I been wishing underwater combat would move forward instead of backwards for the longest.
It was one of my favorite features but instead of fleshing it out and making wet versions of all the skills (so many of my Thief’s are unusable) they just seemingly gave up on it.
The Deep Sea Dragon will probably turn the whole Unending Ocean into a tentacle ridden canyon and we’ll fight him inside a deep, dry abyss of Lovecraftian hentai. You read it here first!
Not everything related to the deep sea needs to be about hentai tentacles. (just most of it)
Jokes on you, we already know DSD makes tangest horrors of tentacly shadows.. although thats just a description so we dont really know what it is
Unless the big twist is that Lady Valette is tied up in an Order of Whispers safehouse somewhere and Kasmeer is impersonating her… :P
But yeah, it’s probably more likely that is actually Lady Valette. What her motivations are is another question.
Not impssible, but the attached picture will define its status:
The mesmer that open the portal to Caeducus in the cinematic of the 1 chapter could be Kasmeer.
Kasmer infiltrate in the white mantle but with the dark hair.
Could it be a way to guide the story to the White mantle that Caeducus controls.
Wasnt that already confirmed to be that daughter of the woman in the human political person story.. lady Wu iirc
Edit, lady Wi’s daughter.
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lady_Valette_Wi
If you replay a chapter, the story column will aim you at the first part, but the instance markers of all spots can be found. Theyre purple on the map. But without an aim, you kinda need to know where they are
I do fear and think that people might ask for others to have legendary armor pieces for both the convenience of statswaps, as well have at least 1 item to prove theyve invested in raids sufficiently. Saying you need at least 1-3 pieces of legendaries instead of xLI
Glint, Gleam… Glimmer.
Seems more appropriate.
Glammer? (As a hint to glamour)
Last we touched on Kasmeer’s own story (rather than Kasmeer acting as an adjunct to someone else), Anise was talking up Kasmeer’s chances of being reinstated as a noble if she proved useful… and then she was responsible for teleporting two members of Destiny’s Edge to safety. Both Logan and Zojja are officially ‘recovering’ which implies they got back to a recovery point, which suggests she also got back fine… and the PC mentioned that she’d likely be explaining Marjory’s shadowing Lazarus to Kasmeer, suggesting that the PC at least believes she’s fine.
My guess? The Shining Blade is using Kasmeer to identify who Caudecus’s supporters are, and which knew the full depth of Caudecus’ plans as opposed to just agreeing with Caudecus’ public policies.
It would be cool if kasmeer has infiltrated the white mantle. But honestly, i think anet just forgot to mention her. Its not really anets thing to make something happen with sufficient foreshadowing
She is dead, and Marjory wants the help of Lazarus to save her.
That troll is in poor taste. OP, kasmeer is fine, she just hasnt returned to view yet.
Please, tell me, why is that idea imposible?
Kasmeer has been forgotten in Hot, she has 3 phrases in all story… that is wierd, isn’t?
If she were dead we wouldnt have seen a calm and collected marjory in ch2. Everyone pretty much agreed she wants Belinda Jane back, kasmeer is propably back home in DR
How is this idea? An arena in the guild hall with holograms or named golems, who have all the same stats, effects and skills of raid bosses. And then you can choose a boss and ‘practice’ in thenguild hall? Preferably holograms somyou can get used to the skill animations.
white…..as in a white hamster, why would we have caucasian asura?
The albino is horrid. the colour is sort of there but it makes the entire character get this sickly grey glow to it. That’s not how a real albino skin should look.
Thats not how a human albino looks like. But asura skipped a few steps of evolution, which is why they still have that amphibian vibe despite being mammals.
Because we dont have 20, 30, and 40 boosters and 250 Tomes of Knowledge yet
She is dead, and Marjory wants the help of Lazarus to save her.
That troll is in poor taste. OP, kasmeer is fine, she just hasnt returned to view yet.
@justafleshwound they could continue making content for GW2 and also develop another game .Considering they are different genres its in their best interes to still create new content and get revenue from GW2 . using the same model as Blizzard or HiRez Studios
They could.. no they could not. Anet is already understaffed as is. Theyve proven time after time theyre capable of making epic stuff, but not multiple stuff simoultaneously
Isnt that the ascended weapons pattern?
