How do I win ranked games when:
Whole team goes through portal to defend close vs 2 enemies leaving me alone vs 3, enemy snowballs and wins.
Elementalist thinks his main role is DPS and leaves teamfights to 1v1 and decap.
Enemy has 2 points and my team insists on fighting offpoint.
Every single equal fight my team loses within seconds.
Losing 370-460 on foefire, enemy has 2 caps, we have 1. Their door is open. Literally the only chance at winning is going lord. I call lord and few teammates start arguing that if we go for lord we will lose our only node. ….
Most losses are complete steamrolls with no more than 100 points on our team, some even 500-0.
This is diamond tier 6-7 and even early legend.
Someone make a guide how to win those games and I’d never lose.

Did they seriously removed unblockable fact from cyclone and waterglobe on ele warhorn?
They just fixed the ‘typos’. Nothing about the skills was nerfed or changed.
I’m in combat. All the time. There is no mobs near me, I haven’t taken damage or dealt any damage to anyone or anything for 20+ minutes, still in combat unable to get full movement speed to complete an incredibly annoying and stupid jumping puzzle for precursor. (someone decided to put a load of bandits in a jumping puzzle.)
In PvP, I’m 5000 range away from anyone, still in combat unable to regenerate my health.
I fought a guy in PvP and finished him, 10 seconds later still in combat, next guy comes in and finds an easy target with barely any HP cuz apparently a dead guy kept me in combat. When im not in combat im in combat. When I’m in combat I’m in combat.
Always in combat when I’m not fighting anything… therefore I shouldn’t be in combat …or ?? I’m confused. kittening kittened.

No kitten it’s a legendary, got plenty of them and I know what goes into building one. No kitten it’s grindy and expensive.
You’ve missed the whole point – AG going up in price at ridiculous pace…40s+ since yesterday when I commented on this topic. They’ll be 1000g+ soon enough for a stack. That’s what I’m expecting (hoping not to) spend on them while finishing off my precursor. That’s stupid. If this doesn’t get attention they’ll be absurdly priced in a few months, people wont even bother making a HoT legendary.
All the big boys who are talking kitten about spending a lot of gold for a legendary, gratz man, I’ve spent kittenloads for my legendaries and willing to spend more, obviously, but read the topic and see what the actual problem is. ****.
My problem is that the day I decided to make a new legendary I checked the approximate cost – stack of amalgamated gemstones cost just under 500g if you make them yourself, now they’re 700g++ ? By the time I’m done with precursor and all the pve who knows what the price will be. And no way to farm them. I have hundreds of all sorts of other mats from all the PvE, but only had enough orbs/crests for 10 gemstones after 4-5 months when I came back to GW2.
Whats up with these ? Who thought adding orbs, doubloons and crests into the legendary crafting was a good idea ? 2250 of them as well iirc. They’re gonna run out on TP soon lol.

Things that people claimed weren’t casual friendly pre-HoT:
Fractals (3 mini dungeons plus a boss?! I don’t have time for that I play 20min a day, I’m casual!)
Dungeons (I can’t get into a group because I don’t have zerk gear and I don’t speedrun! I’m casual!)
World completion (why do we have to do WvW for world completion, I’m casual, I don’t like PvP!)
Story-mode finale (I need a group to finish the story?! what the heck Anet! I’m too casual for that!)
Living Story S1 (these LS events are timed?! You’re saying I can’t do all of the achievements within the 2 weeks if I only play 10min a day?! I’m casual, wtf ANET!
Living Story S2 (wtf Anet, I didn’t log in when these were released because I’m super casual, and now you want me to grind gold so I can trade for gems? I’m casual! I don’t have the time nor money to do this!)

I think a lot of people think that casual friendly means everything needs to be able to be completed quickly or easily. A casual player does not imply a bad player, it implies someone that plays at their own, typically slow, pace. Being able to do things at your own pace: that’s the definition of being casual friendly.
In GW2 you can do literally everything at your own pace (minus holiday events, as those are time limited). That is casual friendly. Raids is the only area that I would say has the biggest obstacle to casual players, and that’s getting a 10man group together.
I’d love to hear what exactly in GW2 you couldn’t do at your own, casual, pace.
If something takes a long time, it doesn’t mean it isn’t casual friendly, it just means it will take longer to complete, but it can still be 100% casual.
People claimed crafting legendaries wasn’t casual, but I can assure you I crafted two from scratch, casually, over the course of 2 years. Some days I felt like working towards a requirement, some days I didn’t. I dictated the pace I completed things. THAT IS CASUAL.

