All of this post-Nightfall lines these guys have foretell Kormir’s eventual and inevitable descent into madness and evil, repeating Abaddon’s actions.

I find that very unlikely, for storytelling reasons. It simply would make a poor and predictable story. If we ever see Kormir again, she won’t be repeating Abaddon’s deeds. She’ll have her own agenda.

Also note that most of the lines come from low morale creatures, like mad ghosts and forgotten who have spend aeons in the realm. They might not state the truth of the matter, but rather, an objective opinion or belief of future events.
“Kormir will fall into madness, and repeat Abaddon’s actions” could very well just be a belief (or even a hope) rather than a fact

As I have said many times before, I am okay with mounts as long as they serve a purpose and make sense in their implementation.
Adding mounts to the current world would serve NO purpose and makes little to zero sense
Some examples where they might be good would be the wurms of the Desolation, or maybe a local mount in a dragon-minion infested zone where we couldn’t find stable footing to place waypoints. (e.g. the second part of the Rings of Fire, the Far Shiverpeaks, The Brand, etc)

I am fairly confident he will discuss them. He hasn’t discussed WvW or PvP yet, either, so I think there are more aspects coming. I’ll keep updating the main topic as he releases them. I just added part 9 The Revenant

i think he said it was gonna be a 10 part review so how will he tie the leggies with pvp wvw is beyond. Regardless i could be wrong

he could combine pvp and wvw has a video on competitive content, and the armor and weapons together as legendary content. boom, 11 videos. pure speculation, we’ll see when it comes out.

Yep, GW2 PvP is dead because there is no variation in game type, just capture, capture, capture. You look at any MMORPG and you’ll see PvP games that are more than just one type and even though there are people who do not enjoy them, there are at least no complaints about lack of game type variation.

I mean, we have more maps. We have colleseum which is already more fun than a normal capture, capture, capture (it still is, but the map is more fun), then we have the Courtyard, which is the only REAL pvp map, which they left out of ranked arenas. I hate stronghold personally, but it would add some variety if added.

Let see what else ANet said before:
1. HoT will contain a full set of legendary weapons – false

No, it’s simply not true yet.

I would like to ammend to it, as I rewatched the topic in their original anouncement. Apparantly they said “HoT will introduce new legendary weapons, and later raids with an all new reward: legendary armor”.
Notice the keyword “introduce”, meaning it won’t be part of the HoT content, but will be carried by it.
True, and as they said, it became a much bigger challenge than they originally thought it would be. Their original agenda would have had the armor and the full 2nd gen of weapons out by now. So they had to scrap some stuff and prioritize the armor. But they never said that the 2nd gen weapons and the armor would be released with the expansion, only that the expansion would introduce them.

And besides: the original content of HoT was so tiny with no dungeons and only 3 real maps to explore and then they dare to ask for money progress in the main story? What the hell? Guys really, I don’t get it, are you really so blind by fanboyism that you really defend this business model? I am completely speechless…

Also, don’t like it, don’t play it. Raids don’t affect the rest of the game in any negative way.

That’s your opinion. I happen to disagree with that.

Very good, then please share your supported opinion. We don’t battle with single sentences.

Any thing can be the best thing to the game, and it won’t require 100% of the population to like it. From an objective point of view, raiding is one of the best things that happened to GW2

Subjective (and highly subjective at that). Their very existence had an impact on the game that for many players is really negative.

Then I recommend you rebuke my argument with a less subjective one, not with a more subjective one.

Amaimon.7823

This is a bad argument, imo, and here is why.

Nothing in this game is obligatory (a good thing). You can do pretty much everything independently and still have fun.

But, at the same time, people have always had greater accessibility to every aspect of the game when making that choice. Raids in their current iteration cause problems because they essentially build a soft wall in front of content many more casual players would find interesting.

This is where the argument `If you make a foolproof system, only fools will use it´ comes in. You see, this game has both veterans and casual players alike. If all content always needs to be tuned to the lowest accessible point, then the people wanting a challenge of any kind will be turnt away. So who do you turn away? the casuals who already have the entire storyline, dungeons, fractals and world missions. Or the group of people who only have T4 fractals as challenging content? Whichever side you choose, the other will not play it. At least not for reasons other than the monetary rewards. Do you get my point? There is already so much casual content in the game, let us have something challenging on the side that won’t affect the rest of the game

The most visible example of this is the saul d’alessio storyline in wing 4. Technically, it is a side story, but that is really just semantics. No matter what you call it in order to justify what they’ve done, it is interesting story that ties into game lore and, for those that played GW1, is something many have wanted to experience for a long time. Placing that storyline in raids (in their current format) is basically telling everyone interested in story that they have to raid – and deal with all of the things many find frustrating about them (10 player issues, horrid balance, etc) – in order to experience these interesting stories. And that is a much different thing from telling people they needed to fractals or living story for that experience (specifically because of the accessibility issue).