200mb or a gb, thats still a lot for an empty patch :p
Dont know how related, but since for a year or two there have been event markers inside Divinity’svReach as well. One in the grenths plaza, one ar melandru’s and one in the garden-stellarium
Yes. I can confirm. For the ascended specializations you need to clear
Verdant brink,
Auric basin,
Tangled depths
or
Dragons’ stand
With said profession. Maps released after HoT are not consider Heart of the Maguuma
If you have trouble targetting certain objects, you can use the allied scroll.
Check your settings, i think the default setting is the two keys right above the enter
thanks, scrolled through it real quick.. so it really is a phantom patch? 400mb of nothing?
Any class you’re comfortable with is the best class to start with.
As long as the purpose is to form a group, you’re using the LFG for its intended purpose.
In this case, I think it’s a group for cleared maps, and they ask a small donation for the access since they’re doing you a favor.
by white do you mean, pale-white or caucasian?
Because there’s already a pale-grey thats pretty close to white-white, just not to humanpink-white.. but why would you want an asura humanskinned?
So today I’ve got a patch took all evening to download.. 20% in and already over 100mb.
This is a big patch, but I can’t find any patch notes..
Are they preparing the system for anything big?
Eehm.. good question.. they never really continued on her former noble status, after ls2, did they. I noticed her wiki page hasnt been updated since she had a hiccupfit at scarlet’s
(edited by Amaimon.7823)
I am hoping the new map is not gated behind the story again. Not only is it annoying to get there but it makes it feel not part of Tyria.
Yeah, it should be like in Heart of Thorns’ story, few hints to explore, but story covers our journey if it is like in Bloodstone Fen or Ember Bay.
Yes, i agree completely. Locking content of the game behind prior content? What other selfrespecting game designer does that.. oh wait.. THATS EVERY GAME. Every game tells/forces you to go through stuff jn chronological order. Weve had an extreme freedom already. Now that things are more normal, people are suddenly claiming its bad.. horrible even. Never played a game other than gw2?
Have you got an example? Ive in months never seen a post in the raid lfg fitting your description. If it happens its wrong, but since ive never seen one, im thinking youre stressing out over a single ant
4 years I took mystic coins for granted.. I regret that so much now..
But without a tail a Charr would wobble around like a drunk :/
Nah he would be fine
and without ugly clipping issues
Nah, he would be fine
Sure.. lets cut tails of animals and see how they fare
Its always great to see people going to lengths to make their voice heard, and make it heard the right way. I don’t have much time to respond to it all right now, but I can suggest you copy it to the raid/dungeon/fractal section, you might reach more folk there.
Their suggestion has more or less already been made.
I know, I didn’t praise their lack of search skills. Just the fact that was is a structured topic rather than a rant
If we ever fight the water dragon, we’ll either use a fishing pole to get it up here, or they need to redesign UW-C
I’m not sure how to respond to this other than.. well.. maybe you shouldn’t be teleporting around but use the same technique everyone else is using. If as a thief, you’re short a dodge, please know that you have an extra dodge which all other classes do not have. If other classes can get through, you with an extra dodge roll shouldn’t have a problem. if you do have a problem, maybe you need to practice priorities
(ps, i’m assuming you were refering to the Dragonhunter trap)
Black Iris Flowers.3418Does Aurene have a father? […] We all assume Aurene will be like her mother Glint, but if she indeed has a father he could greatly influence her powers and abilities.
Supposedly, the fact that Glint was corrupted by Kralkatorrik is a concept subsequent to the original Guild Wars; when observing Glint’s eggs in her lair it’s hard to make it fit into this scenario: were those eggs laid before she got corrupted or were those eggs laid once she got corrupted? Did Glint had her own lair, a hiding place situated inside a single grain of sand, priorly to being corrupted by Kralkatorrik?
We see that Aurene displays crystalline formations growing from her body: are those an inheritance from her mother’s corruption or are those a sign of something else?
I personally think dragons have genders, but when one gets corrupted and transformed physically by magic (Elder Dragons or anyone else) gender kind of loses its meaning, since they can’t sexually reproduce anymore.
Interesting note: early concepts envisioned Mordremoth as a female.
I think the eggs were laid after corruption, but also after cleansing of said corruption.
