Wait for the portal to go away? I imagine unless it’s a pair of trolls, the portal skill has enough of a cool down that the troll can’t place it immediately after it disappears.
Uh they could go the extra mile and use “mimic” to get a second portal up as soon the first drops but after that your looking at a long CD.

When they were released I gladly Purchased a Black wing back. I waited until i saw someone with them so i was sure how they moved and reacted while running. I couldn’t be more then happy with my purchase until today. Today my wings were broken and made into limp ugly wisp of what they were before. They are not the same product i purchased.
I would please ask to revert them back to there good looking form or Refund my gems for changing the look of an appearance item i purchased. While some player might like the changes, altering an item after they were purchase is a betrayal to those who prefer and paid for the first version.
Stuff like this really upsets me. Why give us stats just to make them less effective?
To more directly answer some of your point….We are adding a system that lets you change the stats for your ascended gear (weapons and armor) next Tuesday – which will cost a combination of 10 spirit shards, piece you don’t want anymore, 5 ectos, and an exotic insignia of the stats you want to convert to. Legendary Gear will remain the gear that can freely change stats any time.

In the preview stream it requires an Ascended Insignia. Was this changed or is this a mistake? Many of us have invested in exotic insignia based on what you told us.
All WvW, classes changes and GH stuff will be added to vanilla i think this was already covered in one of the streams???
Do you have a link to where they said the guild halls are being added to the core game and you don’t need the expansion? I must have missed the stream where they stated that. It’s hard to keep up with the news since they tend to post information everywhere except their official forums.
No not guild halls but i think they are adding some kinda guild hut in LA so all the plebs can still access a limited amount of features. I doubt that includes the new wvw stuff as i believe you need the new war room and new crafting class to make them.
Since reading this post you have got me thinking. I have played a more then a few MMO’s. Each one i played had an Expansion Pack at some point. Every single time those that bought the new content were given access to stuff that gave them real advantages over players who did not upgrade.
Besides with Boosters and a DIRECT CURRENCY EXCHANGE this game has always been P2W in every mode except Structured PvP.
LOL. It is P2W as much as owning the game at all is Pay to Win. Its not a free to play game. Its buy to play.
You moved out of range of where the NPC’s reset point was. NPC’s are noly allowed to Travel so far before they leash. Once you reach that point( this point is based on where it has to move in order to hit you, not it actual location, this is why ranged mobs will pursue farther) it will drop out of combat, reset aggro, and attempt to return to its tether spot. Most of the time it will not reenter combat until it gets there( spawning a minion seems to reengage them sometimes.)
If you want to be effective at taking camps i suggest you spend a little more time learning the tether points of the mobs as to not have this happen.

Can we get a recipe to craft Thimbles and Kegs from Drops? I think these nightly spam clicks need such a recipe akin to Luck recipes. A level 1 artisan (maybe cook?) recipe to combine them into larger forms to save the spam clicks.
I dont really know how hard it is to add recipes with existing items but this seems a nice improvement for the overlooked WvW players.

Of course the Bookah sometimes refer to us Asura as rodent. Their inferior Eyes and brains just cant tell the difference between Skrit and our Natural beauty. For us it is much easier; Bookah are not unique at all. They are just overgrown Salads, Kittens, and hairless Apes(one being larger, stinkier, and dumber.) It hard for them to understand we are special and not some larger version of another animal or fern.
So forgive the Bookah, they are doing the best they can with the large bodies and small brains they have been given.
Uh to me it seems the thief was doing a good job keeping the WP contested. Of course he did not attempt to fight your Several friends, same with after you stealth trapped him. He used all his mobility tools to run because to fight at that point would be foolish. If you want him to fight, step out solo, hit him with a /bow and see what happens.
I like the mechanic as it is. It gives a solo player a way to significantly contribute w/o being involved in the main fight. We need more ways a solo player can impact battles not less. 1 thing i like about the new map is all the shrines are both solo-able and outside the main fortresses. I hope to see 3 way roamer fights over these.
I would suggest combining http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Illusionary_Invigoration with http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Phantasmal_Haste which is already in the new triat system to fit them both in the 3 per tier limit. There is no reason to “remove” either just combine them into one. It makes sense and Isn’t overpowered since if your shattering enough to make use of the at 50% Recharge your phantasms wont be alive long a enough to make use of their Haste.

