That sounds a lot better.
Sure it’s business but you can be customer oriented without trying to milk out every cent.
If you think this is milking out every cent, you should really check out a F2P game.
I think it’s possible, but probably not with existing tools. My first idea is something that “streams” the playlist into files in your GW2 music directory, and generates a playlist file with all the names.
I count myself among the 3rd group, who are aligned with “kitten their eyes for ever making this.”
I fully expect the pronunciation I am less comfortable with (wih-vern), as that seems to be the trend in GW2. I’m looking at you, Geormag.
I guess some people have nothing better to do than rampant speculation about things that have no bearing on their actual lives. I used to do it all the time, back before I had responsibilities an’ sich.
It’s coming back in the future… also you should be happy you don’t look like a WoW kitten like half the population right now.
If you’re going to buy this expansion, buy it. Otherwise don’t. It’s a really simple problem, and for some reason, people love to come on here and overthink the hell out of kitten like this, I guess because they have yet to encounter things in life that are actually important.
Well, since the current way players deal with the awfulness of underwater content is by trying to avoid it as much as possible, I don’t think it would be a very good use of the devs’ time trying to improve something that most people want to never see again. Like you said, it’s a catch 22, but I, for one, certainly don’t feel like I’m missing anything.
Also, what are you on about land spears? That’s not a thing.
Last night I saw 3 Anvil Rock jerks trolling around our borderlands ganking noobs, all wearing these god-awful wings. I can’t wait for this fad to die, just in time for them to release a lazy re-skin.
You seem to have missed a step in your equation. Specifically, the one at which that income has to be put toward more designers and developers to actually create that content.
Just having more money isn’t going to magically make more content happen. Anet would have to expand considerably, and the business of designing, refining, and implementing a strategy like this would take what I think to be a modest minimum of 2 years. And that’s of course assuming that any business decision has ever been made based on one person’s post on a game forum.
I’m not condoning this decision by any means, but I think it’s safe to say that people who don’t plan on getting the expansion probably don’t plan on continuing to play the game for much longer.
Also, old Tyria will hardly be dead. Lots of people are still going to make alts and have to level them. And Anet has said quite clearly (probably Colin at least once) that they don’t want to make old content obsolete with the expansion, so I think they’re going to try to keep it going.

I’m not sure I understand, are you asking, “Why doesn’t everybody keep up with the gems market and buy when it’s low in anticipation of things nobody knows about until they’re released?” Could it be that most people have actual things to do in their lives, and the exchange rate between 2 fake currencies is one of the last things on their minds?
Everybody has the time to get ascended gear. Just gotta work on it a little every day until you get there. Now, that might take a long time, but fortunately you can do most anything in the game and be making progress toward it, as long as you’re getting money.
It sounds like your friends are too lazy to do the work and get the reward, so I don’t know why you want to do it for them. They can have ascended gear when they put in the effort to get it.

Some good ideas, some not so good, but you deserve to be reminded that this post will accomplish nothing beyond letting other players know what you wish the game was like. Devs are never going to see this, especially not with the title you’ve chosen for the thread… pretty much, if the devs aren’t already talking about it in depth with the players, it’s not happening anytime soon.
I’m gonna go ahead and call total BS that you’ve done them every single day since release. I would be shocked to find a single human being that has done this.
In any case, the devs have clearly stated on numerous occasions that there is no such thing as lucky or unlucky accounts. That is purely rumor perpetuated by disgruntled players who refuse to believe that the universe isn’t totally fair, or something like that.
There is nothing polluting or ridiculous about them aside from being too popular.
And, you know, heinously large and showy, at least for something that took zero imagination
You’re free to close your eyes, because we have worse options for back skins.
At least a lot of them are fairly unique. This is pure MMO trope and guaranteed loads of cash.
We all had to face this decision at one point. Just get over it and stop hoarding all that useless junk like the rest of us did.
There is nothing polluting or ridiculous about them aside from being too popular.
And, you know, heinously large and showy, at least for something that took zero imagination
And so it begins
I don’t think this is the game for expansive personal housing options. As somebody said earlier in the thread, all the action is out in the world, and it’s clear that Anet wants as many people out there participating as possible. A housing system would be a waste of the devs’ already stretched-thin time, and I think you’ll find the reason they have never addressed this is that they have no intention of doing it.

