Huh, I didn’t even know about the story until I noticed this thread.
Nope, I’m not in a guild. I have only a personal guild for bank space.
Of course the game is pointless. Every game is pointless. Being pointless waste of time is the point of every game!
I keep hitting the mines in Minesweeper. Very bad game design!
Hmm  =
seems to work

Some old thread that has some of them listed.
Money pouch that had about 7 silver
Worst living story update so far for me. I don’t do dungeons so an update with only a new dungeon path and nothing else does not offer much to do :P
It depends on how you like to play.
I don’t like full dps builds. They are boring. I build all my characters in a hybrid way so that they are durable, fun, and have enough dps for my needs. I don’t do dungeons so I am free to play my chars how I like. :P
Yeah.. 4g per reset is a bit too much:P
Yes, the books were always an option but cost prohibitive. I had hoped this new item would come in the form of those books, sold by a vendor for silvers, maybe at 2x the cost of a reset (~7s).
As for costs, anyone know what the approximate cost would be for gold -> 70 gems? (I’m at work atm)
70 gems is about about 3,5 gold
Yep Jumping Puzzle pirates do count, I just did it there.
Thanks!
So now the question is, will there be something like this every day where we can pull it off outside of a dungeon?
No idea what the daily will be tomorrow, but I hope so.

Note that all of these (especially the last one) are huge balance issues that make half of the game’s builds bad in PvE.
It is exactly that, a balance issue. Now pretty much every build is “bad” if talking about only dps. Direct damagers lose their crits, condition damagers lose most of their dots and tanky/healy builds are not doing much damage anyway compared to pure dps builds.
They are all bad, but they are just as bad as every other possible build. People can actually play the builds they like to play anywhere else in the game and not feel more useless than the others.
Guess what happens the moment they allow for example critical hits on bosses, and do the necessary HP increase. How many different builds will then be “accepted” to these fights? What happens to all of those builds that are not pure dps.
“Berserker only please.”
Same thing with conditions if they turn out to be more effective than berserkers.
A simple change like allowing unlimited amount of dots and/or critical hits would not encourage people to use lots of different builds. It would be the exact opposite. It would encourage people even more to use only pure berserker or pure condition damager, nothing else.
Does it really even matter?
If they “fix” this, it just means that they will also multiply the boss health so it still takes the same amount of time to kill.
Same with crits. If contstructs would be crittable, they would also have 2x health.
Yes, it matters for all condition builds, and also crit builds, and for players that don’t want to have to kitten their builds, redo their traits, change their armor set and basically have to become melee class in order to register damage on a boss.
No, it doesn’t matter if your toon is a PVT warrior or guardian spamming 1 against the object.
If they want to have build diversity it needs fixing.
I’m not against the fix in any way, but my point was that would it after all be nothing more than a cosmetic change? Sure, numbers would be bigger and there would be a lot more of them, but the boss would still take the same amount of time to kill.
For example, conditions and crits are not working now, so Mark 2 golem now takes 10 minutes to kill.
If they fix the Golem in a way that all conditions and crits are working and everyone gets 100% dps out of their characters, they also would have to buff the golem’s health so it would still take 10 minutes to kill.
Of course it would feel nice to get to blast away at full power.

Wintersday festival. Bell choir minigame was great and I’ve always loved turret defense games. I was very surprised to see those in an MMO. And I even managed to do the jumping puzzle.
Second would be Sanctum even though I didn’t do the dungeon thing. It also had nice new ideas and a nice athmosphere.
Edit: Oh and have to add that The Great Toymaker is my favorite melody for the season from now on