Don’t get me wrong, you are right to some extent. It’s a shame that not everyone can experience the closure of Saul d’Alessio. However, the devs have made their position clear on the subject and for a very good reason (in my opinion) namely that raids can now be used to tell the darker, and sometimes downright morbid aspects of history that they cannot insert into the living story because the living story needs to remain friendly for all audiences. Saul was exposed to great torture, and they wanted us to get into that vibe. A vibe that simply cannot be experienced in a world as `family friendly´ as the Living Story. That said, I do agree with some semantics that it would be great for raids to have a `story´ mode without the legendary rewards so people can practice mechanics and casuals can experience the story.

That is offputting to many people. As far as I am concerned, that isnt the game many of us left other raid heavy MMOs to come to. Anet needs to right the ship and do it before the next raid wing comes out (and definitely before choosing to put any lore heavy content into raids again).

no comment, other than all my previous comments. Do you really play a game just for the fact that it doesn’t have raids? not because it has a cool living world story and all these big event chains?

I will also say, for the reason I mention above, that I think Wooden Potatoes has lost touch with those kind of players recently. I’m glad that he enjoys raids in GW2, but I also think he comes at the game from a perspective now different than that of the typical GW2 player (something he did very well when the game first came out – back when he developed his strongest following). This changed perspective will hurt his appeal long term. For example, I think he has completely forgotten about some of the things people would want to hear about in any review related to HOT, such as its impact (positive and negative) on guilds (does he even mention guild halls in any of these videos – I didnt see it), the new approach to events and world bosses or the on again/off again legendary weapon system they tried to implement.

There is a collision in GW2 you don’t see in many games. The desire to be representative of both the new playerbase, the GW1 playerbase, and the casual playerbase. Note how all three playerbases are VERY different and have very different likes and dislikes. The raids will most like cater to the GW1 players and to some extent the veteran GW2 playerbase, but not so much the casual playerbase. But then again, the casual playerbase has access to 95% of the game, so it really a war worth fighting?

Well, you’re sarcasm conveniently left out the criticism he had about raids in favor of your “raids are bad, mm-kay”. Also, don’t like it, don’t play it. Raids don’t affect the rest of the game in any negative way.
Any thing can be the best thing to the game, and it won’t require 100% of the population to like it. From an objective point of view, raiding is one of the best things that happened to GW2, because it opened so many windows of content. In retrospect, if you’re one of the people who don’t like it, raids are designed in such a way that they are a very rewarding experience without becoming obligatory in the slightest. You can excel in this game without ever stepping foot inside. Same with fractals.

Should be do you want longer queue times, or a team of similarly skilled players.

I say, I would rather wait longer for better matches than quick randomized games because, let’s say, if it really works well, then even more players may join in for the mode once they hear that the matchmaker is good and then we will have more good matches and less waiting (yeah! Gullible bubble!)

Call me when they decide to poll the removal of elite specs from ranked.

As for this… this is not too shabby of an idea. I hear ye, elite specs are one of the selling points but they do good in WvW/PvE and whatnot. But as for PvP it is one of the elements that participated in making PvP how it is now, which is a powercreep fest.
Maybe not removing but temporarily blocking elite specs for beta testing, could give us some insight on where to start balancing it out (be it nerfing elites or buffing cores). Maybe add an additional match option in unranked that turns off elite specs, I dunno (though it might not work that well due to already low PvP playerbase)

or.. or.. hear me out?
or.. you make a build to counter the elite specs, or make an elite spec your own.

They are elementals in the literal sense: a body made of whatever elemental material is available inhabited by a spirit, or other anomalous consiousness. Yes, they are different from the naturally forming elementals. But the titans bodies are made of rock, ice, lava, or any other random material just the same.

They are made from any nearby material. In this sense, we’ve seen titans made out of flesh – those are most certainly not elemental in any sense of the term. In theory, you could have titans made out of buildings, discarded weapons, and so forth.

