I also play ESO, which is very phased – and there are positives and negatives of that too. On the plus side, you will only very rarely see even ambient content that doesn’t reflect your current progress in the world, and it’s pretty cool that the game world actually appears to “respond” to your choices.
It doesn’t have to be very phased. Just graphical tidbits that can be clientside. I mean, Nodes and story-NPCs are already clientside effects, wouldn’t be too hard to make the tooth and the egg a clientside graphic, right?
If this game phased it’s content as in new players would see a pristine tooth and older players would see a crack then I’d agree but phased content isn’t their thing so I’m against it all.
You only see a cracked tooth if your character has completed the story.
I completed the story, and the record in my journal is set to finished. No crack in the tooth..
Can we have Fractals of the Mists lobby like the one in PvP where Fractals runners can hang out…….
You want ANet to create a massively multiplayer instance for… runners? What’s wrong with using LFG to find clients and using LA to hang out?
I think they mean that the lobby of the fractals becomes a complete instance, that houses 150 people, rather than just the 5 in party.
I don’t know how difficult it would be to change the mechanics to to do that. If its doable, I’m all in favor of it. But I don’t need it very badly. Its just handy. A lobby where everyone is focussed on the fractals. Then you can talk about fractals in the map chat because you know everyone else there has their mind set to fractals as well. You can also ask around for tips and people’s help easier than in Lions Arch since everyone in Lions Arch is doing their own thing
By definition, something that is an added extra, which is not fundamental to the operation, or an essential function, of something is NOT a basic feature.
This is part of the point of my, and some others’, arguments: autoloot is an “earned” feature in GW2 while it has been a basic feature in MMOs that are 10 years old…
And in addition to the fact that it should be a basic feature in your Game Options panel, it has nothing even remotely to do with character progression and so should not be earned in-game.
Please name me an mmo with true autoloot like gw2? Because best ive ever seen is autoloot after interacting/touching the corpse
As BrettM suggested, maybe some graphics should be clientside. Like the egg disapearing, the crack appearing. Just like nodes change appearance on the clientside.
Adrenergic(Aurene, autocorrect) is still an egg. the fang is still pristine. Lots of other minor details. At least the egg and fang are major things. Shouldn’t those be updated in the real world as well.
Speaking of which, there are still plenty of NPCs talking about PS events and ls2 events as if they’re still (going to) happen
(edited by Amaimon.7823)
You can check the description of it says it only had value for the collections then you can get rid of it at your earliest convenience
All extra hero points now well make the next expansion easier
If you are looking for the Bristleback Pet you need to be in the Bristleback Glave in the Auric Basin.
As for the crystals:
Sun: high speed dash (lets you bypass sandfall and quicksand)
Lightning: lets you close a gap by making a leap through the air
Wind: A very high jump with no falling damage (as long as the fall is not longer than 3 times the initial jump)
Protip: when you dash using the Sun, you press Wind while dashing you make a jump with the forward momentum of the sun dash. takes some practice but lets you close big gaps fast.
Serious question. Have you ever played another game? Like, at all? Skyrim, warcraft, guild wars 1? No game ive ever played allowed you to kill creatures and pick up loot without doing literally anything.
I’ve played hundreds of games. Castlevania is one series where you don’t have to click to get items, just run over them. Many arcade racing, first person shooter and sports games are same way. Good games with click looting imply making a choice. Do I want to swap this bazooka to this machine gun?
GW2 you are point blank vacuum that hoards everything anyway and F click is not a meaningful choice. Then after looting you become inventory manager. I’m holding the best weapon in game with easily changeable skin too, where do I need these blue and green weapons? Salvage it. But wait, need to buy salvage kit first.
Shame GW devs are not gamers.
Exactly. In castlevania you have to run over the corpse to pick up the item. The convenience skill of gw2 doesnt require that of you. You can kill something and the loot comes to you. So its more convenience than the castlevania looting system. Inventory managing is a whole different topic im not gonna touch here
I tried my best to match the Dragon Hunter’s image, but the shoulders and the modify armour is really hard to beat.
The dyes shape are also hard…I tried to match the shoulders with the starter guardian shoulders but none of them matched it more or less..
What do you guys think about this?
