the only things they have approved of so far as visual adds, no changes to adds, or visual adds that show data that cannot be determined from ingame data.
So… an overlay that marks stuff is fine.. something that reads and summarizes data from the chat is fine.. etc
but what you suggest would change onscreen materials, and thats not allowed.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for it, but I can see why anet doesn’t want it
well… I’m not one to have romantic relationships with ants, but have you ever seen a corpse or unconcious person crawl to a chest of loot?
that’d be some serious Halloween skritt
well, I’ve seen leaks but won’t comment on that.
All I can say is, if you need mounts to enjoy a game, maybe this isn’t the right game for you. I’m personally on the camp that says “mounts add nothing to the game since we have waypoints” but maybe future maps can be made with mounts in mind, just like the Heart of the Jungle was made with the gliders in mind.
I’m not saying mounts would be a terrible addition, just that with the core game in mind it’d be a waste of resources if they didn’t force necessity for them.
Whelp.. got linked to the same server, with a third dead server added, another week of 1 pip.. and no claim tickets…..
Justice, fairness, and balanced doctrine, other than that.. the gods have been kind of neglected in gw2.. no wonder one of them is biting our skritts now
Hm.. repaired the client?
Sounds like a pretty unusual crash
So, two-three days ago we were doing Slothasor,
And occassionally soneone would down. However, I could rarely rez anyone in time because the field was a disco. Mesmer wells, elementalist flares, the general poison on the ground, i couldnt find the downed people if the fate of the world depended on it
Caudecus manor: hes gonna commit suicide.. nope
Draconis Mons: Taimi gets blown away, shes a goner.. nope
Lazarus is Palawa Joko.. nope
But i dont have a perfect loss record since I called that caudecus would be the WM boss or a near-boss-rank

This item is really nice, kudos on its design, but im a little bit hackled that the tattoos are fixed white, it would be great if we could get a dye slot for this.
A similar problem I have with the destroyer wings. Theyre green, vinetouched. I have a fiery character i worked hard to make look like a destroyer, only to find out that the destroyer backpack is green. Red fire, and something green, doesnt mix well. Can we have a normal red version in the gemstore as well? Ill gladly pay another 700 gems.
if you’re not rank 3000 by now, there’s no way in seven realms of oblivion and the gazing abyss behind it that you can complete the wooden chest in one week.
No need for the hyperbole. I finished Silver on an account with rank 780 in 6-8 hours of WvW by getting either 3 pips per tick (2 for rank, 1 for third place) or 8 with outnumbered buff.
Except when youre on a skritt server that is just active enough to never have the outnumbered bonus, but inactive enough to always fail, so im cursed with 1 pip per tick, meaning i have to sacrifice my entire working week for getting the wooden chest, and thats just ridiculously disproportionate
How about instead of wintersday skrittquality, they make a proper Summer Solstice festival
Why I still bother? Dunno, guess I just enjoy pvp in general, and the league gives me a a bit of a goal, like the fairy wings
What if racial skills were the same between races, except for aesthetics? Like the HoM pet skins.
Give every race the same number of racial skills, that do the same thing, but with different names and animations. Thus, for example, the sylvari Summon Sylvan Hound, human Hounds of Balthazar, asuran Summon 7-Series Golem, charr Warband Support, and a new norn racial skill (since they have no elite summon racial skill) all summon an NPC that has the same exact stats and skills, but different names and appearance.
Thus there’d be no balance difference between races and at the same time the skills can be improved to matter/be effective in PvE/WvW.
good suggestion, and I can see it work for most cases..
but what about the Norn spirits. You can make golem suits, or maybe elemental bodies.. but.. I can’t think of enough to make it work for all races, maybe sylvari can have plantoid exoskeletons
we have zero details on the expac, anyone’s guess is as good as mine. But I think it’s somewhat likely.. not very likely, but regular likely. One argument for it being unlikely is the lack of a new class, meaning the 80 booster might not have the same value
my problem with the current system is that it punished new players.
