oh don’t worry i didn’t take it personal, i was just explaining my feeling about it, i really wanted to enjoy the elementalist, but so far it didn’t give me the same fun i have with my mesmer. i think it’s just a personal taste. you have a point though, 2 guildies of mine are proper elementalist they make elementalist look like they are easy to play!

you assume she would live through the 250 years and see the world changing, and in 250 years i bet anyone can change his mind about things.

if she could be somehow revived now from the past, maybe she would be just shocked, before even notice the charr, about anything (especially mesmers themselves^^).

she could just chase flame legion as we all do and bless logan with his bromance for rytlock… i mean if she is still on her right mind, she could agree that dragons are a far worst enemy than some furry furballs with horns

well, i tryed my best with what i had at the mount maelstrom personal story

(you have to stop krait carrying the infamous orb that you ill use later in fort trinity)

on that mission is impossible to pull few krait at a time, they just come all, poison the hell out of you, block you etc etc.

i tryed, d/d, staff, condition removing, teleporting, i kyted all the area aggroing in the process more mobs, than you finally make it to the champion krait kitten that have 2 adds and a lot of aoe, and you just die there.

i’m not saying eles are not viable pve classes, i’m saying i’m not a viable elementalist and so are a lots of player around here stuck with ele and their mechanics.
it is the most stupidly difficoult class to master and use, the only fun besides crafting i can have from ele is protected by a zerg in wvw be just a weapon of mass destruction, until someone notice me and kill me just pressing tab

same reason i hate warriors banner during events… oh god so much i hate them

my elementalist was a pain to level via pve, and i did most of my personal story with my boyfriend protecting my rear all the time.
some personal story in mount maelstrom (i was already lv 80 but with no proper gear) finished with me naked when i tryed alone, than my boyfriend guradian came and destroyed anything while i was just following…

i had same prolem with mesmer at low level, but than at certain point after lv 40 i never died in personal story ever, not even against the mouth of zhaitan before nerf.

i hate my elementalist so much now that i’m using it only to craft

i think this would create third party timer that just say to people how much time that boss has been up, actually it could lead to not killing some mob just so they can give more exp and loot.
no problem with more exp since you are getting exp for everything but chatting, but when mobs increase loot… well it would be a matter of timer for harvesting purposes

sorry if i rained on this parade but unless we grow some common sense in the community we can’t have nice things i guess

some bosses though are immune to everything related to control and can suffer only some conditions and direct damage

i wish this game had no stats in armors, only runes, like pvp.

CAN make up to 40 crystalline dust, but also can be 12

well people can be very selfish, few people nowadays do any content that can be slowed down by other players (i don’t know what these people expect from an mmo with this single player attitude, but it’s full of them out there).

so fractal, indeed a voice chat would be awesome! but we don’t have it, and you can’t force people in teamspeak, can you?
although there are only two fractals that start in a very bad spot, shaman and svanir all the other fractals give you plenty of time to explain what to do.

i never ever left a party in no dungeon even fractals because of first timers (not even when nobody actually listened of tactics on what to do)… i wish people out there could do the same, but they are busy asking here an inspect feature, and whining about everything else they don’t like, as magic find or other stats rather than berserker or entire builds because they read somewhere those builds have not the seal of approval of jerks!

nobody in my guild had me saying: not coming to you in this dungeon because i cannot be bothered to explain it to you (same viceversa, nobody ever told me, just to get out because they couldn’t use their fingers to chat some lines before running the content)

they did state in patch notes, i do’t remember the exact wording but was something like:
now karka won’t harass player trying to enter the new istance for the living story

yes and marry him with hearts over my head whenever we are near.
i really would love it, but i think the grim and dark lovers in gw2 community would puke their souls out.

at least if you are so lucky to open one you get something useful, but i have km of silk that i’m actually tired of finding silk everywhere, i have more silk than china.
and even worse than that what do i do with all that putrid essence that make my heart jump than i remember i am in orr and realize that that wooden chest is probably it?

people dared to farm those, so they actually managed to extinguish karka in that area

i had to buy most of my 750 pile of t6 dust…
some friend just gave me his from time to time (he was using it for charged cores transmutations). but the dust was at a certain point very rare to acquire, while when i started to play high level area (november) it was easy to acquire (the first stack of dust i just farmed it back than while i was not even farming it because i wanted ecto for my first exotic set).
last time i checked in the tp there were less the 1k t6 dust. it means bifrost it’s costing even more that sunrise at this pace.