The amount of kitten I get from absolutely clueless players is staggering…
I got some master crafter ele who has clearly just slayed jormag and jumped into PvP thinking he’s a boss giving me the most stupid advice on how to kill warriors with thief and all that. He says a bunch of jibberish about reflecting his killshot so he’d kill himself and all that, calls me an idiot player who is scared of a kitten class and then blocks me. Of course I’m an immature kittenhead and I log onto my other account and tell him what needed to be told.
Then you got necros who spam all their marks ontop of themselves as soon as they see you (happens way too much) not realising they can all be dodged, then when they’re eating the floor asking for res they whisper you some bullkitten about how bad I am and one of them even called himself a well known pro necro. Amazing.
I load into the match, 1st thing I see is some random saying ‘2thiefs switch pls’, I respond with ‘no’. We continue to play the rest of the game 4v5 since he afk’d because me or the other thief didn’t swap class, in unranked…
Losing ~300 to ~400… 2 enemy players chasing me, a thief, for about 2 minutes because they are salty about getting focused in previous fights. I run around decapping points and attacking them every now and then to keep them interested. Of course they never catch me. We win the game because of that.
I mean unranked is a kittenfest but you also get some good laughs which you don’t get in ranked, at least not in legend and definitely not as often…
Diamond was a mess, joining a ranked pvp game was like flipping a coin, if your team was 4 points of kitten and enemy was only 3 points of kitten then it meant you’ll most likely lose.
Legend however my winrate went up to about 75%-80% with solo queue. People just simply know their class well and know how to play conquest, there are exceptions tho obviously.

I’ve got 7 legendaries yet meteorlogicus is my favourite. It’s got a lot of detail and just in general a lot going on when you look at it. Also a big bonus for me is that i almost never see anyone else with it. Unlike my twilight and bifrost which everyone and their mum have.

I mean is it hard for the game to detect that only 9 players were ONLINE and took part during the ranked pvp match ? Or does the game do that but still make people lose pips despite it being stupid.

How does one progress in pvp ?
I lose and gain a pip
I lose and lose 2 pips
I win and lose a pip (This one hurts when at 4 pips)

I win and gain 0 pips
Feels like RNG to me.
Floor is lava is doable, just try harder, youtube a good route..
Field test and fallen masks I haven’t even attempted gold.
Shooting gallery on the other hand.. holy kitten I’ts hard for me to put into words how awful this adventure is. The action camera is so bad…lol just horrible. Why ? Can I turn it off while I do that ? Targets spawn behind trees. You can clearly put your cursor on it perfectly and shoot and the bullet flies for about 34 hours and still misses. When you click to fire it actually has a cast time or whatever you wanna call it. Why ? Who thought that was a good idea. Why does the fire have a delay ? It’s beyond kittened.
I know it’s a really small detail regarding the whole content of HoT, but these little things just really get me annoyed, especially if the design is not only lazy but simply idiotic.
I mean did the adventure designer guy have a meeting to introduce shooting gallery and said lets make targets spawn behind trees, have the bullet not hit the target when you actually aim for it and the fire has a CAST TIME/DELAY. Yeah OK TIMMY sounds GOOD. Oh and lets add the ‘ACTION CAMERA’ to make things more ‘interesting’.
Why does such a camera angle even exist ? Too much time on your hands ?
Yeah I’m mad cuz I tried to do this adventure like 5 times and failed and can’t even do it again because it’s nightfall. Who thought that was a good idea, I’m unable to play my kittening mini game because it’s dark ?
Some adventures are WAY too easy tho, pretty much every other besides the 4-5 that I mentioned above…
for people with that much gold there are only two ways of getting it:
flipping the trading post or buying it from goldsellers.
neither option appeals to me.
I got 5 legendaries, multiple 100-300g forged weapons and tier 3 sets and I’m a wvw/pvp player only with some Living story achievement point hunting on the side.
I’ve obviously done some farming but not much at all, usually when new content comes out and it’s really profitable etc.
Just play the game… ;-]

+-10% condi duration is way too little, compared to e.g. +10% crit dmg lol, please think a little.
Minimum 20% for condis, maybe 25% or smth like that.
I’m not sure what this list is for, roaming or actual wvw/zerg/guild fights ?
Guardians no.1 imo, then eles warriors and necros all kinda equally useful and good for large scale. Then Mesmers and thieves.
Rangers contribute to zerg fights ? What the actual kitten ? That class is as useless as it can get, swap it for pretty much any other class and you’ll be better off in large-scale fights.

