To find role players, maybe post in the Looking for Guild forum or check the Guild Recruitment forum. Or you can guest to that server and ask about role playing guilds.

“Rare drop from The Ruined City of Arah explorable mode.
Rare drop from the Eye of Zhaitan in the Zho’qafa Catacombs. "
The problem may be ANet’s definition of the word rare, as in “try 1000 times and maybe you’ll get it”.
When they put something like this in the game they need to increase the chance of getting it to something reasonable.
Does not work for me. I want a FLYING LIKE SUPERMAN DUELING cape mount! (Stomps off to start a new thread about it).
You should have gotten an automated response email within a short time. Check your spam and junk folders to see if it went in there. Read the thread Not getting our emails. If that’s not solving the problem you might want to make a brand new email that works with ANet then update your ticket and tell them to send replies to the new email.
Hmmmm. Should be just the sickle and the axe. https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/taimis-dye-kit-and-new-permanent-gathering-tools-in-the-gem-store/
It sounds like that item was a town clothes. If memory serves, when they revamped the wardrobe system all the past town clothes were converted over to tonics and there was an option to get a refund at that time. He can ask for a refund but iirc there was about a month allowed for that and it’s past.
I don’t know why they didn’t send out new costumes to those who purchased the old town clothes. Perhaps it’s because they don’t track purchases made with gold bought gems, since those don’t bring them an income. They annoyed a lot of people with this and if they sent out costumes to some but not others, then there would have been an even greater uproar so they decided to annoy people equally, rather than some more than others.
It makes total sense for Anet not to allow this and block this functionality with trial accounts. They probably thought some daring and nefarious would find a way to exploit and they try to plug any possible hole allowing so.
By why would they make it possible to withdraw items from a guild bank on a trial account and not deposit them?
Maybe so gold sellers can’t find a way to be in a guild, get gold buyers as guildies, wait till the 3 days is up for the new guildies then deposit gold or items such as Legendaries in the bank for the guildies to pick up?

I wonder what you would get if you mystic forged four green level 80 Karma items of that type.
Wait, those still drop ?
Last time we had an announcement that they were put back in the loot tables from July 29 to August 12.The Permanent Hair Stylist Contract is now a very rare drop from Black Lion Chests for the next 2 weeks only.
It was supposed to only be available for the 2 weeks from the feature patch as noted in the patch notes. Instead, they left them in the loot tables and everyone who bought one during the two week period expecting them to not be available anymore are now left with having spent way more than necessary on them since they continue to drop.
Judging from Gaile’s response in this thread, I’m guessing that Anet leaving it on the loot tables is intentional. I just hope this doesn’t become a pattern where they state a time frame for things from black lion chests just to drive up prices when in reality, its going to be left permanently so we should all just wait for prices to settle down instead of being artificially high.
It’s not just that item. The August 12th notes on the chaos weapons implied they would only be available for one ticket for 4 weeks. However that was changed to September 30th. As of now, September 29th, they are still one ticket.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/updates/Game-Update-Notes-August-12-2014
“New Chaos weapon skins are available for the next four weeks from Black Lion Weapons Specialists for the introductory price of one Black Lion Weapon Ticket. Black Lion Weapon Tickets can be found in Black Lion Chests.”
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/taimis-dye-kit-and-new-permanent-gathering-tools-in-the-gem-store/
“Also, this is your last week to take advantage of the introductory price of our Chaos weapon skins!”
Anyone who bought chaos weapon skins was affected by this.
It’s a utility skill which you purchase with skill points. The first utility skill becomes available at level 13 so you have 3 more levels to go.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Utility_skill
The three utility slots unlock left to right as players level. Slot 1 unlocks at level 13, slot 2 at 17, and slot 3 at 19.
Well. Good luck. Hopefully it was just a suspension and you are back in game soon on it.
Generally a message like that means a suspension, not a ban. The first suspension is normally 72 hours. Try waiting for that amount of time to go by first maybe.
You could contact support to ask, but if it’s a suspension by the time you get your answer it will probably be over with. If you still want to change the serial code to this other account then you will have to contact support to see if it’s possible.
Cooking is useful. Many of the ingredients are bought with karma and in spite of the NPC warning you to be sure if you want to try it, it can be the cheapest one to get to 400.
Unless you enjoy crafting or want to do it for the experience, then no, I don’t recommend it while leveling. You can buy gear cheap on the trading post while leveling and most level 80 gear can be bought for far cheaper than what it would cost you to level that crafting profession and then make the gear
The only real use imo is to craft ascended weapons and armor, which many people don’t bother with and can’t be used before level 80 anyway.
Should be pretty quick. Try deleting mail. If you have over 10 emails then you won’t get more till you delete some.
I wish we could turn personal story off in the options also. I have 8 level 80s and there is zero chance I’m going to do the full personal story on each one. I did the last part 3 times shortly after launch and that’s more than enough.
accidentally bought 2 copy's of the game