Glint was born a normal dragon, and subdued (branded) by kralkatorrik. I’m not 100% sure, but I don’t think crystal was her theme before the corruption. And since all the eggs were crystalline in theme, I’m making a bold statement and say:
Glint is non-crystalline
Glint becomes branded, and thus crystalline
Glint is purified
Glint goes of and starts communities with other races and lays her eggs (and writes the flameseeker prophecies)
But wow, that description in the link sounds so much more epic than what we got.. (the fight we got is epic as well, but it was kinda.. farfetched)
(edited by Amaimon.7823)
I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m just going to keep calling her Aurene. It’s her name after all.
WHAAAT? call someone by their own names? now thats a thing I haven’t heard in a looong time
Its always great to see people going to lengths to make their voice heard, and make it heard the right way. I don’t have much time to respond to it all right now, but I can suggest you copy it to the raid/dungeon/fractal section, you might reach more folk there.
From what I understood, Dragons are assigned a gender because of their behaviour being closer to the stereotypical male side of the gender spectrum (confrontational, assertive,
Again, not all species. Hyena females are the ones that are confrontational and assertive.
But obviously the dragons are modeled on human expectations of behavior and gender. So, that’s true as far as it goes.
Stereotypical, which means you don’t acount for outliers in the statistics. There are always exceptions to every rule you can think of.
In short, the idea is that if you lose sight of the material realm, the magical or spiritual realm becomes easier to sense.
I didn’t notice this before on my previous quote of yours, but your quote seems to be saying that they might not have sexual reproduction but might instead have “behavioral genders.” What would behavioral genders be for genderless(?) asexual(?) dragons? How would members of a group of genderless/asexual dragons behave in a masculine or feminine manner?
For example, most dragons behave masculine, so we refer to them as he and him even though we never have a concersation with them.
Primordus and Jormag we know dont reproduce at all. They mold bodies from elemental force and energies. I know destroyers like to copy local creatures.Ok. I got to ask.
How does a dragon behave masculine if they don’t have sexual reproduction per your above quote, " don’t think that if Gleam was male, it would prove sexual reproduction. For all we know dragons only have behavorial genders."
In the absence of sex, what is masculine or a behavioral gender?
hard to explain, its just kinda when you see an androgynous person, but they act all bulky, tough and alpha, you assume they’re male. you could be wrong, but its the hunch of gender/behavior coupling
It revolves around the meaning of the word crack. So I googled the definition for crack and came up with (in no particular order)
1) “a hard, crystalline form of [illegal drug name] broken into small pieces and smoked” O.o
presumably not this one, not even if the devs are trying to use Skinnerism to encourage additive gameplay.2) “a joke, typically a critical or unkind one.”
Maybe, if it involves voices coming out of the ice you’re running over making jokes or unkind remarks, no doubt about the armor transmutations you’ve chosen. (Fits into the bloodstone madness if you’re hearing critical voices coming from your surroundings).3) “a line on the surface of something along which it has split without breaking into separate parts.”
Naw. Boring4) “a sudden sharp or explosive noise.”
Boring also (downvotes)Hmmm. I’m voting for option 2 but keeping option 1 as a reserve.
Jormag, you have been called to this called under the premise that you have broken act 183.22, for selling drugs to underages tyrians, and have used force to run away from the police. How do you plea?

I don’t think it means anything more than the next chapter is going to be ice themed and ‘a crack in the ice’ sounds suitably dramatic.
Look at the names of previous living story chapters and what they’re about. There’s definitely a connection, but the name only ties into the content in a general sense, they’re not elaborate references to numerous parts of the storyline.
of course we all know that, but its fun to speculate and let our imaginations run wild.. mostly wild into a wall, but wild nonetheless
Theres also the matter that not all dragons even have an identifyable gender but are simply gendered based on their behavior.
This is something that’s been bothering me lately. I’m beginning to find Anet’s sexism on this issue to be offensive. Why is that all the nice dragons seem to be identified as female and the mean ones are identified as male?
Coincidence.. in many stories Jormag is referred to as female as well. As I said, the official genders are unknown and we can only go by which proverb the people use, or what type of behavior the dragons use.
Glint for example was female, this one of the few we know for certain because she endorsed the ‘she’ in GW1. Tequatl is mostly called Male, but there’s been some female hints as well. In fact, only Glint and now Aurene are truly depicted as female. All others are all considered male or unknown, so its more a matter of unfair gender distribution rather than all males being evil and all females being good since the sample skew is off way too much.
