She doesn’t wear an outfit. It’s an illusion, she’s actually naked.
Exactly! In fact you, me , all of us are naked under our outfits!
The difference is that we are covered in some sort of material. She isn’t. She is as naked as a newborn baby. She just doesn’t look like she is.
What happens if she faints, though, can she maintain the illusion unconciously?
It actually is. I held my breath until I started hallucinating because I thought I’d see a prettier outfit if I did.
Sorry, the idea was really cool but the product looks like Jormag sneezed on the player when they were wearing the Karka mask
This completely debunks the assumption that there will be no new race added to the future of GW2.
No, it doesn’t. It only addresses one issue (and not thoroughly either). If you look at any of the threads where new races are discussed, you’d see:
- the developers don’t think it’s likely
- the question of armor is only resolved if the new race uses identical models to other races, to that there isn’t any need to do additional design/customization/QA
- identical models would be boring for a lot of players, who like races being visually distinct
- regardless, new armor doesn’t resolve the issue of the personal story
- even ignoring all of the above, ANet still would need to hire another 10 voice actors for everything in the game (2 genders for English, French, German, Spanish, & Mandarin)
tl;dr no, a new race is anything but likely.
About the voice actors. If new race would be largos (well I’d really like that) they wouldn’t need new voice actors. Since largos wear those breathing devices that transform their voice. So you could just use existing human/norn VA and then use some software to make it sound ‘robotic’.
Right, because anyone who plays a Largos is gonna wear that mask 24/7
Did anyone else notice that the [spoiler] function on the forum is really bunky?
I mean, sometimes it’s a black bar that shows the text by hovering over, and sometimes it’s a spoiler box that needs to be clicked on. I find this very peculiar because I haven’t yet figured out what’s different in the two forms. they all look identically the same, spacing by enters and such doesn’t seem to be a the controlling factor.. it almost seems random.

@Devs… underwater combat is horrible, please don’t waste your time producing any more.
@devs, please don’t listen to these people, you don’t need this kind of negativity in your waters. Please spend all your efforts on remaking what could be the most unique and greatest battle platform of all RPGs
you seem focused on the armor bit, but thats not the main argument why it’s unlikely:
1) it’d need a home city with a home zone. And thats why tengu is unlikely, there’s no space for both.
2) Personal Story needs to have a unique twist. Luckily, if lorewise the race doesn’t join the pact until after Zhaitan’s death, they can just have their own unique story until lv80 and then ‘join the pact’-right after the assault on Lion’s Arch (they’d still need a good reason why they weren’t in Orr)
3) dialogue, it would several new voice actors
4)
I have a guildie who had over 1k gold. He is broke now to under 100g

‘broke with under 100g’
If you 100g is insignificant to you, you know where to mail it
Grubs are just grubs. Corrupted wurm-babies. They’re a bit conveniently placed, but maybe since they’re not created minions but rather, corrupted, they can maybe be controlled by other elder dragons who took their domain.
I personally think the grubs were just an oversight on how far the dragon’s stolen domains go. Don’t think too much about it

What comes with a new weapon:
- Playstyle that must be unique, and balanced
- Fit in with every collection (There’s a LOT of collections and sets right now
- animations
- Legendary and Precursor
There are currently 115 unique sets (meaning full ~16 sets of weapons) not counting legendaries, precursors and eventual indivuities
(edited by Amaimon.7823)
we won’t get a new class anymore, we only got Revenant to even the heavy trio with the other two trios.
From now on we will just get elite specializations.
Scythe, Greataxe and Spear and high on everyone’s list. But I don’t think we’ll get one this year. Anet didn’t even have time for halloween and wintersday this year, I don’t think they even have time for their ‘expansion’
My guess is as good as any, but I think the tuesday wintersday ends will come with a trailerpatch and then next week the content
Oh sure I like them! Who wouldn’t like a race of beings that can swim underwater, have a kitten transformation and yet can’t take care of themselves. Pathetic.
I sense a bias here, “Leviathan”
So you make an offensive post, and infract the people who feel offended, gotcha.
I will then rewrite my post so it contains only fact statute so you can’t infract it again:
Your claim is > (ps)Berserker is a low risk high reward
Reality is > (ps)Berserker is a high risk medium reward
Your claim is > Berserker is a noob build
Reality is > Berserker takes a LOT of experience to play and not die on high end content
I will concede that a large chunk of the playstyle is easy to learn. Maybe it has the nerfiest learning curve of all builds. but the top percentage damage actually is one of the hardest, requiring a lot of experience and a different playstyle from other classes
Very interesting ideas.
However, all I want is a decent UI.
A Decent UI
A DECENT UI!!!!!
One I can customize and eliminate the freaking minimap if I feel like, or hide all the in-game spam if I don’t want to see any notification, or one that allows me to make disappear the “OnMouseOver” skill descriptions that hide a huge portion of my screen. A User Interface that let me put the toolbars wherever I want.
That’s all I want…. a decent UI
sniff
That’s it
That was beautiful..

