I have had the 3 final gifts for my bifrost in bank for severall weeks now. Still no precursor from the forge, I’ll keep trying for a coupe of weeks. If I still can’t manage to finish the bifrost by then I’ll just forget about it and go on to another game. There is not one single element of fun in this process.

Had the 3 gifts for bifrost for about 3 weeks, then found myself on 215g and bought 1 straight from the TP. Legend was 155g-225g for about 2+ weeks. It’s way higher now ofc.
I’m guessing you could have had that cash if you didn’t gamble (it’s what I hear constantly, ‘400g in the forge no spark !!’ :S’
If not then fair enough… but like I said I hear that 349535g into forge crap constantly when they could have bought 3 precursors from TP with the gold they gambled…

GW2 system is brilliant.
Too few skills ? not really, I have about ~25 skills I can use as a necro during a fight. Could be more to choose from/more weapons but its ok.
Holy trinity was boring. I usually was a dps on other games, guess what ? groups never needed dps only ‘LFM TANK/CLERIC’, what did I do as a DPS ? spam all my damaging skills and damage buffs while mostly standing in 1 spot. Horrible and dull.

On this game I basically do everything. I can ‘tank’ as a cloth armor (meaning i tank hits like a boss not hold aggro), constantly dodging and reviving allies while dps’ing. Also supporting everyone with my utilities, blinding enemies and turning conditions into boons, obviously I have more skills to choose from but this is how I prefer and i change my skills depending whats needed. In what other game can you do that ?
Just finished a fotm level 37 run with a complete PUG. The whole team had 0 deaths after we finished and we did the 3 hardest fractals. Everyone supported each other constantly, guardians flopping shields and heals, mesmers with time warp/reflect bubble thingy, necro blinding and curing condis etc while all dps’ing. (can really see the difference going from 30+ to do 20 daily, players really know there class way better and start using their skills properly at higher levels.)

If one could pick a ‘healer’ role, then everyone would be asking for healers for dungeons, people making others pick certain roles or/kick. They just would, guaranteed. Some groups already dont invite/kick players for being glasscannons with stupid gear for high fotm, can’t blame them tbh.

Would just ruin the great and balanced system they have right now. They should just add more weapons and utility skills.

Takes max one week to get to 80 and it’s even possible to do it 1-3 days, lol.

We’re not all working adults with families. I work full time but still get more time to enjoy this game and leveling is VERY fast, not too fast tho, it’s perfect. Also leveling is one of the best parts of the game – exploration, massive world, events etc all with the amazing graphics just make it great.

Grind for gear ? I’ve had 4 different exotics sets + weapons/jewelry since 1 month after release. Ascended gear is a blessing for me and quite easy to get. Like I said, not everyone has 2 hours per week to enjoy this game…Never in other games I have been ‘maxed out’ gear wise so fast and I do not worry about gear at all, only about skins etc. I like it this way. Usually in other games there’s always some guy with extra 348 +12 stats on his gear that takes 2 years to get, not here tho.

GW2 is a better version of GW1 and things will only get better.

Hi, today I saw one in my group who had a legendary and the dmg was just the same and stats as my Mystic Claymore, so why should I craft a legenday? For the looks? Achievements? Ascended gear made the game better, especially for me who can enjoy the game more than 2 hours a week (yes we exist). I get my desired skins/sets world exploration/story etc done quite quickly compared to others, so I was looking for more things to do. Only a positive that ascended gear exists now and an amazing new dungeon. New stuff to aim for. (I couldn’t care less of the new items have better stats or cool skins, new stuff is new stuff )
What’s the negative side ??? You like the new dungeon ? Good, u’ll get ascended gear while running it. Don’t like it ? don’t do it then…? Problem ? No need for the gear other than FoTM AT ALL. Not even ONCE have I seen anyone recruiting people for dungeons saying ‘LF2M only ascended gear no nubz!!’ Maybe that time will come when Anet adds rest of the ascended gear, but I seriously doubt I’ll see it even then.

I’d bet about 20% of this moaning community has no idea what they’re talking about, they havent even experienced the new dungeon/gear. They just read the patch notes and read a few topics about kids moaning about ‘gear treadmill’ and jump on the bandwagon.
Gear treadmill still doesn’t exist on this game atm imo. Go play games like Aion, making a new character there would be pointless now since it would take me about 2 years+ to get max stat gear like some of the players have there, I’d feel useless there without good gear. In GW2 it’s completely different wheter you can see it or not, you can max your level in days, exotic gear also in days and you’re arlready competitive. You’ll basically have same stats as someone who has played since launch. The ONLY thing you cant do is fractals difficulty level 10+ (incredible easy to get agony resist).

WAY OUT OF PROPORTION PEOPLE. I seriously hope Anet really thinks this through when/if they read these whining and clueless topics. Tho I do really think they should never add more gear tiers, also keep the ascended armor/weapons as easy to get as ascended rings and exotics already are.

