that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”

At least publicly, Colin wasn’t fired. There was an statement from himself explaining that. If you don’t want to believe what he said, well, that’s another problem.
While some points can be arguable, I think most of your post is brightly accurate. Nice work shaping a good and strong opinion!

Just play HoT and ask in the map for HP trains. You’ll have your full elite spec in a day.
Old CoF speed run was 2 gold and some change for like 4 minutes of play. I don’t see how this is different.
Rifle is istill the least optimal weapon right now (No, shield doesn’t even counts).
Nades are still mandatory for any build that doesn’t use hammer.
IMO, the changes didn’t do anything remarkable. Just meh.
+1
Sadly true.
:_(
Lets hope it was properly balanced and not simply “nerfed”.
Incredibly nice! Thanks Anet!
Should be movable too.
Wildkitten, do you notice YOUR comments have spread way more negativity in the thread than anyone of the “complainers”? Just a thought.

It is relevant because right now the poll assume there are no circumstances at all.
How could I know if I’m going to pay for something I don’t have a clue about?
Please note that having info about something doesn’t require to have it released and tested.Right now the only rational response to that poll is NO. Because waiting for the expansion to release is the same as not preordering, and choosing “yes” implies you are buying a black box. That doesn’t represent reality at all, making the poll useless.
The rational, and accurate, response if none of the options describes your circumstances would be to not take the poll, and to, perhaps, create one of your own.
You might, for example, phrase yours as:
“Which of the following phrases best describes your likelihood of preordering the next expansion:
A: Definitely.
B: Absolutely not.
C: Depends on announced features.
Yes, you are right.
I suppose I just didn’t want to recognize OP poll was so badly designed.
Endless Soul has a BIG point there.
Old LA was already New LA, re-funded by Cobiah Marriner after being destructed by the rise of Orr.
Actual LA should be called New New LA!
They don’t stack because Anet wants you to buy the gemstore items.
Mystic Kits are cheaper and have the same salvaging properties as Master kits, so they are really convenient.
On the Tekken Zaibatsu Forums this problem was very extended, with lots of character specific, situation specific and game specific abreviations, plus all the notations for the moves themselves, multiplied by the various platforms the game ran on.
The solution was simple, however: they added an exhaustive “Legend” section to the principal menu, and direced all the new people there.
<off-topic>Lol and people got all kitten about the devs canceling the next set of legendaries…
The targeted audience for this thread is 99% people who don’t care about legendaries/devs cancelling legendaries. It’s an echo chamber in that regard, and a silly point to be trying to make.
While you probably are right in general, I have to say that there are people (Me amongst them) who don’t really care or like the legendaries, but do care about Anet not fulfilling their promises.
The “legendary debacle” you see out here is not about weapon stats, fancy skins, entitled minorities, game economy or appealing the masses. It is about trust breaking.
</off-topic>Since most weapons work better for one specific combat strategy, (For Engie: Rifle=Power, Pistol=Condi) I doubt the stat change property is really used. So there is another reason not to do a legendary weapon.
An ARMOR with stat change, on the other hand… that’s going to be really interesting.
I’m lucky to still have rave-spawning Rata Sum.
I havent played the elite spects thoroughly enough to have a funded opinion on all of them.
So, for now:
Bottom – Scrapper. OP in PvP, underwhleming in PvE. Stiff builds, boring exclusive mechanic, AI dependent, tiny fly over head. Only plus is hammer.
Top – Reaper. Simply amazing: interesting, great personality, flexible, FUN.

The new LA is ok. The Old LA was AMAZING.
Vertical maps, horizontal progression. Thats why I love this game.

Yet most examples depends on Strider, Magitech and Aetherblade pieces to work…
It was good, but I’m much more interested in LS 3, balance and bug fixing.
Do they do that often? I hardly noticed any change in the loot of the JPs, aside from the box for the Star item.

The option is still necesary, even if Anet has compromised the trust from a large group of players with some of their actions, because not all people work on that black or white standard when making shopping choices.
I know quite a few people who would pre-purchase the next expansion if what is shown seems atractive enough, no matter the unfulfilled promises of the past.
I want a holographic armor for my Asura engie.
WTF!
This is so absurd!
The only legendary I have ever liked is HOPE. But I don’t use pistols.
This is all PvP, isn’ it?
1- Zerk =/= Zerg.
2- I did the Octovine Zerg for the first time yesterday, and it was hella fun. There was more people on the Zerg than static, so the Zerg was the real force behind the event. First we smacked East until it was close to 0 life, then North, West and South, always leaving the Octovine at the brink of death. Then the group divided in four and did the coordinated killing. Simple, effective, and fun.
3- Armors should get 4 times the reward because they cant move with the Zerg to get the other areas.