First time? When you DC on a popular map, your spot is instantly filled by someone else. Maps are capped at 150 people. DC is pretty much game over in gw2
Shes talking to elders of a gentle race
Anyone get the reference?

Norn would be crushed first as their enemies are within their walls. The centaurs are withdrawn, they wont attack until they got a new shaman. The flame legion is mord aggresive. The maguuma and south kryta still has undead washing up. I think asura and humans actually stand the best chance
Last night i was reminded of another Hell in fractals:
Artherblade path cannon stage. I have signet of endursnce, yet i dont have enough dodges to deal with the exploding corpses, exploding allies and exploding cannonrain.Have you tried using the fractal potions, notably the mobility potion? That extra endurance refill rate would be extremely helpful in getting more dodges.
It hurts my soul when I see people doing T4s without potions, especially when they end up downing so often.
Yes, i use potions occassionally, not the large versions in t3 though. Yikes.. 8000 tokens for the infinite. Then I cant buy regular mist potions along the way.. even gift of ascension is only 500 tokens
Well only the Offensive potion is 8,000 relics, both the Defensive and Mobility potion are 5,000 relics each. And if you are having trouble staying alive, then 1 of those will be much more helpful than the Offensive potion would be
There are 15 daily fractals each day assuming you can run T4 fractals already. This means you can earn 15 Pristine relics each day, which can be converted directly into 225 fractal relics each day. Not counting the regular relics you get from doing dailies/any other fractal you might complete, you would need to do your dailies for only 23 days before being able to afford an infinite Defensive or Mobility potion. Its really not that bad.
And if we count the regular relics you would get from running fractals:
- You would get 64-76 relics from doing the T4 dailies
- You would get 30+ relics from doing the daily recommended fractals if you did all 3
At most, you would need 5,000 / (225 + 64 + 30) = 16 days to get a Defensive or Mobility potion. So in just over a month of doing all fractal dailies each day, and spending no relics on fractal potions mind you, you would have enough for both the Defensive and the Mobility potions
Good tip. Kudos, mate
My wishes are(brace yourself is a quite long list
) :
-Tengu as a playable race
impossible, its about as much effort for anet as an entire expansion
-Going to Kourna and elona other then the Crystal desert
theres a leak “papaya” that hints at us going to monsoon oasis “CD”
-Ride the Junundu like in Gw1
Gods YES
-Have the Dervish coming back as an elite spec with the scythe as a new weapon
Hmmm… for which class, and how would it work, it cant be the six gods
-Have the Ritualist as the supporter elite spec for the Necromancer.
Misa approva
-Proper single mission introducion to the elite specs.
yes, please, for them to pop in out of nowhere was kinda weird
-Have the players characters talk between them in the main story so that the other members of the party don’t feel like just random bystanders.
like random chats thrown in the group. If another player’s present, they respond, otherwise an npc responds. What i want back are the racial quips. I missed how norn and asura get treated the same by taimi…
-A branching, interesting and long storyline, with meaningful choices like the main story(the orders storylines), so that it makes sense to replay the full story. I’m missing this so much in Hot…I just played it once and that was it.
yes, but dont expect it to happen, maybe branching routes in missions like HoT did is the best we can expect
-BUILD SAVING
likely to come some day
-Normal camera mixed with the pointing and auto attack of the action camera.
?
-More armors that we had in Hot.
i want that, too, but apparantly theyre very time consuming
-Dungeons to come back
dungeon team is dead. We get fractals and raids
-Small group contents (2-5 players)
could use more of that, yes
-Slap Braham in the face…with a chair
made of steel.. with spikes
-Activities being a proper Pvp mode to play with a party
-Activities like keg brawl to be implemented as guild activities.
-Hidden things with clues to find.
-A cool final boss fight not like the tiny Mordremoth at the end of the Hot story.
-Did I already say BUILD SAVE?Humm and that’s it for now.. well it wasn’t that long of a list in the end
Hopefully not.
I actually don’t care if other players have what I have, but I do appreciate if a game has those “I’ve been there when…” items that don’t come back.
I was there, too. I was having a roundup of my internship so I couldn’t finish the achievement.
Does that mean I wasn’t there?
I haven’t noticed any effect from anything resembling what you speak of. I’ve already spent 60+ hours in here easily with 30 hours in one sitting. Just recently I had one Charr doing it to everybody screaming “SNIPED!” when people would fall. If you see people consistently doing it to others and you want to make an attempt at some kind of retribution screenshot the chat and file a complaint. Webster define harass as to annoy or bother (someone) in a constant or repeated way so this falls under the guise of a legitimate reason to report them.
Is that why I’ve seen people getting randomly targeted? Because I have not noticed any effect from it
No, players are being targeted if someone thinks they’re hopping.
If you see someone at the start, and then suddenly at the end in a few seconds, target them. Then you can keep an eye on them to see if they’re really hopping, and then you can report them for cheating/botting/etcNo. Them targeting is their attempt to troll. They’re trying to make you fall by providing a distraction.
why would a red crosshair distract you, though? If you fail because of that, maybe jumping puzzles weren’t your thing in the first place.
Just look at the course and your own character, ignore everyone else, crosshair or not
What I love about asura is how diverse they are.
Initially they are portraiyed as a genius or magitech-hyper-intelligent species
And then come a few asura who care very little about technological advancements and just want adventure or societal lives
Is that why I’ve seen people getting randomly targeted? Because I have not noticed any effect from it

