Noone is really bothered by weakness epis, bleed, chill and torment ones are way stronger, even poison is. If you want mass weakness on a group cpc and plague form do the job for longer and probably better than a epidemic on a weakned target.
a) the vampiric trait would still get changed even if any changes go to the blood line itself, it was kitten, it is kitten and will be kitten for quite some time (125 hp being static regen for pretty much every other equivalent it has that doesnt even require hitting stuff/combat), but if you look at alt healing build of a guardian, a dagger necro that could heal for around 100 pre hit in a aoe would cause quite a hp difference over every fight thats bigger than a 2v2 and it would be quite really useful in most dungeons.
b) No its increased to 10 (10 – current duration of well in question = number of seconds the well lasts longer), not increased by 10 (so 5/6/7 depending on well + 10).
WoD is still mostly a annoyance factor, blocking invul and cc are all still better as defensive tools and for WoP, please take a look at contemplation of purity, cleansing flames, purging flames, healing rain, healing spring and fumigate in terms of condi removal and secondary effects.
c) Believe it or not, most minior master traits are actual anchors of a build, if not then the entire line has strong synergy with the grandmaster part (e.g. mesmers 4th shatter on self that entirely changes their scailing and playstyle)
Following most good traitline miniors its: Secondary effect on something that you often do for role the line is in, change in efficiency, damage boost or aplification of strength of the traitline.
Necro is never taken for any speedrun path.
Anyway back on topic. Tainted shackles is far from op. Its balanced and the only change that should happen is making it instant cast (although its not that important). Id also like to see more cast time reductions, pretty sure devs said they would be looking into that but they havent yet.
Necro for Ghost/turrets on AC and pretty much every CM helps quite a lot with mob control, since the bosses tend to be cheezy with one shots but still count LF as hp thus waste them on you and the annoying snipers/necros/dogs/gravelings are turned at least close to a normal pile of hp, thing is they aint run that much for gold/record kills/any general reason whatsoever). We are a poor mans situational mob control guardian with noone of the boons (ele being the reverse and rangers middle of the line with strongest max possible healing with the duration and finishers on spring with pets for additional meat). Overall not optimal for speed runs (nor is a thief as you stated), but people still tend to pick em up, only profession i never really saw in a speedrun is a engie for some reason…
Dont change current vampiric master, ok maybe add that the minions heal themself for the same amount, but in general it does its job well (only of the vamp traits that does actually, how funny thakittens tied to kitten ed minions).
Also about the grandmaster traits, i got a few of my ideas:
Aura of the Vampire – Each time you siphon health, nearby allies (600 range) are healed for 50% of the amount
Inscriptions of Pain – Well duration is increased to 10 seconds and apply 1 second of retaliation pre pulse.

Memo form everyone ever – mesmers caused damage is medicore-good enough for most encounters depending on build, they are in fractals because reflections are op in there and people dont know how to jump/need portals, so utility over damage (reason why you only see 1 mesmer, but up to 2 guardians, thieves in speedruns and sometimes even a necro/ranger/ele depending on path of Arah AC CoE or CM.

Oh frignn please, when will people stop complaining about that, some of the best known religious people trough history wore the heaviest plate armor and strongest base weapons of their time, hell a great example that was even called a evil witch/demon/devil/undead is Joan of Arc, a little teen girl in 1.7 cm thick steel plate that was still more mobile than leather armor (and that was a freaking prototype, it just got better the more it evolved), she was a leader and more importantly a religious symbol for the people and in tyria there have been enough unique weapons tied to gods and magic stuff for any weapon to be used by anyone, not to mention the Warcraft DKS were just necromancers on horses swinging SWORDS, play the original WC or WC2, hell there are multiple WC3 mods and campaign packs with them, WoW just made them “cooler” since the armor distribution wasnt even.
Btw Engie = Ritualist profession that adapted to the time setting.
On that note i really dont care about weapons as long as we dont get pistols/rifles, i dont like the idea of having to share the greatsword madness (mostly because i fear we would get a afk faceroll bar whos 2 skill deals more damage than dagger staff and focus together), but even that would be ok.

Spite – Grasp from the Underworld: Necrotic grasp deals 33% more damage, has increased range (1500), counts as a targeted ground projectile (ele Imaple, mesmer Mind Stab ish fusion, so targeted, spawns from ground/isnt a projectile, 95 radius) and is a 100% projectile finisher.
Soul Reaping – Abyssal Blast: Underwater Life Blast replaces the regular.
Both are gameplay changers for reliability/secondary support effects.
Its nice to see that the counterproductive ideas didnt leave the forums while i was at the seaside.
If anything, TS needs to be instant so that it can be used as a defensive peeling tool instead of just another lockdown…
Like if you dont have a passive condi clear, a strong active/reactive condi clear and 2 stun breaks/a stun break and stability in pvp vs a mesmer necro or warrior, you deserve to die by standing in their burst.