Better than nothing, I don’t play wvw for rewards and knowing Anet/GW2 I never expected anything good anyway… 20-40 gold per guild raid is a great bonus beside the enjoyement of fighting against great guilds and busting blobs.
If you finished the season 1 achievements in hopes of getting a massive reward and played wvw just for that reason, then … well, kitten off ;-]
Need EB lowlands keep, jerrifers tower and sunnyhill for frostfang, 3rd matchup in a row against vizunah. Gonna be great…

Well, (pun intended) I normally run 0/20/0/20/30. Trait selections for me:
Curses is Chilling Darkness and Focused Rituals. Banshee’s Wail is a very close second to running both of these traits – I just can’t quite let go of those two at this stage.
Blood is Vampiric Precision and Ritual Mastery. I only go into here for the CD reduction of wells, because bombing is the name of the game – a quicker turn around on this means more sustained pressure when you’re fighting a quality opponent. Vampiric Precision is far from fantastic, but in terms of what else is on offer, it’s one of the better options. Running crit chance into the high 40’s % range means you get something back from it, such as it is.
Soul Reaping is Path of Midnight, Near to Death and Foot in the Grave. Path is great for extra AoE dps from Life Transfer, but the sleeper here is Tainted Shackles. That paltry 1 second immobilise can be enough to peel people out of the enemy train, and make them vulnerable to yours. Worthwhile reducing the CD on those abilities in my opinion. Near to Death and Foot in the Grave just work too well together to be ignored.
That is what’s working for me at the moment. If you asked me what I could live without, perhaps the 20 in Blood, but there would need to be a compelling alternative.
I run exactly the same build, vampiric presicion I find useless tho so I instead I use transfusion, that 2-3k heal on party members > a few hp steal imo. Also good with path of midnight.
Need world completion for legendary #5, Frostfang, wvw completion is gonna be a kitten.

Boring and time-consuming. Two weeks is way too often as well, it’s annoying and most updates are full PvE, so it disrupts people who play wvw/pvp.
The living story updates hold no challenge at all and nevermind being rewarding or fun, I went and did the nightmare within achievements in 2 hours by running solo around pressing 1-5 skills (literally I just stood there smashing buttons while healing signet kept me alive, sign of good content) from the events, chambers and toxic hybrid boss. It wasn’t challenging or rewarding and therefore not fun. Pointless waste of time and resources.
There have been a few LS updates that were decent, but omg, the latest ones feel like they are putting random crap together just to get it released by the deadline.
I only do LS when I have time in the weekends for achievements and sometimes for skins.
Need more quality permanent content, and more people working on PvP/WvW, that’s what this games about. No more carebear stuff !
I agree, with DS and active play the 30/10/0/0/30 build is definitely insane power and enough surivivability with any experienced necro. I used to run that build until I transferred to T1. The build no longer works because of 1 thing – skill lock. The lag gets so horrible, you will not be able to play around with your active skills anymore. Ascii’s build works really well in T1 where the blobs are so massive, you need every bit of passive survivability (blood line) since most times you cant cast anything for 10 seconds or more. Looking at you, SoR blob!
I still actively use that build in T1 ^^ The numbers are just too good, rather than building tanky which I find pointless as I let the melee train soak up the damage while I nuke with ridiculous numbers, wasted potential building defensive imo.
You know you’re doing your part when well of suffering can tick for 4k crits, putrid mark 5k etc, part of the blob is downed before the melee train gets to hit them. lol. While still having really awesome survivability.
It only gets laggy in a 3-way blob battle which doesn’t happen often here really.
Mjolnir or other expensive exotics do not require map completion, badges, dungeon tokens etc. You’re argument is incredibly dumb.
Legendaries should be ‘special’, stat-swapping is good enough, wouldn’t say no to sigil-swapping.
(char-bound, like pvp ranks).
PvP ranks are account bound just fyi, so WvW being char bound is doubly stupid.
that was a typo, and that was my point, pvp ranks acc-bound yet wvw ranks char-bound make no sense.
Don’t go PTV gear, it’s pointless and not needed if you use skills properly and know how to position, go zerker/cavalier. I run 90% crit dmg, 41% crit chance without fury, 2.8k power with stacks, 1.6k toughness and 22k hp.
BIG numbers while being very tanky.
Ranks are a very good idea, but 10k ranks (?) … while character bound ?
Either have 10k ranks and make it acc-wide… or have like e.g. 500 ranks and make the ranking progress harder and more time consuming (acc-bound, like pvp ranks).
What we currently have is incredibly dumb imo.