Not released and not informed are different things.
The poll needs an option like “I’ll preorder if I like the promoted content”.
Every time I get into DS meta through the LFG there is a lot of people doing it. Only ONCE I have seen one of such maps fail.
I don’t know if they truly like it, if they hate it but are masochists, if they are there only for the rewards, or if they are like me (Find it really fun, but don’t like to repeat it too often).
So:
Many people “love it” → Don’t know.
Many people “hate it” → Don’t know.
Many people do it → Oh, yes.
During the first beta, Hot WAS harder too.
Now is… challenging.
I understand some people want to simply run form an event to another without having to care for the rest of the creatures in the map. Well, while it seems more convenient that way, I think is quite better to have to learn how to confront the hostile environment.
Recycling machines cost 1000 or more. Instead of getting another of those for each alt I want to readily use without bank travel, I just get 1 shared slot for 700. I save 300 for each alt.
GW2 can do trinity for raids without infringing on your ability to run whatever in the rest of the game. But not having proper trinity in raids leads to the devs having their hands tied when it comes to interesting mechanics.
When did “Tank&Spank” become an “Interesting Mechanic” ?
IMHO, in all this debate, the only one that gets a clue it is STIHL.
It is irrelevant if GW2 allows “Trinity” or not. What is relevant is GW2 allows MUCH MORE. Because Trinity basic strategy is BORING.
If it were up to me, I’ll organize encounter mechanics around a “GW2 Quintet” or something like that: Defense, Healing, Crowd Control, Damage (Direct and/or Over-time), Boost/Debuff. Even this could become boring after a few years, but at least is not already wasted and obsolete.
Bump to keep the older thread on the first page. I’ll add a new mastery later to give more value to this post.
I fully agree on the scaling. Soloing a champ should be really hard, but not directly impossible.
Hate the color on the engie’s Tshirt. Everything else seems good.
Is there any place where i can get those icons in vectorial format?
I put my camera a little bit over and a step to the side of my toon, to get an “over the shoulder” view. keeping the center clean allows me to know better what I’m doing, specially when ding jumping puzzles or in battles where you need to maintain line of sight to a mobile target.
While these are tacky too, I think they are more original, apropiate and “legendary”. After all, if you are going to name something following an incident from India, you should follow their aesthetics too…

Considering the eternal rivalry…
WoW’s movie coming out in June 2016.
When’s GW 2’s scheduled for? wink
Whenever Uwe Boll is free, I imagine.
Silence, you fool!! Never, ever, invoke that name!!
I’ll totally pay for a trilogy with the full story of Cobiah marriner and the foundation of Lion’s Arch.
First of all, there’s already a thread on this:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/Mastery-suggestions-put-them-here/first#post6078904
Second, a mastery line I would take instantly:
“Wanderer” Mastery line:
Balance Training – Your have a wider stable area while moving over narrow surfaces like edges, ropes and branches.
Long Jumper – Your jumps became slightly longer.
High Jumper – Your jumps became slightly higher.
Antiskid Shoes – You can move over steeper surfaces without skidding.
Never Seen Before – You can reach unmarked areas never seen before, where unknown creatures, awe inspiring vistas and forgotten treasures await your visit.
I like the idea. I have 1 of each proffession, and don’t see a point of ever going level 1 again. Yet I love to simply explore with my prefered toon and discover things I have not seen before.
I’m fine as long no one pretend subjective opinions are objective reasons, or that their subjective opinions weigh more than other people subjective opinions.
Fact: HoT maps are end game zones designed as “challenging content”, yet everything in them is defeatable if you pay attention, learn the patterns, play carefuly and don’t pretend to faceroll everything on your own.
Opinion: I love it.
From HoT I like the map complexity, gliding, the saurian, the chak, the npcs, the events, my new shiny fix-r-upper, and another bunch of things.
But to say just one: My Reaper. I love him.
They at least changed the bow to the correct side… but of course, that barely count as something before all the deficiences on preview windows.
The icon should be an helicopter-like propeller.
Power 810
Condition Damage 810
Concentration 810
Vitality 222
I’ll prefer they do that to THIS spec.
For the next spec, I hope something new, something NOT AI dependant.
I did some of this to get the special items from the proffesions, like the engie’s backpack and the 3 different rev’s blindfolds.
So, we agree it is not hard.
It is annoying, you say. Well, “annoying” is totally subjective, because for me, maps with mobs wich don’t require awareness or work to defeat them are way more annoying. (If I’m going to kill something just spamming 1, I prefer it doesn’t even exist).
I agree there are aspects of the HoT maps that require serious improvement (Navigation guides, to begin). And maybe some situations can trap you if your allies aren’t bright enough (Armors attacking Octovines instead of controlling mobs come to mind). But those aren’t fails on the difficulty side.
They have JPs for your target group, HoT however nearly turned the game into a giant platformer. Thats a no-no for me
They have all central tyria for your target group, HoT however nearly turned the game into a giant platformer. Thats a yes-yes for me.