OP, sounds like you might have melee assist turned on. If you turn it off, do you still have that problem?
Even if they have melee assist turned on, characters shouldn’t be solid until theyé actually targetted. Even if they have the crosshair, all OP has to do is not click on that player
It’d be something like this
https://dviw3bl0enbyw.cloudfront.net/uploads/forum_attachment/file/217599/x2b97.gif

I think odds are about as high as LS1 itself returning……..

What? That sounds almost like a bug.
Maybe you have the combat supporter option on, that prevents you from running through tagged enemies. But as long as you dont click on that person the shouldnt be solid for you.
Im sorry to say, but if players in the JP apear solid to you, thats pretty anomalous, not something for anet to bother with. Just dont target them and turn the setting of combat support of. If you still collide with people its just a bug.. but you shouldnt be colliding with people normally in the first place
Last night i was reminded of another Hell in fractals:

Even sfter googling i still dont get the joke..
Originally, the Mystic Forge in LA was replaced with a snowglobe, which had miniaturized models of the jumping puzzle and snowball mayhem and bell choir. The maps in lore were literally inside that snowglobe. Toypocalypse and Tixx’s Infinitarium take place in… Tixx’s airship called ‘Infinitarium’.
These maps have nothing to do with the GW1 snowball arena which Amaimon talks about.
Mechanically, these maps are part of the Kryta region, I believe.
I never said the gw1 wintersday map and gw2 were the same map. I just said the map used in gw1 was a realm grenth and melandru competed over.
And yes, the infiniarium is an airspace made by Tixx. Where the minigames are functionally i dont know, inside the snowglobe is a good possibility.
As for the mechanical location, it is the pvp realm. We know that as a fact because its whats causing all the bugs they cant fix. Because they forced a pve style game into a pvp engine. Why they ever did that is beyond me, but seperating it now as much effort as completely remaking everything, so anet is kinda like sucking up the bugs because they dont have the time to fix it
The reason ventari is part of the immunity is because if you live the lifestyle of his tablet, you can filter out mordremoths thoughts from your own. In turn, the nightmare lifestyle has a similar effect.
The reason the CoE experiment is not considered valid is because of the lab conditions. Now that in itself isnt argument but saying lab conditions are sped up replications of natural conditions simply isnt right. In a lab you CAN do things that dont occur naturally because certain conditions arent met in nature. The reason we cant count the inquests experiment as a valid argument is because we dont know how he made a creature with multidragon energies. So its still entirely possible it was made under conditions that dont occur in nature.
Simply put, unnatural lab conditions performed by asuras are no proof that the same can happen by dragons in nature. Different creatures, different conditions, different intentions.
I never said it was a fact that dragon minions cant e corrupted by others, but while theres circumstantial evidence supporting this THEORY all evidence that disproves it is made under conditions dont occur where the dragons are.
IF dragons can corrupt other minions they either dont want to or dont have the natural capacity to do so, maybe minions die if they get controlled by two dragons or they simply follow the leader with the strongest will which would inately be their creator.
Its an observable theory and assuming dragon minions can be corrupted by other dragons means nothing if it doesnt occur in natural conditions
.
“Second, this is essentially claiming that the Inquest know how to manipulate dragon energies in ways that the dragons themselves can’t. I find this improbable.”
To answer this: its not impropable at all. Because maybe the dragns can but simply dont do it because the effort of corrupting one enemy minion can be offset by simply creating 10 of your own.
(edited by Amaimon.7823)
Ri- was for ring bells which is also constantly full
Aside from any lore reasons, hybrid minions, like Mordem destroyers and branded undead would be cringe-inducing bad fiction, and should never be given serious consideration.