Farmed 150-200g myself (1m karma). That was when prices were low (rares/ectos 15-20s etc). Plinx has been nerfed apparently now tho. But still, if you barely made 10g then you are seriously doing something wrong, it’s literally not POSSIBLE. You make about 40-60g just from the event rewards iirc. Please stop and think for a second lol.
Also I did not use karma boosters because I needed gold more than I needed karma.

That’s right. 279 gold for just the 2 parts that make a gift of fortune. That’s 5 times the price it was before in this new time after the ‘loot bug’ issue.

Then there’s 2 stacks of ectos (that’s ~140g) + stack of mystic coins (another 10g+)

Got my ecto stack at 13s each, and t6 mats when bloods were 5s, dust 90c etc.
Wasn’t even that long ago lol.

Got literally the last cheap ‘The Legend’ to finish my Bifrost 4 days ago, it was 215g (had to ask a random guy I was in FOTM for 1g even after I sold all my ores/wood/mysic coins xD). About 4 hours after I had got it the price was 240g, checked it earlier today and it was 290g. I am seriously glad that I had just enough that day, if not I’d be grinding gold for another week or two, either that or rage quit. I feel your pain tho.

Mainly for WvWvW and chest/champion mob drops, atm it’s literally a waste of time doing chest events and dragons, also WvWvW – It’s fun I get it and I agree, but why not making it fun AND REWARDING ? Thats what I mean by ‘rewards’ :p

Got mine 100% legit about 4 days ago. Not once did I get lucky, I have never got anything worth more than 3.5g, even from the forge. Took me about 2 1/2 months and I don’t even play much lol. If you really want it then you better work for it, I’ve seen so many people in LA saying the same kitten you did (to the OP), moaning about the price and chatting, instead of farming/running dungeons doing whatever to actually earn the gold needed.
I did get a stack of ectos and 60% of my t6 mats when they were 5x cheaper than they are atm, but hey, tough luck. Overall I spent about 500g tho, which is still a lot.

Nothing about my legendary was lucky tbh, didn’t play with the TP either. I just played the game. Made it feel so much better when I crafted it.

This is the most stupid topic I’ve read. For all I care it could be a magical unicorn flying from city to city giving toys. Why does it matter, AT ALL ?

When I found out it was 120g, I was ok with it, completely reasonable price tbh.
They should change them to exotic and have like 3 sets with different stats, like the dungeon sets. Price is good tho, nothing wrong with it.

Played GW1 (PvE and PvP both), Warhammer (only RvR), Aion (90% PvP), SWTOR (PvP), RIFT (PvP). Then also a bunch of FPS games and LoL.

I think GW2 is the best game I’ve ever played, it’s lacking somethings, like better, actual rewards from dragons, champions and event chests in general. They ‘patched’ it, but sorry, that was complete bs Anet, admit it.
Then lack of rewards in WvW, which Anet recently mentioned and they said they’re planning to add some kind of rewards, which is brilliant, because I really love PvP.
Other than that only minor issues like legendary weapons are not really created ‘equal’, the precursor problem, which is being adressed, etc. I think all of these things will be fixed and in future patches and expansions more races/content and rest of the ascended gear (hopefully no more tiers tho) will be added. This game is perfect for me.

This new dungeon is the best thing i’ve experienced on any mmorpg.

Never got anything more then 3.5g worth, not from chests, not even from forge gambling.
I only need The Legend, worked hard for it and should have it by christmas unless the prices go up by 100g again, then i’ll most probably rage quit.

The current ascended items are incredibly easy to get. Just yesterday a ring dropped and then bought an infusion for 75 tokens. What a grind guys, what a grind !
Now only in time I’ll get my 2nd ring and with either ~25g or 1800 fractal tokens I will get my backpiece as well. A long-term FOTM aim for me. Only a positive. I couldn’t care less if the items have different skins or better stats or just exotics with infusion slots, I want them either way. More stuff to do, more progress.
I am at Fractal difficulty 13 atm, and there are people on 33+ and most are looking for ‘full’ agony resist members for their party etc. Guess what, I don’t care. I’ll play my own game and play fractals how I want, the gear will come to me.

It has happened. There is ascended gear in the game. I don’t get how Anet could even think of removing it/changing stats to exotic stats, imo that’s not going to happen, Anet can’t just change the items people worked hard to get etc.
Only thing Anet could do is NOT add any more gear tier, which even I think would be a really bad idea. Keep the ascended gear as it is, cool skins, fairly easy to acquire etc, then they’re ok.

The ‘daily’ chest, bottom right of your screen gives you a ring if you’re lucky.

I agree with the OP about everything.
Great game got even better since last update. For me ascended gear = more stuff to aim for, and more progression on my main char, I don’t care if its progress stat wise or cooler skins. If they give me a chance to get better stats, I’ll gladly take it and not moan like a 12 year old on the forums.

My complaints – Jade boss gets a bit boring, need a few new bonus bosses.
Every fractal is very good, besides one little event in one specific fractal.
The dredge one, where you need to bomb the door with unlimited spawns of dredge. It’s the most supid thing I’ve come across in fractals.
Everything else is good, besides the DC/crash problem which should have been fixed 5 minutes after the dungeon was added.