WvW and PvP keep me going.
Finished Howler this Friday and Meteorlogicus a week before that.
Making my fifth would require me to do 100% map completion again which I’m not sure about :p
Ascended items have such a little effect in wvw lol, if you lose a 1v1 or whatever it’s because you messed up or you’re just bad. The chances that the few extra stats could have made a difference is really kittening low lol, be realistic here, also they’re pretty easy to get anyway, trinkets especially.
Clovers are the easiest part, took me 30+ tries with my legendaries using 10x recipe, I spend around 90g on ectos but get back 100-120g worth of t6 mats which I’m gonna use anyway. I’ve also used 1x recipe on my 1st, got 77 in 237 tries, but made nowhere near as much gold as I do with 10×.
I’d love to meet someone who’s stupid enough to alt+f4 a stomp to avoid giving the other server 1-3 points. Really ?
If necros are so OP, why do i see about 5 enemy necros at most a week? OP for zergs, only because of the 10+ guardians buffing and keeping them up no?
Necros do amazing damage (unless for some reason you build tanky on a necro) while still being incredibly tanky.
Nothing to do with the guards lol, necro can handle itself very well with the right build, those scrubby melee are there to soak up the damage while necros do the damage. :p
They are really, really strong in zergs lol, and roaming.
Yes as they are really easy to get, just time consuming, and if I were patient enough I would have 4 legendaries instead of 2.
Time to time I get bored and spend it on gearing another class, crafting weapons such as volcanus, eye of rodgort, anomaly, stygian blade etc etc out of pure boredom, I am happy with the skins, but later on I think, kitten I set myself ~200 gold back on my legendary, again…
And my time spent in PvE is minimal, I just do the dailies/monthlies and living story achievements, most of the gold comes from WvW. (Id also like to point out that the post above is stupid.)
GW2 where the focus would be real endgame pvp/wvw/gvg etc, not the carebear living story stuff.
you do realize that the devs introduce WvW xp jugs which are absolutely accountbound and give great amounts of WXP? They are obviously aware that the current system is alt-unfriendly and fix it.
Furthermore, there aren’t a lot of games out there which have accountbound achievements, e.g. the daily achievements which count for any character.
Making random jugs account bound wont fix the problem, they need to be account bound lol. I havent heard a single good reason why they are character bound…
My warrior has for example 100 ranks, and my main is necro who is lets say rank 400 and I play with him, those 100 ranks are completely wasted.
When I play my warrior he will not have the wvw abilities that are on my necro, my necro has more stuff available so Ill most likely stick to that one character. No jugs will fix that.
Same with fotm ranks and legendary/ascended items.
Its not worth the effort, simple as that, I killed it 3 times for the achievements when it first came out, took alot of organizing and time yet I got nothing lol … also 10 pm is prime time for wvw, especially on piken lol.
They think they do enough for wvw by adding ranks/wvw abilities.
Bloodlust stat boost is something no one asked for and the ruins, well… at least the kraits in the middle island gave me wxp. The ruins are deserted 24/7 in the matchups that I’ve played in, therefore useless and a massive waste of time by Anet.
So after more then a year, there’s been nothing for wvw while PvE gets something every 2 weeks.
They get the big moneys from the roleplayers and the pve carebears.
Yay whole day without wvw, pretty incompetent tbh.
Nothing new that’s worth mentioning in a year for wvw and now even a PvE scrub update somehow manages to bug wvw.

If I’d buy a ‘Wind Catcher Skin’ from the weapon specialist, would I be able to sell it on the TP ?
They are already on there, but so is ‘Zephyrite Rucksack Skin’ and I have that, but I can’t put it on the TP … ?