If you got charged twice do not do a charge back. This can get both of your accounts irreversibly banned. Instead, if you haven’t already done so, contact support and have them take care of you.
If it doesn’t suit your build, choose it for the skin only and put that skin on the weapon that you will really use. You can sell it for a gold to a vendor or put it aside for later.
Possibly you sold the armor and forgot, maybe because you were planning to upgrade him to better gear, but stopped halfway and never got back to it.
Nope. No anniversary event. No celebration. No fun new quests to do. If it weren’t for the presents emailed out, it would have gone completely unnoticed by the average player.
I would like to see a video of someone taking an hour to get to level 10. Because that has not been my experience. And yes, I followed the arrow.
I felt the grind at level 4-5 and then again at level 7-9 with the 2 new characters I’ve tried since the patch. Then again at level 12 after I finished the PS segment.
I’ve gotten to level 10 in an hour but I knew exactly what to do and where to go, including skipping hearts that are slower and how to go to another starter zone to get easy experience.
I’ve seen claims that someone has gotten to level 10 in 30 minutes by casual playing and while chatting with friends. I really don’t see how they do it myself and would love to see some sort of video or detail of how they did it.
I would say staff also, if I had to pick.
Ah. I’ve never seen mail without an items slot. Didn’t occur to me that was the way it was set up for trial accounts. Yah that could conceivably be a problem.
There is a thread about chaos weapons and this bug on this page. I also saw a thread a few days ago with a couple of comments on it.
If you have two accounts can’t you email it to the other account? Or if it’s a regular guild, to another guildie to put in the guild bank for you? The notes say you can send mail to an account that friends you.

I’m afraid it’s gone. Sorry. They don’t have the ability to add people to guilds.
Actually don’t do WvW. It’s worse than regular PvP, the only difference is there will be nobody to insult you verbally.
I don’t normally do WvW. How can it be worse if they don’t insult you verbally? Unless you lie there after death while they abuse your body or something. In that case, waypoint out when killed?
Not only does the internet breed bad manners through anonymity but PvP is notorious for it. If you are going to PvP then you will need a thick skin.
I also suggest you stick to PvE. If you want to do PvP try WvW. The enemies there can’t insult you unless you party up with them to hear what they are going to say.
People can report all they want but if the reported person isn’t breaking TOS, these reports go in the trash. If ANet decides the reports are malicious as well as false then they punish the reporters.
https://www.guildwars2.com/en/legal/guild-wars-2-rules-of-conduct/
“You may use the Guild Wars 2 reporting system within the Game to alert the company to in-game issues such as inappropriate behavior, offensive names, the perceived use of a “bot,” or other misconduct. You may not use the Guild Wars 2 reporting system to inflict harm upon or harass another player, to submit false reports, or to cause undue load on our servers. Individuals who abuse the reporting function will be investigated and will face possible account suspension or account termination.”
If you aren’t breaking TOS then ignore the people threatening to report you.

I bet the bats to the west and north a bit of the Queensdale portal don’t get hit that often. Everyone seems to run down the road toward the first heart. And maybe the bats in the cemetery north of the garrison.

Yes, for regular game play, any server will do. You should have no problems getting together with your friends. The game will try to put you together on the same shard if you are in the same guild or party and even if it doesn’t it’s easy to get on the same shard by using the join feature on the party portrait, as long as that shard isn’t completely full of people. In that case they can move to your shard.
Have fun in game.
A little more information would be useful.
Are you a brand new player who hasn’t chosen any server yet or an older account trying to get on that server for some reason?
Or you trying to get on that server for WvW reasons, or role play or just like the name?
So, I’m going to make some assumptions in hopes they answer some of your questions.
1) you are a new account
2) you are choosing that server for PvE and/or role playing. I assume if you are a new account you won’t know enough about WvW to have an opinion on servers.
Guild Wars 2 has Megaservers. This means that choosing one particular server is only important for WvW. For PvE, PvP, roleplaying, playing with friends or guildies, it has little impact. The game will try to put you on the same shard as your guild, party members or people from the same server but otherwise it’s a mix of all the servers. If you are put on a different map shard than a party member you can use the join map feature of the party system to join them.
As to whether or not full servers become less full. When a number of servers are full or very high then ANet, in the past, has increased capacity for them. It’s unknown when they will do this. They don’t announce ahead of time.
As to the comment about “barren wasteland”, I’m not sure what you are referring to.
Check your spam and junk folders if you haven’t already. And read this thread, Not getting our emails to see if you have one of the problem emails.
You should have gotten an auto response at least. If you haven’t, check your junk and spam folders. Also, some emails block ANet. Read this thread, Not getting our emails to see if you have one of those.
One of the ways you can make a brand new char and outfit it with every legendary you have, as well as high priced armor skins and dyed with the priciest dyes while wearing your most ostentatious title. Just don’t die while in the starter zone. It’s too embarrassing. ^^
Ranger runes may have been fixed though: http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Talk:Superior_Rune_of_the_Ranger
Thanks for the post. I read this thread last night and was considering buying a set for a char, since I use minis all the time.
FGS is Frostgorge Sound. There is almost always a champ train running. Sometimes not if it’s a brand new shard or one that is closing down.
They have refunded before for people that bought items right before a sale but iirc the cutoff was about a day. (It was a responding post by Gaile Gray from about a year ago so almost impossible to find now to refer to). If OP bought the item within the cutoff period that ANet allows for refunds then by their rules he is entitled to get one. Otherwise, they will simply tell him he doesn’t qualify.
Edit: I forgot to say that refunds are only given for gems bought with real money. Gems bought with gold do not qualify for a refund.