1 thing that is really bothering me is if IP is now passive why do all ability’s start with 1 clone and stop at 3? Shouldn’t 1 be our 0 value or it total up to 4 with IP?
Illusionary Invigoration missing is a Huge loss imo. I hope they add it back in as was mentioned in the stream.
You are way over estimating the effectiveness of Ascended gear. The stat bonus from ascended gear is so minimal as to be completely negligible; a person in full exotics is just as effective as someone in full ascended. Ascended gear is really just for agony infusion slots for Fractals.
Uh no, just no. 12+% is not negligible. Weapons making up the bulk of that 12% increase. All content can be done in armor lesser then Ascended but not as effectively. The increase to Legendary/Ascended Tier gear is already high enough with the added benefit of legendary being stat changing.
I wish this happened more tbh. EotM was never meant as a safe place for uplevels. While it doesn’t count for score, it is another borderland for wvw style fun. I think there should be EotM guilds that specialize in destroying the other Teams karma trains and turning EotM into the player versus player zone it was intended to be.
I don’t see why a class that has absolutely insane amounts of conditions and mechanical tricks in pve and pvp has any right to pump out the same level of damage as other classes

Since mesmer have not had a damage increase it should be accurate for them. These would all be ideal situations and doesn’t account for when Phants die. The only time to take a Mesmer would be for using both Reflect and Portal in the 2-3 places its useful in dungeons. Pre Time Warp nerf we definitely had a place but now we are bottom tier imo.
Go play wow if you want an equipment advantage. In GW2 they chose to not add the never ending power creep that wow popularized. They should of kept the power creep 100% out like at launch where exotic was the highest tier.

This is kind of a tradition. There is always a T3 gatekeeper. Many servers have climbed into T3 and hit a plateau. Some keep chugging along and become the new gatekeeper, and some triumph, sending a current T2 member down.
The problem though is that what’s to gain after reaching T2? No one goes into T1 anymore without the express permission of JQ and BG.
DB was the loser in a months long T2/T3 struggle that got incredibly ugly. Is Mag sure they want into that situation? It forced FA to overstack. It forced YB to overstack, and it made SoS reinvent itself.
fighting t2 fight guilds would be good for our server. Many of our guilds have been fighting blobs and dont get wiped that often. Personally I welcome t2 and hope we get crushed, because failure leads to success.
You gotta earn it! Your “fight” guilds are going to have to PPT it up hard core to raise your glicko. Seems your luck as the last hold outs of DB guilds seem have left giving you and an easy road. To bad really if DB guilds could have stayed put we might of had 3 solid tiers not 2.

So, Mag gets Xfers to increase their wvw population/coverage. They climb 3 tiers over 4ish weeks in hugely lopsided matches. Then they reach a tier where they can’t score enough to move up. So they come and complain about “boring” match ups?

MMO’s have trained us all to be MIN/MAXers. That 2-4% i gain from ascended armor/infusions is more then enough to make it worth it.
Ascended Gear being added after we were told no vertical progression.
The slow, inevitable, locking of tiers is well underway in NA.

Me too. I would love a System where you never play the same 2 servers in a row. While the match ups might not always be as balanced as the top 2 tiers are atm it would add much need variety to the stale match up system we have.
Something like winners(1st) always move up and losers(3rd) always move down
Since they introduced colors:
Blue tag – pug raid, join as whatever
Yellow tag – guild raid
Red tag -scouts/focus party
Purple tag – Mesmers

IDK how the system works, but IMHO it would be pretty kitten to design a system that did not exclude excessively inactive accounts from total population calculations. So I’m gonna take a guess and say that such accounts are already excluded from the calculation because 1) we know from Anet that they are constantly monitoring and adjusting the cap and 2) a bunch of servers went Full again as long-time inactive players logged back in after HoT hype and then opened up a bit again as more accounts went inactive.
The problem with that mentality is that this is a casual game, and design to be so. It has a concept designed around the idea that players are welcome to take time off and come and go as they please.
Consider the opposite: underutilized servers because excessively inactive accounts are never removed from the calculation and server communities could never get new accounts. New accounts go where?
On the underpopulated and underutilized servers of the players in this thread, who are complaining that they have a lack of server population?
Thou earlier in this thread, I suggested the value (if it isn’t how it is done already) to not count the accounts who haven’t played in 2 years.
As i said before in this thread, “How could inactive account be part of the problem?” Many times, multiple servers have sad “blackouts” where they all log out for a period of time. This lowers the servers pop to allow xfers. If it was still counting inactive it would still count those who just logged out and this method would not be effective.