Dragons like Jormag, Primordus, and Mordremoth may even be considered sexless alltogether simply because they’re made of non-fauna body-parts. They’re made of elemental prowess, or plants. Zhaitan.. well.. tbh, I don’t know if organically speaking Zhaitan was ever alive. He could’ve been something like a mind living in a stitched body as well. Kralkatorrik has fleshy parts, this much we know, but his outer form is mostly rock and crystal. and then there’s DSD.. water, horror, shadows, tangent freakshow.. for all we know it could be an unsolid body like water or vapor.

not entirely Cyborg, but if you’re an Asura or an engineer; you might want to look into Magitech armor. It’s as the name suggest:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Magitech_armor
Its not very clear in the pictures on the wiki, but the lens of the goggle is actually (slightly) glowing, if you use a bright color. It’ll look like one of those OVER 9000! lenses

I guess no one knows the sex of Gleam, Glint’s other baby dragon? If Gleam is male then it’s almost certainly sexual reproduction as asexual reproduction normally (except in some certain circumstances) gives only female offspring. iirc the two eggs came from the same clutch.
At any rate, it’s almost certainly sexual reproduction. There are large numbers of male dragons around and asexual reproduction normally occurs when there is an absence of males, either because all males have died out, or because they only exist at certain times of the year.
I don’t think that if Gleam was male, it would prove sexual reproduction. For all we know dragons only have behavorial genders. we know Zhaitan didn’t sexually procreate at all, yet ‘he’ had quite a lot of sunless children.
But your theory would work if the dragons were normal creatures with XY and XX chromosomes. its after all how ants reproduce
Actually ants use haploid/diploid to determine sex. Females are diploid (have 2 sets of chromosomes: one from the mother and one from the father). Males are haploid (have only one set of chromosomes: one from the mother). This means that the female ants are from sexual reproduction and male ants are from asexual reproduction.
http://phys.org/news/2015-11-sex-ants.html
XY sex determination is mammals. Birds are Z and W where the male is ZZ and the female is WZ. Many reptiles that lay eggs and bury the eggs have temperature dependent regulation of sex. Higher temperatures during incubation causes the embryo to become one sex and lower temperatures causes the embryo to become the other sex.
Monotremes (platypus, echidna) have a different sex selection system unique to them
Monotremes have an unusually complex sex chromosome system which shares extensive homology to bird sex chromosomes and no homology to sex chromosomes in other mammals. This has entirely changed the way we think about the evolution of sex chromosomes in mammals as it suggests that birds and early mammals shared the sex chromosomes which evolved in the reptilian common ancestor. The sex chromosomes of marsupial and eutherian mammals have evolved much later, after the divergence of monotremes. With 10 sex chromosomes in platypus and 9 sex chromosomes in echidna, monotremes feature the most complex sex chromosomes system described in any mammal. This remarkably complex sex chromosome system raises fundamental questions about its evolution, meiotic organization and dosage compensation and about sex determination in monotremes.
Thank you for the explanation. You know your skritts
I kinda miswrote my sentence, i didnt mean that ants use XY/XX, but rather, that dragons may or may not have a far complex (or more simple) gender-chromosomes.
A crack in the ice.. the ice.. of the fang of the serpent!!

Shield was made for all us quaggan haters!
Everytime you block an attack a quaggan dies and a new one is automatically teleported in. Fight some big fights, block a lot with the shields, and we can rid the world of quaggans
Dragons have such a wide variety of procreation its practically impossible to guess what one dragon does. Its entirely possible all eggs of glint were fathered by kralkatorrik, or they could be unfathered entirely. We dont know.
Theres also the matter that not all dragons even have an identifyable gender but are simply gendered based on their behavior.
Reason Dulfy’s guide is dysnumbered is simply because she numbered them randomly at the time. It was years later that anet suddenly decided to add numbers to them, but completey without any order or purpose. Propably a dev who was bored and thought what little pointless things he could do
the leggie shield looks ok i guess i wonder how you get the quaggan to stay in there xD the fractal is dope it might be from an old idea but im just glad we get more content
Thats the best part, everytime you block an attack, a quaggan dies. The legendary shield automatically summons a new one to die for you in the next attack. If we all craft the shield and start fighting actively with them, we can erradicate all the quaggans!
