There are a few other options but they are also expensive . One is Firebringer which is a gladius that glows red when wielded at 156 gold and one is the Stygian blade which goes for 144 gold . Neither is ideal of course but they are far less expensive than crafting an ascended weapon .

Do yourself a favor and dont call it a Monk since that was the healing class in GW1 .

The reason you could do HM in GW1 was because everything was instanced which simply isn’t the case in GW2 . This would limit the content to Dungeons /Fractals since that’s the only instanced content in the game and i believe it was said they didn’t want to divide the player base any more than they had to. In other words dont expect HM any time soon

After some further research on it its going to be near impossible to get both look and weapons as your best bet with looks is light and best bet with weapons is heavy . If mediums weren’t so tenchcoaty it would be the ideal compromise as some of the Norn female armors would work for the lower half and engineers have access to Rifle ( and Shield which Pyrrha also has ) .

Honestly i would work on map completion of Wayfarers and Queensdale as they are the 2 easiest maps to complete for a newbie. They also both have Meta Events which are large events with big rewards at the end of them ( Shadow Behemoth or SB for short and Maw ). If you see either one called out while in the zone its worth a visit .

Honestly even if you were mix and match the skimpiest of light armor sets in GW2 it still wouldn’t be that bad compared to other MMOs out there .

Well in GW 1 you could also do something like Ruins of Morah or Gates of Kryta 6 million times too though . In some ways this gave GW1 an advantage cause you could go to early missions and help lowbies if you wanted maybe even making a new friend in the process . With that said however i disagree that GW2 missions don’t have replay value . There is a difference between replay ability and replay value . They both have replay value and there some missions i absolutely love in both but what GW2 lacks is the ability to replay the missions .

Oh please; let’s all be honest here. Sooner or later every single one of us will be going after a set of ascended armor. We’ll just also be stocking up on fine transmutation stones when we do. It is in the nature of the MMO player; sooner or later the addiction to larger numbers wins out. And the only thing that will stop you from getting Ascended armor is legendary armor.

Seriously? When they were first anounced, I thought at first I was actually going to get a set of ascended weapons. Completely changed my mind when I saw how freaking ugly they were. I will absolutely NOT (let me emphasize this) n-o-t, NOT be getting this armor. It’s not worth my time.

Wouldn’t the better idea then to have it be based on where you are not ? Have the Queensdale Daily be for killing Charr or doing events in Plains of Ashford for instance or if you’re in Frostgorge it should send you to Mount Maelstrom . That would truly spread people out

During one particularly harsh winter Trahearne and a group of pact soldiers were traversing the shiverpeaks when a blizzard struck and they got bogged down . Trahearne was used as kindling the end .

not quite sure what the OP istalking about the lore is everywhere .Try reading one of those books laying around DR the priory or Malchiors Leap . Many of the personal story elements have lore in them such as in the sanguinary blade where they talk about Dagnar Stonepate or in AC story which is one big loregasim .

Guild Wars 2 is a PvE game, with some pvp as a bonus. Just the way I like it. But I can understand the frustration for pvp/wvw players, the game could use some more pvp/wvw content.

The game could use actual Guild Wars. GvG and HA were the top 2 features in GW and they are nonexistent in GW2.

getting to level 28 in 3 days is actually pretty good . . There really isn’t any need to rush to 80 though . GW is a game that should be played at your own pace and not feel like you need to rush anywhere . If you’re into exploring and haven’t started work on the zone yet though i would suggest Lonars Pass , it runs from level 25-40 and covers a lot of ground which means a lot of exploration XP.

I played GW1 before the Sorrows Furnace update and my main was a mesmer from year 1-7 so that should tell you something about my GW1 experience and i do think you should give GW 2 another shot .

One thing you cant do is look at GW 2 in the same way you did GW 1 cause its a completely different beast .

My first advice is to find your play style . I HATED melee in GW1 but its not so bad in GW2 and on the flip side i loved my ele in GW1 and im so not a fan in GW2 . Dont just play a class for a few levels then dump it either some dont take off till about half way .

Point two there are no tanks or monks for that matter so learn to dodge . Just because you have that fancy metal armor doesn’t make you immune to needing to dodge a big AoE so learn tells or you will be D-E-A-D DEAD .

Point 3 Find a guild or guilds and a server that fulfills your needs weather its PvE PvP or RP. ( kinda self explanatory that one )

I would like to see a hammer on an engie before considering additional weapons for other classes .

The risen are infinite respawn as i remember so you just have to force your way forward bit by bit .

I doubt they would make laurels a way to get ascended weapons and if they did it would likely be an insanely high price + ecto

it can be 4 rares or 4 exotics of the same type but it has to be the same type . keep in mind however your chances arn’t that great so you’re gonna be spending a lot of money on the mystic toilet in all likelyhood

This is kind of like asking them to remove clones from a mesmer or kits from an engineer . Its a primary function of the class that cant simply be removed . You always have the LB warrior or SB thief if you want to use a bow but not a pet .

Well we cant really help you get enjoyment out of the game without really knowing what you enjoy about it to begin with so lets start there . What aspects of each class or even the game do you like the best and perhaps more importantly what dont you like and why ? Also why so many characters? It’s not a bad thing per se but personally think this splits your time up between characters too much for someone with limited time . Once you’ve narrowed down your favorite classes try to stick to those for a while then when they hit 80 you can move on to your alts

pretty much the only similarity is that neither has weapon swap so pick your weapons with care .

Eles can be squishy because they have the lowest health for their weight class but that can be mitigated by traits and timing your dodging properly . The Ele gets its diverity through its attunements giving you access to 20 weapon skills

The engie although they only have access to 3 weapons gets their diversity from thier kits, elixers and other gadgets which more than makes up for it .

i say try both and see what you like best

You dont always need an expansion for a big update . GW1 added zones without expansions so why couldn’t it be done here? I could certainly see living story add the Crystal Desert or Maguma Wastes perhaps even further north into the Shiverpeaks who knows .