Really. I thought they were unable to credit an account with karma. Or perhaps they will send him another set of armor?
Yes the shield mastery is evil. I like the idea of using it for ambient killer daily.
“Bunny Basher” title for my shield mastery, please.
It really is that killing blow that makes it so difficult to get regular mobs to count towards it. At least it’s nothing like the Yak Slapper title requirements.
Maybe Anet will have some sympathy and allow some environmental weapons to count towards the shield mastery.use shield guardian skill #4 Shield of Judgment , 5 targets , 30 sec CD
When I do this on my guardian I use scepter/shield and scepter/focus. While the shield skill is on cooldown I switch to focus. You can kill ambients with skill 5 and if you’re lucky enough to get a 2 or 3 in a group close together, skill 5 will hit all of them. Then I switch back to shield. Rinse and repeat for the daily.
You say you didn’t get far so you might consider this option. If you delete all your characters you can transfer for free.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/World#Transferring
Accounts without active characters
The transfer fee is waived for accounts without any active characters. This allows players just starting out to change to another world that is not full. You also can transfer without cost if you delete all your existing characters. The next time you log on without any characters, you will be prompted to choose a new home world. Please be aware of the following:
- Transfers to any game world — whether free or paid for with gems — are allowed only if the population of the world is at less than capacity.
- Transfers to any game world — whether free or paid for with gems — are allowed only once per seven days.
- If you decide to delete the characters on your account, Customer Support cannot restore them, in whole or in part.
- Items left on the characters will be deleted and cannot be restored. Move items to your personal account bank to preserve them.
Yah 5000. Which is one thing for hammer but really hard for something like shield which also has 5000 kills.
Been playing a Sword/Shield Warrior since launch.
I’m up to 4300+ kills with a Shield. x.x Curse this 1 target Shield Bash skill!
Yah. One target at a time, longish cooldown and it has to be the killing blow, not just damage leading to a kill.
I rarely use shield and most of my shield kills are from daily ambient killer. I equip a shield for that to get a few easy points toward shield master.
(edited by Astral Projections.7320)
You can always ask support if you can get the difference back.
ah i just went there i think its just the new route to that vista since the old one is destroyed
He says it’s a cave with a dead end so I doubt it’s a route to the vista.
Yeah, I’ve done all 3 of those before the september patch. It does look like the changed the Tolona one though.
I’m afraid your memory is faulty here. I’ve done map completion on those areas at least 9 times and those are new hearts that were added in the September patch. There was no heart at the cattle pen, the Skritt cannon area or the Sylvari termite worm heart before this.
These aren’t new hearts. The last patch reset them for some reason.
They are new hearts added in the New Player Experience patch. They also removed at least one heart, in Wayfarer Foothills.

“The heart Help Delilah keep the farmer’s fields safe was added in the September 2014 Feature Pack.”

It’s hard to tell from the mini map where exactly you are, but I’m going to guess it was a site for one of the rubble locations from during the invasion of LA.
tpcalc.com
Use it.
Thanks for this. I’ll use that until they fix it internally.
It’s obvious to me that since no Dev has bothered to comment on this in at least a dozen threads since the change that they have NO intention of “fixing” it.
Again, I’d just like to know why it wasn’t included in the UI to begin with…..and why that answer seems to be some verboten subject…..
Here is what they had to say about why they chose this setup.
Curtis Johnson: Source
“We felt it was important when selling something to know exactly what price your buyer was going to see. The change also is the least cluttered way to address feedback we received previously about profit including / not including fees and wanting to be as clear as possible on the order of operations.
We’re balancing a lot of UX design against desire for more information with the new UI.. We’ll be watching to see what sort of confusion comes out of this and may or may not re-introduce a net profit display later”
You have 5 character slots to start with. Make a range of professions and play one a day. Go to the PvP area to get an idea of the full set of skills they will have. Any you really don’t like, delete and make one of the 3 remaining professions to try. If you like the game it will be long term so it’s not necessary to rush your decision.
Yah one in Caledon near the portal and 2 in Plains of Ashford. All in the very starter area. The Plains of Ashford ones are, one where the cattle “cage” (filter doesn’t like the word pen) is (where the cattle would escape and had to be driven back with a cattle prod or whip) and the other by the Skritt cannonball area and a skill point.