I think calling them hybrids is a bit farfetched. When I hear Hybrid I think of 50/50 or 40/60 creatures. But the destroyers are destroyers, even the deathtouched and vinegrown destroyers are still like 85-90% destroyer
and the rotting icebrood was still like 80% ice.
So think of them not as hybrids but magically enhanced creatures
as BF said, one dragon minion cannot corrupt another dragon’s minions.
Says nothing ever.
This was already true because even before mordremoth awoke we knew that sylvari were immune to Zhaitan’s ressurections.
Which is outright stated during HoT promotions to be the Pale Tree’s doing, not because of the sylvari’s origins.
It’s a retconned conversation about sylvari. During PS they already mention that sylvari are immune, but at the time they’re not ‘dragon minions’ yet, so people just assumed they were immune because they were plants.
The immunity is not just simply ‘because of the pale tree’.
It’s the combined effort of Ventari and the Dream, and not even the Pale tree controls the Dream, she just acts as its vessel.
And regardless of how immune dragon minions are to each other, there are no documented cases one dragon corrupting another, and some flimsy conversations of NPCs mentioning dragon minion crosslinked immunities.
I’m not sure exactly how true the immunity of dragon minions is, but so far the entire community has accepted it as a propable theory that dragon minions can’t be corrupted by other elder dragons.
It’s just like gravity, since it’s not yet fully understood, it’s a theory and not a law. But since no contradictory evidence exists it doesn’t matter if it’s a theory or a law, it’s an observable constant.
“While the other races may be corrupted by the Elder Dragons, turned into undead minions or crystalline creatures of the Brand, the sylvari are never turned. Those born of the Pale Tree simply die before the corruption takes hold. Many sylvari believe that this is because they were born to battle the dragons, blessed with a certain protection against their most horrible powers. Some non-sylvari scholars state instead that the sylvari’s strange biology foils the corruption of the dragons. A few clever souls state that sylvari just taste bad to dragons. No one knows for certain which is the truth.”
I found this on the promo teksts of the game when it was first released. If the sylvari proved that in their kind there is no other-dragon corruption, and other dragon minions also showed no signs of being corrupted by other elder dragons I see no reason to deny a plausible theory
(edited by Amaimon.7823)
they might be worth more later, but not so much more that I think it’s worth stockpiling them. I’m just selling them now. If you got a use for the money, you might as well just sell ‘em now. I don’t think they’re gonna be more than 2-3s extra
No OP on this topic, whats about?
Im not aware of any lodestone abuse..
’Functionally" all seasonal instances are in the mists, thats the buggy source because they run the PvP engine.
Reality (ingame speaking) it’s all an asuran lab simulating a winter wonderland.
The original winterland in GW1 was a domain alternately ruled by Grenth and Melandru
Why are people so against making it easier for other people to see things? I guess ‘cause it’s easy for you it must be easier for everyone else, huh?
Also the Halloween JP wasn’t technically moving. It was just an illusion. If you went too slow, you’d die. Similar to the Wintersday one. Weird, isn’kitten
It’s the slippery slope of difficulty. Now matter how easy, people will always want it easier. As a result, 75% of the people find the JP boringly easy and can farm/grind it million times an hour while 2% of the population is on the forum whining how hard it. How far do you go to cater difficulty until the entire game becomes: press spacebar to win
The wispy stuff made the Halloween JP a lot easier with regards to seeing stuff, so I don’t see why they don’t also do it for Wintersday.
And I agree on not letting you join an instance that only has 2 minutes left. In the bell choir, it’s already over by that point and you can’t actually get anything.
Because the Halloween JP is a moving living jumping puzzle. You need all the sight you can get. The Wintersday JP is just a jumping from platform to platform. Big white discs floating in the sky. As long as you don’t stand still too long you don’t need too much sight. You can see the next platform, be there a norn there or not. The platform is larger