What, Tequalt will be removed?
I dunno…. I know people who seemingly have zero issues with gw2 performance wise.
That also depends on the player. For me 15 fps and above is “zero issues” and some other player may complain that anything under 60 fps is completely unplayable.
Put any randomly picked group of people together and you will see it happen. There will always be the common types of people.
There will be the boss, the whiner, the attention seeker, the teenager, the old wise man, the troll, the joker, the accomplisher, the stoned one, the primadonna etc… and a lot of the quiet ones who just do their job and move on.
Larger the group, more likely it is that there will be two or more of each kind and it will cause conflicts.
Bosses trying to boss each other, attention seekers battling of attention, jokers trying to be funnier than the other, accomplishers trying to prove that they are better than the other accomplishers, stoned ones going O.O, trolls trolling each other.. and the quiet ones doing the job and moving on
I doubt that a boss fight can cause so much stress that it is actually causing changes in personality and/or behavior or reveal something they are trying to hide.
howled the dragonborn
There’s one POI directly under Doric’s Waypoint. It can only be seen on map when zoomed completely in. Because you cannot see it in the map on normal zoom, it is easily missed if you just get the WP and don’t enter the camp.
I missed it with my last character and spent quite a lot of time there too trying to figure out what I was missing.
Scarlet when she
Indeed. When the event starts, AFK timer should switch to the lot shorter one, like the one that is used for example in Sanctrum Sprint.
use the cannon..
No lag at all. Was very smooth and all worked well. Tequalt didn’t die tho but that was expected :P
It sounds like you are talking about this skill:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lightning_Storm_%28Sanctum_Sprint%29
As the wiki says, that skill replaces the lightning rod in the second half of the race. It does not need a target, has unlimited range and affects all runners in the zone.
You are not being griefed by someone. Other runners are just using the skills when ever they get. Also there is an achievement for skill uses so people are just collecting skills and spamming them as much as they can before crossing the finish line.
In the last 6 months I have bough two things from gem store. One armor skin set and a quiver skin. I’m not interested in cute town clothes, rng boxes or buffs.
I’m quite sure that they want some money from people like me too. More armor and weapon skins please!
If you feel harassed or verbally abused by another, the best thing you can do is report the person. There is a handy tool in-game just for this. Or, you can play with map chat off, as I do. Lol. When someone tells me I can’t do something in-game, that is allowed, I just ignore them, and go about my business. It is an open world, you can kill whatever you like. That’s my take on it, anyway. =)
That’s not the point ,at least when it comes to queeensdale. Its about first impressions and if that first impression is a bad one you’re not going to leave your first play session with a very good taste in your mouth .
I agree. Every day there seems to be more and more raging about champions in Queensdale. It really does not look good in the eyes of a new player. How could they know that the Zerg owns these mobs now. If they touch a champ at the wrong time, they will get yelled and even threatened with griefing/harrassment reports.
What a fun way to start the game. :P
It’s happening even more in Frostgorge but that does not hurt the new ones.
I have the exact same problem and it started at the same time as yours. Crash is always after 3-4 hour client uptime during a world boss or scarlet invasion. I’ve played since launch and have not had any crashes before that patch. I haven’t changed anything in my system and have not overclocked anything.
(edited by Ameepa.6793)
Honor of Humanity is pretty nice short sword. Using those myself.
Finding good looking one handed swords really is hard. Almost all of them are so huge that they should be greatswords :P
(edited by Ameepa.6793)
I’ve started to get crashes too lately. It’s always during a world boss or invasion.
Strange thing is that when invasion patch came, I did not have any crashes, I could do 10 invasions in a row without problems. I have not changed anything in my system and have not noticed any problems anywhere else.
You don’t have to salvage items to get 300% luck. You get 50 from each daily and 500 from monthly so it’s 2000 each month. It will take you only about 166 years to get to 300%. It’s a long term goal.
Do the same calculation of how quickly you’ll get ascended weapons/armour, precursor (when it can be crafted) or even legendary with just doing dailies/monthlies… yes, minimum effort will make it a very long term goal. Putting in a lot more will probably reduce that to a few months.
I’m pretty sure that I can’t even count that far, but a rough guess would be that when you finish your legendary, you will be living in Mars.

Salvaging exotics is larger gold sink than salvaging bound “free” drops. And if the mats would be only salvageable from other ascended items, it would limit ascended weapons to only those who do fractals.
Add Mystic forges to racial cities and the population will rise.
That’s the only thing that keeps me in LA.
That sentence has puzzled people for over 20 years now.
I did a jumping puzzles today and got 7, I need 500 to craft a weapon.
Which implies it is gonna take me 71 days to gather enough materials.
I think you misunderstood the “once per day” limit on these. It is once per day, per jumping puzzle, per character. You seem to get 2-7 mats per puzzle but you can do more than one puzzle each day and even with multiple characters if you want. And as the poster above me said, you get mats from other chests too around the world.
As long as the other characters are 80. Non 80s don’t seem to get the mats to drop, which isn’t really a surprise. I found out the hard way though.
Did a jp on a alt cause she was closer and no fragments.
Which JP was that? Just asking because I did the hidden garden yesterday on 80 character and did not get fragments at all from that one. Are they even supposed to be 100% drops?
It was just the demongrub pits in Queensdale.
It seems to be 100%, but I went back to a couple of the mini dungeons (Spekk’s Lab apparently counts as one) and they hadn’t even reset after the dailies reset. O.o Not sure if thats common or not. Never had that issue before.
Hidden garden could of just been forgotten.
Not many people go there other then for the achievement.
Yeah, thought so too that it might have been a bug or some other error. Poor hidden garden, always forgotten. I like the place. Even got a precursor from there once.

Luckily I did read the warning text and switched to other character :P
Now that’s thinking inside the box.
Indeed
Luckily I did read the warning text and switched to other character :P
I don’t like any of the current legendaries so I’m not going for any of them. Maybe if they someday introduce one with realistic look and without flashy effects.
I will keep on crafting ascended parts when ever I happen to have gathered enough stuff during my normal playstyle, but not going to farmfarmfarm for those either.
It might be only one step now, but usually the first step is followed by the second step.
There just is no point to add only one new tier. Those who did not want gear progression at all hate it, and it is not enough for those who want it.
There will be Ascended tier 2 next year.
Ascended underpants.
with utility infusion slot?
@ Mirta.5029
My highest level crafting is 170 ish there has been no reason to level it up the TP tends to be cheaper to buy then craft all armor and weapons are easy “getable” though other then gold means.
There is a lot things you can craft in GW2 most of it is pointless sadly this should give a reason for ppl to level up crafting.forcing people into only one way to get a new gear tier is not a good way to make crafting worth it. Introducing lots of awesome new weapon and armor skins that only crafters could make is a good way to do it. A new gear tier should be accessible by various means.
There should not be a new gear tier at all.
There is no such thing as failure in invasions. They are not like other events. You cannot fail them. Invading forces are always succesfully pushed back. Reward depends on how many waves we manage to defeat before they are pushed back.
Honest question, why is it that it’s okay that some people can’t live with cosmetic only progression, but it’s not okay that some people can’t live with gear progression?
Maybe ANet figures that the progression demographic will follow through on their threats to quit and the no progression demographic won’t. After all, they can go to other games that feature gear progression. Where can we go?
Progression demographic has games that do progression much bettrer than GW2. Old and few on horizon. And they certanly wont be satisfied with ascended.
There is a major conflict between players who want gear progression and those who don’t. Ascended is what you get when you try to cater to both.
And the funny thing is that it really caters only those who want gear progression. Like in every other MMO.