You can tell the artstyle’s exclusive by the glove. The dragon gauntlet’s identical, but the drawing hand has only a plate glive while the art has an armguard as well
I would be more interested in getting a unique class like the ritualist from guild wars with weapon enchantments and spirits but we would need cantha for that and I guess anet abandoned it from the lore
You could get a type of brawler by adding monk to the game though, which could use fist weapons. But that adds the problem of having to add a new weapon type.
From the lore I’ve read, I thought I remember seeing it on the wiki, ritualists were burned at the stake after the new emperor unified Cantha. So ritualists went the route of dwarves in terms of scarcity.
Well they could bring back the Ritualist (I hope) after all the Mursaat were all gone as well, then along came Lazarus.
Problem is, the engineer is kind of the ritualist. It just has a different skin. If you add ritualist now, its basically carrying kits and placing turrets, too.
You know, you can return to character screen and reenter. Its how we cheesed the tier 3 challenges because this way only one guy gets the debuff
I dont think conceptual art necessarily needs to be ingame. The guardian starting shoulder kinda looks like it.
1) its your own assumption its a basic feature.
2) plenty of games have mechanics you need to earn. Shouts in skyrim. Shots in rayman. TM’s in pokemon, nothings ever handed out.
3) it adds to fun to have a meaningful reward behind a challenge. Why would you have challenges and not have meaningful rewards?1. Well, it doesn’t affect plot or provide any meaningful reward, then it’s basic feature. Developers made the game cumbersome and now they’re asking money to make it not so. That’s all there is to it.
if you dont find autoloot a meaningful reward, then what was this whole topic for
2. Those are plot elements so that you can’t just walk straight to final boss and finish the game.
No? You can completely neglect them as you want. Theyre convenience skills
3. Challenge is something like “beat the final boss” or “finish a level without dying”, but farming anything is not a challenge. Rewards are shiny badges, new moves, pieces of equipment and recognition. Whether or not you have to spam F every time something dies is a matter of design. There’s nothing fun about spamming F.
spamming f is what you call it. Its just a normal loot button ALL games have. Why you find it such a chore is completely beyond me, you dont have to spam it. Just kill a creature and click f. Youre gonna break your keyboard if youre contously ramming the F key. You can also wait to see if the corpse sparkles or not before you gently press the F keyDo you want a button that unlocks all legendaries, gives you 150AR, fully unlocked wvw skills and a ‘press to win’button for pvp?
I don’t.
Serious question. Have you ever played another game? Like, at all? Skyrim, warcraft, guild wars 1? No game ive ever played allowed you to kill creatures and pick up loot without doing literally anything. Everygame i know so far has at the very least required you to click on the corpse or walk over the corpse. Being able to pilfer corpses from 10 feet away without any interaction whatsoever is something pretty new, at least not as i have ever seen it before.

You dont need to pass through drytop to get to the silverwastes or hot. In fact, i always thought it was a dead end, anyway. You can get into the silverwastes through the bandit fort, and into the maguuman heart through the yellow camp in the silverwastes.
Is there a specific spot in the drytop you need to be, for like LS2, i am willing to go there so you can use a teleport to friend. Sadly, using wind, sun and lightning is an essential part of the story. Theres a chapter where you climb the wreckage and you simply cannot get around it if you want to progress the LS2 chapter there.
Ps, if you run out of time of the sun,wind,lightning-charges. You can pick up several crystals, the time of charge goes up
(edited by Amaimon.7823)
don’t be lazy kitten . earn it. work for it. others did, so could you.
Remember when games used to be fun and not work where you had to “earn” basic features?
1) its your own assumption its a basic feature.
2) plenty of games have mechanics you need to earn. Shouts in skyrim. Shots in rayman. TM’s in pokemon, nothings ever handed out.
3) it adds to fun to have a meaningful reward behind a challenge. Why would you have challenges and not have meaningful rewards?

The problem with a “open all” containers idea is people getting more items than their inventory can hold. This backlog of items might cause issues with the servers. If there were large numbers of characters all doing it at the same time, who knows what problems that could cause.
There are also containers that prompt a choice. What would happen with them in this feature?
The salvage all already fixed this. The last salvage that causes spillage stops the autosalvage and asks you what to do. Same thing can happen with the bags. Open one by one until you get the spillwarning
All of the “lesser races” are annoying in their individual ways. But they try to help the best they can with the fight against the dragons.