While some titans may appear to be elementals (such as all the original ones we met), not all are. And by Tyrian definitions of what an elemental is (which is far more important than “the literal sense”), they are not elementals at all (as elementals is defined by a magically created construct of an element, either by spell or ambient magic).

I don’t understand your rebutal. You say they can’t be elementals because they’re made of random matters lying around while a real elemental is made of random matters lying around..

Your definition of elemental is right, a body made of 1 kind of matter fueled by a magical core. But that magical core can be ambient magic or a spell, like the “normal” elementals, but it could also be a twisted bundle of spirits.
Titans seem to have a preferable “form” since when they’re made of ember, tar, ice or flesh, they always take similar forms. But if an elemental was made by a spell, it could just as easily mimic that form. So I don’t think you can tell an elemental and titan apart until it tries to kill you (wherin a titan is propably a hundred times more deadly and intelligent)

Right now it’s all about capping and holding points, favouring techniques where you just keep your enemies at bay, or stand on a point like a statue. It’s fun, but having 25 maps on this basis just gets you after a while. So I suggest some alternatives:

The Pit
An open area with some trap-like mechanics, focus is on killing and surviving the traps.
1. Every kill is worth 10p+5 for involved allies
2. A player who kills consecutively without dying will both be worth more points to the enemy, but also makes more points.
3. A person who dies consecutively becomes worth less points.

The Quarry
Players start at the outside of an arena and must escort an Ettin or a giant Turtle to the center to collect Jade and escort it back to the drop point. You can earn 50p each succesfull escort, 5p for player kills, and you can slow the enemy’s carrier down by killing it (when it’s health hits zero, it stops walking and recovers for 15 seconds)

king of the hill
A single point in the centre where accumulative presence is rewarded.
Every 5 seconds points are awarded for every live person present on the field.
1pl = 1p
2pl = 3p
3pl = 6p
4pl = 10p
5pl = 15p
There will be buff fields that can be captured on the border of the arena. Getting these buffs will make it easier to keep the enemy of the centre, but in exchange, you’re not on the centre yourself while capturing a field.

Save the King
Fight your way to the enemy base, resurrect your king, and escort him back to your base. The king stops moving when:
1. there is no allies player nearby, or 3 or more enemies
2. It’s breakbar is broken
3. when it falls into a trap placed by an enemy
The battle ends when a king returns safely to his own home, or when 12 minutes are past, the radius distance between the king and his home-field is calculated.

@Brokensunday, maybe, maybe not. There’s speculation on the topic, but we don’t know either way.

@Amaimon… there’s good information in there, but much of that is unsubstantiated at best, and outright misinformation at worst.

No, the titans are a far more primal concept and threat to the world than even the dragons are.

There’s no evidence of that. The farthest back we have indication of titans existing is contemporaneous with the Seers, while the Elder Dragons are known have have gone back at least a cycle or two (given our current knowledge, ~20,000 years) further. In GW1 our party of eight slew dozens of titans, while in GW2 the combined forces of the continent have managed to kill two Elder Dragons.
I never said they were more dangerous though

some will call them titans of the very fabric of this world.

I’ve never seen an NPC call a titan that.
no, by “some” I meant the playerbase

who are past redemption or restoration [snip] become a spectre that cannot survive on it’s own [snip] and then goes on it’s agonizing rampage. Propably because they have “fallen” they feel the inate need to reduce the entire world to a fallen state, it’s unknown how much intelligence these creatures still possess.

Other parts of this section are good, but all of this is unsubstantiated. Additionally, we know that titans are intelligent- there are several points where they’re known to talk, this being perhaps the most direct.
thanks, I didn’t know there was a talking titan, then they have some knowledge

The titans souls are formed in the underworld and can under normal circumstances not get out. Some many aeons later Abaddon fell into Madness and corrupted the underworld which at the time was a stable and “fair” realm. The twisting of abaddon’s Madness turnt the realm into a Foundry of Failed Creations where the gods and the forgotten aimed to keep everything sealed, but they couldn’t control what was going on inside anymore. What was once a prison has now become a realm full of free demons and twisted spirits. (the wardens just left and locked the door).

