate on all the coolest things that I want are so impossibly low, that there is almost no hope to get them through random drops. That leaves only one option. Mindless, monotonous grinding for gold, and buying it on the TP. < not my idea of fun in anyway.

2. Elitism is getting pretty bad in this game.

- While GW2 community is certainly not the worst I’ve ever experienced… (cough SWTOR) … it’s definitely not the best gaming community out there.

- Dungeon Runners (not all) are the worst. I love running dungeons in MMOs. I find them fun and exciting and rewarding. But here, Elitism rules the dungeons: You must be full zerker! You must be level 80! You must have run this path 1000 times before! You must skip everything and speedrun! And the worst one, You must have 8000+ AP! < lol what the heck does AP have to do with anything?

- This kind of thing is far too common in this game and completely kills my joy for Dungeons. Rather than feed the Leets, I just avoid Dungeons as much as I can.

The game is ok in small doses, but it quickly loses its appeal for me because of those two reasons.

There are plenty of anyone welcome/casual/play how you want type runs. Don’t see one? Start one yourself.

I’m for letting people play how they want without criticism weather that be speed or anyone welcome/casual/play how you want. Unfortunately I see a lot of bashing coming from the anyone welcome/casual/play how you want side aimed at the speed side (ironic).

Just find players that play in the same way that you do and enjoy. Don’t try to shove yourself into a party that doesn’t want your playstyle, that’s what causes problems.

I’ve played a lot of mmo’s and this one is one of the better ones when it comes to having a selection of play styles in parties.

Silv.9207 – literally nothing you described is new. You are more or less complaining that mesmers exist. This is a ltp issue.

Darknicrofia.2604 – This is not an argument that mesmers should be nerfed. You actually support my point that other classes need to be buffed.

zapv.8051 – One of the first posts I made on this board was an analysis of why burst gameplay in gw2 was bad for all gameplay. But, basically, because self-healing is so high, and because all your health regenerates when out of combat, there is no attrition in this game. Because there’s no attrition, in order to be able to kill a ‘bunker’, damage builds need a way to burst them down, either solo or as a pair of two. It’s a huge flaw fundamental to gw2 design.

Nier.8741 – This is exactly what I’m talking about. The game will be better when all classes are like mesmer, and none are like current engi and necro. There have been too many interesting ways to play classes that have been flat out removed by being nerfed to oblivion. The game has gotten less strategically diverse as time goes on.

So… basically you’re in favor of another power creep after this previous one?

A well done nerf won’t nerf a build into the ground and make it unusable. It’ll bring it in line with everything else.

While bringing up all other classes to match the problem classes/build might sound good to you, that’s a LOT more work than just bringing the problem classes/builds down. I would much rather have a faster fix and have my mes/ele toned down a bit rather than have things stay as they are for longer. A-net isn’t exactly pumping out the balance fixes…

The power creep has nothing to do with mesmer changes.
Its because of how they removed stats from traits and added it to rest of gear.
So basicly the power creep is equal for everyone and i love it.
There is still bunkers builds which is abomination to kill
but its not so dominant anymore.

I disagree that it only has to do with the stats being moved. The traits that are now available due to having 3 full trait lines also has a lot to do with it.

We need stealth counter skills

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Aberrant.6749

Aberrant.6749

Since this seems to be mostly focusing on thieves, I’ll address thief stealth.

You can prevent a thief from stealthing with any skill they use other than blinding powder.

If you mess that up, you can still mitigate or punish the thief when they go for their burst.

You can’t capture when in stealth, so if you stealth and your opponent does not, they will begin to capture.

That’s plenty of counterplay.

What people seem to be asking for isn’t more counterplay, but more hard counters because they don’t want to deal with stealth at all. I understand some players don’t enjoy that type of gameplay, but more hard counters are just not necessary.

Minimum Upbidding

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Aberrant.6749

As others have said the trading post is not an auction house and there is no problem to be solved here.

If you need the item quickly, buy it straight off the tp and don’t put in a buy order. That’s not what that part of the trading post is for and you’re using it incorrectly. You are the problem in this scenario.

If you don’t mind getting it later, put in a bid within the normal range for that item and then ignore it. Don’t know the normal range that an item sells for? gw2spidy has charts that will show you.

Trying to just get a better deal on it vs. the “retail” price to flip? So are your competitors. Forcing higher increments on subsequent bids will just lower your savings and thus lower your profits.

