Pretty sure the Tormented gear only got underwater weapons because it’s a set from GW1 that also featured a spear.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they tracked TP and vendor data and found that a very small group of people used tickets or bought water weps and decided it was enough to bother with the time it takes to design and model the gear.

There is no Dreamthistle Spear on the Trading Post.

Some weapon skins don’t have underwater variants, possibly because they’re not very popular, and thus aren’t worth the resources to make. I THINK all the bltc weapon skins have underwater variants, but the “free” ones don’t, but I’d have to check to be sure.

They added a few dynamic events in the first few months, but found that most people didn’t do them, so stopped.

I know people are going a bit overboard on speculation, but I think it’s great that season 2 is capturing people’s imagination the way season 1 didn’t. I know there was a lot of speculation, but people seem to be excited about season 2. I know I am.

This button already exists. When you first press the create button, there is a button at the bottom-right called “skip to end” (you have to hover over that corner first). This makes everything randomized except for the name, which you choose at the end.

It’ll randomize your race, gender and background only.

It doesn’t randomize your appearance at all.
It’ll be stock appearance. As in the appearance you get when you choose a profession.
Some might even mistake you for a botter, since there are quite many bot users just using the skip function.

On top of that, you might not like the first appearance that gets generated, so you may want to use the button a few more times, which wouldn’t work in this case.

It seems to me that if you reuse a random button till you get what you like, then it’s not truly random.

I tend to agree that any group that advertises as 5k+ ap only is a group you don’t want to go with.

Because the opening areas are supposed to be training so you learn how to play the game, rather than jumping straight to the endgame with a: no traits, b: no skills, c: no idea how to play the game or what your character can do. Won’t dry top be more fun with mapchat going “What weapons can a warrior use?” “What’s 100 blades do?” “What skills should I pick?” The reason why they upleveled you during season 1 was because the content was temporary. Now that it’s permanent, there’s no reason to do so. It gives you something to look forward to. There’s an endgame now. There’s a whole world out there for new players. They don’t need to jump directly to a level 80 zone to have fun.

The Pale Tree was supposed to be like the Claw of Jormag, or the Shatterer, Mordremoth’s champion. The Sylvari were supposed to be his minions. But something went wrong. I tend to think it was Ventari dying next to the pale tree.

For me, I would like to buy s’more character slots, but there’s no way I’m gonna deal with this ridiculous trait system. So, no money for anet. Hope that’s working as planned for you.

I was thinking, current forum theory is that the tendrils are spreading via the waypoints. What if, in-universe, they decided to shut down the waypoints. But, since we all like to use waypoints, you could pay more to get the waypoint open temporarily. The effect for the player would be virtually identical, waypointing would just be more expensive, making it a better gold sink. I think the game needs more gold sinks, and this would provide an in-universe reason for it. What do you guys think

Umm, no, this is griefing. This is a person joining a guild mission and then performing something that prevents a guild from doing their mission and completing it with absolutely no benefit to themselves at all. There is no reason to do this other than to grief the guild. And we tried it more than one time, and other guilds have to. This is intentional. Someone is camping that puzzle just to screw entire guilds over.

So, yeah… I now have kill the grub in EBG for my rare XII trait (trait-line #5). I need it for a build I’m trying to use so I’m rather kitten without it for the time being. Problem is, we’re green this week in WvW (and have been since the end of season because we’re top of our tier) and my understanding is the grub is NOT solo’able.

So, here I am. I’ve now likely been blocked in half map chat (who are all at this point telling me to shut up) for begging the Commander to swing by and help me grab it (in enemy territory, near their spawn). Such was one of my only two real options here. It’s either that, or wait until we’re blue some random week (which as stated, hasn’t been since season ended).

Thank you Anet, for the delightful time… By that, I of course mean I’m glad I have absolutely no reason to ever make any more alts ever again, and am doing everything in my power to warn others of the potential strife in doing so themselves. The reaction to the screenies I took of my brand new lvl 80 with a complete wall of locked traits got a huge reaction from my guild on our website. They were met with a mixture of disbelief and/or hilarity. Mostly at my expense. Some members of our rather large guild even have since went on hiatus from the game itself.

I think it’s a lot easier to get random VAs to do the random voices in the game, then it is to get the main character VAs (all 10 of them) in to do more voice work. However, I tend to agree, can’t you use our name in text based dialog?