A.) Abaddon’s Realm of Torment was not, and never had been, the Underworld. That was an apparently connected but distinct realm under Grenth.
I was going on memory, I thought the realm of torment was within the underworld, the foundry was within the realm of torment
B.) The Foundry of Failed Creations was one part of the Realm of Torment, not the whole thing. see A
C.) The Foundry as we saw it was created by the Fury, not Abaddon.
If the indian guy at a company made a cellphone, is the indian guy the creator or the company?
D.) The wardens did not leave. They were overwhelmed, driven out, or taken prisoner.
true, but they also just put the realm on a complete lockdown (even more so than it already was)

which they used for the cataclysm.

The Searing. The Cataclysm was a separate event in Orr.
yea, I mixed the searing up

we know it’s made by the titans.

No, we don’t. The titans gave it to the charr Shamans, but we don’t know if they made it, were given it themselves by Abaddon, or unearthed it somewhere else. The dev comments regarding the Cauldron can be interpreted to mean that it’s linked to the Elder Dragons, most likely Kralkatorrik, although that too is speculation.
my bad, I meant “we know it’s NOT made by the titans”, I’ll fix it in the main post

Then Abaddon gave Khilbron the scrolls which were then used to sink Orr.

Khilbron found the scrolls in Orr. It’s hinted that Abaddon’s agents were involved, but it’s also possible that Khilbron pursued them of his own initiative.
*It’s confirmed that the agent’s of abaddon did it, Razakel, The Liar

The Titans are twisted elementals

Not in the usual sense- they have no known relation to the earth/ice/etc. elementals in the games.

who once lived in the underworld, and later fell to the madness of Abaddon.

As far as we know, Abaddon’s titans don’t predate him, and weren’t corrupted, but were created explicitly to serve him.
They are elementals in the literal sense: a body made of whatever elemental material is available inhabited by a spirit, or other anomalous consiousness. Yes, they are different from the naturally forming elementals. But the titans bodies are made of rock, ice, lava, or any other random material just the same.

Which is an important thing you missed- the titans were created. With the possible exception of Gorseval, there’s no indication of a titan arising naturally.
it was my recollection that abaddon started making more, but that could’ve been my imagination

I always took the Elder Dragons to be vastly older/more primal than the Titans and certainly a considerably greater threat than them.

It kind of depends how far back you, and the angle.
The elder dragons are a primal threat to tyria, while the titans are a primal threat whose origin ties much closer to the chaos of the mists. I don’t know which one is older, but the titans are closer to the primal essence that’s more everything

To put it in perspective, you have a pantheon of gods who rule over earth. They are as old as the planet and dominate it without question. But thats tied to the age and origin of the solar system. That solar system is but a speck in what we call the universe. So the titans would be much closer to this second thing. They’re not necessarily more dangerous than the elder dragons to us, but there’s no knowing which party is older. It’s just that the titans have the possibility of being older. The titans we see in game are fairly young, as they are actively made by abaddon’s servants. but there could be much older, much more primal titans out there.

I wouldn’t necessarily mark the Exalted as tied to divine magic (though that is a strong probability). Still, however, magic is magic in the end and there’s nothing that says a mortal – let alone a mursaat – cannot safely absorb huge quantities of magic.

Especially when we have devices specifically designed to allow mortals to safely absorb and handle huge quantities of magic (again: Shadowstone). And we even have mention of a specific ritual, meaning that it wasn’t just a case of “I’m going to expose myself to a ton of magic and hope for the best”.

If magic is basically magic, then please explain why the dragon’s cannot corrupt the exalted? The magic that was used was expressly chosen because of it’s immunity.

or their bodies (and maybe the entire city) was made with the bloodstones in mind, since the EDs cant tap into that magic either. (wasn’t it glint who taught the elder races how to make bloodstones, I might be wrong there)

No, the titans are a far more primal concept and threat to the world than even the dragons are.
Some would call them demons, some will call them primordial elementals, some will call them titans of the very fabric of this world.

They are born from fusing tormented, agonized or otherwise twisted souls who are past redemption or restoration. These spirits merge and become a spectre that cannot survive on it’s own. This spectre creates a body from whatever material is around to survive in, and then goes on it’s agonizing rampage. Propably because they have “fallen” they feel the inate need to reduce the entire world to a fallen state, it’s unknown how much intelligence these creatures still possess.

(the wardens just left and locked the door).

the Jaw of Oblivion, or Hrangmer is where they first surfaced. They found the Charr and gave them the Cauldron which they used for the cataclysm. The titans surfaced once before but were driven back. At some point Glint revealed the Flameseeker Prophecy which foretold a few key points.