This isn’t “good enough”. My focus has shifted temporarily to the Stronghold open beta for sPvP tomorrow. But even so I and other programmers have been looking at source code searching for reasons why some people standing right next to each other have lag and some don’t. Right now that’s the big mystery. As programmers we don’t like it when performance is inconsistent; if it was always lagging for everyone it would be easier to debug but alas that is not the case.
Can you also look and see if these performance blips and server catchups are also affecting PvE when you get back to it? Ever since the stability patch hits, I’ve been seeing the same sort of unresponsive skills, and the server randomly playing catchup after the action seems to be done while the game is showing a healthy ping during busy world boss events. Just pick a busy world, watch for a daily world boss, and prime time. I never had these problems in PvE or WvW until the Stability patch hit, so it may be worth looking at the PvE side as well.
I get good framerates, and 80-120 ms pings during all this, it is just the game world that becomes unresponsive, or erratic.
Go away, WvW issues get dev attention so little we don’t need you in here with your however serious it may be problem. Go post in one of the many sections devoted to pve for assistance to you issue. I would ask you please avoid side tracking over worked mr. Clarkewillson as he attempts to help a section of the game that often get neglected.
JQ – unequaled king of WvW, 24hrs day they can match any other servers numbers. if winning is all that matters, then bunker up with these fine fellows and tryhard 1 spam till the other team logs out due to lag.
BG -aka Win Gate, on BG the server chooses you. With their legendary war chest they invented purchasing guilds. Early game they ran an amazing PR campaign allowing them to be where they are today.
TC- its the Role Play server……..
FA -aka Fort AssJamers, leave it to FA to both create and destroy the fight tier. No lack of NA fight guilds or map que times.

I was wondering, and I would like to know if there are more people who agree with me on this.
I found out you barely get any rewards for protecting caravans, keeping the castles defended while you are upgrading etc.
I would love to see more rewards for defending keeps instead of running with a zerg avoiding real siege combat.
I see worlds capping keeps, running away and it will be capped 2 mins later by another world and was wondering of more people would like to see more rewards for defending, protecting and upgrading.

I think the problem is how do reward someone for sitting a a tower “keeping watch” vrs someone sitting in a tower “afk.” I know shortly after launch their was an issue with dozens of players just dolly walking for exp. No effort at all, just walking with the dolly the shortest run you can find and repeat. That’s why we get no rewards for dolly now.
And they never saw or heard from poor Stephen ClarkeWillson again. Some say Anet canned him for responding to WvW problems. Other say He never weas really there at all, a Remnant/ghost/echo of the old ANET that cared for wvv. We may never really know the truth, but if your quite, you can log into the WvW forums late on a Saturday night and still hear the sound of him typing. ooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooooooooooo

Switch in portal as needed and if you find yourself using portal and veil often swap out medics feedback for glamour recast. I usually don’t keep portal on my bar but as commander it maybe harder for you to break out of combat and swap so you might want it always on.
I would also be a total kitten about my group if Commanding . Aiming for 2 guard,1 war,1 ele, and me. Give me all the boons and all the cleanses. I guess you could go a step further and choose Sentinel gear over Soldiers but HP already seems high enough. Good luck commanding can be rough no matter the Profession and Mesmer would not be in my top 3 for sure.

Uh i really dont think inactive population counts against a server being “full,” if it did all the servers would be full and not fluctuate as they do through out the day. Coordinated log-out has worked to get full guilds onto servers that maintain full status.
How do you transfer the extra daily login rewards to another account? I thought they were account bound?

Your either first or your last when it comes to a spot in the meta. Anet does their best to balance all the classes but even if the difference was less then .1% it would matter to some. Player skill can trump the value of a particular class, but if that skilled player was on a meta class it would probably be a better raid comp.

Here is what happened…Mag players Fair weathered around to a bunch of servers when Mag fell apart. They saw what they wanted their server to be. Saw how great it was to be on a stable T2 server. They seek to recreate what they had saw during this Current Mag revival push. Unable to do so or to push into the fight tier(T2) they seek to create a new fight tier to make up for their short comings. Don’t worry tho, history will repeat itself and after short time mag will grow quite again as it players spread back to more stable servers.
Look it takes 6 gards to counter 1 gurds stab one time but it dose not end there the gards lines are on a 32 sec at best cd where the 1 gurds stab is on a 30 sec cd at worst. That is if the one gurad is bad enofe to just run on the other garud lines or simply run into the other sides sword and kill them self on it.
War is still usable as a melee they are just not as OP as they use to be. Ranges are also effect by the stab changes and are weak to hard cc from classes with out boon removal becuse of this changes too.
The problem is that you can quickly reach a “crictcal mass” of CC there is no counter play to. They added a cap to the Control that Stability could effect with out adding a cap to the amount of Stability that Control could effect. Those same 6 guads 32 second CD can remove a near INFINITE amount of stability stacks. The old system may have not of been ideal but this change doesn’t work either.