instead we are so full of vile of putrid essence (it comes in a wooden chest like rare drop) that it cost 50ish copper.

i want to add something, all fantasy games begin with tolkjen and ands with dungeons and dragons. gandalf a mage could use a sword, while every wizard in dungeons and dragons could at least use a dagger as weapon.

i think it’s stupid to consider ranger only bow proficiency. what is specifically forbbiding them to learn how to swing a great sword?
and what’s wrong with more option, more fantasy, and more freedom from stupid class stereotypes?

you act like oblivion was never there to teach you something useful about fantasy and roles…

i finish saying that i’m glad there is no monk. so i don’t have to build a party for doing anything, i just go with what people bring with them

i perfectly know the feeling, i was in the karka events, and i get a pair of gloves or leggins, i can’t even remember with the rune of travellers, or dolyak. no precursor. so when you talk about rains of precursor i don’t know what you mean.

the new skin… the same friend of mine have 2 fused and 1 sclerite (and a mystic forged precursor). i’m happy for him but i’m sick of luck account bound.

wvwvw players being hammered by ascended gear sounds like an exageration…
and hundreds of mats for just +5 stat is an exageration too… should be 5 t6 not 100

and btw clones does real damage only when shattered, so i don’t see a problem with keeping them when target dies

i would be so happy about it.. at least when tons of mobs swarm an area we shouldn’t star again since this means less tag for loot.
but i already can see people crying to the wall of despair on how the mesmers are already overpowered without them to be able to have illusions always up.

this would remove the problem of people not getting the ticket but increase the problem of people that want to complete their achievement and aren’t dropping the crates, so resolving rng problem by shifting rng to another thing is not a solution, but a different issue

we can’t have nice things because people have no decency or common sense, we can’t have loot from mobs in events, from bosses’ adds, we can’t have reasonable runs in dungeons, we need to farm the life out of us for stack of mats for anything in this game because people speedrun everything…
and in future we will not be able to delete and create characters any longer, you wait and see

i’m only said because luck never turns around here, people that already found the molten ticket in black lion chest, already found also the karka ticket from the random crate…
and there are people that got nothing so far.

at least we can rely on the guaranteed achievement prize!

oh i’m a mesmer too, and celestial allow me to make some weapons not included in my build more efficient, and even if my weapon of choice are slightly less effective, i can be more versatile and basically not hopeless in situation that are completely new to me.

also i put the build to the test in pvp and i was worried everybody could wipe me and i couldn’t kill a rabbit… but actually i’m doing fine!

you can actually tell easier if they are friendly or not, you’ll see for yourself.

i finally saw all the circles (colorblind here) and i was amazed at how many in certain area they can be! no wonder i used to dodge improperly!

what’s the point of being worried of people wearing magic find in dungeons when you are never killing trash mobs and just speed running from boss to boss to open a chest that isn’t affected by magic find?
there are only couple of dungeon worthing magic find and they are all in fractals (dredge only in corridors, shaman (only the first part), the svanir (only in the dark forest), the ascalon assault, the jade maw… you can all be magic finder there and nobody is going to die.

that said i won’t allow you to inspect me. and not because i’m wearing magic find or have something to hide, but because i know what i’m doing with my gear and stats, and i presume you do the same, so i won’t bother asking you if you are doing well even if we are of same profession i’m not asking you to play like i do.
the only thing you should inform your party is if you are a first timer at certain content (good luck explaining to people who won’t listen or understand but will not tell you they didn’t).

i use all celestial rings, amulets, and earrings so i don’t have to change trinkets anytime i want to change weapon…

i still run dungeons, fractals, pve, and pvp, and not only nobody complained about me, but i do just great.
so if you like it, go for it, i’m very happy about this choice and as soon as i can get there i’ll have a set of armor full of runes of divinity. just to bother berserkers lovers ^^

i don’t care, what do i care is i don’t have to buy anymore picks or sickle and i’m happy about it.
don’t really care about the animation, it’s just less than 3 seconds anyway

i’ll write this although i know that nobody will read it, what do you mean by challenging?
because as OP posted it seems that challenging means doable with better gear and different builds, that means doable only with that gear and that builds, this is not challenging, this is people thinking inside the box.