Because of these keypoints history was writing itself. The mursaat knew that because of the Titans, they would die. So they went through every effort to found an order, which later became the White Mantle, to fuel the bloodstone which they used as a battery to seal the Gate of Komalie. But at the time they didn’t know that it was because of their efforts they would fail and die. So trying to prevent history is what caused it to happen.

It’s not quite known exactly what the cauldron is, and we know it’s made by the titans. How old it is, how powerful it is, we know very little of this. But what we do know is that the Titans, under orders of Abaddon gave the cauldron to the Charr, because he knew the war would go all the way to Orr. Then Abaddon gave Khilbron the scrolls which were then used to sink Orr. The final product of this story was: The gate of Komalie would open, and abaddon could escape with the titans.

TLDR:
The Titans are twisted elementals made by corrupted souls who once lived in the underworld, and later fell to the madness of Abaddon. They indirectly caused the end of the Mursaat, and gave the cauldron to the Charr so they could fight a war all the way to Orr.

I meant that the Bloodstone’s explosion opens the gates to raids. [I should’ve read this sentence twice…].

“The cataclysmic explosion at Bloodstone Fen opened a mysterious portal” ~https://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/releases/february-07-2017/

And Lazarus caused an explosion in Bloodstone Fen, so if he would cause an explosion in Abbadon’s Mouth this would mean the Bloodstone would open another portals to raids, I think.

Yes, the two raids were opened, one prior to the bloodstone explosion, and the other because of the bloodstone explosion. But raid 1 didn’t involve a bloodstone in any way (Kind of lying here because we fight Matthias Gabrel), we were there before we even knew the white mantle was there. We just learned at the end after defeating Xera what was going on. We didn’t even know a mursaat was in that stasis chamber. So I say because we didn’t know about the mursaat or the bloodstone at the time of raid 1 it’s not relevant. We were there because of the bandits, the bandits were there because of the WM, and the WM was there because of the stasis chamber and the bloodstone was nearby. The second raid opened up because the bloodstone explosion caused some magical imbalance, but there is really no reason to think the third, fourth, fifth and penta-hexodehydrogenal raid will require a bloodstone in any direct or indirect way.
I mean sure, the third raid could be because of a bloodstone, but it doesn’t require it.
All we have as an official statement is: “We wanted raids to be this harder, challenging content where we can adress the more dark and more underlying themes of the game. Due to a lesser accessibility of this content, any information relevant to the main story will be available to the players in other sources during the living world or current event patches. Due to the increased difficulty the presence of darker and sometimes more outright morbid themes becomes a more natural aspect of this content. We also plan to use this medium for infinished storylines and plotholes that we left behind in guild wars 1, like we did now when we gave closure to what happened to Saul d’Alessio after the Mursaat were driven back from Kryta.

Wasnt it mentioned in one of the dev videos about it being 6 episodes?

that was just speculation because there are 3 teams.
Episode 1: Lazarus Team (Bloodstone Fen)
Episode 2: Primordus Team (Ember Bay)
Episode 3: Jormag Team (Bitterfrost Frontier)
Episode 4: Lazarus Team (Lake Doric)
Episode 5: Primordus or Jormag Team
Episode 6: Jormag or Primordus Team
Expansion anouncement OR Episode 7: All three teams working together for a grande finale

Hmm Lazarus did not state he wanna consume every Bloodstone, we can speculate about this, but I doubt he would become more powerful when everyone is watching him and how he’s acting.

I never said he was, but he knows he can, we might not go there because of lazarus, but the maw of abaddon does have a bloodstone so anything could happen.

He said he wanted consume Bloodstone to recover himself and as he said really wisely he saved many lives. Perhaps he saved the Commander and the rest of our team as well, because no harm came to us.

That’s one possibility. it could also be that he just consumed it out of gluttony, and used the moral backbone to put us in debt to him. (just saying)

If they are preparing something in Ring of Fire I doubt we would have to chase after Lazarus because of Bloodstone.