I can tolerate Skritt, i love the tengu, the kodan are cool, the hylek.. well.. theyre hylek, im fine with them.
The quaggans are like..
Dev: “who threw this perfectly good design in the trashcan.. it got a little mold on it, but im sure we can still use it”
We don’t have any indication of what’s happened with the Mordrem since Mordremoth’s death apart from Rox’s comment about some of them being ‘unhinged’. That could be anything from every Mordrem Guard turning back and seeking some form of redemption by going on an extermination spree of the non-sylvari Mordrem turning the area into a warzone, to every Mordrem going on a vengeance-fuelled rampage looking to avenge Mordremoth, to anything in between. That’s a loose thread that ArenaNet seems to be looking to leave hanging.
With regards to the Risen in the mursaat path, we never were given an explanation of how the Inquest magitech there worked. My gut feeling is that it essentially made them think that the Inquest were champions of Zhaitan – not bypassing the corruption so much as hijacking it.
Anet completely abandoned Orr, so learning anything about the mordrem guards is something we shouldnt have hopes for
What i want for meta events is more active scaling. Where bosses dont become trivially easy with big zergs or impossibly hard with 5 people
Mostly story, but there are some collections that rely on replays like the three order backpacks require you to complete HoT three times. Orherwise some classes can make some achievements easier
PS, LS2, HoT, LS3, fractals(swamp remake, chaos, nightmare), collections(profession, legendary, adventures(rare relics from events/bosses), pvp, wvw, raids, etc, etc
Play the new fractal, nightmare tower
he thought the asura you worked for was inquest, thought you were the bad guys
helmet: Carapace (with selfless potion)
top: Armor of the Lich (Arah armor)
legs: Profane (gemstore)
boots: Illustrious (ascended)
gloves: Carapace (maybe)
shoulders: Masqueradeno idea what dyes were used though
Mostly purple. But theyre all too light fow shadow dyed. I think theres plenty of dyes that are similar
You jumped!
Wheee!
Your grawl impression is really coming along!
Sacrifice your children to Abaddon!
Congratulations, you killed something!
Death is the greatest grace, grant it to everyone you know!
You are leaking!
Faster, Faster!
Hail Mordremoth!
Do you want a device saying these things anywhere public? Lets destroy the JobOTron today!
Helmet: gratitude (or something) was an exclusive item from LS1
Back: gem store butterfly wings
weapon: Runrise (legendary)
armor I can’t tell on the fly, looks half ascended
Imo Quaggan are the Jar-Jar Binks of the GW universe.
Cmon. Quaggans don’t destroy the whole game just by being there.
In fact, they are much more interesting than most other races in Tyria. I’ll put them in the same level as humans: Annoying, funny, a little unnecessary, but overall good to have. They do. The moment I heard those dopey voices and saw those beach balls in LS was the moment I noped out. I haven’t even bothered with the map since. It breaks the game for me (and others that I know).
Sometimes, I start quaggan escort events and hang back to let them die to the Krait. It’s my only consolation.
Agreed. Its impossible to take any story serious if it involves quaggans. Feels almost like a fun side event that has no bearing on any serious story. Just like adventure box, its a gimmick extra, not to interfere with the real story. But they sometimes for e quaggans in when they have no purpose being there. I just cant get myself to think of vhapters involving quaggan as ‘real’ or ‘canon’
Who’s to say where we will go. Heck, what if an expansion makes 5 maps in the N-shivs, and you think you head to the dragon. But then he takes wing and turns Hoelbrak into a raid instance.
Its tough to define skill and exploitation. I for one believe that if you use the mechanics youre given to get a result, its skill, even if it wasnt the mechanic the dev wanted you to use.
But in retrospect, something like a wall glitch, i dont think is skill. Because youre not taking a new approach to a fight or event, but rather you dont physically partake but channel your influence in.
Poor quaggan
they gonna be sad to read this
If possible id print this and read it out loud to each and every quaggan.
Lets make the seas salty again!
^—— Do you mean a tool that would just put everyone’s DPS in a pile and show how much the entire raid team is doing?