These also apply when some one undercuts you by 1c. Need gold now? Sell to highest bidder. Don’t mind waiting? List it within the normal range and wait. Forcing greater differences between listings =’s lower profits.

I talked about burning guardians and physical Warrior right after the patch landed. At that time, people still complained about how underpowered guardians/warriors are, because they got stuck in the old mindset. They didn’t try burning guardians or rampage. Now everyone complain about burning guard and rampage.

Quit playing the old style Necro/Ranger, and you will see how strong they are. Use your creativity.

People should not complain about Rampage as that’s the only thing going for Warriors. But people complain just because an elite skill is strong in melee and their blinders prevent them from seeing that Rampage is very easily countered.

I think rampage is too strong and is propping up war in an unhealthy way. Rampage needs to be toned down a lil and non-rampage stuff on war need to be brought up a lil.

Awful Female Human Heavy Armor Art Design

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Chainmail Bikini Syndrome has been a plague on the fantasy community for so many years that it isn’t going away anytime soon. Love it or hate it it’s just the way it is. GW2 isn’t nearly as bad as most games in the genre. I would love to see more FULL coverage female heavy armors though, and fewer(none) exposed skin death traps, but I can accept that lots of people don’t agree.

we are on the same boat
i would love to have more full coverage armor
an i wouldnt mind, even appreciate no korean type eposed heavy armor
sexy dont have to be showing skin, a good fit full coverage showing the perfect bodyline is way sexier than bikini

You should be happy with the status quo then since a majority of the existing heavy female armors are practically puritan in their sensibilities.

Not me, I want armor to look like armor. I personally just despise badly designed armor, regardless of which stupid fallacy they pick, be it chainmail bikini or skin tight metal catsuit.

It’s fine though, I’m used to most fantasy armor being ridiculous looking trash covered in cleave points, with zero thought given to it’s ability to actually function as armor. And that applies to most of the men’s armor as well.

So you want hyper realistic armor in fantasy games where people are shooting fireballs, turning invisible, making copies of themselves that can fight, etc. Seems kinda weird to me, but ok I guess?

The one objective part of armor criticism is how >50% of the female armor is insanely skimpy. This looks stupid for light or medium armor but downright idiotic for heavy, as there’s no way this’d be any help in combat.

Now, even then it’d be acceptable – if the male armor looked similar. For many armor types, male and female armors don’t look like they’re part of the same set. Plus as I said, it looks stupid.

Except this isn’t being objective at all. I’ll list skimpy (truly skimpy at least by GW2 standards which is much more modest than every other fantasy (besides ESO and AoC) MMOs I’ve played) sets, blended sets and full coverage sets for you concerning armor (I won’t touch medium, that’s just 99.9% trenchcoat ugliness)

Skimpy (6) Which is: 12%
Grasping Dead
Gladiator
Barbaric
Pit Fighter
Zodiac (I guess, since it doesn’t actually show skin)
Flame Wrath

Blended (6) Which is: 12%
Priory
Whisper’s
Vigil
Scallywag
Phalanx
Braham’s

Covered (38) Which is: 76%
Ascalonian
Council
Nightmare
Forgeman (tied with ugliest in my opinion)
Flame Leagion (tied with ugliest in my opinion)
Koda
Inquest
Commander’s
Avenger’s
Protector’s
Chain
Militia
Scale
Splint
Tempered
Draconic
Illustrious
Worn Chain
Heavy Plate
Dark Templar
Studded Plate
Armageddon
Chainmail
Worn Scale
Reinforced Scale
Banded
Guild Defender
Heavy Scale
Glorious
Glorious Hero’s
Heritage
Hellfire
Radiant
Carapace
Luminescent
Atherblade
Primeval
Rampart

Please stop perpetuating the myth that GW2 heavy armors are skimpy. The reason you think they are is because the skimpy armors are preferred so you’re really seeing the same ones over and over again. Asking for variety should not be so opposed.

I debated about carapace and lumi given the one thigh you can see a little bit of, but over aesthetics (especially from behind) give the feel of full coverage to me.

Agreed, there is already a lot of covered up armor options in gw2. They should work more on balancing out the options.

Why are there so many tryhards?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Aberrant.6749

IMO it’s not “elitist” to try to have a fast smooth run.