It doesn’t have to be about lazarus, but the elder dragons want magic, and the bloodstone is basically a vault for them. They can’t access it, and it might infuriate them. I’m just saying if we go there and don’t involve the bloodstone in any way at all, it’s a huge wasted oppertunity

Bloodstones are the gates for Raids, so are you expecting a raid in Ring of Fire now? I doubt it, because the new raid is near Isles of Janthir, I doubt ANet wanna jump from north to south etc. Too much work.

what? since when? since where? the bloodstones have NEVER been gates for raids, and they never will be. The first raid was about following bandits, which just happened to us finding about the white mantle and the mursaat stasis the chamber. The second raid was about a prison of the mursaat. Yes, the first raid was situated close to the bloodstone because guess what, using it is the white mantle’s MO. But the second raid had nothing to do with a bloodstone, and the third raid can be anywhere as each raid is a self contained story. anet could jump the next raid all the way to the Wizard’s Folly if they wanted to, it won’t matter, because it will be a separate story. I honestly don’t understand what you mean by “it will be too much work to have a raid more south after going north”, why does the direction matter, north, west, south, east, up, down, diagonally, they can go any way you want. The separate raids are not a bound storyline.

The Cantha Thread [Merged]

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Amaimon.7823

I know the thread may have originated from a youtube vid (by Wooden Potatoes) but I just need to say that Cantha retiring to the mists is sad to hear. I’d honestly LOVE to see where Cantha is now and how the dragons awakening affect the Canthans.

wouldn’t it be great if the Deep See ED turns up somewhere around Cantha,
and Zhu Hanuku turns out to be it’s champion. I mean, it would make sense for a dragon champion to be so powerful that two clans with magical weapons could only annually incapacitate the beast. The elder dragon awake, and the Jade Sea melting could prove for the beast to become a much greater threat. And now that they’ve made so many enemies with the rest of the world, I think Cantha could actually turn into a ruinous state for us to rescue. (maybe a civil war?)

Two problems with the Zhu Hanuku theory:

1. Only the Luxons slayed it, using the Spear of Archemorus.
okay, true that
2. Zhu Hanuku shows none of the traits other champions exhibit (commanding a specific creature type, for instance).
that can be explained by stasis. The luxons incapacitate him everytime he reawakens so he might just not have the time/strength to make minions

limited supply for increasing demand is never a good idea.
Right now the price seems somewhat stable, but thats only until the next sink comes into to play. Maybe we should have more freedom in our monthly gift choices?
how about all the rewards get cut in volume, and instead we also get daily currency which we can spend on more tomes, laurels, or mystic coins? half of the monthly rewards are an immideate discard for me, I don’t need tomes or scraps like that, but someone else might be able to use them well in large quantities

I disagree that character bound masteries would have been a better approach. All it would have done is spread out the grind somewhat. But eventually it would require more grind to get all of your characters their masteries than it currently requires.

Agreed.

I think the best aproach would’ve been a combination of the current exp grind, and an unlocking point that’s character bound. That way it would make some sense.
“don’t glide until you did the story chapter where get the glider”
“don’t eat mushrooms until you’ve actually learned to”
“don’t autoloot around you until you killed a demon who gave you a million long invisible arms”

If you mean gather the experience once, and then as soon as you get the points on another character they can immediately unlock that mastery, then yes. That would have been a substantially better approach than character bound masteries. But it would still introduce needless grind for mastery points unless they were handed out like candy.

There are 9 classes, so its not unreasonable to expect to be able to run through the content with your main and 8 toons to experience it on all 9 classes. Yet if we had to re-grind for mastery points for every toon, it would be a huge chore, and would drive a lot of players away.

no, I meant unlock with exp and points as usual now, but the mastery doesn’t work until you’ve also done a mission or passed a story step that involves that mastery. Some masteries as easy as unlocking it by purchasing at a specific merchant, or given as a reward after an event, and some are part as a reward of story steps. Say the nuhoch mastery doesn’t unlock until you as an individual character saved the nuhoch village (random example), you unlock merchants by doing an X number of events associated by the people, or you unlock gliding by visiting a master who crafts you your first glider.

he just said “no cities” so that could’ve still meant anything

No, what Konig said was:

I’d call the Forgotten and the Losaru tribe a civilization. No cities, mind you (well, no cities that weren’t decaying from a failed human colonization attempt).

He literally calls them a civilization. Literally.

Here’s the quote again, shortened:

I’d call the Forgotten and the Losaru tribe a civilization.

Direct mention of calling the Forgotten and Losaru tribes civilisations.

Here’s the second part of the quote:

No cities, mind you (well, no cities that weren’t decaying from a failed human colonization attempt).

That doesn’t counter the first sentence he made, which was that they were civilisations. They just had no cities, but they were still civilisations.

fine, here’s your cookie, happy now
(no, i’m not gonna sing you a song)