We are being actively pushed out, because if you’re not rank 3000 by now, there’s no way in seven realms of oblivion and the gazing abyss behind it that you can complete the wooden chest in one week.
I think it would be more than fair that if at friday you havent completed the wooden chest, your pips don’t reset. Either that, or evenly distribute the rewards over the subchests. At least then there’s a prospect of progress.
To give a short anagram:
John has worked for Records for 5 years, he’s a veteran, and makes 4 euros per hour.
Jack has worked for Records for a few months now, he’s adapted to the world, but as a novice, he’s paid 2 euros per hour, sometimes only 1 euro per hour if his colleagues are slacking, meaning he’s punished for their negligence.
The boss of Records doesn’t want to pay out the wages if the wage is less than a 100 euros. either you get a checque for the full wage, or he wont pay you anything at all, even if you did the same amount of work.
So, John works for 20 hours, and has therefore earned the 100 euro check of his wage. The boss signs the checque, and he can collect his wage. Jack also works 20 hours, but he only made 30 to 50 euros on his clock, so the boss says “I don’t care how hard you work, if I have to pay you less than 100 euros, ’m not paying you at all”, so Jack goes home tired and sore, knowing he didn’t make a dime during the 20 hours, goes to sleep hungry, frustrated, and tired, while John down the corridor is throwing a party.
The next week, John goes back to work, and works another 25 hours to make sure he hits 50 euros. He walks up to his boss and asks for the pay now, but the boss says “nooo, you can’t make the wage in two sessions, you have to make the wage in one go. On friday I reset the clocks, so you gotta make the 100 euros in one week, but if you have trouble getting that in 20 hours, why not work for 50 hours, maybe 60, you don’t need sleep, you don’t need a social life, just lock yourself into the office and work until you’ve made a 100 euros”
I got 1, maybe a token system is a good idea.
25 kills for 1 weapon, plus the rare chance to find 1 along the way?
While I agree should matter on how lore interacts, and maybe slightly open up extras, there are some.. difficult.. tidbits,
In WoW for a long time, they had a clear racial bonus, and high end raiders would not have you if you didn’t run specific combos. So in the last 2 years Blizzard worked really hard to minimize the differences between the races.
Retro-actively, such diversity works very well for singe player games where you don’t have to compete for a position, in games like Elder Scrolls, for example, some races make better hunters, better mages, or better fighters.
The problem is, if there are differences, there is a best way of doing thing X, and if its online, people will exclude others from content if they don’t run perfect model X.
But I wholefully agree on the lore aspect, Anet could do a lot in making racial quips in the story, maybe even have a different branch or an extra mini-event in the stories. Like in LS3, the earlier chapters, Taimi talks down to the commander, even if you are an Asuran Savant, she’ll treat you like a skritt, and that’s just plain wrong.
Not sure if its related, but i once had a long loading screen to a pvp match, so it booted me from the game. After i reconnected, about halfway in the match, i got some.. unpleasant.. remarks thrown my way, they mentioned that if i DC’d i should just stay away instead of ruining their matchmaking
Because the Zephyrite airship was destroyed and doesn’t exist anymore. The remains are around Dry Top
I take it you have never seen a sequel to a movie that was never meant to have one? You can always connect to a story arc that looks like it is ended. For example, what if a survivor from the crash turned up?
there’s no need to what-if a story, we know there’s quite a bunch of survivors, they’re all in drytop, there’s at least 14 individual zephyrites alive, and propably more if you think about a few hidden ones
its not a bug sadly, what happens in that you have two skin sets, and the outfit skin set cannot be combined with the normal skin set..
and honestly, I don’t know why, you can already hide the helmet, shoulders and glove if you like, so..
But yea, it’s unfortunate, we have been complaining about it since they started making outfit and we’ve yet even to get an official stance. we have some vague dev responses saying they’re scared of us mixing and matching and then complaining about clipping issues or something.. as if we’d be so petty
> Banners randomly choose to spawn on cursor location, target location, or player location. I cannot find a setting where they spawn fixed, random is the best description I have for it. (especially critical during Vale Guardian, because I want the banner in the center of the field)
target location >> snap ground target to target on?
cursor location >> ground targeting instant on?
player location >> mouse over UI when banner pressed (happens even with snap option checked)?