Otherwise I don’t see how that would limit exclusion in raids any more then the countless other DPS request/tools people are asking for
Yes, teamwide dps. Because you cant look at dps alone. Warriors dont do peak damage, but their PS role is almost indispensable. Without them team dps will drop.
So team dps is more important than individual dps. By a teamwide dps you can also tell whether you have space to slack or need to pick up the pase. Lets say a team kills the VG on the last second. Then the team knows on their next encounter they need to stay above that.
Why is this topic still going! Op already got his answer several times on page 1 (ignoring the fact he didnt like the answer). This thread has derailed into a sabbath of opinions and semantics.
13th most likely. I think 20th is too late, as christmas is right on top of it
with jormag and primordus getting a buff there is NO reason not to remake the Megadestroyer and the Claw of Jormag into proper challenges like tequatl and shatterer.
We see this in the case of Zhaitan’s minions in the Arah explorable. His champions don’t believe he’s dead and are continuing to do whatever they think he’d want them to do, and those that don’t have their own initiative follow the orders of the champions.
For Mordremoth’s minions, it might be a bit more interesting – unlike most minions, Mordrem Guard have the potential to regain their own will when Mordremoth is no longer booming in their minds. We may see Mordrem Guard reverting to regular sylvari… or trying to.
Regarding the Sylvari, there’s an interesting example:
Wounded: Mordrem Guard Punished from the Buried Insight instance.
This one in particular was free of mordremoth’s booming voice for some time and had recovered some of his senses. When canach aproaches, he gives in mordremoth’s call again. I found this one interesting because he was a complete ‘corruption’ but returned to sense (speaking from a sylvan point of view) for a few moments, which means that the ‘corruption’ of mordremoth is not as permanent or dominant as is with other elder dragons.
I do hope we get to see a mordrem guard returning to his senses now. Be it in regret for his actions, or happy that he’s free, either way would be interesting to see. I can also think of a few who have completely lost themselves and without mordremoth have no ‘self’ to return to anymore. Their minds are propably completely blank now, and will either wander around until they starve to death to cotninue on autopilot
My guess is, they become stuck in their animation. They have been given a command, and are propably used to not hearing their father until a new command comes in. I dunno how actively an ED talks to their minions. But if an ED dies, they might or might not know depending on their intelligence and just continue doing what they were doing. If they do knowntheyr father’s dead, they propably enter a voided state where they loiter around for selfpreservation only
Simple, a raid only, teamwide dps tool.
No exclusion. No effct outside raids. Just a teamwide dps counter.
Preferably split in condition and rough damage. That way you can tell if a team is short on condition or power damage
Its a little pointless gimmick that lets a dev waste their time whennthey dont wanna work on Gw2
And how many other masteries would people go to say that they should have outright thus stripping any purpose or need in mastering masteries.
All of them please. I’m sick of leveling. I want to play the game.
You know, you dont have to play this game
I said I want to play the game, not that I have to. Is everything ok?
You want to play the game, just not its contents, then?
There are 49 mastery points in core tyria.
There 67 mastery points available, so you can abandon 18 points.
If you want a big chunk of points, do the three wurms, tequatl, shatterer and karka achievements. Extremely easy on a populated map. Look for GW2community summons for the wurms. They still do TT every day.
LS2, a lot of easy achievements in fractals, complete act I, II, III on every race..
Long story short, plenty of easy options: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Mastery_point_unlocks
For the full list.
Somewhere on the left you can enter the priori hall its an open area, not a story instance. Once inside you can find the casual gixx and ogden in an office opposite of the library. Make sure you dont enter the PS instance because that shuffles doors and NPCs
The thing is, as far as we can tell, Mordremoth never corrupted Sylvari that we see, he merely spoke into their minds and tried to influence their actions. We believe this because Dragon minions cannot escape the will of their master, but we see one Mordrem Guard that reverts after being far enough away that he cannot hear the call anymore. I personally believe that Sylvari incorruptability comes from some other currently unknown source, likely whatever freed a the Pale Tree from Mordremoth’s grasp.