whenever you ask for challenging stuff you should also explain what kind of challenge do you want!
i’m not against challenge, but i’m against unblockable projectiles, skill that one shot you etc etc. that is not challenging that is people complaining about easy stuff to do.

and you know, for a change, i’m tired of things being difficoult at all cost because you are bored.
and i’m not saying this because i want easy reward (since anyway i’m not getting any good reward as it is), and i’m not a casual player.

and btw i’m also tired of people bashing casual players like they are trash incapable of achieve anything.

i hope for the love of all the gods that arena net stops to pay attention to everything written in this forum, because at any patch i see that they change things based on the forum complainers…

so you lover of challenge where are you know that some dungeon are made harder even in story mode? that some temples are undoable, where are you know that in pn/shelt is full of champions?

oh and don’t forget, that there is not only end gamers, but also people who are actually playing the game and i don’t think it’s fair that lv 30 player trying ac story mode get to fight troll that can wipe level 80 because you were bored and got nothing better to do that write here

the funny thing is btw that union waypoint farm point is now fixed to no loot because of the complains of no farmers against farmers, but they didn’t even bother to fix the waypoint itself so when you use it you are stuck underground unable to move. you can blink if you are a mesmer, you use it (and so pay it) again if you are anybody else…

fix it already instead of thinking about loot and drop and farmers you lazy!!

About SS. i went there the other day with 410 magic find (not a full set because i still wants my armor to be effective, and i used celestial stats on trinket +food+bonfire+banners+guild boost).
you would think that 410% magic find can be enough for rares and exotic. still the champion rioter gave me blue and green all the time, when i returned to my still abnormal 365% magic find, i was getting blue and green again…

sometimes i got crates. reguardless my bonuses.

i think this 200% magic find boost is just fake. the loot in the island is scaled around it. there would be no reason to have a guaranteed karka shell from karka vets, if magic find would work properly.

i’m only saying this because i thought in the past that magic find could make a difference, but it appears not! my boyfriend looted leaf of kudzu from the champion istigator the very first day the new living story was launched, than he made his legendary and now he has an armor set with all runes of divinity and gave up his magic find because he doesn’t need it anymore…
you know what? he still loot crates, and rares same as before.

we play same content, but he is far richer than me from the very beginning (i’m mesmer he is guardian). we farm the same spots he get the goodies i get the pourus bones or the globb of gloopy glub…
the only luck in me is he is my boyfriend and he doesn’t need gold that bad now that he is happy with his legendary, so if i need something he give it to me (and he actually is responsible for me to getting the gift for my legendary completed). so i guess i just need to wait for him to mystic forge my precursor or just loot one…

so what do you think now about this 200% magic find boost? i really don’t know. to be fair there are days i’m so lucky i can’t believe it and he is not, but still…

the puzzle is the only thing i haven’t tryed so far, but in my opinion there is not a guild events that i really like to do, i do because people want merits, but i would avoids guild events completely, they are frustrating and not fun, i consider guild events sometimes even worse than wvwvw, and i already have a low opinion in wvwvw.
also i hate time limits when i do things, i’m tired of challenging means no real time to do it.

btw a bleeding rack would be ridiculous as a bleeding golem i think, but that still works on the last…

sorry, i run to the enemy or leap to it when i melee, this feature is in the game because they wanted you to take real action while fighting and meleeing and kyting, not just press button and wait for your toon to do the work.

you’ll get used to it eventually, i know in the beginning is really strange because in gw1 we barely need even to use a mouse, and here you have to do all the work (you can’t even autofollow your mates for that matters). but in no time it will not matter anymore and you’ll just fight like the rest of us and you’ll be able to guess with no red lights if your skillkitten or no

when you explore the world the first time you don’t have the waypoint that you think diminuish the experience…
when you do the second time you just don’t want to run from one end to another of the map to get to some point, i already hate the contested waypoint and you are asking to put less waypoints so you can run with a minipony?