Mastery system: Content veriety or exp Grind?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Andred.1087
I would think Tomes of Knowledge would probably not grant a Mastery Point under the new system. Seems kinda broken, especially since the points are account-wide, right?
That sounds pretty interesting. I think there is a lot of room for development on quick-action audio-visual cues from players, and such a system could include many other useful instructions / interactions.
There are a lot of people that they have already suggest it to the staff but isn’t it never considered but we don’t know why this item isn’t already in the game.
Maybe because race directly affects Personal Story, unlike all of the things you can change? There’s a reason it’s been suggested so many times and never considered by the devs, and that is because it’s just not feasible.
Ugh I’m only missing 2 vistas in blue BL, NW tower and garrison… guess I’ll have to wait until I’m on blue team again.
Does that mean on sale or leaving the gem store? It would be insane to remove them after a day – ppl can’t be expected to login everyday to know about these things.
Thats what we are asking for. An answer if after the sale period will be removed from TP or remain in a higher price. We need a Dev answer, no speculations…
Why do we need devs to come and answer everything for us? The real question is, why the hell would they only release it for one day, missing out on loads of people who are already throwing the money at their screens?
Use your brains, people…
AI followers are the most useless things in this game. Quite a shame they’re a cornerstone of Ranger play. I really hope it’s being looked at.
Lol… so you knew what the reward was, and still spent way more on it than it was worth? And you’re blaming Anet for making you feel stupid? Do continue.
From a logical perspective, there would be no reason for Lion’s Arch to be rebuilt at this time.
The reason LA was originally rebuilt was due to its value as a trading port, a reason that currently does not exist since trade with the other continents no longer exists and the Risen threat prevents most ships from going anywhere of value.
Furthermore, a large portion of the population was either killed or displaced, making it unnecessary as a civilian center.
Honestly, it would almost make more sense to change it into a PvE map and put Mystic Forges in the other cities.
except it is still a central hub for trading on this continent of tyria relatively easily accessible from the different home zones for the different races
Given the instant-travel gateways, I would say quite easily accessible, indeed.
One thing that has always bothered me is that it is easier to take a fort that defend and that height plays no factor in this game. I have always thought that height should give and advantage with regard to distance/range spells and skills.
Yeah, it’s really annoying to me playing on my Ranger when I’m up on a tower trying to defend, and my range is still what it would be on the ground. Just doesn’t feel right.
My question regarding the upcoming camera changes is this (because it is really the only thing that bugs me about the current camera system).
Will it reduce or eliminate camera bouncing in tight places? It’s incredibly hard to do anything when your view is bouncing and shaking all over the place.
I believe I read one of the features will be a slider to adjust how much stuff needs to be between the camera and your character before the camera snaps in front of the obstruction. At least, that’s how I interpreted it, and I really hope that is the case.
Why do you “force” yourself not to? I never wanted to do WvW until I started leveling my Ranger in EotM, and now I’m doing WvW completion on my Guardian, and both of those are really easy ways to get the WvW dailies.
You just have to try new stuff sometimes.
Huh, I’ve never seen this.
But I guess Mark Twain said it best…
“There is no such thing as a new idea. It is impossible. We simply take a lot of old ideas and put them into a sort of mental kaleidoscope. We give them a turn and they make new and curious combinations. We keep on turning and making new combinations indefinitely; but they are the same old pieces of colored glass that have been in use through all the ages.”
Not really, I doubt that neanderthals dreamed about electricity. So at some point there are new ideas. If it comes to fictional characters this might be true though.
I’ll take “Context” for 600, Alex
My main is Guardian, and that’s pretty great IMO. Play style differs a bit with what you want to do.
PvE – You’ll mostly be using shouts to buff the party / for situational needs. As usual, DPS is king
PvP – Couple of options here, but I prefer a meditation build for high aggression and burst DPS
WvW – Depending on your involvement here, you could go bunker for heals and survivability, or be more aggressive. I’ve been using a medi build, and it’s been fun so far.
Most of the professions have several options as far as play style goes, so it’s hard to classify based solely on that, but hopefully this was slightly helpful anyway.
It’s not a system issue on my end. The ONLY time it’s crashed has been 2/3 times I’ve done Teq.
Lol, sure.
50 bucks says it’s a problem with one of your drivers.
(edited by Andred.1087)
This has already been discussed and established in multiple places:
The problem is that condition stacks use inefficient netcode and so they are hard limited at 25 to prevent performance issues / lag
It has nothing to do with PvP balancing.
Will I be able to purchase HoT for Diamonds?
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Andred.1087
I’m gonna go ahead and say no, since that would allow people to buy it with gold, and since it would probably cost a lot of gems, there would be an incredible imbalance in the gold<=>gems system with all the people using gold to get the expansion.
I’m sure they’ll find some way to justify it. You might not like it, but, tough kitten, it’s just a frickin’ game.
Inventor actually sounds good.
Why do people keep on saying you give something to earn something back from specialization? Wasn’t it stated on PAX reveal that specializations will upgrade only our classes, and then every next specialization will be the said choice between, but first one will be only upgrade and done.
No, because if it was pure upgrade, then the specialization would be objectively better than the base class, which would replace it, whereas if choosing the specialization causes you to lose access to something available in the base profession, they are on more even ground.
As long as zerker is the highest DPS option, it will be top choice for PvE. And since the entire idea of ‘berserker’ is a glass cannon, I don’t think it will ever not have the highest damage output in general.
inb4 Wanze schools you on economics
You can be high damage dealer with any class. The differences between the classes is how they play, not what roles they are capable of filling.
I’m impressed to see so many on the TP. I have never seen one drop ever. At this point, I’m fairly certain I’ll see a precursor drop before a giants eye lol
I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen one, and I got a pre drop a few months ago, so this isn’t entirely implausible. Granted, I’ve never actively tried to get Giant Eyes.
God why doesn’t Anet ever listen to their customers
/s
Not one time did i mention i am entitled to anything for free, i already stated if im paying X amount of money for an expansion i should be recieving X amount of content.
Demand everything your way, assume you speak for everybody, and assign arbitrary value to everything in whatever way best suits your ludicrous rhetoric! Just remember kiddos, as long as you don’t use the word “entitled,” nobody can accuse you of being it, no matter how entitled you are actually being!
Glad to hear you are finally fixing Defiance, hoping you’ll address condition caps next.
Is the Defiance fix going to be applied to old bosses and creatures or just to new content?
From what I’ve read about condition caps, it’s going to be very difficult for them to fix that anytime soon, so don’t get your hopes up.
As for whether or not the defiance change affects old content, I can’t imagine why you have to ask this question. Why on Earth would they change something like that only for the new content?
“Shortcuts?” Are you aware that some of us who play this game have jobs? Not everybody has unlimited time to dump into the game. Cash shops have always been a good means of evening out the playing field for people who don’t have much time but do have money to spare, a.k.a. “working adults.”