Sylvari are not Corrupted and cannot be corrupted, they are Dragon Minions as stated in game and by Devs, they were created as Dragon Minions so there is nothing to corrupt. As stated in This Link
Corruption is a weird term, even for dragon minions. In most cases, corruptions refer to the change of a non-dragon minion to one. In case of the sylvari, they can’t be corrupted because they’re already dragon minions. However, to entirely dismiss corruption isn’t right either. Sylvari are born from a blighting tree so disconnected from mordremoth it cant be called a blighting tree anymore. Mordremoth has to ‘reclaim’ the sylvari born from this tree again, which he does by whispering to to them, and plants memories that sylvari have trouble seperating from their own. The tablet of ventari contains rules which gives sylvari a lifestyle that helps the, recognize when memories are their own or mordremoths. Mordremoths memories are a violent contradiction to the tablet. Those with the nightmare have a harder time resisting the call, but have an alterternative that makes them hate the ilk of mordremoth and pale tree alike. So I guess the soundless are the most vulnerable to the call.
We learned from an achievement mordrem guard that theres a consensus between corruption and free will. Rather than being a puppet controlled against your will, your will gets changed so you dont even fight it. You need strong discipline like canach to resist the call from the start. Every time you give in a little, it becomes harder to continue to resist, and after a while youve relaxed too much and the call consumes you.
In short, there’s no corruption like other elder dragons, but theres a form of mental corruption, which may actually be a form of restoration. If you think about it, the sylvari is the anomaly, and the mordrem guard is a cure.
More luck for people who haven’t maxed it yet.
I highly doubt a majority of the community is at MF level 300. Plus, if they were, there would be no need for this, right?
Indeed, very few, if some at all, are at 300. but I suppose there’s some.. there’s always some.
But those people can simply not forge the kit.But what if they dont want the runes either its not a good solution for them.
Everyone has problems. Nomone solution can fix everything. Those who dont need the luck, but dont need the runes wont be better or worse off, regardless of the kits. Their position simply wont change. Part of the community improves, part of the community remains the same. Thats an improvement, no?
More luck for people who haven’t maxed it yet.

Didn’t that get thrown out the window when living Elder Dragons started absorbing other forms of dragon corruption?
No, what Primordus and Jormag absorbed was the core of the domain and all it’s magic. It gives control over that element, and lets you imbue your own minions with it. Control over said element: Death, and Plant. (weird that was plant and not mind control).
In any case: The elder dragon’s that absorb a domain, don’t get control over the minions of that elder dragon. maybe if Mordrem or Risen walk into Frostbrood or Destroyer territory the others can easily suck out the magic in them, but I don’t know about that. Elder dragons still don’t have any say over other elder dragons’ minions. Don’t forget: Primordus isn’t making Risen or Mordrem minions. He’s making Destroyers which have a dread attunement, or a vine attunement. They’re still destroyers
Come to think about it shouldn’t New Sylvari be death touched since you would assume that the Mother Tree being the only living Champion of Mordremoth would start absorbing not just Mordremoth magic but also Zaitan magic; she’s unconscious so it’s not like she would be able to regulate it?
Primordus sucked up most of Zhaitan’s and Mordremoth’s magic, leaving a little for Jormag to sink his one-tooth-missing-fangs in. The pale tree was very disconnected from mordremoth to the point that mordremoth couldn’t influence her at all. Not directly at least. I doubt any, if enough, magic got past Primordus and returned to her. I think at best she could’ve gotten some of Mordremoth’s magic back, but that would only make the sylvari.. more.. plantoid..
but theoretically speaking, yes, IF any death magic got past to the Pale Tree it should be possible for a new generation of death touched sylvari to spawn.
They bring back Prince Rurik…. Again
No rest for the wicked
By lore the three most prominent professions among asura are:
- Engineer – the obvious one, as asura are inventors. Coming up with sometimes nifty and useful, sometimes overly convoluted and sometimes straight malfunctioning machines and gadgets to get the upper hand over their opponent.
- Necromancer – Due to the deep research of Zinn on transferring souls to objects and bringing life to lifeless matter in the form of golems asura have quite a wide understanding of how life and death tie into the eternal alchemy, so much that some are willing to walk the brink between the worlds to get the insight they desire.
- Elementalist – The base foundation of the eternal alchemy are the four elements. Everything is made up from them and research on these wild energies is very dangerous. Years of training and many more years of supervision of a master are required to harmlessly utlitze the core powers of the world. But the payoff is huge.
Cheers
Won’t mesmer be a good additive to this list, since it taps into the arcane just as much as the elementalist?