Indeed. When the time and effort put into having a perfect group for that smooth run outweights time the same dungeon path would have taken with average puggers however (and in many cases it does), the situation changes.

The speed/faster run parties that I’ve been apart of aren’t looking for a totally perfect group. They just want some one that’s meta and not really bad at the game.

I have seen lfg posts for class X with build Y only or kick, but that’s very rare.

There are players that would prefer to spend slightly longer looking to have a clean run rather than deal with some frustration if the party makeup is bad. You can always be alt/tabbed, playing the tp, or whatever while looking for players. It just depends on what the people involved value. It’s their game… however others choose to play is fine with me.

WvW (dis)balance.

Looking for balance in WvW (the least balanced part of GW2) is silly. WvW is unbalanced in far more fundamental and significant ways than class X is UP or OP. I enjoy WvW but I don’t play it for any sort of balanced gameplay. If I want that I go to PvP.

WvW is not balance due player numbers and coverage not classes imbalances, based on high damage values where the groups that has more X class with X build wins, on WvW each class had several roles in combat and that actually is extant.

For a large part yes it’s numbers/coverage. It’s also the PvE gear stats + food + gear differences… and the list goes on and on. WvW would need a massive overhaul to be even remotely balanced. I doubt A-net wants to put that many resources into it.

Aberrant.6749

Did you join a zerker only LFG? Are you a power necro or a condi necro? A lot of this stuff matters. Also Ralanost, just because you don’t want the dungeon to take longer than it needs to doesn’t mean you’re an elitist.

Actually, that’s kind of exactly what it means.

It means you refuse to do anything that you deem “Imperfect”, including taking on a party member that “Hampers” your DPS. I can’t even do the level 35 dungeon because of people like that.

The dungeon levels in this game are misleading. Explorable dungeons are for the most part done by 80s. It’s possible to do with the level minimum for the dungeon but that makes things much slower than it needs to be and most pug people won’t accept sub 80s in their explorable dungeon runs.

IMO it’s not “elitist” to try to have a fast smooth run. Feels like a lot of anger or resentment from the casual crowd in this thread : /

I really hope you’re not trying to say that people that want faster than casual runs shouldn’t even use the LFG tool…

He meant PuG version of a “speed” run, i.e., not too slow.

Indeed, not world record setting speed runs, but full zerk with meta classes and builds. It won’t be as fast as a full on premade, but faster than the casual type runs.

Casual/play how I want ppl stick with anyone welcome etc. groups. Do this and the casuals are happy. Casuals in a speed run group = OMG why did I get kicked??? -> go on the forums to complain.

Stick with people who have similar playstyles and stop trashing others for how they like to play the game. Stop with the self righteousness. There is no best way to play for everyone.

The problem is that actual speed runners that have any clue what they are doing don’t show such behavior.
The people that join a casual LFG and then complain its taking forever and ragequit are people that think metabattle is the holy grail and that they are the best players in the world just by using a certain build, and then expect other people to have the same mindset

Please stop trying to bash people who chose to play differently from you. It’s not helping.

No true scottsman fallacy.

I’ve been in many good speed runs where it’s obvious one person wasn’t pulling their weight for whatever reason and they got booted. When the player is replaced everything went extremely smoothly.

I have also seen casuals try to join a speed run that when asked link gear, they link a bunch of defensive PVT type gear, are using a PP built thief, etc., then get upset when they get kicked.

It’s not just one side or the other, both try to shove what they like onto the other from time to time. I don’t know why though, seems pretty childish. Just stick with players that want to play the same way that you do.

Personally idc which type of party it is and I can adjust. Dragon Nest (Ftp) is a nice game , animations and skills are amazing but skills root you in place.

The secret World (Btp) is nice, your in hand weapon changes your classe. But you have to use your brain in a few situations.(quests …)

Vindictus (ftp) is ok.

I played Dragon Nest before GW2. It became pretty P2W, so I’ve never gone back. It is a very fun game though. More action slanted. Felt like a 3d fighter with some rpg elements (lots of combos you can pull off).

That would be nice, but has nothing to do with the OP’s suggestion. Pretty sure the choice would be about choosing to raise the account-wide MF, Gold, or Karma percentage.

What if you could choose between Magic Find and the other account bonuses, Gold Find, Karma Gain, and XP Gain? Let some crafting disciplines transmute Essences of Luck into things that buff the other account bonuses.