in gw1 you can save thousands of builds and second class combination and changing it at outposts for free everytime you felt the need to do it.
you could also copy linked builds in chat and you could switch to that build as long as you had the skills required…

so there were build for farming, build for pveing, builds for istances, builds for pvping, build for show off and builds for whatever feel you had, for free whenever…

now we are so desperate to have it that not only we are willing to pay silver to do it (i’m against it) but also real money to have that feature?
seriously they have to earn money this way?

yeah exactly that was the idea i had in mind since everybody is asking also for personal houses why not to put them in the same area if player chose it to be there?

i don’t know, i had a long session of wvwvw with guild alliances and i got bored after a while of running up and down for no reason.
what’s the point of all wvwvw events? you conquer some tower and 2 seconds back it’s not yours anymore, you conquer it again while the ring of fire server swarms you no matter how many you are they are always more.
what’s the entire point? nothing is really permanent… you do this for points, but than you don’t need to defeat enemies, you just can form a train from spot to spot, conquer leave and get the rewards untill the timer is resetted and you get the points for your server hopefully more than others.
so i ask again what’s the point? when i’m there i feel like i am achieving nothing, no story to tell, no experience to treasure. we just run and eventually rage quit (yeah because somebody tought it was fair to make a medium populated server fight against a high populated server).

when i started to play on line i used to play ragnarock on line! they got it right according to my personal tastes about the world events.

only on wednesday all the guild in the server fought against each other to win castles, than they kept those castle for a week, there were dungeons and bonuses and something to do with it.

i’m not saying to do the same thing, but something similar, with the feeling of some big winning or failure for the server? maybe not an everyday thing but a weekly thing? i dunno, but as it state now it’s boring and pointless, but that’s just my opinion anyway, people seems to enjoy it, i only don’t understand what they are enjoying!!

i still prefer to hve a choice, sometimes you just need to land your aoe even if there is no enemy targeted, maybe you just want them not to enter the area (wvwvw) or mybe there is to much action and out of range casual targets to properly use it and it would be a waste.
also when i’m against a melee enemy in pve i want him to cross all the area of effect instead of the center so they can easily walk away and melee me. that said using some AoE only in melee (so enemy wouldn’t walk away) it’s not wise at all, some of them have casting time during while you can be destroyed.

i think it’s just lazyness, when i don’t want to use the ground target it’s only because i’m lazy in that case i may switch on the option

there was a naked armor in gw1 for monks male and female, the female wore bras back than…
do they forbid bras these days?
and btw if this is a problem female could get for a change some bulk clothes… would be nice for once if only male could get some sexy outfit

i like the idea, not the fact that playing there is a must because people would leave the world to take care of their town.
what if guild members can have their own house inside the guild homestead?
wouldn’t it be nice?

you have a strange vision of how mesmers are overpowered in this game, i may be the worst mesmer in the world since i suck at jumping puzzles, i take for ever to kill mobs, i loot less than my ranger etc.
only because we have time warp, that actually has been nerfed to work only on 5 people at a time, and btw timewarp still benefits other not only the mesmer who cast it ( so i don’t know why you are complaining about it), often i cast a timewarp and for some reason in pve don’t affect me, but i assume affect other 5 players… who cares, i’m not that selfish.

mesmer used to have a lot more confusion attacks in the beginning, now we have it only on shatter and on scepter, unless, we activate combo fields and specific traits and confusion was never overpower in pve and now thanks to all this pvp whiners we benefit from confusion even less…

my opinion is that people read somewhere that guardian, warrior and mesmer are overpowered and than go for that. my ranger is not less powered than my mesmer, or i can’t see much difference in pve, and i must say in some occasion specifically in pve i think the ranger is more useful due to his range.

i agree with you, i liked grenth event too, not for the loot (thakitten was nerfed since people failed the events in order to get lodestones and various shinies), but because i enjoyed it.
it was challenging enough imo, you couldn’t ress people if corrupted to fight shades, you couldn’t fight shades if you wanted to ress people and the shades were enough to kill you… now it’s simply too difficult and complainers don’t even do… so what’s the point?

i’m not sure about skills, but maybe some equippable passive bonus, or even better ( so we don’t create imbalance between people with passive bonuses and people without) just skins for the same skill we already have…

in fact if there was one, why am i not wearing it?

currently there are more greatswords skins than we can actually use^^