Really dont get it, this is 100% most important thing when it comes to dungeons, fotm.
I cannot play/finish it if people DC. FIX IT.
SO many hours wasted…

Also I’ve noticed that I DC when I either Load a map or take a Screenshot. Those are the only times, but doesn’t happen often, just when I’m at the end of a dungeon, last fractal or before the event chest appears. Crucial times basically. That’s my luck and I’m used to it lol, and Anet wants me to gamble for a precursor, haha.

Some people have more than 2 hours a week to enjoy this game so they get things done and get bored with stuff alot faster…, I am only on fractal lvl 11 while people are on difficulty 23 with 2 rings and backpiece ascended. I got no ascended items so far. I am not bothered one bit. So far it hasn’t stopped me and soon enough I will get my items, they are fairly easy to get as well. Tbh I’d have them but I prioritize my legendary hunt over ascended atm. I just keep playing my own game and not worry about others.

Get over it and move on, this is how it is and they’re never going to change the ascended items stats or whatever lol. They can only NOT bring out any more gear tiers, which I hope they really don’t, it would get really silly. New zones/skills/events/races is what I hope for.

For example The Legend, was 150-200g for about 4 days, which was good I guess, felt like it wasn’t that far away, but hey if people buy 4 more of those from TP it’ll be back up to 300g. Way to see my progress, wooooo! Guaranteed, if no other changes/events come, by the time I reach 300g, it’ll be 350-450 as it used to.

They shouldn’t be truly legendary. Rares arent really rare either. It’s a name.
They should change the way to acquire one, but not really change the amount of time to get one for a casual player.

Over 600 hours played, never had anything drop worth more than 3.5g. Done decent amount of MF gambling as well.

They did not receive anything “exclusive” to my knowledge that you did not receive yourselves.

They received hundreds of gold or 25% progression towards their legendary for no effort at all.

This how I see it. EVERYONE who participated in the event should get the same rewards. Not some 100g, some 300g, some 2g. We all had a role in finishing the event and no one deserved better rewards than others. I get the idea of gambling, some take chances and get rewarded (kittenystem for precursors anyway, but still), BUT when it comes to an EVENT it should be either ALL get precursors or NO ONE.
I do not care if the prices go down for a few days, that’s not the point.

I really don’t get why it was necessary for Anet to mess with their players again with more RNG. Tbh I would not be complaining if no one had got a precursor. Just the 20 slot bag, earring, 2 exos and 2 rares was decent imo. Tbh I wasn’t expecting a reward at all, so just those would have been enough, but seeing as random people who joined the event for 10 minutes can get rewarded 100 times better and walk away with Dusks Dawns and Legends, then there’s me with a lvl 76 exotic speargun, it’s just plain sad Anet.

Basically everyone should get same rewards, I would have preferred no precursors at all. Me getting 1.7g from the chest and some others with 100-300g, just reminds me of RNG and my luck which is just frustrating, enough for some people to /quit.

Most will be back to normal price in 12 hours or less lol.
It’s a one time event and only once will prices plummet, smart people will save their precursors for a week or so when the prices are back to normal and also when the DC’d players get their rewards, prices may plummet again, but not as much tbh and still only for a day or two.

Yep, we all attended the whole event, most of us at least. Why do some players get rewarded SIGNIFICANTLY better ? Not to mention new level 80 players or even trial players who have no idea what legendaries are or people who came in to hit the boss 6 times and get full loot same as the people who were there for the whole 3+ hours.
(I found an overflow where the karka hadn’t been defeated, it was at the stage right before the floor was about collapse, I was there for 1 minute and got the chest, couldnt open it tho, but still, that means anyone could come for 30 seconds and get same reward as everyone else.

250 skill points, some people who want it don’t have that much and it can take AGES to get them, unless you craft or something.

The thing is I could easily craft one for the purpose of making a profit, since it takes about 60-70g to make (+skill points), but is it worth it ? is anyone even interested in it ?

Didn’t take screens because I’ve crashed so many times while attempting to take one lol, especially in packed and low fps situation, also I didn’t risk to lose the chest.

Apparently people who have played this game for 5 hours get precursors, rather then me who’s been with GW2 since beta, every single weekend, then after that nearly every single day. I have a lot of hours and so much effort…nothing…
I’d rather see NO ONE getting the precursor, rather then some. We all (mostly) did the whole event and worked hard, stayed up for 3hours+ etc. Why do some get it and some not lol, so frustrating.

This is what I mean. RNG rewards people. Some people did the whole 3 hours of effort. Some joined halfway or even later, do some hits on the karka, loot a Dusk and run off. Tbh it should have added contribution depending on dmg/heals/time attended at event etc whatever, then reward people accordingly…NAH.
RNG RNG RNG – random people who came for 15 minutes and are level 10, with 5 hours played, (can they loot 80 stuff from chests afetr being boosted to 80?) loot a 200g weapon and run off, having no idea what it actually is.