Reads to me like please give us the option to allocate luck into whatever bonuses we choose.

Dark Matter sink?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Aberrant.6749

Aberrant.6749

just make ascended insignias or inscriptions and sell those

Yup, it’s about 10-15g profit each if you know what you’re doing.

Why does it have to adapt already existing weapons?

New mystic forge weapons requiring 30-50 Dark Matter would be better IMHO. But would have to be account bound on acquire, because the material is just that.

Like, dark smoke effect opaque weapons would be amazing. Maybe like the Chaos Weapons but black.

There are already tons of stuff out there that require account or soulbound stuff which produce non-account/non-soulbound items. Ascended insignias/inscriptions/food…

Some people don’t want/need anymore ascended items, so having another sink for Dark Matter would be great spent on introducing new weapon recipes for the Mystic Forge. Whether you think that being able to craft those items to make gold is an option, other people would like other cosmetic things for there efforts instead of 50g. Because not everyone likes to craft, but everyone likes having skins.

The question wasn’t what to do with excess Dark Matter, but to have another personal use for it.

You do know that you can turn gold into cosmetic items in GW2 right? I see no real reason for having exclusive skins crafted from dark matter in addition to the ascended weapons.

just make ascended insignias or inscriptions and sell those

Yup, it’s about 10-15g profit each if you know what you’re doing.

Why does it have to adapt already existing weapons?

New mystic forge weapons requiring 30-50 Dark Matter would be better IMHO. But would have to be account bound on acquire, because the material is just that.

Like, dark smoke effect opaque weapons would be amazing. Maybe like the Chaos Weapons but black.

There are already tons of stuff out there that require account or soulbound stuff which produce non-account/non-soulbound items. Ascended insignias/inscriptions/food…

You also need to take into consideration that conditions can be cleansed unlike direct damage. That will cause a large drop in condition damage if used properly. This doesn’t happen in PvE, but in PvP/WvW it most certainly does.

This is a very dangerous move by Arena net that will only hurt their image very severely. So instead of asking your customers for this idea. suggestions and their opinions about this very dangerous design: you do it anyways.

It is the same idea and mindset Arena net using for thief profession stealth. But this time, they cross the line. Forcing their ideas and belief to their customers is not acceptable.

Example:

It is like putting a religious staff in the main entrance of the building for service.

I do not have problem with any belief, religion etc… but i have a problem with a company who believes forcing their beliefs into their customers. Belief is private and personal

Arena net should know better than that: i am very disappointed Arena net!!

Suggestion:

Allow the npc to be selected in players personal and private guild halld.

" Freedom isn’t forcing your beliefs on others "

I’m throwing a party and I have TONS of snacks. Cake is one of the items, along with chips, soda, crackers, cookies, jello, tapas, etc. The cake is there. You don’t have to eat the cake. You don’t even have to look at the cake if you don’t want to. By having cake at my house, I am not “forcing my beliefs” about cake on you. The cake is merely there, because cake exists, and some people like cake.

Please tell that to my friend Bob. He’s still mad about the non-tofu dogs I had at my bbq : /

This is a gorgeous set. I would prefer that the individual pieces were smaller but I love the art design. This is the first set where I would be willing to spend whatever it took to get the entire set. But I do not craft and so do not have ascended weapons ankitten ot going to buy skins for non BiS gear.

You can always put the skins on your ascended gear with transmutation charges once you get them. When you use the skin, it goes into your wardrobe and you can apply them later on to whatever. Transmutation charges are pretty easy to get from map completion and/or PvP reward tracks (you can also buy them in the gem shop but that’s wasteful imo).

Time to move on was probably five minutes before posting that it was time to move on. If you were actually leaving, why oh why do you feel the need to announce it. It’s almost like you think you’re passing will impact the game or the community in some way. It will not. If you’re leaving, just leave. If you’re not leaving, then don’t be so dramatic.

He might well have just basically been saying goodbye to some friends he has on the forums and at the same time he’s letting a-net know why he’s so displeased that he’s decided to quit. I see nothing wrong with it. Why do you seem to be so defensive of this game and/or update to the point where you feel the need to try and silence the voice of others?

This is a pretty vocal community, but I’m not really seeing an outcry. Seems like there’s far more support than complaints, which is odd for these forums. I think there probably is less choice…but I like the choices I do have better.