You’re actually running into a bug I’ve known about for a while, but usually isn’t important: while bloodthirst does boost the healing of dagger 2 by 50%, it also decreases the heal-per-pulse by about 5. So in your case, 17 × 1.5 = 25.5, 25 – 5 = 20.
Its not by 5, its by the base scailing value of the skill (so lets say a skill scales by 1;1 , you will lose 100 healing by picking up bloodlust, but will get a 50% increase/additional 33% to the scailing, vampiric that used to give you 25 that gave 39~41 instead of 37 depending on zone since vampiric gets its first point of stealing at level 3), kinda the reason why you dont really notice the difference between vampiric traits/life siphon at lower levels, but you do get a massive boost at high level life siphon and Locust sigil (especially if you get a 10+ hit like on the gravelings in AC trap time). Problem is skills with dual values that still count as siphons get part of their damage turned into lifesteal so its really not accurate to measure since it not only depends on 2 scailings but your weapon hit and enemy armor and the kitten static damage weapons have like level 1 or 2 damage…

40-70 ping depending on time/how kitten y my net provider is/how tardy a maps net code is (like the new BoFW is not only really bad optimized for shadows but breaks net connection like every 40~ minutes, but for some weird reason skyhammer, who came in the same patch is great). Never had a problem with it, but i got used to necro timings (reason why i suck as s/d ele) and bug avoidance, so not to overlap/swap before mark drops, use a life blast post ds before other skills, etc.
Right now there is quite the problem with staff skills (Regen from MOD not applying correcty/priority on minions than players, Putrid only being a 3-5 transfer; i think if you got immob it counts it as 3 condis and marks that get canceled but finish the arm swing/poker card handout move go on full cd).
The woo thing from Maddie was annoying if you dont have any other unlocks.
Honestly Adnul was the easiest one for me since he is the only guy that didnt do bullkitten and just drank himself to death/ff (charr healed to full 3 times from a single drink, took ages, girl spammed no heal and pretty much force killed me over and over since i had nothing on and the sodding asura used her skills like she knew what i was picking, sylvari was generic). AI RNG is still RNG.

All do the job it does but for a smaller stats loss (100~ loss vs up to 300~ loss) with a higher proc chance.
Melandru (wvwvw)/Dolyak (pve), Crests/Orb for stat or a Cond duration increase rune setup (MK, Lyssa, Lich and Nightmare) would overall increase build strength/cover weaknesses better.
Vampirism runes are a pretty weak, 5% proc chance has a internal cooldown longer than a Leeching sigil, does same damage and the buff placers dont stack (so if it procs right after you swap, its wasted – possibly patched it when they fixed weapon swap sigils for eles and engies but never bothered to test again since), the necromancer barely gets any benefit from the 4 and 6 bonuses in comparison to other professions (we have overall some of the highest cd heals and high health pool on a 10% proc that locks off your skills that might let you kill stuff/regen just ends up being a annoyance.
Then again my point was build efficiency while sticking to a general theme, not trying to make build based on said theme no matter if there is actual viable/strong enough options to support it.

Small variations on armor/trinkets for more optimal stats gain, efficiency of sigils (just stack up 25 on any weapon, put it in bag equip real weapon, you dont need to have the bloodlust sigil equipped for the bonus and blood isnt worth the comparison in damage to a force sigil), ruby orbs are the poor mans slot in, most other mentioned runes (stuff like scholars/eagle/thief do more). Last but not least, Golem is a terrible elite for a build based on on hit stuff, as is focus offhand, both locust swarm and just a plague of darkness not only generate more lifestealing but also help the team more (in pve daze is pretty much a stun and mobs rarely drop boons/if they do you got suffering) – not only that but the combination of the 2 and wells will deal enough damage to make every golem cry in shame (since the wells and locusts – and marks if you drop and kite get the power boost of plague) while regening you about 4.2k hp over the 5 second period.
Last little point, you can drop 10 from spite for protection on wells for the team but i detest reanimator and unless the person is playing pvp/minions to troll us, dont go DM (so personal preference thing).
Wouldnt go for more than 20 into BM tree (grandmasters are meh and 25 point trait aint worth it in comparison to what you would get from other trees), Leeching sigils are ok since they are a 900 damage boost pre swap (even if only single target unlike hydro/geo), but vamp runes are 100% a waste.
Overall its a good complementation to a build with points to spare, but not something you should build around (currently), kinda like spectral skills, but way less tanky.
I still think that Kiel is kinda cheating with temporary key sale vs permanent drop in waypoint cost thing since she shouldnt be able to do it via canon… either way i know she is gonna be Kormir.3 (2 being saladmancer who is no longer on tyria it seems since despite leading a massive pact he did nothing vs molten nor ablade).