laying Chicken – 1 AP, Chicken Chaser title
Repeatedly kicking the same chicken until it explodes and down you. You will get this achievement right away.
Sadly this is all the intel Dulfy has.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Playing-chicken-achievement-not-working found another topic of people with this problem. I don’t know what it is, because I’ve seen people get it just fine. Maybe it’s circumstantial, maybe an active event is interfering, maybe it’s luck-based, maybe you need to have a story step up or passed (I did it after completely finishing and closing the chapter)
There is:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Caithe's_Bloom_Dagger
But agreed, a sword in the same design would be cool, but then other people will want their versions, too. Snowball rolling down the hill, it will be a collection of Caithe’s Design weapons. I don’t think it’s feasible to make more as it is now. They’d have to make a full Bloom set selling them for 600 gems each to be fair to the people with the daggers, or make the dagger an anomaly purchase which will only upset more people
They need to keep going higher. Legendaries are too undervalued and mystic coins are only part of the solution.
Mystic Coins are needed for a lot more than legendaries, genius, including the mystic weapons needed for the elite spec collections and a lot of skins that used to be comparative in price with crafted exotics.
Exactly:
Legendary weapons make up 13% of the total Mystic Coins crafting list.
> Increasing the value of a legendary isn’t done by making 1 item excrutiantingly expensive. Instead, add items that are onlly earned by playing the game. increase the cost of the smaller things, maybe more T6 mats or more tokens earned in various gameplays. But making 1 specific item extremely expensive, especially when that item is also used in other crafting like Mystic Weapons, Winters Presence (the list goes on) you’ll just upset the community without creating anything of value
But you’re assuming more people are hoarding coins to sell them, as opposed to more people saving coins because they plan to make legendary weapons, which is what I do.
you’re putting words in my mouth, I never said they were hoarded for selling. I simply stated they were hoarded.
As their value increase, some will hoard them for selling, and some will hoard them because they fear they may never get them again because of the price, and some because are or plan to craft stuff
as BF said, one dragon minion cannot corrupt another dragon’s minions.
This was already true because even before mordremoth awoke we knew that sylvari were immune to Zhaitan’s ressurections.
What CAN happen is that now Jormag and Primordus can IMITATE mordrem creatures
Ya know most rich people don’t hoard mystic coins to manipulate the market, most would just sell it a high price and invest it elsewhere for easier money. Mystic coins as a market isn’t that profitable at all and you guys are complaining about Mystic coins when just last week or 2 they were 68s!
The only reason they went up so much is because of winters presence… if you’re smart you’ll wait until Wday is over THEN make it when the coins are 68s again…
This isn’t some kind of natural inflation of mystic coins prices, this is obviously a demand spike so quit complaining or next time maybe plan ahead and buy the mystic coins beforehand.
That’s BS and you know it.
It’s not the wintersday presence that’s driving the costs, and they weren’t 68s just last week.
Early december ‘15 it was ~15-20s, after that, in the course of 6-7 months it climbed to 80s, until it reached its current steadline in end july (75-80s) and now since july is has stabilized a bit, but it’s still slowly climbing.
The problem is: more collections and recipes enter the game requiring more mystic coins. More mystic coins do not enter the game. the price of a single mystic coin increases. more people hoard their coins. Hoarded coins and more recipes mean a self-inducing cycle of increasing rarity
It looks better than the female version, female version has a tablecloth on its butt :’(
I hadn’t noticed it yet.. but now I do.. and it’s quite ugly