Whole I appreciate the willingness of you, I’ve already messed with settings, and so far the only way i can reliably get a banner at the center of the stage is remove the focus on the VG, meaning i have to spam the esc key a few times, and them aim, and land. A few valuable seconds in a raid fight. If
Warrior are indirectly tanky, by a big healthpool and good mobility.
Necromancers have a second healthbar.I know eles are like skritts when it comes to being tanky, toughness builds with earthen cantrip and any class can still tick of half your health with a single autoattack.
That’s incorrect. Water/Earth/Tempest with a tanky stat set (e.g. celestial) can face tank champions all day long and solo just about anything.
Maybe in pve, but the sturdyness of the ele is practically nonexistant in pvp
It may be because I jungle between bronze and low silver, but I have no trouble using my necro. Works pretty well, although it really shines in a 2+ fight, it’s difficult to use properly when I’m alone
> Cannot use ground targeting assaults like Savage Leap because you will just make a hop in place.
> Quite often the warrior’s Rush (GS:5) causes the warrior to run backwards.
> Banners randomly choose to spawn on cursor location, target location, or player location. I cannot find a setting where they spawn fixed, random is the best description I have for it. (especially critical during Vale Guardian, because I want the banner in the center of the field)
> Underwater: Spear weapon lunge cannot be done in first person mode in risk of flinging yourself in the wildest and most random directions.
> Greatsword and Longbow in FPM: the handle of the greatsword sometimes hangs in the screen after using a skill, or the longbow’s string hangs across the screen while sheathed.
Some of these bugs have been going for well over years, any stance on their fixes, anet?
The Thoughtless and Selfless potions took a good amount of grind to obtain. If they were to come back again, I would expect it to be expensive or a pain to get.
they were, to get the blooms you had to log in almost every day for the period, you could only miss like 2 or 3 days, it was quite a gamble for many people
You are leaving out guardian. It’s a fun and engaging tanky. Warrior and necro are just afk tanky. You might also consider ranger. It’s extremely durable and gets ludicrously durable with the druid elite spec. Can be very fun to melee with.
You know half the warriors tankyness comes from its mobility, not its durability, if you afk it, you’re missing half its durability
Warrior are indirectly tanky, by a big healthpool and good mobility.
Necromancers have a second healthbar.
I know eles are like skritts when it comes to being tanky, toughness builds with earthen cantrip and any class can still tick of half your health with a single autoattack.
I don’t really get it, why dont they program that it stops dropping after your MF is capped. Or starts a new track for karma, I haven’t capped yet, but I would like a karma boosting track as well
The vendors are still there, they really should do another mordrem bloom event.
It’s a way of weeding out the players who don’t wanna work for it
(and lets be honest, the original acquisition method wasn’t hard either, I just couldn’t do it because I had to prioritize real life at the time and don’t regret that)
We should have Walborg (Walpurgis) or midsommer (summer solstice) festival, that would be awesome
I don’t know, pvp is supposed to be a competitive environment, so some gloating is good,
the difference is how toxic people behave during. Maybe they shouldn’t have the downed team on the ground, but just the pedestals, you know.
Or like all 10 players standing there mixed, while 5 of them do the /cheer emote, while the others do /crossarms, /facepalm, /cry
since you capitalized the E it sounds like you want them moved AGAIN somewhere else
is that what this’ about? the locations of the adventures?
(just kidding)
Sorry, but it’s real life.
Sometimes you work in a company and you have to produce results by friday and your colleague calls in sick thursday morning
I mean, yes, it sucks, but you gotta accept some real world in this. And “it’s bad enough people without HoT can PvP” has got to be the most toxic thing I read on the forum for a while. Really, the only impact HoT has on PvP is the elite specs, and there are still MANY viable builds without the elite spec.