Its not the execution, that was good, its the engine, it plain isnt designed for physics puzzles.
Note how many times the camera bugs out, note how many times rocks that look the same as the ones you jumped onto not even a minute ago cannot be jumped on because kitten invis wall or plain a bit too much of a angle, note how many times people get teleported back when they use forced mobility skills or just get stuck on small rocks.

I mean the sylvari don’t reproduce so they have no need for much sexual dimorphism. Their genders are only aesthetic, really. It seems part of the reason why sylvari seem to lack a “sexual orientation” as such. I would think it would not be out of place for some sylvari to switch and blur genders.
Yes, thats why i said why are they getting more confusing, it does make sense within the setup, but god knows what that then means to not only all the implied banter between a lot of female and male sylvari (and a lot of possible fanfics), but like doesnt that make the PC sylvari freaks? Unable to swap “gender” without a genetic reformation kit (that you buy from said sylvari).
Though tbh it’s probably the case that Sareb’s canon gender just got swapped by the developers accidentally or for some small reason between that story, which was written IIRC very early in development and release.

I would say we take the least amount of real effort yes. You can’t just walk around pressing 211111121111111211111 like a warrior, but you don’t have to worry about dying at all or anything, you just get mobs, drop AoE, they all die, repeat, and you take pretty much no damage. Its even easier now with DS 5.
No instead we press 6 (WoB) once every 2 minutes and 7-8-9-0 every 5 minutes since minions can solo pretty much everything to level 60~ (to end of mount maelstrom), then risen come and minions get nommed like chocolate bars by a fat guy who was hungering for a weeks.
Overall you can level a necro in open world pve to 80 without ever unlocking 2-4 in DS, but that would make you a really bad player when you start doing dungeons.
Necromancer > Guardian = Ranger > Engineer = Thief > Mesmer > Ele
My Ele was the most difficult partially because he was my first character so I was learning the game on him, but also because Eles have very low base defenses and no built-in active defenses so you have to purposefully engineer their builds to allow them to survive killing even basic mobs.
Id say a mesmer is harder to level then a ele just because they are bloody boring till you get good traits and you are pretty much worthless if you wana use shatters unless you got a staff (yes GS is good for damage, but storm, blink, second chaos armor is just way stronger against groups of kitten y risen or svanir).

Btw for dark path, its tooltip was 900 range, its effect range was 1200 (as all claw projectiles necros have they were 300 range longer in beta 1, then got nerfed in tooltip but not behaviour… oh how i miss you long Ngrasp), so if you hit someone at 1200 youd get pulled for 900, not really a problem since it counted “hit” as edge of model instead of actually dealing damage/bleed thus most of the time you could dagger 1 spam right after D2 even if you casted it from 1200 range.

3 problems with plague:
Its pulsing (not all conditions on allies instead apply to you but pull every 3 seconds condis off – could be 10, was 3 when it was 1 condi)
The cleanse/transfer depends on the enemy being there so obviously except the blind (to that it sometimes still misses for some reason), you must not being knocked down/blowouted or pulled (its transfer projectile fails if you shoot it off from the ground)
Its seperate effects could be very strong, but are blergh as a combination since the need for one or the other effect swaps like every few seconds, even in pve.

As said hope to be there~ Sadly since its gonna be when it ends we cant show off how to cheeze some achivements….
Both are just as viable in pve, for pvp both are currently just as annoying (necros in condi burst factor and thieves in stealth, only that necro dont stay annoying the better you get, again currently), as a thief you dont really have a lot of different playstyles (evade, permastealth and the very rare venom-share thief that is a endangered species since we/they are the only kind of thief that helps a party), but as a necro the difference in playstyle efficiency is minimal (you might be a melee well bomb or ranged pressure condi and youll do pretty much the same), only that minion masters are like that cool friend who always brings that one fat kid with him like on a dogs leash about that you heard that he is smelly and ugly and a terrible person, but it turns out he is just sometimes annoying and generally a polite person with bad table manners that would ruin a birthday party – this goes with minions being generally ok, but sometimes kinda annoying for some mechanics and can ruin a boss fight that depends on target count.
Overall id say make a level 1 of each, go to the mists and test builds/derp around with the golems on the upper left corner of the map and pick what you like more.