There are a lot of studies that back up the idea that if people are given more choices they will be generally less happy with what they get at the end. Some people do like having more choices though.

I don’t understand..how adding more builds and more ways to play your class…“dumbed down/cookie cutter”

STOP USING ZERKS and make something fun for once. God kitten meta games. Every single one of them are the same in every game

Damage > everything

Meta = I don’t want to play this game. How do I make it ungodly easy??

They are saying that you have fewer options for your build now. Before you could pick and choose from however many lines if you had enough points, now you must go fully into 3. Before you could pick and choose from that tier or below, now you must choose one from that tier. It’s simpler now.

Most LFG parties I see around are not Zerk/meta or get out. They do exist though.

How about we let everyone play the way they enjoy and not criticize other people for their choices or try and shove what you enjoy on others…

Zerk/meta types have their parties, if you’re not that type of player, you have other parties to choose from, or you can create your own.

Zerks/meta types don’t go into an anyone welcome party then complain about the pistol pistol thieves etc. Everyone’s happy,

Oh but they do it all the time and kitten and whine and moan and complain. It’s sickening. I see more viable builds than before despite not having the 5 tree choice. People just need to explore and actually test for longer than ohh….6 hours. tops.

I have done both casual and speed runs regularly. I don’t mind helping out slower or newer players run dungeons when I have the time. Some times I want to just get the dung done fast and go do something else in game. I don’t really have a dog in this fight, but I’ll share what I’ve seen in general.

Overall I’ve seen far more casual players try to force themselves into speed runs than the other way around. The other does happen, but more often than not I’ll see some one in a lesser skilled casual group get called an elitist (etc) and get shoved into that camp by the other players when they aren’t meta speedrunners, but just don’t want to deal with wiping a lot of times.

Not quite sure how you’re defining “viable”. I can go into a dung and beat it in a reasonable time with a group of friends with no traits what so ever and some people would therefore consider that “viable”. I would call “viable” to be at least 90% as efficient as a meta build. I’m not seeing a lot of that. It looks like there are 1-2 builds per class then a large dropoff in efficiency. Things are still very new, but this is what I’ve seen after poking around thusfar and people could have missed things.

Reveal on missed BS

i really wish they would at least post it on patch notes~
oh and assisted rocket triggers of anything, has 10sec CD and hits like truck, because fire/air procs weren’t enough~

definitely not buying xpac, eff this crap, back to league

I guess it’s time to get gud

friendly reminder only bad players think thief is overpowered

Overpowered? Not game breakingly. Poorly designed with all of the burden of skill on the defending party? Definitely.

This change is long overdue.

by far the dumbest post defending a bug i’ve seen in a while

Come back when you have something to say that isn’t just “ubad” and “udumb” assuming you can manage it. Its hilarious to see thieves having to deal with the whole “gitgud” schtick idiots like you perpetuate for once lol.

nothing you’ve posted warrants an actual response given how shallow it is. you’re more than likely an embittered player talking about a clear and obvious bug as if it’s a positive balance change without actually giving a logical explanation as to why it’s “imbalanced” that someone has to play defensively against someone playing offensively when counterplay to that offensive mechanic already exists. you don’t give any details or put any effort into articulating as to why it’s a good thing, you just spout “THIEF NERF GOOD!!!” and act like dismissing your rambling isn’t a valid response.

so please, try harder next time

I’d think the “entire burden of skill being on the defending party” part would be the valid explanation. Sorry that you actually need someone to spell it out for you, but block, block, block, block, block, block, block, block, 7k backstab is not good game design and rewards unskilled play. Backstab still works great as a sneak attack, but now it actually requires skill to land instead of brain dead spam while in a fight. Thieves now have to actually bait out defenses and use burst setups/misdirection to land their burst like the rest of the kittening game instead of just going 1111111111111111111111111111111111111 and burning through block charges and evades with 0 penalty or risk while invisible. Oh god your class finally has some actual counterplay, better scream and cry about it.

There is already plenty of counter-play vs thief stealth. You can prevent them from entering stealth other than with blinding powder. Adding this in would allow you to prevent them from entering stealth and then give you extreme ez mode counter-play after as well.

It’s gotta be a bug since the other stealth attacks are not behaving in this way anyways though.