Kudu -Z
the spine of Kudu with the Z-sheet removed
(medical puns)
I used to find that when I do emotes my weapons and backpack disappear, but when I zoom in (to FPM) and then back out, the weapon and backpack have re-appeared, weapon drawn if it was drawn when starting the emote, sheathed when not.
We got the Revenant to balance out the weight classes, and now we just get elite specs.
And I love this method, because in other games like, say, WoW, whenever a new class is introduced, you make a new character, relevel, regear, re-evolve it.
But now, we get 9 new classes as they overlap with out existing characters. And better yet, it means it’s not an entirely seperate class, but an upgrade on my existing one. Meaning I can mix and match the skills and traits I like.
The ONE thing I truly dislike is the weapon restriction. I agree the skills, traits, and specific class mechanism (like triple dodges) should be fixed to the trait line, but I love the greatsword on the necromancer, and the torch on the warrior, so I’d have if I have to choose between the Greatsword and the Torch on the Sandshroud and Reaper
On a side note, does anyone feel like the skull on the bow resembles Rodgort?
Because the Zephyrite airship was destroyed and doesn’t exist anymore. The remains are around Dry Top
That’s the zephyrites, they held the Bazaar of the Four Winds.
But the location was an already inhabited place, just like we were, the zephyrites were guests there. They hosted the event at the cliffside.
Even though the traveling ship is gone, the Zephyrites (I doubt) have forgotten their love for the sun, the storm, and the wind, so why not have a new bazaar in the Dry Top. This year they can have a festival where we help the survived Zephyrites make money and resources, and next year they have a new ship. Maybe then we can even have another election for who the new Elder will be.
Another thing that would REALLY help new players is if the pips in the
wooden chests didn’t reset every week.
I play several hours, but with 1 pip a tick I can’t get 100 pips in a week…
I was thinking, a good way would be a stronger connection to the leyline, while simoultaneously, pressing S (slow-glide) would push you out.
That helps both parties who have trouble staying in, or getting out
Ha, that’s nothing, I once got knocked inside one of the electric cages.
Curse the druid who managed to keep me alive in there
I don’t think they’ll uppen karma to 100% though, double the karma could have harmful effects for the market, maybe like.. 30%?
and gold find is already part of the monthly chest.
All the others I would gladly approve of
Half the time they drop you out, what game are you playing, I need to pray to Abaddon to get out, I can’t get out without disabling the glider, and I always get sucked in when I’m half a map away.
It’s especially bad in Ember Bay and Bloodstone Fen, you get sucked in all kinds of directions
(are you in WvW, because WvW has it’s own masteries unaffected by PvE masteries.
If you are in WvW, you need Supply Master rank 4 of 6 for autoloot)
I agree to some extend that the GW2 dialogue feels a little more child-friendly than the GW1 dialogue did, but not so much that I’m bothered with it. Sometimes I feel like they could be a little more serious, or sometimes a dark or cruel thing can happen and anet turns it into easter holiday again.
For example, Taimi gets blown away from the one floating rock when the machine explodes. We see her falling to the lava, so I thought he was done for. They had all the anticipation and everything. Cutscene spins around, she safely landed on the next rock over. Now I’m not saying that Taimi should die, but the scene was there and it feels like anet wanted it, but pulled out in the last second.
If OP gets his mechanic, can I have the mechanics to play the lover’s devil and run a divorce office?
Realistic: limiting content rewards to the content they’re functionally made for
Unrealistic: demanding content as a reward for content it’s not functionally made for
it’s a risk to take
if it sells quick, you can list it, but you always risk someone outbidding you with 1 copper and then you can wait a century, or remove the item and repost it, paying the posting tax again.
After 10 times doing that you’ll propably have paid more taxes than the yield of the instant-sell
they would need a system to decide which takes priority.
…or not. They could just let you combine any gear you want, even if they clip together. It could allow for new, creative and weird combinations.
I would approve of that, but I know anet will never approve of a system that promotes clipping. I mean, you and I would love it, but the forum will propably be lit on fire by people whose feelings are hurt when there are clippable options