Yes, I did. Generally speaking, it takes about 20 minutes to get the gem(and that was true this time). I know this, so I’m okay with waiting., The problem is for new players who don’t, and make multiple gem purchases.

For record scarlet didn’t blow up thaumanova reactor she just helped make it go critical which in reactor speak is to turn it on. The inquest are the ones who put it in and uncontrolled reaction.

No, when a reactor goes critical, it’s a bad thing. It means that the nuclear fuel is overheating, which means that the nuclear reaction is self sustaining, and can increase, leading to meltdown.

I’m not sure how you confuse Rox’s voice and Majory’s, since they sould nothing alike. I don’t think the first one is Kasmeer, tho.

It is because he became dirt poor as Kiel Seized all his financial assists. He actually funded entire war and relief effort for LA. I thought that was what ambient conversations where about. Gem prices rising is effectively Kiels falt for slapping the face of BLT. I wouldn’t be surprised if consortium takes over now that there biggest competitor essentially got all their assets taken away.

edit to add: it’s 11:43 pm and I just noticed that I got my gems. I looked at 11:36 (15 minutes after I ordered) and they weren’t there.

I’ve had this problem with paypal for a long time. I actually did buy 10 dollars worth of gems 3 times because of the failures, but like the OP I just kept them (And didn’t know I could get a refund anyways) What happens for me is that it fails, and it tells me to contact you. Then, 30 minutes later, the gems show up. It doesn’t matter what time of day. It used to work, and then failed a few months ago(sorry, I can’t remember when)

The original post was sharing data on results from 11,000 forge attempts. I was hoping to start a discussion about the mechanics of the current system, not brainstorm about some potential future mechanic.

The data shows that the new drop tables offer a choice of nearly 30 skins+stat combos (up from ~20), but a loss of value (primarily due to seeing sub80 results). Objectively, this isn’t “much better” under any definitions or connotations of which I am aware — in fact, it’s easy to argue that it’s significantly worse now. So, either John made a major tactical mistake or there are more changes coming to Zommy’s drop tables.

Bazaar doesn’t count. Blood and Madness don’t count, they’re FESTIVALS, not living story content. I count 13 releases (I counted the two candidate LS as one, since they were basically the same thing), so that’s 2600 gems, or what, 30 bucks? Plus, you can’t access them until you hit level 80, and there’s a fair bit of content to do, plus, if they joined half way, that’d be 6-7 releases, or 1200-1400 gems. It’s not an oppressive amount, and is far less than what you’d pay for WoW, which I might remind you, doesn’t let you experience any content after level 20, and the first month unless you pay 15 dollars a month. So, to recap: 15 dollars 1 month of content, or 30 dollars for a years worth of content, plus all the content that comes with the game when you buy it.. What’s the better deal?

I think it would split the player base if you couldn’t access the new maps without unlocking or buying the story parts. But we’ll see.

The problem with increasing rewards in WvW is that it then becomes more attractive to people who just farm loot. Do you really want to be crowded out of WvW because loot farmers are taking up all the slots?

Why do they give us skills if they hate it when we actually use them?

Yes, this item isn’t for us. It’s for China. The time to introduce this was BEFORE ascended crafting, not months after. Why the hell would I spend 10 dollars to get this thing after I’ve already gotten to 500 crafting in all the appropriate disciplines? I know I’m atypical, but I have to imagine that most people have already gotten to level 500 in the crafts they want, if they’re at all interested in ascended gear.

Because, instead of ninja nerfs, these are changes they want us to find “organically”. It’s their excuse for “forgetting” to include stuff in the patch notes.

It always did baffle me why they don’t do this, not just in GW2, but in lots MMOs. Though I figure it’s got a lot to do with server identities, much like how we lost a lot of that identity when megaservers hit.

What they’re trying do is figure out a way to give people who have the bug a chest without giving people without another chest, because then they’re stuck with the same problem they have now. Some people will have double tickets, and some won’t, and those of us with the bug will complain, because it’s not fair. They also don’t want to flood support with people claiming they don’t have the chest, because they’ll have to check all of them to make sure they actually haven’t. (tho it should be easy to do an if:then search through their database). This is the problem they want to solve. That I have to explain it, rather than a dev is kind of shameful.
