Remember that there also is (at least used to be) a difference in gameplay between these two games. In GW2 you are able to just roam solo and do anything there is in game and play just when and how much you want. In WoW you need a serious raiding guild, and dedicated raiding times to be able to do pretty much anything.

You can’t be poor in this game, everyone has the same ability to make money. Anyone asking for money is either a scammer, a lier, or lazy. Possibly all three.

I mostly pvped, so I’m poor by definition.

Being a pvp player does not mean being poor. 5g per day from hot-join or 15g from tournaments. 15g each day is good money.
Also being a pvp:er does not prevent playing the TP and that is where the big money is for PVE players too.

Maybe you would fall in that “impatient” category then :P

Since crafting the legendary rifle, the Predator, I can’t help but notice many of its shortcomings. While you do get the neat fire aura and sci-fi sound effects, you get no aura unless the weapon is active. The footstep effects are also the worst of any legendary; tiny fire explosion “donuts” which trail behind your character a whopping five feet. I see others leaving trails 15-20 feet behind their characters. Where’s the love, ArenaNet? This legendary needs a serious overhaul to bring it up to par with other existing legendarys.

These are the exact reason why I made one so I really hope they do not change the effects to be more flashy. I like how it sounds and how the effects behave. Checked lots of videos before making it just to be sure that it really works like that and not like other overly flashy annoying leges. I especially hate the footstep thing on the others.

Take it as a lesson and be happy that it happened in a game and not in real life with real money.

Open world PvP (aka Player vs Gankers/griefers) is the worst thing ever invented in MMOs.

100% agree. Theres so many nice skins in the game but most of them suffer from being oversized which makes them look odd.

I was considering getting the Ley Line focus because its the first non pink glowy focus which goes relatively well with infinite light. Unfortunately its too big so i have changed my mind. It would be perfect if it was half the size. They dont need to be huge to look nice anet!

That coordinated group is probably just the zerg going from world boss to world boss. World bosses spawn on fixed schedule so you always know what boss is going to spawn next and where.

You can join these boss events when ever you see them just like any normal event. Just go in and start to shoot at things. You don’t even have to be grouped with anyone here to get credit for the kills and events. Everything is free for all.

Lots of new titles are coming with player housing and the largest older ones are adding it if they don’t already have it, so I don’t think housing is just “stuff that hardly anyone will use”.

I’m not getting it because I got a feeling from OPs post that he wants to change much more than just to remove the ability to send gold by mail. That could be achieved simply by removing the ability to mail gold. No need to bind anything or change currencies and mess up the markets.

There is no trading between players, that’s why there is a TP.

TP is exactly that, trading between players. You are buying stuff from other players and selling your stuff to them. If the currency would be account bound and non-tradeable like OP suggested, you would not be able to do that.

Might give this a try, but one thing I’ve found is that holding down the right mouse key (camera rotate) diminishes jumping capability in some slight way. It either effects the height / distance range of the jump slightly or enables some difference in the character’kitten box so potential terrain collisions happen differently when the rotate camera button is held during the jump.

PvE players are unknown because unlike PvP, PvE isn’t based on individual player skill. It is a group effort. You cannot put members of the group in order based on their skill level.

People do not care who is that one player in the group that managed to do something, but they might care about the group as a whole.

For example everyone in raiding games knows the top world first guilds, but who can name any of their members?

PvE recognition is for guilds and groups, not single players.

You never tried loading for Halloween (or any holiday) in LA or LA period when it still existed. It probably more on 5-10 minutes now for some highly populated areas and no more than 2-5 for others.

Sounds like your computer has some serious problems or it’s a lot below minimun requirements of the game. Have you checked?

Those gems are not going anywhere so you don’t have to spend them all immediately. You could just save them for now and wait until you find something that you actually need or want.

I don’t understand why they changed the daily in a way that you cannot choose anymore which 5 you want to do. Have to do those exact 5 things that the game has chosen or be “forced” into WwW or sPvP. Fun.

Fixed schedules for bosses.. I should be staring at the clock now while playing solo to do the bosses? No thanks.

This mechanic was introduced in lotro when RoR expansion went live I think it was and I don’t like that at all.

Yes, it came in RoR because they added mounted combat and with those mechanics it would be pretty hard and annoying to loot traditionally.

It is true that it feels a bit strange while on foot, but very convenient tho.

+1 totally support this, never understood why they designed the auto loot this way, to me auto loot means everything goes directly into your inventory.

What would also be good, is to have an overflow loot bag system like in Lotro, so if ur bags are full while running a dungeon or w/ever it goes into this overflow bag and you can collect it once back in town.

Lotro has that overflow system probably only because bag space is very limited and there is no way to expand it.