I don’t main thief and don’t even usually use it for the daily (I’ll choose the other one) and I think it’s dumb as all kitten to think this is the way the class should operate. Then again some players seem to become grazing cattle when faced with stealth…

Anyone else bought a char slot with gold?

I paid 143 gold for 800 gems. Now have a char slot Revernant. Pretty happy:)

Just letting folks know they can do that if they are frustrated they don’t have any slots left. I think its nice we have that option!
With silk being worth so much I made almost 300 gold by selling what I had in mah bank!

everyone can choose to work longer to pay for a higher cost. Thats doesnt really change the fact that you have to do it.

the gold you sold has a monetary value of around 11-12 dollars for anet.

Yup, the gem exchange is basically just a rl $->gold market. There would be no gems to buy with gold if no one bought gems with $ (A-net still gets their $). It is true that you have this as an option though.

500 Jeweller - New stats [suggestion]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Aberrant.6749

Aberrant.6749

although we’re not sure what’s the purpose of getting Jewellery to 500 when you can get the ascended amulet, ring and accessory by using laurels/commendation. legendary backpiece ?

I’m hoping it will enable us to create infusions and jewels with special effects, like poly-lumi or preserved queen bee. And/or give us tools that allow us to change stats on ascended armor or weapons.

I would be all over it if they added infusions that added special effects :O

There are currently still a couple of stats that I don’t think you can get on ascended jewelry (iirc). Carrion comes to mind (although that would only possibly be used by a minority of WvW players). Craft-able infusions could be big.

They did say long ago that they would be increasing every craft to 500, but I don’t know if they’ll actually be going through with that or they just stopped with the ones that they currently have.

500 cooking would be nice too. Butter + slab of red meat = legendary food. Make it happen A-net.

Aberrant.6749

im so done with weapon skins, i cant keep up anymore and they are releasing them faster than ever lately, it must be because they arnt selling so well anymore

maybe they should move on to black lion armor skins?

Selling and making them faster if they aren’t doing well would be a troublesome escalation of commitment. Likely they have data on sale trends and they probably slow down after about two weeks. I could see that. Dry times are wasted potential.

Its a pain to do the black lion collections if you only have 3 weeks. We used to have 4-6 weeks to get those 700-1000g (+ the 7 tickets from the previous collection).
It wouldnt be so bad if the black lion achievements would not exist, but they do so I feel forced to do them. Currently at 16 completed collections.

Where was it stated that they’ll be around for 3 weeks? I would like to pick some of these up, but obviously want to wait for the prices to drop a bit.

What is the advantage of playing WVW now?

in WvW

Posted by: Aberrant.6749

Aberrant.6749

If the rewards were too good, it would draw in too many casual players and hurt WvW gameplay. WvW has limited capacity, and the people who play it are playing it because they like it, not because it is the fastest way to get rich or has the exclusive weapon skins.

I think that Anet’s original plan was for scouts and roamers to farm T6 mats near objectives when things were quiet. Arctoduses in the northeast, spiders in the south, minotaurs in the west…

Take for example Northeast Camp:

  • Capturing Camp = 0.04% of a World Experience Rank.
  • Defending Camp = 0.017% of a World Experience Rank.
  • Killing Player = 0.000-0.012% of a World Experience Rank and chance at player loot.
  • 1 World Experience Rank = ~25s and 2 pieces of loot, probably green
  • Killing 4 Arctoduses and a Vet Arctodus = significant chance for either Potent Blood or Powerful Blood.

As a scout/escorter/roamer (missing out on those high wxp capture events), you are likely to make more money killing a random bear every once in awhile than you get from WxP ranks. I wonder if the new borderland will have anything similar to Chider…

Indeed, especially considering that these mobs are left untouched for extremely long periods of time which increases the chance of good loot from them. I have some favorite groups of random mobs I like to kill in WvW just because of this.

OP states success at 1vX, then complains that 2s of revealed messes with him being able to 1vX. Guess what. You’re not supposed to be able to 1vX, so long as all players are of equal skill.

I truly hope this doesn’t get fixed, and this revealed after not-attacking stays. And I pretty much only play thief, all builds.

I’m sure they aren’t of equal skill. Most people in WvW almost turn into grazing cattle when faced with stealth.

It’s really not hard to deal with a heavy stealth thief. You can prevent stealth from everything other than blinding powder and even if you fail at that you can punish the thief if they try to come in for a backstab.