So you guys are thinking that ANet is pulling an Aion in the next patch? They could certainly do it and just limit it to a specific location. However, it would be really awkward.
Maybe they’re adding crouch to the game. There are several applications for crouch.
- When falling, pressing the crouch key right before hitting the ground will reduce falling damage by a certain percent and also prevent falling flat on your face
- Let’s you take cover behind certain low height objects so you get extra protection from projectile attacks
- Moving when crouched could potentially allow you to sneak past certain monsters when they would otherwise aggro on you if you got too close
NO, there will be no spunkgargleweewee mechanics in GW2, id rather be a WoW fanboy and say that any of the Crisis games looked worse than WoW then have sheizbrown and boringray mms mechanics in a MMORPG.
The diving platform is a different path from the chest platform. I haven’t yet figured out the path on my own (thanks Mesmers!) — I am waiting for a guild RP run of the place after the crowds are gone, when I shall really explore it. Still, I know if you go to one, you have to go way back down to get to the other.
Its the other way when you get all the way to the top to the iron plank that leads to the top of the airship, the way to the pipes, btw as a mesmer, necro, thief, anything that can portswap back to a location you can get the chest, jump back up on the zep, jump/walk back over the bar and jump up again to the pipes do do it all at one go.
Necros, Rangers, Guardians and Eles got it easy, spawn 2+mobs on chest, go afk for 25 min, come back for achivement of going afk while NPCs fight.
I understand necros and rangers, as well as engis which where missed, but why guards and eles? Their summons have limited durations, so they can’t afk kill as far as I know.

Spirit weapons got a duration (never used them on my alt, never saw anyone and if they did they used them for the second activation that kills them)… Also engie turrets often just kitten stand around next to the mobs so unless you drop a thumper directly where the enemy spawns and you manage to make it hit everyone they wont be of much use/would take way longer.
pre patch i killed necros in a sustain fight. This patch distorted the balance and i am force to take cleansing ire. Oh well, my build bugged and i will not make another warrior build until anet gets their act together
So what you are saying is, before patch you could just attack and win, and now you have to actually try to counter the enemy build, thus the enemy must be overpowered? Oh the humanity, this man is a true…

If by “boon strip and a weak vuln” you mean dazzling and shattered concentration the situation is just bad. Dazzling together with diversion is the base to land huge bursts because its an easy access to 25 vulnerability. Also, Shattered concentration (i talk about this because you quoted it but there are also nice traits) is arguably the best way to deal with boons-based foes when you play shatter (sword chain and clones arent so reliable).
Therefore, you call us stupid because you know, we obviously dont play a mesmer while YOU DO.
Duelist is not “the only exception” in terms of recharge, it is if in your already short career of mesmer you only played pistol OH.
First you say that we should shatter phantasms after their attack, then you claim that retal is nice. Should i shatter after their attack or when they almost have 1 hp left?
That 5 seconds are short enough to disappear before they can even think to die or receive damage in some situations while in others they die quickly. You must live in a beatiful world if you think that mesmer’s illusions always work like “let the phantasm attack, yes now that stupid guy is killing him and deals with retaliatation, well now that the phantasm have 10 hp i can shatter”.

Stating the obvious=/= insulting.
First of all, Phantasams have a set cooldown on their attacks, in all cases except duelist, the cooldown on the weapon (to summon a fresh one) or the recharge time of the attack on the phantasam isnt worth keeping them around (so you shatter, what synergizes with the retal since no attack except wardens takes longer than 3 seconds).
For boon strip again i point to NF and AT since all mesmer skills have dual usage.
Necros, Rangers, Guardians and Eles got it easy, spawn 2+mobs on chest, go afk for 25 min, come back for achivement of going afk while NPCs fight.
Mad Kings Clocktower still the best (and probably will be for the next year) jumping puzzle that is/was so far in GW2
No all you lose is boon strip in terms of traits since the vuln was weak either way.
And Retal on phantasams is still a thing, people (like you 2 guys) who are too stupid to understand that you might actually be supposed to shatter them after they use their skill (duelist being the only exception since he has a low attack recharge).
5 seconds of retal is still a lot, drop a phantasam in a fight, do at least 2.4k damage just by chip aoe damage retaliation.

Necros need the same amount of good design choices as mesmer traitlines (without the op setup of profession mechanic numbers and effects).
Full soldier D/WH neco with staff and 20 into Blood – melee works, you can even tank bosses for a while (4-7 seconds depending on their attack speed) but then you must kite, lucky for us D2 at least doesnt reqire you to face a enemy and ds is a good mid range form (sadly we no longer have real power siege from range, but its at least ok).
One problem a melee necro might face in pve is the introduction of more blinks and cc on mobs, so unless they are balanced out to be fought solo (like the guys in Molten F were) or are plain stupid on ai (reworked orrians and veterans in mini dungeons), you need to time your Reapers Mark, Doom, VoD and Spectral Grasps perfectly not to die (like in the new AR, a melee power necro sadly cannot really solo it with the amount of cc and condis going on).
